Sometimes what a synthesizer CAN'T do makes it a better instrument than what it CAN. "CAN" puts you on the beaten path and makes your music sound like everyone else's. "CANT" pushes you to find creative solutions that lead to unique style.
A grand piano takes a lot of man-hours to build. The materials are very expensive, tuning is very complex and takes many hours. You can't really compare a synth to a piano. It's like comparing a car to an aeroplane.
The Cat Keyboard is great for modding. I'd love to get one and mod it myself. Once I get things sorted out at gome I'm going to get one and mod it myself. Cheers ✌️
@@synthsamuraiproductions yes. If you want to have a look at modding, check out Simon The Magpie. He's Swedish and does lots of modding. He also makes short-run batches of pedals that are ...unusual 😁
My setup with the mellotron mini is output into a chase bliss blooper, into a strymon volante, into a line 6 dl4, into a strymon bigsky, and then into a boomerang looper pedal
@synthsamuraiproductions now if you got rid of the blooper pedal you could fit your liven ambient (impressed with that) on the case, that is a whole setup which I think has the possibility to produced more interesting results than just a synth setup
@synthsamuraiproductions absolutely! We need to see more mellotron's going into the microcosm. It would also look so cool sitting on the case as both are white. I wanted to get that chase bliss 1978 reverb pedal as it fits perfectly on the mini case and is white, just the price at the moment
The Korg Ps3100 has one board of 49 voices, The Korg Ps3300 has three boards of 48 voices, that's 144 voices oscillators !!!!! It's comes from fare away over Jupiter and Mars...
The Polybrute 12 keys are better than 6, but definitely not the best feeling keys, just most expressive. Muse has new firmware, and it still sometimes freaks out and needs a reboot. Polybrute 12 no issues, more patches two filters.
Korg sells a lot of lower priced gear to do weird one offs, and not have any issue selling only a few. It is basically a marketing budget to do the Odd one offs. They actually do a lot of cooler shit than Roland. Roland only does cool things in the Boss pedal division.
Ok, I'm back with my thoughts on the Mellotron. The original Mellotron is cool as heck, an insane over the top idea. Brilliant and ahead of the time. The new digital ones, not into it at all. It's just a mid level pc with a VST and a bad interface and all 3 of them are way over priced because they're a "Mellotron" It's a digital representation of the Mellotron. The original used tape and like 60 magnetic tape heads It would literally be impossible for them to sound like the original. If you dig it go for it bro, 100%, if it was me, I'd search for a VST and play it from my PC and a nice keyboard. I mean it's cool because it's recordings of original, actual instruments. If I was scoring a soundtrack or needing real sounds, but It's def not my jam. And hey, I'm pumped to learn about old gear. It was great to learn about it and how the old ones work, it's mind blowing how they were made, thanks bro.
great but not about Stop buying Synthesizers Ps: i agree with the chat... Either Speak or Eat ... to speak with mouth full doesn't make great sound like a Mellotron
@@synthsamuraiproductions oh yes your right in the begining he stop you from buying Melotron.... eating & speaking is SP lol... if he stops you from buying, you stop him from eating (in live shows) 😂

Love watching you, but you are high loving the mini moog, but not the muse. Polybrute we'll go down as a legendary keyboard, but the synth engine itself is OK not legendary at all. Agree on the pro 3, it's probably the best mono synth in history, why would anyone buy anything else? Cough. Like a minimoog cough. I have owned a polybrute 6 and played many many hours on it. I own a muse. I can tell you right now it's night and day. But I loved the polybrute interface. If they come out with a midi keyboard that would be amazing
