Tone King your videos and coverage of the Winter Namm show has been awesome. You've covered stuff and put up videos days before others in the music business. Also a super plus you've asked questions that others haven't keep up the amazing work. *Horns up* Rock on!
Tone king is kicking Namm ass... All the other video reviewers have been left in the dust.. Tone is is first, fastest, best, and also getting really good with questions and coordinating the flow of the interview.. Thumbs up Lewis.
Thanks so much for this shoot-out TK. Fantastic news about these amps being made. What a good idea. Thanks for your excellent review of this years Namm show. I'm glad i subbed you. I have the KK800 and YJM and a Rat valve amps modded Class 5 with reverb and power scale.
Awesome interview Tone King, best of the NAMM Marshall demo's I think. Most have the amps blasting away, but when it comes to the talking, you don't hear a damned thing! Plus you got Chris to open up and explain what he likes about these, etc.
The 800 just kills. If you've ever wanted to hear a JCM 800 cranked to the gills, this is the one. The Plexi is very very good as well. I'll need those two.
Players & Manufacturers are finally getting it. You don't need anywhere near 100w to play live. You really don't need more than 1w to record. I'm anxious to try these out
@wtfwasthatt yes. if you have a V30 cab or green back cab and run it at 18 watts it's loud enough for sure. I'd definitely mic it with the PA if possible but, it's lound enough. My dmeos were at slightly above whisper on 1 and 5 watt mode.:)
Fantastic home/studio amps! As soon as I saw the demo on these I wanted one - Then I found out the price!!! "Online" £479 for the JTM & now £519 for the JMP - I've always thought that Marshall were very fairley priced compared to other amp makers but I feel that these are priced way to high for what they are!!!!
Hey toneking! great job with all this reviews i have been watching all of them and it was almost like being there at namm! Let me tell you that here in Spain we love your reviews Congratulations and keep on rockin!!!
@livingparody There are versions of the JCM800 with reverb and Master volume. JVM1 does not have reverb at least not on the NAMM enclosure. These are partial representations. IMO every amp in this line and specially at 700 dlls should have 2 channels (even if its 2 of the same for older models like JCM, JMP..) and FX loop to add external reverb, delays... It would not affect the tone and would make a ton of people happy :)
I don't use a lot of effects. I turn the level on the delay and the chorus down to almost nothing. I think that it makes the amp sound fatter. I play all kinds of music from jazz and fusion to classic rock to blues to hair metal and djent metal. I learned from JP and my dad to put a little bit of delay at least in front of overdrive tones. It doesn't make it sound like plastic, but gives it even more depth. I also do just use the sound of an amp, but like I said, for heavier stuff it's the JCM
Hey TK, You are awsum man, I really really thank you for covering NAMM....man!!..I feel like im almost at the event :).....That Being Said....Im gonna leave you off with one of these Bad Boys!!!!.........." I no you couldnt see that"......Thanks TK....ROCK ON !!
Hey tone king!! is there any chance you could make a vid with a jvm410h? with some megadeth style licks? thanks for taking the time to make your videos, they`re a perfect guide to buy gear n stuff! i`ve learned a lot watching you! thanks! rock on!!! \m/
@wtfwasthatt Hughes & Kettner tubemeister. That's why i bought one. I needed a loop and footswitchable channels. it also has a built in attenuator. I named mine "the fish tank"
Man that guy is tight on that guitar, fucking makes me want to go from blues to rock, I have a Les Paul Standard as of 2 days ago, so maybe I should pick a mini 800 up and rock hard
You don't get it? Well, they are low wattage because then you can crank them up at home or at studio without losing your hearing. And all-tube amps sound the best when cranked.
@wtfwasthatt sure no problem:) Yeah i need to put up some other clips. I only have acouple hi gain clips right now, been lazy, lol. I bought mine new for $534 but, it was a negotiable price (on ebay) It was at the normal $600. i have a 3 year warranty as well.
Tone King, a most excellent response, said with such dignity in the face of abuse from one who hides behind his you tube persona and feeble attempts to garner appreciation for his immature words. Let's all hope our socially inept brother actually reaches his mid-life without having his face filled in by a less tolerant man than the tone king. Peace brother and Rawk On \m/ \m/.
Man, you can't make ANYTHING sound like a big, loud plexi(800) whatever....except for the real deal. And I'm bit of an an amp snob. But These things sound pretty darn good. I mean, they are what they are...but you can definitely hear the related character of each amp. That is a pretty cool feat i and of it's self. NO doubt they'll sound killer HUGE mic'd up Nice Job....I'm definitely getting on for the studio:)
@Mo7Vsta the mini rectifier is 25 watt, this one is 1 watt.... however there is no excuse from Marshall not to include more features on the amp. They are always very good at leaving their customers wanting more that they don't deliver. For example Every amp in that video should have 2 channels, full EQ equivalent to the original model and Reverb. Thumbs down to Marshall for sucking in features. At least the JCM 800 there was a version with Reverb.
Whay is amp companies making small amps first regular tube heads-tubeheads with switchable wattage- now mini 1 watt productions ex orange tiny terror, mini rec,now this , whats the point of this it has to have a reason other than in my opinion, a novelty. If any one know share what you think and your reasonings. Thank you :)
Tone King is like myself, I wouldn't fit into a little Red sports car. LOL If I did I would need help getting out. LOL My Mid-Life crisis I got a Harley Davidson instead of the Red sports car. TK really is a great person, don't be so hard on him. He does this for us who don't have Hundreds of thousands of dollars to play all this great gear. LOL
time for the HD era man, you got awsome gear and you have a crappy camera, sound is weird too, get a full hd camera with manual focus, so we can enjoy even more and you bring more people to your channel. regards
Instead of the flashing the heavy metal horns, I think people should just sacrifice a goat. You know how in Mui Thai they have the dance ritual before each fight? It would be kinda like that except, you know, sacrificing live goats, maybe a few chickens, and rodents on a slow night.
Sorry but the Micro JCM800 sounds no where near a JCM800, More tube amp makers are coming out with Micro Amps for the reason of cutting back weight etc but still giggable such as Micro 5150 III 50 watts, Or Carvin Micro V3 etc. We dont want a practice amp with tubes, for practice use a digital amp where turning up is not required. EL84 tubes sound thin, the Mesa Mini Rectifier sound decent and the Carvin V3 Micro sounds real good.
That JTM was so amazing. Crowning glory of Marshall. Brilliant sound.
Man, all 3 sound great!!
i like the jtm and the jcm but for big amps i dig the jmps
Fantastic video----even all these years later, its still awesome!!
JTM1 and JMP1...I want them, i need them!!!
Tone King your videos and coverage of the Winter Namm show has been awesome. You've covered stuff and put up videos days before others in the music business. Also a super plus you've asked questions that others haven't keep up the amazing work. *Horns up* Rock on!
This is the first time I have been able to sit through an entire TKK video.
I think your vids are great TK. They do what the buyer needs, give info and a taste of the gear with details on specs etc:)
Tone king is kicking Namm ass... All the other video reviewers have been left in the dust..

He makes a good point about everyone wanting a JCM800 practice amp, but for the same price you can get an actual jcm800 combo if you look around
I cannot believe how loud 1 Tube Watt really is :-) And they push those 4x12 cabs so easy.
great work tone king,I am visiting NAMM from my cough all the way from Europe thanks man
TTK....Killer interview!! Love those little Marshalls!!!
@livingparody You wouldn't need to use reverb on a band or practice senario? what if the song you are playing has clean and dirty parts?
I can just imagine palying the "life in the fast lane" riff with the JMP-1 \m/ \m/
SICK tones!
it hard to tell from the video how close do they sound to the originals in person
@wtfwasthatt yes. if you have a V30 cab or green back cab and run it at 18 watts it's loud enough for sure. I'd definitely mic it with the PA if possible but, it's lound enough. My dmeos were at slightly above whisper on 1 and 5 watt mode.:)

TK....do you have an estimated street price on these amps? In particular, the JCM800. Are pre-orders being taken at this time? Thanks.
Great interview TTK! Always love your videos!
Whoa! The JMP1 kicks butt!!
Hey toneking! great job with all this reviews i have been watching all of them and it was almost like being there at namm!

TTK, did you you have any pricing in fo on these amps?
The little jmp sounded nice :)
what tubes do they use EL84 EL 34
Hey tone king, have you put weight on ?
He isnt sharing anything TTK, other then his loud mouth. Rock on my man! Your demos always rule.
I like the gritty sound of the JMP1 more.
Hey TK, You are awsum man, I really really thank you for covering NAMM....man!!..I feel like im almost at the event :).....That Being Said....Im gonna leave you off with one of these Bad Boys!!!!.........." I no you couldnt see that"......Thanks TK....ROCK ON !!

all tube??
Where can you buy it?
Any price estimates? Cant find it anywhere...
TTK: "So what're you gonna show me?"
CG: ^smiles^ "What d'you want to see?"
I fell of my chair laughing.
Best interview ever. Thanks TTK \m/
@wtfwasthatt Hughes & Kettner tubemeister. That's why i bought one. I needed a loop and footswitchable channels. it also has a built in attenuator. I named mine "the fish tank"
Ive treid the jcm 2000 mini stack. Fucking awsome for people WHO cant turn the volume up cause they live in a apartment :)
Nice phasing effect with the two mics ...
@Benjafy That is very true. Why pay $800 for a 1 watt head when you can get the real thing used for a tiny bit more.
are these amps tube or solid state?
moving microphone while playing=phase/flange/doppler effect sometimes you want it other times you don't!
Man that guy is tight on that guitar, fucking makes me want to go from blues to rock, I have a Les Paul Standard as of 2 days ago, so maybe I should pick a mini 800 up and rock hard
I'd like to demo that JCM 800!
You don't get it? Well, they are low wattage because then you can crank them up at home or at studio without losing your hearing. And all-tube amps sound the best when cranked.
RIP Mr. Marshall!
Tone King: Calls everyone boys and girls, everything is hot, and always touches his interviewees on the shoulder.
My thoughts exactly... (no offense) =)
I appreciate all the work you're putting into keeping musicians in the 'know'
I'll take one of each please !! WHOA !! These babies smoke !!
I want to know the price.

Or, you can use the JCM with a really short delay and a tiny bit of stereo chorus. Not a lot of chorus just enough to make it fat.
Man, you can't make ANYTHING sound like a big, loud plexi(800) whatever....except for the real deal. And I'm bit of an an amp snob. But These things sound pretty darn good. the mini 800 better than the mini rectifier? i think not!
awesome bro keep it up but i have 1 question
i am thinking of going next year
@morgolvale im thinkin the same i need one

@couthon Yeah, but 1 watt isn't gonna do it unless you are running through a PA. For rehearsal you would be drowned out.
Tone King is like myself, I wouldn't fit into a little Red sports car. LOL If I did I would need help getting out. LOL My Mid-Life crisis I got a Harley Davidson instead of the Red sports car. great answer man, there are to many assh...,becoming personal
How can that guy play his guitar so low!?
1 watt? 0.1 watt? I dont get it...
great.....
Reminds me of jack black
you compressed the tone with your microphone man...
with chorus and delay.
Instead of the flashing the heavy metal horns, I think people should just sacrifice a goat. You know how in Mui Thai they have the dance ritual before each fight? It would be kinda like that except, you know, sacrificing live goats, maybe a few chickens, and rodents on a slow night.
i would by they stuff if i could afford it D: tone king you need to do a give away for the 1 watts

@murfdog19 Yeah, but I ain't lugging around the real thing if I carry one of these anywhere.
Not for every kind of music. The JCM is better for heavier stuff.
fuck i want a jcm2000
@ronoc931 so you can practise in your house and dont disturb your neighbours :)
1st thought....WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!?!?!?! That sure doesn't look a JCM 800...haha
@dmarkj22 me too:)
@hihowareyouitsme tube
Are you in love TK ? :P
Thin thin thin. No punch, depth, bottom, warmth, etc.
great amps loud as shit but muddy booooo
@hihowareyouitsme tube.
