I wish we'd made more of those amps!! It sounds great especially through the matching 1x12, and it looks a different class to the other 1 watters. Thanks for the video - some great playing in there! Cheers
CaptAnderton Hi Lee! As I suggested in an old email conversation with you sometime agoI still hope that Andertones will make an order of a handwired 1xEL34 miniplexi amp from Marshall Custom Shop. I know they won´t be cheap to produce but the JTM145 have shown that amps like this will sell if the sound is right. Best!
They all sound pretty good. The Marshall sound is there but the JTM145 seems to have that special something that makes it stand out. Always a pleasure to watch and hear your videos, thank you.
Out fucking standing!Great demos I've been searching for a jtm 1 since I came across your channel about a month ago, found jtm1 offset stack. it'll be here next week. Thanks. keep up the bad ass videos.
Johan, thank you for this demo, I have JVM-1 and other Marshall amps. Thanks for all your other Marshall demos as well. You are an awesome guitar player and your Marshall videos inspire me to go plug in and jam out. You make me proud to be a Marshall owner knowing that no matter how many people think otherwise, you demonstrate that nothing sounds as great as Marshall. Cheers! \m/
Sweet! I've been waiting for one of these comparisons. Pretty much confirmed my likes in full size heads too. JMP first and the JTMs second. Thanks Johan keep up the great work.
Just picked up the JCM1H and JMP1H. Love them both. Running them thru, upgraded Marshall 3005 micro cabs, loaded with WGS Retro-10s. Thinking about picking up the JTM, possibly the JVM.
Nice tones, but I think I have come to the realization that I'm just not a Marshall guy. I find Orange to be more my cup of tea. Great video though, and excellent comparison between the different heads. You get a like from me!
BTW, as far as I know, only the DSL is continued in 1 watts, right ? I would love to get a JVM too, but they don't come in one watts anymore, any info about that ?
Thank you sir, this was nicely done. If you do something like this in the future, a looper might make it easier for you. It was a pleasure to hear you play.
i showed this video to some hot girls and ask them which one sounds better to them they watched it and told me I need to get a life!!!!! so yeah there you go I have the dsl1 combo it's as good or bad as any other amp... just us obsessive compulsive guys who wake up in the middle of the night wondering if your "tone" needs upgrading we need to face it we have a mental disease ....
+Leo Gonzalez hahaha, I'm afraid those girls may right about that. Still, did you ask them if they had any obsessions of their own? You know guitar amps isnt the only thing that's compared on youtube ;-)
Ha ha well I can think of 3 things shoes purse's makeup!! But still electric guitarist not acoustic take the cake with this insane preoccupation especially since most of us are just bedroom players lol. Thanks Johan you have hands down the best channel maybe one day you could do special with Andertons That pedal show or the Pat and Doug show!! Cheers
Great video as always Johan! I liked it espcially since I'm currently looking for a small head for home use.. my neighbours isn't really fond of my '69 JMP 1986 :) The JTM145 sounded really great but I think other JTM's probably can come close with an equlizer pedal in front. Hälsningar från en annan Göteborgare
I got Marshall JTM1! It's definitely my holy grail sound. When the seller show how the amp sounds with his strat, it was instant hendrix sound and my mind was blow! It's really loud amp even that it's 1watt, i didn't know how loud till i heard it live. Overdrive sounds are also very nice like you Johan also demostrated here. :)
I didn't know these amps were available. I'm totally stoked and have to begin the new collection. I want to run several together somehow through an 8 speaker full stack cabinet.
+Mickeyislowd The owner of these actually had a Marshall 6x12 with one 1-watter to each speaker :-) Think these amps are only available at the used market though. Cheers
To me the DSL and the JVM sound the best. The other models need to be played at full volume to get something decent but harsh on the other hand. The JTM and the JMP should be the Holy Grail... but they are not!
great demo, I have the JTM1C and JMP1C, got the JMP on a store in mexico like 6 months ago and I had to but the JTM from a german store, it tooks like 2 months to arrive
I bought the JMP-1C but hesitated with the JTM-1C. The JTM is very special compared to the others. He's the perfect little amp for pure blues ! I finally chose the JMP because it was the only other 1 watter at the time with the JCM-1. I prefered the JMP. I'd like to possess them all !!! Thanks for the great video !
Great playing...All of the amps sounded great, though the JMP is too anemic in the lows and thin sounding for my tastes...Enjoyed the beefier tones.Great video and thx for sharing.
Kyle Jantzen i just traded my JVM-1h for a JMP-1h and I regret it! The JMP-1h is to fizzy. The JVM was much more versatile and sounded better honestly. I usually use a Marshall 1987x and I love it but the 1w isn’t as good.
They all sound pretty great, except for the DSL ... I've played the JTM, JMP and JCM a lot, and they all sound like their distinct eras/pretty damn good (and loud for their size/weight!!). Cheers!
Strange but the JTM1 and the Custom Offset do not sound the same. I thought they were identical but the Offset has a bit more bite? Sounds great...Love your videos!
Awesome, yeah they did a great job on these. I really like the sound of the Andertons anniv model. Is there an option on there for US voltage or would you need to use a converter?
Johan Segeborn hi, you need to buy a converter from 220v to 120v. If you find a jtm145 one day ,ask andertons which converter they send to the USA buyers. Yes there's only 200 units in the world.
thestereostate if are you using the converter be attent the Hz I heard they can hurt the amp if mismatch. And there is another option but it's pretty invasive: ask a tech to remake the transformer to match your desired voltage.
Hi Johan! Any actual difference in sound between the JTM1 and the Offset … or is the difference purely cosmetic, as I’ve been told? Also, curious as to how you would rank these 7 amps, in terms of your subjective liking? You da man! K.

Really like it! Great comparison. I know Marshall is well-known for their Crunch sound, but I also like clean parts, like I saw in your video "JMP1-10 Musical Styles". Every good comparison should include clean and crunch in my opinion. :-) Especially for the 1w amps it would be interesting, if you could also handle a good clean sound...
Johan I'm going to be sending my students to this video to hear what subtly controlling space, time and dynamics is all about. In fact I could do that with many of your videos. A great comparison also. I'd be interested to hear them into a single greenback or 75hz H to hear how they interact with the speaker. I wonder whether the resonance of one coil would fatten some of them up?
Johan Segeborn yes I teach guitar and music theory In schools, but also have worked in electronic engineering. Amps are the perfect meeting ground for all these things haha
Hey Johan, thanks for this and other useful videos - you do rock! I have a quick question. Just tested a 'new' JVM-1, and bought a used one. They both have a rather loud and unpleasant hum with these settings: - Gibson Les Paul Studio bridge humbuckers (tried LP as well), - OD channel, EQ everything on 12, - gain on 12. and - volume at 9 gets worse from there to higher gain or volume. Is loud hum with high gain just a typical thing with JVM1, or did I test two similarly faulty copies (though they came to the store I tested them from different places...)? I had tested a JCM1 sometime ago, and the hum was not bad. But then again, it is not as high gain as the JVM. I would appreciate your input. Thanks, cheers!
+Taner TV Thanks! I didnt have any problems with hum, with my settings, check this out ua-cam.com/video/-An6cMfO9RE/v-deo.html I kept the gain lower than you did though. I thought it became muddy at that gain level, it might have hummed as well but I dont remember. Cheers Johan
I am a collector and really really wanted the JTM1. Then I ran across a video where a guy takes one apart and shows whats inside. I was so shocked I simply could not hit the buy button even when they were $600 bucks. My alarm clock has more guts.
Well, they all sound like Marshalls, don't they? Great demo! I own the JMP1 and love it. Sounds great here, too. I really liked the JCM here; a bit more kerrang ;-).
I own the JTM1 Offset. Don't let the size of those things fool you, they sound HUGE, even at 0.1w !!! I think I will use an attenuator in order to get lead sounds at friendly family/neighborhood volume levels !
Another great video, Johan! Thanks!!! To my opinion, the worst sounding amp is DSL. It has more treble and sounds kinda "plastic". The best amps are JCM and JMP imho. JTM variants are also cool, but they sounded more common. As for JMP - this is good amp. But it's more likely surrogate Marshall. It helps when you lack of JCM/JMP/JTM amps and their series. Thanks again, my friend! Enjoyed this comparison very much!
Hi Johan! Friday i bought this jtm1 offset. It is really cool. I owned several handmade amps, (not marshall) but now i understand 😃 why is it the best. I dont know what can they do better..... but they do. ( ok not the china made marsall). Did you use reverb pedal for your tone? Or just simple the gutar and the amp? Regards from Hungary! Cheers
No, i have the Offset and understood that it is differs a lot from JTM1 demos (which are kinda JTM45 mkII in small box). Please check that difference - you will be surprised. They kinda have different low end push and very different cleans. JTM Offset sounds like a very first JTM's (mkI) with white front panel. I trying to figure out whether i need JTM1 mkII, but i think this will be also a pretty good review of the general difference between mkI and mkII JTM's
Hi Johan. Great video. I have a JTM1H and I'm using it with a 16ohm Vintage 30 in an Orange 1x12. I'm thinking of replacing it with a current production Celestion, Greenback or Creamback. Do you have any recommendations?
+gingataff ..creamback 12M65 sound great in low volume (the greenback 25W wasn't good in low volume)...i have also a JTM1h (with V30+12M65), the creamback are most classic tone and sharp , the V30 is good too, but more powerfull and modern tone.
+ytrezazerty1 Thanks man, I was leaning towards the Creambacl 12m65. Do you think there's any difference with 8 or 16ohm? I heard that Marshalls sound better with 8ohm speakers but maybe this only applies to vintage models?
+gingataff Hi,if you want use single and with the V30 , buy the 12M65 in 16 ohms and connect it in parallel (8 ohms). I you want use only in single cab, I think it's the same sound in 8 or 16 ohms.
Just wondering if you could mod the plexi to have a higher gain stage like an inbuilt YJM overdrive pedal also an effects loop to run my T.C G Major for reverbs and amazin' delays with the awesome T.C transparency ??
Man I'd love to have the offset or the jtm145 but I just couldn't justify that kinda money for a 1 watt amp. 5 -8 watts and I'd be much more interested.
You're very welcome Johan! and Thanks to you - I really enjoy your videos, your playing and your good taste. Maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to have one of those 59' re-issues and a Zagray!
hi i just found a jvm1c in like new condition and i was surprised how good the tone is on this amp.and now i have listened to all of them .they all great amps.i guess im lucky specially what i paid for it 200 pounds .hahhahahaha i am lucky ba##@rd.
I think they sound slightly different but it`s not a reason to go for one amp or the other. I think the Offset sounds slightly clearer (as heard in this demo as well). Buy whatever you can get! I think the Offset is easier to find right now than the JTM1 head.
i think most of them lack a lot in bass and low mids. probably pretty good in a mix but not that great as a guitar without a bass and a drumset to fill the gap jtm145 man still killer but much better with the 1 12
if you mic them up through a PA system, sure. but not without it ofcourse. their main purpose is to offer you the sound of big classic marshall amps at home. one watt valve amps can still be loud at home but don't handle band rehearsals or gigs without being amplified by something bigger.
+CaptAnderton You should make more! I just now heard of these amps and it's one of the best amps I've ever heard!
I wish you would've made a whole lot more as well. The things are incredibly expensive in the US. Keep the videos coming, both Johan and Lee!
+CaptAnderton I saw these amps and was prepared to get one until I found out they don't make them anymore.
Hard to decide, I think you did the right choice by buying all of them.
+GibsonLesPaul2273 Thanks! They belong to a friend though :-)
😂 Thought so too +GibsonLesPaul2273
lol..:))
They all sound pretty good. The Marshall sound is there but the JTM145 seems to have that special something that makes it stand out. Always a pleasure to watch and hear your videos, thank you.
Thanks, yeah it's great to have an EQ to adapt to the cab and room
Out fucking standing!Great demos I've been searching for a jtm 1 since I came across your channel about a month ago, found jtm1 offset stack. it'll be here next week. Thanks. keep up the bad ass videos.
+crf671 Thanks, I'm really glad to hear that! Hope you'll like it as much as I did. Cheers Johan
Just got me the JTM1 Offset mini stack, and it sounds great, fantastic amp.
i have the dsl and i swear its a great amp. i highly recomend for u guys who want a great tone for home use or small public.
After many years of searching I found a csjtm145 in USA, now I own the only one csjtm145 in Canada afaik :) what an amp
+Sylvain Alain Yeah it its great, cheers! :-)
Johan, thank you for this demo, I have JVM-1 and other Marshall amps. Thanks for all your other Marshall demos as well. I WAS WAITING FOR A VIDEO LIKE THIS FOR LONG TIME!
Thanks for uploading!
Just picked up the JCM1H and JMP1H. Love them both. Running them thru, upgraded Marshall 3005 micro cabs, loaded with WGS Retro-10s. Thinking about picking up the JTM, possibly the JVM.
Fantastic little amps! Want them all!
I got the DSL1 because I was searching for a modern tone (very different than my Fender Blues Junior) but that JTM1 is in my bucket list
Nice tones, but I think I have come to the realization that I'm just not a Marshall guy. I find Orange to be more my cup of tea. Great video though, and excellent comparison between the different heads. You get a like from me!
Thanks a lot for your time & effort. One of the best examples of a proper video review.
And btw... ...lovely socks :D
Hahaha! ;-) Thanks!
BTW, as far as I know, only the DSL is continued in 1 watts, right ? I would love to get a JVM too, but they don't come in one watts anymore, any info about that ?
great man ! i have waited for so long for this demo
Thank you sir, this was nicely done. If you do something like this in the future, a looper might make it easier for you. It was a pleasure to hear you play.
JTM145 followed by JCM1 and then JVM for me...
JMP wins ! They all sound great ! Thanks Johan ! : )
Thanks man

The JTM145 sounds amazing! Of some reason I started to listen to some good old Lizzy Songs, inspired by the demo😊
A great compliment :-)
I didn't know these amps were available. I'm totally stoked and have to begin the new collection. I want to run several together somehow through an 8 speaker full stack cabinet.

Dude, I really like your channel =)
those amps are amazing, I got the JMP

great demo, I have the JTM1C and JMP1C, got the JMP on a store in mexico like 6 months ago and I had to but the JTM from a german store, it tooks like 2 months to arrive
Thanks Carlos, those two complement each other very well
I found an unopened box of the Marshall CSJTMOSH (offset 1w) (head and cab) and I bought it :) I own the 7 amps that are in this videos :)
+Sylvain Alain Cool man, I love those JTM1 amps. Cheers
I bought the JMP-1C but hesitated with the JTM-1C. The JTM is very special compared to the others. He's the perfect little amp for pure blues ! +Eric D. Thanks Eric!
The JMP is slept on.
I bought the JMP and JCM in both Head and Combos as soon as they came out. Wish I'd bought the JTM now too. I still like the JMP best though.
That mini JCM1 is smokin! Total Dio Holy Diver / Iron Maiden tone!
Love how the camera shakes because the bass :D
+Kjetil Myhre Berge hahaha, a both pleasant and unpleasant fact :-)
Great playing...All of the amps sounded great, though the JMP is too anemic in the lows and thin sounding for my tastes...Enjoyed the beefier tones.Great video and thx for sharing.
Really appreciated this comparison! I've got the JVM but would love to come across a JMP some day.
Kyle Jantzen i just traded my JVM-1h for a JMP-1h and I regret it! The JMP-1h is to fizzy. The JVM was much more versatile and sounded better honestly. I usually use a Marshall 1987x and I love it but the 1w isn’t as good.
Awesome tones as always Sir. Johan, I'd love to see a comparison between a popular class 5 combo and a vintage bluesbraker or a plexi. Cheers!
+Telecoaster Thanks, Glad to hear it! I have heard both things about the Offset. It is most likely the same circuit though.
For me, it'd be either the JTM145 or the JTM1 Offset. Nice raw and earthy sounds.
Thanks :-)
Awesome, yeah they did a great job on these. I really like the sound of the Andertons anniv model. Is there an option on there for US voltage or would you need to use a converter?
I know they released 200 units, Dont know if some were 110V
Johan Segeborn hi, you need to buy a converter from 220v to 120v. If you find a jtm145 one day ,ask andertons which converter they send to the USA buyers. Yes there's only 200 units in the world.
thestereostate if are you using the converter be attent the Hz I heard they can hurt the amp if mismatch.
And there is another option but it's pretty invasive: ask a tech to remake the transformer to match your desired voltage.
JTM145 was my favorite but only by a slim margin over some of the others. Played the JTM1c (combo) and it was perfectly tuned for its speaker.
Yeah the combo sound very good too
Really nice...TONE...NICE TONES......ALL OF THEM....
JMP....Full, Rich and Harmonic Overtones just listen with good headphones..all have their respective great traits but that JMP...🥇
Hi Johan! Any actual difference in sound between the JTM1 and the Offset … or is the difference purely cosmetic, as I’ve been told? Also, curious as to how you would rank these 7 amps, in terms of your subjective liking? You da man! K.
The JMP cuts through slightly better than the others.
was hoping to see a 1W comparison one day.
Great stuff!!! thanks
the JTM sounded a bit muffled with chords, bit Fuzz
hmm at 4:20 sounded good
JTM145 good stuff
JMP no bottom, sounds like low end filtered out. not my sound
JVM/DSL samish, JCM bit brighter
but really no bad one...hmm wouldn't mind to have them all!!
but to have a loop would prefer one of the more modern ones ...
Thanks Paul
Really like it! Great comparison. I know Marshall is well-known for their Crunch sound, but I also like clean parts, like I saw in your video "JMP1-10 Musical Styles". Every good comparison should include clean and crunch in my opinion. :-) Especially for the 1w amps it would be interesting, if you could also handle a good clean sound...
+MrKnisterable Thanks, yeah I often forget to include cleans in the demos. Cheers
I need another offset jtm-1. One of my biggest regrets was letting that one go
Johan I'm going to be sending my students to this video to hear what subtly controlling space, time and dynamics is all about. In fact I could do that with many of your videos. I wonder whether the resonance of one coil would fatten some of them up?
Thanks, you really make my day. We did the JTM145 with a 1x12 the other day
Johan Segeborn ah right sorry I don't know how I missed that... Kid in a sweet shop too much awesome stuff to Watch on your channel.
Are you a teacher in music?
No need to be sorry, I'm really glad that you follow the channel. Cheers
Johan Segeborn yes I teach guitar and music theory In schools, but also have worked in electronic engineering. Amps are the perfect meeting ground for all these things haha
Nice! would be cool to see the lead 12 compared to these as well!
Good idea
Hey Johan, thanks for this and other useful videos - you do rock! I have a quick question. Just tested a 'new' JVM-1, and bought a used one. They both have a rather loud and unpleasant hum with these settings:
- Gibson Les Paul Studio bridge humbuckers (tried LP as well),

+JIMJAMSC But it's quite impressive to get that much tone out of so little
John I would like to see how your lead 12 would stack up against the more expensive jtm, jmp, jcm, 1 models.
I put the lead 12 against the marshall dsl 1 and jcm1 and in my opinion the marshall lead 12 sounds better and more warmer
@@denispaint2151 “more warmer” … well, I’m convinced …
Well, they all sound like Marshalls, don't they? Great demo! I own the JMP1 and love it. Sounds great here, too. I really liked the JCM here; a bit more kerrang ;-).

Wow love these...which speakers do you think would make the best 1x10 or 1x12 cabs for recording?
Great demo! Are these amps worth getting?
my favorites are the CS JTM 145
JTM1H
DSL1H
Thanks John, Great demo.
Thanks :-)
Another great video, Johan! Thanks!!!
To my opinion, the worst sounding amp is DSL. It has more treble and sounds kinda "plastic".
The best amps are JCM and JMP imho.

As for JMP - this is good amp. But it's more likely surrogate Marshall. It helps when you lack of JCM/JMP/JTM amps and their series.
Thanks again, my friend! Enjoyed this comparison very much!
Can the dsl get the VH brown sound? I heard someone playing the jmp and it sounded perfect
Cheers
+Csabi Hegedüs Thanks! I used of the reverb in Cubasis. Regards from Sweden! Cheers
Thanks Johan
jtm145 ,, the best ~ !!! sounds fantastic
Yeah that EQ gives it a lot of options over the JTM1. Cheers Johan
That JTM 1 is lovely.
+Millo1868 Thanks, yeah they got taht one right
Just my ears but that JTM145 Anderton's sounds the best out of them all. Captain Lee out did himself on that amp.
Yeah it benefits greatly from the EQ
shocking how similar the 145 and the jvm sounded....polar opposite flavors in the big versions
Yeah, but I mostly dialed in classic rock sounds, the JVM has so much more gain.
Great selection of tones, but my pick would have to be the JTM 145 (and it looks like I'm not alone). Dat midrange...
Let's go !!! I want a couple of these 😍😍🥵🥵 🤟🤟🤟🤟
Jmp all day!
I own the JVM1h, purty impressive little amp. The amp can get loud. I play it through a Egnater 1x12 closed back, deep cab. Sound very nice........
+motokev it's great indeed, I play it more in this clip
ua-cam.com/video/-An6cMfO9RE/v-deo.html
PLEASE, make the jtm1 vs jtm offset detailed shootout. I guess they are very different really
Hi Ilya, as I've understood it the difference is only cosmetic

Thanks man, I was leaning towards the Creambacl 12m65.
+Mickeyislowd Yeah both those are possible
Man I'd love to have the offset or the jtm145 but I just couldn't justify that kinda money for a 1 watt amp. 5 -8 watts and I'd be much more interested.
JTM for me, but the playing here is awesome.
Love ur review,, which one u like?
the jtm145 sounds so much better than the others
Yeah, the extra precision or bite of the EQ makes a great difference
JTM145 is my choice.
Which one is closest to a 1969-1972 Marshal Major?
The JTM145 and the JCM1 sounded best
+tonebender69 Thanks!
Can these be played at bedroom volume ?
Which one of these can get me a bluesbreaker tone? thanks
정말 좋은 앰프 컬랙션 입니다 !!

Great sounding amps, JTM 1 Offset is my favorite, it sounds a little bit different from JTM 1.
Does it, though … ? Why?! What’s different about the circuit, if anything … ? 🤷🏻♂️
JTM1 for ever
How many of each were made?
I think this only proves that the 59' reissue sounds good through anything.
Thanks Mike, it does indeed
You're very welcome Johan! and Thanks to you - I really enjoy your videos, your playing and your good taste. Maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to have one of those 59' re-issues and a Zagray!
JCM all day long
JCM 2000 all the way
the JMP sounded harsh to me
Which one you like most?
hi i just found a jvm1c in like new condition and i was surprised how good the tone is on this amp.and now i have listened to all of them .they all great amps.i guess im lucky specially what i paid for it 200 pounds .hahhahahaha i am lucky ba##@rd.
My back would be killing me from sitting on the floor playing that long.
Me too. But it's usually the most practical set up. :-)
hi, Jtm1 and jtm1 offset are the same ?
Does the JTM1 Offset differ in your opinion tone / sound wise? Or is it just a different look?
+StéphanK I think it's just a different look, heard no difference.
Ok thanks!
I think they sound slightly different but it`s not a reason to go for one amp or the other. I think the Offset sounds slightly clearer (as heard in this demo as well). Buy whatever you can get! I think the Offset is easier to find right now than the JTM1 head.
JVM, yes I'm biased. Where's the love for the JVM?
I love it, however for this style of riffs the JTM and JMPs which in comparisson are one trick ponys are ever more up to the task
Johan Segeborn You're right of course. I was just razzing you. Great chops by the way!
Thanks man
i think most of them lack a lot in bass and low mids.
probably pretty good in a mix but not that great as a guitar without a bass and a drumset to fill the gap
jtm145 man still killer but much better with the 1 12
I'm gonna compare the JMP1 to a JMP Super Lead day after tomorrow, check it out
Do you think these little 1 watt amp can be giggable? Just curious :D
if you mic them up through a PA system, sure. but not without it ofcourse. their main purpose is to offer you the sound of big classic marshall amps at home. one watt valve amps can still be loud at home but don't handle band rehearsals or gigs without being amplified by something bigger.
