- I met up with Blaine and Dimitri, with their White and Kinetic Yellow Jimny's. We would be attended a Suzuki 4x4 SA event at Groenkloof Nature Reserve. A good amount of fun in the mud and water lay ahead for us all! What a blast!

There is something so satisfying about watching these little cars negotiate all this terrain! Finally got one myself and can't wait to bring it out.
The Jimny deserves way more attention than it gets. My belief in this vehicle just shot up 500%. My dream first car.
Wow! That’s crazy 😁
@@RoamOverlanding at 2:59 why do you say that a manual if get stuck won't get out. And why the auto , if get stuck will get out easy. Please explain. Thanks
I love the white one, looks vintage
Had I not seen your videos before, I'd have thought this was a Jimny commercial! Really top quality - well done!
Thanks Philip! :P Maybe one day I will be filming a Jimny commercial ;)
Yet more great editing/ shooting! The Jimmy looks great in its element and really competent off road. More please!!
Getting better mate, keep it up!
Well done Adrian, these videos are always top class and very pleasurable to watch..
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy them! 😎 I make them for people like you 😁
....nicely done bro,...top quality stuff,...easily the best new Jimny videos on the UA-cam,...Suzuki will reach you soon for these stuff..You are creating a mad demand for this vehicle with these videos....
As long as people leave my videos happy and excited about the Jimny, I am happy! :)
these videos are adding to supply problem... hahahaha. great work! love the slow motion.
Nice video. Thanks for the rest we look forward to.
What a country - and car!!
Great video.. I'm from Tasmania Aus and have just ordered my first Jimney... stumbled across this video and found it awesome...Love SA..been there many times so nice to hear that accent..
Thanks so much! I keep watching videos of Tasmania, and I think you’re going to have an amazing time exploring Tasy with the Jimny
@@RoamOverlanding I am always watching videos of South Africa... wish i was there more lol
That’s it!!! I’m buying one!!! Damn you!!! Damn you, I say!
Nice vid, dude!
Good stuff, well done for proving the Jimny can do water that deep without a snorkel. You had some balls doing that trail in the NEW car, I would shed a tear when the first scratch or dent happens!
The tears were just shed off camera :P
Greetings from the Philippines. Proud Jimny owner here... :)
Finally some decent 4x4 test for Jimny thou it can go really way harder than that. Good job.
Wait and see the next episode! :D
@@RoamOverlanding .Cant wait ! :)
Dude I honestly lov your videos. The actual production of it is top notch. And I dare say you are the reason why I'm selling my Golf R and ordering a Jimny. I just need to decide on a colour. I really like the Grey by seeing Dimitri's one in that kinetic yellow is confusing the heck out of me.. Keep those vids coming....
Looks like you had a fantastic day. I try to get my wife to see all the practical benefits of a new Jimny against our Mondeo.
The new Jimny is just so much fun!
I got a Nasty Spider bite walking through those waters at Groenkloof checking the water and ditches ect. That cant be seen in those muddy waters.. Since then My brother inlaw got a set of waders to walk water crossings before we enter them.. Very cool video work. Making Groenkloof look very interesting again... I have not been there again since the spider bite..
Geez! That’s rough! I would like to get a set for myself and my girlfriend; especially for her as she is often the one filming at times like this. I hope the leg is alright 👍🏻
Cant wait to get mine.
Perfect vidéo, perfect vehicle !!! 🇫🇷👍🏻
Fantastic video !
At 2.21! 😱 Looks like a close call! 😱😂🥳
very cool video!!!
i get jimny next month in japan.
Fantastic
Awesome video again
Just love your jimny videos
Thanks so much! Its so awesome having great viewers like you, who take the time to tune in every week!
@@RoamOverlanding
I cant wait for your videos , not being in SA and able to take my Landy out , makes me long home more , but getting to watch your videos helps
Ah thats so awesome man! Im glad we can remind you of home!
The best video so far ! Thank you !
Thanks for always watching Alex! :) Im glad you enjoyed!
I love the grey jimny
Me too 😉
Damn you, suzuki. Your car just brilliant
Best video mate well done ..from tanzania😊
Tomorrow going to pick up my yellow GLX! So excited! 😯🙏🏻
Congrats! What colour did you end up going with?
Lemon, that's why I said yellow GLX 😂
It was between Dark Green, Beige or Lemon
You certainly know how to shoot videos and take pics i especially liked the last few pics awesome quality
Thanks so much Asha! It’s a teamwork, we are starting to get the hang of it all now 😎
Great video as usual. Love the Jimny! ... From a JL Rubicon owner in Canada.
I think a JL would be a great big brother for our Jimny! 😁
One more great video!
Excelent video, nice machine
The best video thank you
Love your videos!
Thanks so much mate! :)
This is so epic
Awesome professional video, thanks guys.
Brilliant video guys - went to Suzuki in Cardiff, Wales UK last week to place an order only to be told that delivery was two and a half years!! errr hello?!!
Yeah, they got caught with their pants down on how much demand there would be for the Jimny.
Go Jimny!
How cool ! Right after the Australia "deep water" video, I sent you yesterday, today the same (kind of) with you guys ... :-)
I think its so cool having three of us now! :D It wont be like that in all the videos, but I definitely look forward to having Blaine and Dimitri with us in the future! :D
Thx,good video...
Amazing videography! Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much Jason, Shandelle did a great job filming!
Super video :)
Bring these to America!!!!!!
Bring this beauty to Mexico. Baja 1000 it's waiting for it. 😎🌵🐍🚙
That would be such an incredible trip!
Nice, i dream of going off and overland, maybe someday
Посмотрел несколько ваших видео. Мне понравилось. Отлично!
Great to see the different colours together. My kinetic yellow will be arriving at the end of March. Can’t wait! Another top video man and those subs are flying up now! Well done 👍🏻
Thanks Dan! The Kinetic yellow actually really surprised me... I wasnt too mad about it on social media, but when I saw it in real life... Wow.. Its really nice.
Yeah I’m the same. When I saw it in person I was pleasantly surprised. Just wondering what sort of depth the jimny can actually wade through. How deep did you go ?
Daniel Heywood I think the deepest we went was nearly above the wheel
@@DanHeywood92 it's never recommended to go deeper than the centre of the wheel, because deeper than that you start to damage stuff like wheel bearings, alternator, starter motor and electronics. If you have to, the Jimny will go to about half way up the headlights. That is level of the air intake. Also the door seals are not as good as the previous generation, so you better keep moving.
I very much so agree with Victor. You have to take it easy, also if there is any flow in the water it can just be really dangerous to take it further than half way above the wheel.
Well Done. It is hard alteady to get jimy in Scotland and now after your video it will be impossible. Thanks now I need wait a year do to high demand and low supply
Sorry mate! I wish you luck though!
Awesome footage of what these little beasts can do! Any possibility of looking at a comparison between the manual and auto? Would love to know how the two differ on and off road. Keep it up!
Thanks Deon! I will perhaps do a video with Blaine, and he can talk about his experience with the Auto. :)
Also keen for one of those videos, looking at updating my jimny as soon as we see them over here in New Zealand,
Roam Overlanding I’m also curious about the advantages of driving a manual or auto jimny for 4x4 purposes!! By any chance have u explained it in one of your vids? Great work btw man! Just got my jimny here in the philippines today.
I never considered this car to be anything more than a “hairstyle” 4wd, now I want one.
Really nice video. Hi from Nicaragua.
Man, is there anything that Car Cant Do? Small Car Big Attitude a real Off Roader.
Haha! It really has a lot of attitude!
i cant fly
cant win an F1 race
Totoy Bibo would love to see a F1 go where this goes
@@digitalsuperman If the race uncludes only 4m of mud and stones the jimny will win 😏
Nice video! Too bad it contains two things I can't get in the states today: the Jimny and ACA JOE. The Samurai was sold here years ago as was ACA JOE clothing.
Sonny Cruz same problem i what one in USA
great video
I subscibed mate nice video 👍
Welcome aboard!
Awesome video! Greets from Perú!
Thanks for watching!
Cool video man.
I drive a k-class JB23 in Japan.
I just know Jimny really goes with muddy , rocky and steep slope sections.
Also, Jimny will be able to finish those sections much easier than Land cruiser or G-class thanking to its lightness.
I want JB74 someday.
I think so too, it’s special because it is light. I guess the future of my car will make it heavy with all the stuff on, but I don’t want to do these crazy 4x4 courses forever. I would prefer to encounter them naturally when I’m traveling 😁
Yeah I agree.
You’d better not dare to go into this kind of course very frequently if you like to keep yours functional and capable as long as possible.
On the contrary however, you’ll find out that Jimny ‘s instinct doesn’t permit you to be conservative and it’ll lead you to the similar Jimny’s paradise as this video 😁
That’s the story of my life😆
Hahah! I think you are right! I get to Friday afternoon and Im already ready to get in the mud!
Cool, way to go!
Keep at it👍
So the automatic transmission managed to survive water submersion? Awesome!! 👍
Great to see what a Jimny can do. Its sad that the Jimny arraiws to Sweden i Jun/Juli this summer. Locking forword to that
Cant wait till it is available in Denmark.......
Great!! Could you tell me your detail of the roof rack? I would love to buy same one for my jimny :)
Hey buddy! You can watch this video ua-cam.com/video/m6THrr9zrog/v-deo.html I talk about everything
日本人から見ても、スズキジムニーは最高の4WDですよ
This car is going to be a huge hit. I hope its a big enough hit for suzuki to bring them back to north america.
The video quality is top notch!
Thanks Adeel!
Its a fantastic little vehicle! It would be epic to go to Mexico and explore it by overland!
Absolut awesome video about the new Jimny! What a great little car.
As it was said before i also would wish a comparison between the auto and the manual transmission - Thanks for doing that!
It`s a shame that here in Germany nearly everywhere it is prohibited to drive offroad without special permission such as for hunters or rangers.
Thanks man!! 😁 I’ll chat with Blaine and see if we can arrange something to compare the two.
@@RoamOverlanding Perfect - i appreciate that! Thanks man!
Beside that it would be interesting to find out, how the KO2 Tires perform offroad and how you build and equip the car... ;-)) What are your next plans for that?
Camera Woman: I can't these guys to shut up. Lol
However, I did see a white Suzuki Grand Vitara Xsport. I had one of those SUVs and it surprised me on what it could do. They use to sell them here in North America. But no more dealerships as Suzuki pulled out of the NA market.
Lovely video again. When you've done a fair amount of trails maybe you can make a raw footage compilation with some of the trails combined.. No music, no talking just the raw sound of scratching tires and mud splatters 😁
If that is what you want to see, I have done 7 trails since I have had mine. Not nicely edited like these are. Just raw footage of what it is good at.
@@vicrundle4661 love your videos especially the bass Lake one
like jimny so much! (hi from indonesia)
Finally got a confirmed delivery date, but I had to change the colour to get one this year going for the SZ5 in Silver like yours, will have it end of May 2019. There's only around 200 in total coming into the UK for all of 2019. My dealer stopped taking deposit in Jan 19 as they are now saying 2020 the earliest for any more.
Congrats! Your colour will be different to mine as mine is medium grey; however I really like the silver ; it looks awesome!
While driving through all the water, was there any water whatsoever inside of the vehicle thru the crevices by the door and the trunk door?
not seen any fitted with snorkel max depth I thought for these new models is only 30cm
Wow... Wow... Wow
se ha modificado la suspensión para colocar los neumáticos? que tipo y medida de neumáticos tienen estos Jimny?
hahahahahah all the men can't stop talking 3:56
Give us some feedback on the auto gearbox of the Jimny and how it compares with the manual gearbox and which would you recommend.
Thank you for the informative videos.
Sweet car. When i wont go to off road - i just take this Jimmi to my BMW trunk and go to point:) Jimmi Step one in offroad in POLAND :)
I'm so jealous we don't get those in Canada!
Or in the USA :(
Great trip! Please: how many cm can I wade? Without body lift...Thanks
By the book, only 300mm. But a general rule of thumb is nothing past knee height.
@@RoamOverlanding Thanks, in my italian book there no indication about wading depht
I would love to see you in action on the beach or dunes in some really soft sand please :)
please do a video of a soft sand or on the beach
Question here: if we were riding through deep flood water about the height of the hood, what mode should we use, standard or the 4x4 mode? Shoukd we keep it on "D" or put it on "L"?
I would avoid water that deep, there are other modifications you need to make to the vehicle first, and also water will enter your vehicle at that depth. So Stay away from water like that if you can, otherwise put it in 4x4, Low range
Where is the air intake of the jimny? And why did the auto transmission pass easier?...very nice video.
Νίκος Χολ. Yes that is good question
The air intake is in the top left corner of the grill, the auto doesn’t need to shift gears the same way in the water, so if you run out of revs it can gear back easier. Where as with the manual, if you pick the wrong gear you can easy get stuck, because if you stall you can’t start the engine again
Ok thanks..and how did the air intake manage not to get water in it?
Roam Overlanding on the las mud trap you chose 2 gear or 1gear to pass
@@ΝίκοςΧολ There is a whirling tube inside along with filter. To get water there you need to stay in it for some time. If you are in the move -water just doesn't make it past the filter
Should I get this over the UAZ Hunter?
Saludos desde Colombia...💪
Awesome video. Have you tested the Suzuki Grand Vitara? I would like to know what you think about it
Not yet; I’d give it a go some time though 👍🏻
any issues with air conditioning and over heating?? while youre travelling with jimny?? aircon strong enough??
O Jimny é ótimo.
Will it ever come with a diesel engine? Sujuki already has a few in their other models.
Hey man heard you saying you have the manual but your friend has the Automatic. Just wondering if you've had a drive in the Automatic and what did you think compared to your manual?
The auto is very nice to drive; and I would say if you’re doing a lot of around town driving and rocky 4x4ing the auto is great. But if you’re doing highway and sandy 4x4ing; the manual is great
No snorkels 😬 The yellow zook at 0:55 came close to hydrolocking his engine charging in like that, I've seen it happen at that depth.
Yeah I wish some one would just make a bloody snorkel for this car! Everyone is sleeping 😂
It ’s an exciting attack! Jimny is a small but reliable car! I want to attack my Jimny and Prado!
The Jimny may be small but sure packs a punch. What are those tires shod on those JImnys? Great video.
Do you feel the need for some underbody protection? Skid plates? Differential guards?
Did the car hit something underneath in that trail? Or ground clearence is good enough?
The dif and everything was fine. The parts that really got hit bad are the radial cups, I severely damaged the one. I’ll be putting on steel radial cup protectors next week!
@@RoamOverlanding Radial cups? What are those? Could you show them? Thank you ! Forgive my lack of not knowing that !
Its the part of the suspension system, and is the lowest part of the vehicle on the Jimny.
@@RoamOverlanding I've google it and see. Thank you !
@@RoamOverlanding please make a video on that. Mounting and informations about radial cups steel plates protector
Do you know about its indian launch. Ours generation of jimny that is the gypsy has been there forever p.s it looks cool modified
IWould've loved to be there. And a braai at the end? Looks like a perfect day :P
Any thoughts about a lift kit on your Jimmy?
I might do something small, but through suspension and not through lifting blocks
thanks for this video! what do you think is jimny's max wading depth in your estimate? can't find an official wading depth for it.
Hey bud! The official wading depth is only around 30cm; so one needs to be cautious with water crossings. The air intake is just to the left of the front badge so if you cross that point.. it definitely won’t be a good day
@@RoamOverlanding thanks for that! Looks forward to having it!
I read of people going in with water just below the bonnet...and fucking nailing it 😂 seriously tho, I heard 90cm is a still viable depth. Are they exaggerating?
Gioele Grenga you can still pull in water through your hubs, so that’s why they claim 30cm, the air intake is before the grill. So if you get water in there you can skull nuke your engine. The air box does have a bit of minor water drainage, but a raised air intake and diff breathers would still be optimal.
@@RoamOverlanding thanks for the explanation. Since we're talking, how much difference there is between a stock Jimny and each of these three? Are they widely modded?
Am I right in thinking the Yellow one was on standard tyres????? Did all the same terrain ok? Best video so far 😉👍
Thanks Kerry! Actually its on 205/75/15 Good Year Wrangler Adventure's
@@RoamOverlanding Oh right. Do you know any one who's tried Kumho? Still no sign of my Jimny. But got rubber mats through the mail today. Also the load space rubber mat. #CantWait
Nice little extras! I’d love to get rubber mats. No experience with Khumos unfortunately sorry!
What is the wade depth the Jimny can actually muster? I heard somewhere it was only 320 mm - can that be accurate?
I’m looking to buy one - should I have a snorkel inserted?
So the main issue with the wade depth is not the air intake its the diff and transmission breathers; these can be extended to the engine bay which should be able to increase your wading distance quite abit. However the car does take in water through a couple of small holes in the rear body; so you have to move quick through the water and try not submerge the back of the vehicle for too long.
Roam Overlanding cheers mate! I wasn’t aware of the rear door issue. Arctic Trucks will do a lift and adding 31” tires and the old-man-emu lift kit. I’ll have them sort out the breathers as well.
Ojalá en Chile podríamos tener empresarios con visión. . Chile sin stock de Jimny , aún no podemos comprarlo.
