It was especially fun because I literally never used the time break mechanic lmao. And the feeling when you evade cops are 20 to 30 minutes of pursuit hell freakin yeah! Oh, and... Snowrunner graphics, physics, tyres interactions with mud, water and snow is pure awesome. As opposed to fast racing games, this slow driving game is actually meditative.
Thats because you can only do so much for something to look photo realistic In the 90s the visuals were so bad that they had so much to improve on Right now honestly there is a thin line between actual real life and and these games on a visual perspective so most of the games just improve on the physics and gameplay
Yeah 3D gaming transitioning happened in the mid-1990s, but it still took until the mid-late 2000s for it to look smooth and less blocky/blurred/pixelated. You can see in late 90s & early 00s games, graphics were very basic and lacked detail.
same as the technology these games running on. From big transistors to a silicon chip. I really feel like everything important was invented in the past and today we´re only improving these things. :) i think the next step is to personally get in the game as a charakter just a little bit more realistic than the VR stuff from today.
well it's actually 4 years (they said). But the first trailer release in 2013 so it looks like 7 years. And what we can expect from a whole new project that can't reuse anything from their previous magnificent games (witcher series). Unlike Rockstar, making GTA 5 or RDR is from developing their previous project.
If you haven't, you should check out the Horizon Subreddit and see some of the pics that have been taken. Some of them are so well done that it's hard to believe it was taken in a game.
Incredible evolution! When you think and remember(80'-90' generetion) how excited we was with almost every game that appear, and how many times we said that "it can.t be better than this (graphics)"😆 I was like "WoooW" when i played "Carmagedon", "middtown madness", like "OMG" with GTA...i enjoyed this evolution, i didn.t imagine that it gonna evolve so fast and so realistic graphics-visuals! Srry 4 my english 😅
It’s strange how graphic quality varied in games back in the 2000’s. Some games such as NFS Underground were ahead of it’s time, then you had games that were not smooth at all.
Gta 4 had some of the best driving physics. Vehicles would deform realistically in a crash, and Niko would sometimes fly through the windshield in a head on collision.
Streets of Sim City and Sim Copter were fascinating as you could import cites from Sim City 2000, and play them in 3D. 4 months after this video, Forza Horizon 5 is the new benchmark of open world driving.
Hard to imagine I'm 30 and remember having and still have all the games from 1998- now I got every game except the 2010 Mafia ,2. I even got my PS1 PS2 and OG xobox, Xbox 360 and my all-time fav game is stunt man especially free play mode with every vehicle and stunt car props and ramps. And the challenges in career mode was actually fun and great story line to it
That game didn’t even have a clutch but it was meant to have one, So every shift makes this horrible lurching noise unless you had a wheel with pedals…or used auto which is lame. Couldn’t play for more than a couple days. Loved the 2 hr races tho.
I imagine it will be very minor upgrades since what we have now is already so photorealistic that the changes are barely noticeable as we go through each year. The curve is an exponential one - Throughout the 90s and 2000s each game seemed a massive improvement over its predecessor (GTA SA to 4 for example), then kind of stagnated in 2010s (GTA 4 to 5 wasn't as big a leap as SA to 4) so now even a small graphics improvement requires a lot more processing power and more powerful GPU
@@prashanthraghavendran2628 you're just focusing on visuals tho. I think it's going to be a fully sensory experience, ie smell, touch, even taste at some point (I just realized taste and smell are pretty much the same but still 🙃)
Will videogames as we see it will still be revelant around 2050? I'm not sure.. . I think we will be somewhere else, the logic would be VR is the next step but who know!?
one thing that has stayed the same throughout since 1989 is the lack of sync of speed in correlation with acceleration. Meaning the car doesn't move as fast as it sounds in the video game. Like going 30mph while engine sound as if its at 120mph.

It feels like NFS Most wanted games were always ahead of their time in terms of graphics (and also gameplay but I didn't play them all so can't say that for sure)
Its just nfs, most wanted is a specific title to 2 games but i understand the mistake since mw 2005 is the best racing game ever
@@Absolute_MaddLadd Actually I'm aware. I don't feel the same way about NFS Underground or any other NFS games. I'm not saying those games aren't good, but all I'm saying is that both the Most Wanted games always seemed way ahead of their time.
And yes, NFS MW 2005 is the best racing game ever! The vibe, the mechanics, the story, the cars, the challenges... everything. My favorite element by far are the police chases. I recall having genuine thrill when the cops were chasing me. It was especially fun because I literally never used the time break mechanic lmao. Graphically? No
Snowrunner graphics, physics, tyres interactions with mud, water and snow is pure awesome. As opposed to fast racing games, this slow driving game is actually meditative.
The greatest evolution from pixly games to a true 3d experience seemed to happen during the 90s. All progression after that is fine tuning.
Thats because you can only do so much for something to look photo realistic
In the 90s the visuals were so bad that they had so much to improve on
Right now honestly there is a thin line between actual real life and and these games on a visual perspective
so most of the games just improve on the physics and gameplay
Yeah 3D gaming transitioning happened in the mid-1990s, but it still took until the mid-late 2000s for it to look smooth and less blocky/blurred/pixelated. You can see in late 90s & early 00s games, graphics were very basic and lacked detail.
same as the technology these games running on. From big transistors to a silicon chip. I really feel like everything important was invented in the past and today we´re only improving these things. :) i think the next step is to personally get in the game as a charakter just a little bit more realistic than the VR stuff from today.
Fine-tuning my ass

Imagine what games will be like in another 35 years. Hard to fathom
GTA in VR
I imagine it will be very minor upgrades since what we have now is already so photorealistic that the changes are barely noticeable as we go through each year. The curve is an exponential one - Throughout the 90s and 2000s each game seemed a massive improvement over its predecessor (GTA SA to 4 for example), then kind of stagnated in 2010s (GTA 4 to 5 wasn't as big a leap as SA to 4) so now even a small graphics improvement requires a lot more processing power and more powerful GPU
