What is Tu b'Av? How is it celebrated? What do we need to do on this day? I answer these questions as well as discuss why it is a festive day for the Jewish people and do a little dive into the history of this day.

I love learning more about Jewish holidays. My teachers here in Germany always tried their best to educate us on Jewish holidays. But they (not being Jewish themselves) didn’t know about those „minor“ holidays. So I love to learn more about them now. Especially as a German I feel somewhat obligated to learn about Judaism as much as I can so thank you for helping me in that journey.

In Israel Tu-Be'av is a big thing. Except for the the regular chug HaAhava stuff in the shops etc it's a time when people make alot of effort to match up singles that r finding it harder to find the one special one for them. As for me it's mine and my husbands 26th anniversary 😉💜

I've never heard of this holiday. All of Jewish holidays sound super fun. I get gifts for my birthday and Christmas. So (NOV 30th), and DEC 25th, I get gifts. I always have tons of winter clothing. Because my dad will buy me sweaters.

It’s a great idea but we don’t share a language so conversion between us needs a translator
I would find an interview with her interesting as well, but of course only if she would like to . I know privacy is important to your family if you read this Chana, and that not everyone enjoys being or speaking on camera.

I love when you do videos on different holidays and observances. My classroom assistant and I, at the beginning of each month, now look up all the various religious holidays and observances for that month. We write them on the classroom calendar. Then when the kids ask about the day, we stop and take time and do a little teaching moment. This way the kids get to know about the special days increasing their knowledge of various cultures and religions.

@@jaroffireflies I love those pop ups.Do you all celebrate thanksgiving? I bought 2 dozen at Amazon, since my kids don’t live close they really like them. They usually leave them up about a month. If you do celebrate thanksgiving, I’ll be more than happy to send a 🦃 one to “ Chana’s kids” what about trick or treat? I have a dradle one … but you have to put it together lol. It is flat but with some folding it becomes a dradle.

This is one holiday I’ve not heard of. (Sounds like minor feast days in the Catholic faith)

Hi Chana: I'm always both interested about, and fascinated by, Jewish holidays, especially the lesser well-known ones. This holiday sounds fun and romantic; I'm sure your husband will get you a lovely bouquet..they always are, even on Shabbat. It's a beautiful gesture. It's nice that he and your MIL are doing the cooking. With three other kiddos, you have some time to enjoy baby Firefly. You know how quickly that first year passes. I consider myself a life long learner….or as my 42 yr old says (yikes) I got married young but had him after 5 years of marriage, he tells me all the time, I know a little bit about a lot of things. Oh well he could say I was a dummy but I’m his mother he would not dare.

What a neat holiday! Sounds like a Valentines Day- type holiday! ❤️ That June’s Journey is right up your alley since you love cozy mysterious!!! Looks like fun! My mom did something like that years ago where she had to find objects and she couldn’t miss a day. We had to go to a McDonald’s one evening to get on their WiFi so she could complete the day’s task! 😂😂 Long nights=more Torah study?? That works for me! I am so excited! I just re wives my DNA test kit! I honestly, hold you so close to my heart. I've enjoyed your videos for quite a while, now and have been going back to watch and rewatch earlier videos. The biggest reason for my admiration for you, your family and videos is the way you think of your children. The way you love them and include them and especially protect them is the most important thing I've witnessed on a family channel and I don't think anyone else is as vigilant about their children's safety. In truth, I love seeing,tiny humans so much but in truth, I never need to see their faces or know their names to enjoy a channel. I don't believe other channels are wrong for the way they include their kidlets while filming, but I would do it the same way you do it. I hope I'm not offending anyone, I dearly love other family channels as well but they're are some I refuse to watch because they splay every personal event for their children all over the videos for views and it makes me extremely uncomfortable for the kiddos. I cannot watch those...ok. That's enough...soon, I will confirm that I am 4,000% Norwegian! Take care and Never lose sight of your bliss...
