I actually started a rabbit business Bc of you and it turned into a six figure job so thx for inspiring me (I have 45 bunnies in an air conditioned shed )
For you to even say that that’s something. Our animals are happy and loved. They have a fresh supply of clean water 24 seven food twice a day hay, and toys they also live in wire bottom cages that are 12 gauge to where it doesn’t hurt their hocks, and if it were to their are mats in there for them to lay on. they get treats and fruit once every two weeks and they get veggies twice a week, and they get free roam time every three days and for 30 rabbits that something
I feel such an honor that your channel found its way into my life. It's so cool to watch you in your construction capabilities. Your definitely a keeper in my book. You have given your rabbit habitat a very personal and presentable eye appeal. Thank you for posting this progress and process.
I absolutely love your stackable cage side kit. I so want to do this for now on for my stackable cages. Thank you for sharing, till next time God Bless.
Nice project, I recommend using a pressure washer with a disinfectant than flame burner because some of those metals are rust resistant due to the hardening process so if you heat the metal you end up changing the metal properties and the metal will rust in no time
Very detailed. I'm not a carpenter so everything I build is a test in "me learning" what works. I watch a lot of how to videos. Thanks, very good and a lot of help.
Using fire will burn off the galvanized zinc coating that protects the wire cages from rusting so quickly. To prevent wood from cracking and splitting while putting in screws it's best to predrill holes slightly smaller than the screws that you're using. This is critical if you happen to be doing anything with hardwoods.
This is SO helpful, thank you! I have been raising rabbits since 2003, but I've always just rigged up the cages however I could without any building skills. This actually looks doable, and I love that you explained and showed everything. I have Champagnes currently and love them! Your Cremes are so pretty.
I love my trays, but that's because of my setup (and i may be jumping ahead by not watching the entire video). I have a rabbitry system that allows the trays to be tilted enough backwards to collect debris into a gutter. Once a day I spray the gutters down into a collection bin that sorts out the diluted urine and fecal pellets. Diluted urine wont hurt any flora when poured and the pellets go into the fertilizer compost.
I saw a youtube of a rabbitry in Uganda that stacked cages, but had a decline slope underneath each cage that fed into a sloped gutter that fed to a container to collect the poop and urine. It seemed to work quite well for them. It cut down on chores.
Love, love, love this! Watching your journey is so much fun! You inspire a lot of us to go out and do things, so our bunnies are thankful for these videos as well. Easy to follow, creative, & fun. Not every day you get to hang out in a cage with your friends and make some cool things. 😉 Also to anyone not sure if they should get the rabbit bell balls, the answer is YES! One of my favorite things is leaving our windows open to listen to them play with these. lol. It’s a small thing that will make your heart so happy, knowing the rabbits are happy! Buy the bell balls, guys! lol.
Your rabbitry looks so cool now. I was subscribed to your channel a while back, But somehow I got deleted. You're recently I found your channel again so I resubscribe. I am so glad I did. I really do enjoy your content your rabbits are beautiful. I started raising rabbits last year with some mixed breed rabbits to see If I would enjoy raising rabbits. Next year I may decide on purchasing purchasing some type of specific breed. I'm retired now so we'll see how things go. Once again great video wonderful looking rabbitry. God bless
think about angled trays that drop into a gutter so scrape into gutter not lifting trays to dump. I saw a system that after scraping just pouring couple 5 gal buckets of water to flush gutter to a tote with a small economical sewage/trash pump that takes waste outside to where you want it. REV RABBITS I believe where i saw it on YT.
Do you have a link where you get your trays from? We’ve tried a few different ways of collecting and its currently not working. Thanks for all your helpful videos!! I have Am Chins and they are not as calm as your rabbits.
Attaboy Girl lol 😂. I like the way you build your cages, from out side to inside. I like the idea of using less space for more products. I'm thinking about raising Rabbits again since I'm semi retire now. So keep up the good work and God bless.
I hate it when people say that rabbits need to be free roam, why would you want a rabbit to free roam anyway? Free roaming can be dangerous for the rabbit and most houses are not set up for it. Cages and hutches are the best way to house rabbits
We started with chickens last year, this year was raised beds, and next will be rabbits. Love you videos, my question do you buy your cages or build from scratch? Thanks
I have had that hutch, the hanging cages, I just found your channel, and I also have stackers cages. I didn't make mine; it was more cost effective to buy 30x30 cages with stacking rails and trays (the kits) from TSC. I will be watching more of your channel, as I have yet the nerve to process a rabbit for fear I will mess up. we raise egg layers, meat birds, turkeys, quail, and rabbits. I don't if I have the right kind of rabbit for meat, we have 100% Dutch (black and white). the person who sold them to us said "yes, meat, sure". but anyways.
I have a soft spot in my heart for the Dutch. I raised them as a 4-H kid for 6 years :) They are a great "small" meat rabbit, but if you find yourself needing more meat you may need to look for a bigger breed. Sounds like you're doing a great job!
I can’t find the pieces of wood laid out anywhere for the stacker. It too me 8 pieces of 2x2x8. Will you show how to cut the wood so I can do a beater job not wasting and getting it down to 6 2x2x8’s. Thank you! -Ms Skeeter
thank you for your reply. Yes. I was looking at the blog for supplies. It said 6 - 2x2x8 I made the cuts but I can’t figure out how to cut the six to get all the cuts needed. It took me 8 - 2x2x8s Thank you, -Ms Skeeter
Love these stackers and think I might copy your design but I have a question. Do you keep your bucks in a totally separate area from the does now or do you use spray guards in their cages. One more question would be is, I thought you liked to use 36" cages for your does. Have you switched sizes now? Do you find the 30" sufficient even with kits?
Bucks are in the same area. No spray guard, I haven’t had any sprayers for a while thankfully! I have twelve 30x30 cages for my breeders/show rabbits and eight 30x36 double modular cages. The double modulars have openings cut in the middle so my does with young litters have essentially 30” x 72” cage space. Once the kits are old enough I move them to the 30” x 7ft growout hutches.
Just curious, what pans do you use? Looking at the cost of them. Also, could you leave them for a few days or would the pans fill up with manure? Do they need emptied every day?

@eternalsleepingyou don’t think rabbits suffer in the wild? They are a prey animals. Would you prefer them to get torn to shreds by a coyote?
Another Teal Stone masterpiece!
What an amazingly simple and beautiful design Tiffany 👏

I saw a system in Uganda, Africa like that, but they sloped the gutter into a bucket to collect everything.

Nice 👍🏼
Great video. Thank you for sharing. I love the set up.
That’s so I love it😅
Do you sale your rabbit?
Great video. I read about putting worm boxes under the bottom cages. You put hay on top of the worm box to catch the urine

Try a decline slope under the cages that feeds into a sloped gutter that feeds into a bucket. Auto collection with gravity
Flat tin or steel suspended under the cages spilling into eaves troughs works very well for controlling waste.
That is how I had my cages several years ago! Just can’t do it when the cages are triple stacked. Unless I want to climb to the top row every day 😂
next time you build with wood rub a little bar soap on the threads of your screws and it will help with not splitting the wood great videos !!
