    i love your approach to your videos, gentle soft spoken, calm. i live in the states and cant wait till Suzuki brings Jimny here. i currently have mark 2 crv that i just purchased from original owners, very high miles, but in great conditiin. im fixing all the quarks, its a second vehicle. i like the old style awd, 5spd, very rare here. ko2s are on the list. snorkel also. 30 yrs ago i had 86 suzuki samurai conv, loved it, never got stuck and embaressed many big trucks at the beach, it was so light, with stock tires would go anywhere. keep up the good work brother

      @@RoamOverlanding I've been mulling over a Morocco trip as a graduation gift to myself. So halfway could work :D my 12 year old, slightly crusty, Jimny might be somewhat more 'rugged' than you are use too though. It does however have exceptionally comfortable Recaro seats out of a Ignis sport which I rank at possibly the top of my list of mods to that wee truck.

      An interesting concept! Id be a bit nervous about road safety though :P I generally engage 4x4 on dirt roads for the safety aspect, and that the car feels more solid on road. And then when doing 4x4 trails, you would end up driving too fast in 2HI and damage the vehicle, as opposed to the slow controlled speeds of 4LO.

    What is the difference in tar road noise between the factory tires and the BFG's?

    • @RoamOverlanding
      @RoamOverlanding  5 років тому +1

      Quite honestly, they arent too much more noisey, At very low spead you can hear the rubber on tar, but its not loud at all. When it comes to highway, there are many more other noises in this vehicle that are louder than the tyres, so I havent noticed much of a difference in that department.

    • @craigsparks1442
      @craigsparks1442 5 років тому +1

      Any all terrain tyre would be noisier, but the older jimny is surprisingly very quiet in the cabin when on the highway though even with all terrains on... Just a bit of wind noise.

      @sgtunix 5 років тому

      @@RoamOverlanding I've put BF Goodrich KM3's on my mk2 Pajero. That's a M/T. You definitely notice a bit of road noise but it's not bad, and the tire more than makes up for it. I think it would be perfect for the Jimny as well.

      The brake assist is very useful most of the time, but it would be safer with a proper locker. It would perform really well with a rear locker and then the brake assist up front 👍🏻

    • @BlaineVorster
      @BlaineVorster 5 років тому

      Would be nice. But 1.5 Diesel would be more worth it. like Nissan/Renault 1.5 dCi. IMO the 1.5 petrol is great and better fuel economy than previous generations, but the additional torque would assist with the wind resistance in order to maintain uphill momentum when fully loaded.

  • @froudos

    You did not reverse there at 3:30. There is no need to lie just to prove that you tested the vehicle enough. At first I thought it was too obvious because of the reverse indicators not glowing but then i thought "Nah, he is just going backwards in neutral"... In the end, I noticed the fault on the montage at 3:42. Well played

    • @RoamOverlanding
      @RoamOverlanding  5 років тому +1

      Hey Manos, good eye for spotting it! It was actually just too dangerous to film... Shandelle wanted to be inside the car, and I had to do the driving. I just wanted to have a clip to kind of show what was going on, so when I was talking about it that there was a relevant clip to see. Its the branch that also gives it away :) Its not lieing about testing the vehicle, its actually just story telling, that what your ears hear and your eyes see, make sense. But great job on the keen eye!

    • @RoamOverlanding
      @RoamOverlanding  5 років тому +1

      Indeed it is! :) But its no woopsie, it was just to help tell the visual story because we couldnt film the reversing because it was abit too dangerous to be worrying about cameras.
