man, I tried the JTM1 and just realized how LOUD the 1 watt combo version actually is..... neighbours 30 meters across the street can even hear the amp played at 0.1 watt levels (the JTM1 has a 0.1W switch for 'late nite practice use')
I found one of the Custom shop white JCM1 mini stacks today. It was still brand new in the box, the store just had it in storage all thos time. They actually sold it to me at 30% off the original retail price, when I assumed it would sell for a premium. Anyway, it's an amazing amp and the 10" cabs around beautiful. Looks so cool to!
People flip on the low-watter pricing. Could / should they be cheaper? - *increased loudness is not directly proportional* to increased wattage - they aren't than much cheaper to build - lower wattage lets you easily push the output stage - these can drive (as you can see) a 4x12 - guitar players can be entitled & very frugal So, Marshall has got you if you want their amp in this format.
I have the DSL 1C which is amazing. The speaker is ok. Where the amp shines is hooking it up to a 1x12. I have one with a EVH Greenback and it is a match made in heaven. I found this sounds better than matching it with my 4x12 loaded with Greenbacks. The 1 watt drives the single speaker creating some amazing Marshall tones. This 1watt packs a pretty good punch.
Question - if I purchase one of these, will I be able to run it through the 1960 cabs as a full stack? Or will I need to buy specially designed cabs because of the low wattage?
Cool heads but overpriced. What's the point if I'm going to spend close to the price of the real thing ill go ahead and buy the real deal. The idea is collect these heads and have the best of all worlds but why do a limited run? I guarantee if they sold these amps for "practice level prices" they could sell a ton and make a fortune.
Only 1 watt? It's like they're only putting it out to have a share of the lunch box amp market. Making 15 and 30 watt amps sounds like a better, logical deal.
"How much are they when they're out?" "Price-wise, you'll have to check with dealers yourself..." In other words, these 1-watt amps are so ridiculously over-priced, that the mere mentioning of the actual price will definitely deter you from buying one.
I really enjoyed General Zod's demonstration.

Sweet mic stand.
"JCM 800 from the a-ease"
When you play well, then it is logical that it sounds good.
I like the 1960 JTM1.

Can these amps reach cleans louder than a TV on max volume?
I'm all over the JCM. :)
greenbacks or v30 on the jcm??
What speakers were in those cabs?
This dude plays guitar like a couple mad at each other having hate sex! Beat those strings!!!
And he's beating it left handed, so it feels like someone else is doing it.
Which box do you play the jcm ?

sounds like my MP4
Ripping !
Can you put your lunch in them????
See how he ducked the question , " How much do they costs?" 1 watt 800 plus tax. THe guy who planned this must be smoking crack.
1 watt in valve still a lot, cant play with drums, but can make your landlord kick you out
