Yes! I got my first doe bred. The previous owner said she was due 3/5.. no hair pulling no babies. I had pretty much given up and was planning to remove her nest box 3/11.. I go out that morning and it’s full of hair.. she had 5 kits after noon that day. Sooo glad I didn’t pull the box out earlier. But other than being super grumpy there was no evidence she was bred.. so she pulled all that hair between my last check at 8pm the night before and 8am the next morning.
@@TealStoneHomesteadI am so worried, but after finally coming across your channel I feel like maybe my rabbit won’t die or her bunnies. I have only ever had 1 rabbit at a time as a pet. I bought 2 so they could keep each other company, but was lied to about them being the same sex. There’s so many questions I have and no time. I found her “nesting and filling her hair” today and learned she must be pregnant. If there is anyway you would or could reach out to me hopefully in time , I’d really appreciate it
This was a huge help. Orginally I got 2 bunnies, who they said were both girls, and then out popped 2 babies! One passed away, and the mother also passed, so I was left with 2 males. I then rescued 2 more bunnies who were supposed to be males from an abusive home. Now the doe of the pair is pregnant (The other doe is infertile). I now have 4 bunnies, one is 28 days pregnant. This is a huge help! Thank you!
My Rabbit had her first litter(with us, she is a rescue) 12 babies, one of which was still born and one looked crushed. She had them while I was away. I came home the next day and she was So proud of her babies. She was always great with us picking them up and now (week 7) she wants to be out of her playpen as much as possible. The has a good size area, about 6 x 12 with a couple upper levels so she can get away from them but now they are taking over the upper levels. 😂
I know this is an old video but I got to say this was so helpful My holland lop female just gave birth and this video and part 1 really helped me what to do tysm!❤

Thank you very much for the education I learned from your video. I appreciate your time in making this. God bless you and your homestead greatly.
I really love your rabbitry maam and I like your set up to their cage and the "divider" or where the cage pits its so very nice thank you maam from Philippines
Thanks for making this video. Really helps people like us who have never had bunnies before. We didn't know our girl was pregnant and we woke up to babies dead on the floor of the cage- (we thought she was too young to breed and she was around a male). We hadn't provided a nest box and we think maybe they were trampled because it was not cold in there at all. Also they are angora but we had just shaved her that night! So it was just a bad series of events. Anyway... armed with some knowlege now I think we will be ready. I hope she will use the nest box. We are nervous but I feel like you covered everything. I will leave her alone, the only thing I plan to do is place the babies in the nest box IF she doesn't make a nest or has them on the floor of the cage. Anyway... thank you so much for the video. I'm watching it several times!
I really like peg board in the bottom of a nest box just like hers. Leave the hardware cloth just a little loose and not stampled down at the back. Slide a cut to size piece of peg board in. Can slide out and leave it in the sun between litters it cleans right off
@@Jades.Working.K9s Wow that's impressive. Just getting into rabbit raising - we have 2 doe and a buck and I can't imagine getting them that friendly. The buck is more engaged than the females
@@Jades.Working.K9s That makes sense. We got them around 12 weeks and they went crazy the first day, couldn't open the cage in fear they would jump out. They are so much better now, we can pet and handle them, but the females prefer to be left alone. Thanks!
What a comforting voice, and beautiful, informative video. Thank you. 😊 I just got a female albino bunny at work, 7 days ago. I've been doing all the research that I can, so that I can take the best care of her. So this video really helped to educate me, along with others that I've watched here on UA-cam, since having Genesis. I've been feeding her a half a cup of fresh organic, baby spinach, a quarter size of organic, shredded, carrots, ( 🥕once so far), 3 organic blueberries, (twice so far), with a half a cup pellet, Timothy hay mix on top, water, and I've given her 3 Nickel shaped, and sized carrots flavored bunny treats once. I did bathe her once, I was unaware that I didn't need to at the time. I found out later from some UA-cam videos, how clean bunny's are! She was free roaming in my room, but two days ago my mother said she couldn't remain in the house, ( because of the poop), so she's been inside of a carry soft cage, inside of the garage. I'm worried, because I live in Southern CA, in a desert, and it's been very windy, and cold, especially at night, it's between 34-42 degrees. I'm thinking about maybe returning her to the family that gave her to me. I suffer from sle lupus, and severe ocd, so she was really bringing joy into my life, and helping me with major depression, anxiety, negative thinking, and stress. I was actually feeling happiness, and joy! I don't want to be selfish though, and have her suffer living in a cold dark at night garage, when she could go back to a loving environment with freedom, and tons of other rabbits, and bunnies. ( the people who gave her to my sister and I, breed their rabbits frequently, and they free roam in the backyard, and house).I really appreciate your knowledge on rabbits/ bunny's. And I thank you very much for sharing with us. Any advice you could give me, I'd really appreciate it. I did subscribe to your channel, and thank you again very much! Have a beautiful morning. 😍 🐰🐇 💘 ☮
Yes. Palpating is very difficult! And my does often dont eat their pellets a few days before they give birth. I had two does give birth almost the same day as yours. Just one blue out of 18 babies! I have chocolates and chocolate carriers I just acquired. Cant wait until I have some great colors! As always thanks for the great video and being an inspiration!

I have two female sisters as a bonded pair and I rescued another from becoming someone's dinner and I was told it was female. Turns out it was a male and one of my does gave birth to 7+ babies. I found 2 dead on the floor and one dead missing half it's body. I found her wonderful nest and there's squirmy little babies in there.
Awesome content. Your videos have such high production value. Wonderfully edited. You show a lot of finer points that are only spoken of and not filmed by other content producers.
I haven't gotten rabbits yet, I just wanted to do some research before actually getting them, and I have a few questions. 1) How much handling is too much handling in pregnant/kindling does? 2)If your rabbit does not eat at all, what do you do about it? 3) Do you collect rabbit feces and use them in your garden? How? Thank you for this really informative video, it really cleared some things up!
I made your nest box, got 6 two day old kits in it. Mama is a newb, so she doesn't know she's supposed to pluck, but she made a nice nest out of the straw I stuffed in there for her. Her first time, she wouldn't let her buck mount her more than once, so she only had 1 and it died, I think because I forgot to give her hay in time and it just got lost in the jumble of hay after I added it.
Love the setup as always! During winter you can slide cardboard under the nesting box between the bottom of the hutch and box.. would achieve the same goal for insulation and should make it a lot easier to remove without disturbing the babies and nest so much. Just an idea! Thanks for the videos!!!
It’s a good idea in theory! I might try to jimmy-rig something in the future. The problem is my does, who like to pull the cardboard out from under and fling it around 🤦♀️😂

Also thanks for the nest box dimensions on the blog, our cages are arriving in the next 2 weeks and I’m planning to build them so that’s a great help to make sure I don’t go too big or small.

We had doe delivered 11 babies on wire. All dead. Sad day. She didn’t even pull hair for nest. We have two more to deliver today. Hoping for better results😢
I always cut about six pieces of cardboard and replace with clean when they get up to around 6 days because it gets wet. Getting the nest box right is so important.
Hi Tiffany, I just found your utube channel. You are a great teacher. The information is very valuable. I do not have experience with bunnies but have the desire to have a rabbitry. Thank you so much. I have subscribed to your channel. I am looking forward to new videos & view your older ones as well. Thank you!
I'm so glad about being able to touch them! I had my first litter a couple days ago and when I look under the fur to check for dead ones I'm always anxious about touching them. This is great advice
You can touch them as your smell is all around whatever it's inside or outside and when the doe knows you aldready and your smell, I had 3 litters and just got number 4 yesterday which didn't much expect since wanted to stop having litter but here we go again and she got 7. 😍🥰
thank you for this!!! we found out one of my bunnies is a boy (we were told both girls) and now the doe is going to have babies soon! she started pulling hair the other day so i ran to the store and got a nesting box. pretty nervous i’m going to do something wrong, but i’ve been researching like a mad man 😂
I didn’t even know my doe was pregnant. I thought I had two girls in the cage until yesterday when I came home from work and I noticed all this hair all over the place and I’m very uneducated on bunnies so I was going to clean it all up and a baby came out of the bed so my rabbit had 4 babies and one was dead so right now she’s feeding three and mine are Holland lops
I use the cardboard in the nest box too, but my does won't leave it in when I line it on the inside. So I've been stapling the cardboard to the bottom instead and it works so much better and it's still easy to remove.
I'm so excited for this video! It's my dream to get back into raising rabbits one day, and I'm learning a lot from you! We had rabbits when I was a kid, but we never intentionally breed them. Mine got bred once when the male in the connected cage chewed through the divider to get to her lol.
@@TealStoneHomestead Thank you! I definitely miss it, so it's awesome to be able to live vicariously through your videos (no pressure lol! Just meant I'm enjoying them). :)
Glad I found you channels my rabbit had babies 2 and they was deadl I don't know why so I need to remove her from the boy or something I don't know so I watch you to find out what to do
I know you have a ton of comments but first time pregnant mama bunny owner here and I stumbled on your video afterward unfortunately 😢 my mama gave birth in her box and I didn’t have bedding or hay in there, I added it shortly after, but upon walking up to her cage she jumped out super fast , the babies weren’t as active at all how yours were acting and I just don’t know if it was my fault for not having the bedding right, or for startling her , or if they were already barely moving and wouldn’t have made it anyway. I didn’t know I could touch them so I only added bedding around them, mom later covered them but by morning all were gone. Ice cold. This was her first litter and all 5 died. It was so heartbreaking for us.
I have 2 pregnant does at 27 days that bunk together, when did you separate your pair and did it stress them out more to be apart from each other? I have read that if they're both pregnant you can keep them together, but I'm not sure how that will go. Have you tried it?
Thank you for the great information! I shared your UA-cam video in an Angora Rabbit group. 👍 your videos have been SO HELPFUL for me as a new rabbit owner. I have 5 now (3 English Angoras and 2 Germans) and hope to breed them in the fall. They’re just babies. ❤️
Angoras are BEAUTIFUL! I commend people willing to take on that breed, they’re a lot of work but they’re such useful rabbits. Thank you so much for sharing! ❤️
That was fantastic and I know this was a few weeks ago but still want to say congratulations on all those beautiful babies! Mine just had 2 three days ago and they are doing great!
What do I do if the babys belly is NOT a balloon? My first time Mom delivered early this morning or last night and one is quite small and another did not have a balloon tummy at the last check. I will check again in the morning but want to know what to do if someone is struggling.
My harli rex just had 8 on Tuesday, and your videos have helped. Also have helped educate my family who think the kits are going to freeze down here in FL lol.
Would I be helpful to place the cardboard under the nesting box? Then it would be easily removed. Or is it better to have the barrier between the mesh and babies? Mine surprised us with a litter so I'll be watching more of your videos!
I was not able to get one of those nesting boxes... The people at tractor supply gave us a chicken one and said it would work, so hopefully it does! I should have gotten one before but I did not realize it would take so long to get here, so hopefully, this works! thanks for the video!
Thank you for this wonderful video. My doe just had her first litter of 12 kits. This is my first time raising kits. I dont know if she can fed all the 12 kits properly. So how long can kits go without being fed?
Your videos are very well made and I love that your herd is multi-purpose. I'm looking into getting rabbits since we live in 0.33 acres. Would love more videos about raising them for meat (when you separate bucks from does at 8 weeks where do you put them all? Or do you cull them) or how you keep pedigree/breeding records.
A meat???? You plan to give them love a d affection and then slaughtered them and eat??? That's one part of it...another those animals are not clean for a human to eat... They eat own excriments hence are not healthy to consume. But do what you want after all this sentence is Alistair Crowley's only law to follow ! Make sure you will rip consequences in diseases. Enjoy!
Oh what a fantastic idea with the nesting box having that "scraper" piece on the front! I need to build some like that, especially after this morning! We unfortunately lost a 7 day old kit this morning. I found the little one frozen on the wire next to the front of the box. ='( They've been moving up to the front of the box the last couple of days. Your design is also good for when they get to popping all over the place, especially when mom comes close to the box. Lol
My bunny had a surprise litter! I woke up today and she had four, three passed away because they were scattered and got too cold before I noticed she had them. One is still alive but I’m worried about him being too cold during the night without any siblings :/
Also handling newborn bunnies to while they grow is good because they get socialised sooner, I think. People still use old wives tale that rabbit will eat/abandon babies . It's meant to keep small children from babies not to hurt them when handling
Greeting from Trinidad love ur videos in the Caribbean it is rainy and sunny so my doe and buck are always happy Wish I could get a pair of ur silverfox kits but the shipping is VERYYYYYY cost so I jus love watching them here lol

We had doe delivered 11 babies on wire. All dead. Sad day. She didn’t even pull hair for nest. We have two more to deliver today. Hoping for better results😢
Excellent video. The babies are adorable. Information is spot on. 👍🏾
Thank you so much! 😊
Thank you!
Thank you so much! these videos have REALLY helped us!
This is so cute of those cute baby rabbits 🥰😻🥰😻 bless yall 🥰😍☺️😍
I'm so glad about being able to touch them! I had my first litter a couple days ago and when I look under the fur to check for dead ones I'm always anxious about touching them. This is great advice
Good luck to you! 😊
You can touch them as your smell is all around whatever it's inside or outside and when the doe knows you aldready and your smell, I had 3 litters and just got number 4 yesterday which didn't much expect since wanted to stop having litter but here we go again and she got 7. 😍🥰
This is very educational! Thank you. My Mini Rex, Jessie should be kindling any day now. This will be my first litter of babies.
So glad it was helpful! Good luck to you and Jessie 😊
@@TealStoneHomestead Thank you so much!
Thank you this helped me a lot my doe gave birth to Trios 1 white 1 grayish white 1 black white God Bless you
Just found you! Came across this video randomly, consider me subscribed! Awesome work! Thank you
thank you for this!!! we found out one of my bunnies is a boy (we were told both girls) and now the doe is going to have babies soon! she started pulling hair the other day so i ran to the store and got a nesting box. pretty nervous i’m going to do something wrong, but i’ve been researching like a mad man 😂
Good luck!! 😊
Same thing happened to us. Now we are here lol

This has just happened to us no idea when she fell pregnant but under 2 weeks left

Thanks so much for this video series, so much good info for a new rabbit owner!
I'm so excited for this video! It's my dream to get back into raising rabbits one day, and I'm learning a lot from you! We had rabbits when I was a kid, but we never intentionally breed them. Mine got bred once when the male in the connected cage chewed through the divider to get to her lol.
Hope you can get into rabbits soon! They are seriously so much fun ❤️ I’m glad to be helpful to you 😊
@@TealStoneHomestead Thank you! I definitely miss it, so it's awesome to be able to live vicariously through your videos (no pressure lol! Just meant I'm enjoying them). :)
Glad I found you channels my rabbit had babies 2 and they was deadl I don't know why so I need to remove her from the boy or something I don't know so I watch you to find out what to do
they say you learn something new everyday...i feel smarter :)
I have rabbits. When my 2 does were pregnant I didn't palpate them. Thet both had a normal birth. The baby bunny's were just fine.
Had a bunch of cedar shavings from project I was gonna use, thanks for the save!
I just had an accidental litter. Only thing I did was move my other female from the hutch since they shared it. So hopefully it help. Love the video
I have 2 pregnant does at 27 days that bunk together, when did you separate your pair and did it stress them out more to be apart from each other? I have read that if they're both pregnant you can keep them together, but I'm not sure how that will go. Have you tried it?
This is so helpful!! Thanks for all the information 🐰
Good morning Madam, I'm an upcoming farmer.
Please how can I get Angorans.
We don't have it in Nigeria.
It would mean so much
❤so Cute My Bunny. Still has babies in her tummy I want them already out but they’re still in her tummy II love your video itIs so cute
You’re a good bunny mommy ❤️❤️❤️
That was fantastic and I know this was a few weeks ago but still want to say congratulations on all those beautiful babies! Mine just had 2 three days ago and they are doing great!
Thank you so much and congratulations! ❤️
Florida, haha 😂
Thanks for the stuff because me and someone else have rabbits and we thought to give the birth but we need to seperate
Outstanding! Semper Fidelis
Hi Tiffany. Greetings from Central London
Thanks for the rabbit info, really helpful, but your eyes are extremely beautiful. Hello from Antigua Guatemala from OsoYolo.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience.
my rabbit just had babies yesterday!!! wooohhooo thanks again for your advice :)
Yay!! Good luck!! 😊
Thank you for the video, very interesting and cute rabbits.
Thanks, very helpful for my first litter of rabbits is coming soon.
Would I be helpful to place the cardboard under the nesting box? Then it would be easily removed. Or is it better to have the barrier between the mesh and babies? Mine surprised us with a litter so I'll be watching more of your videos!
I really luv your Rabbit setup... M also having 3units of rabbit .... It's really cool
What do you when your rabbits hate you and look at you like they want to chew your arm off? Lol
I was not able to get one of those nesting boxes... The people at tractor supply gave us a chicken one and said it would work, so hopefully it does! I should have gotten one before but I did not realize it would take so long to get here, so hopefully, this works! thanks for the video!
I make mine! I have a 1-minute video on my nest boxes on my channel 😊
I love all your bunnies and the babies are cute
Thank you for this wonderful video. My doe just had her first litter of 12 kits. This is my first time raising kits. I dont know if she can fed all the 12 kits properly. So how long can kits go without being fed?
Great video. Thank you. I'm wondering how you get the bunnies back in the cage after they free roam?
My first time sf doe is due on the 6th! Hoping for some blues and that she turns out to be a good mom!
That’s so exciting! Good luck to you! 😊
Enjoy!
I love your presentation thank you
Oh what a fantastic idea with the nesting box having that "scraper" piece on the front! Lol
Absolutely! I’m so sorry about the baby that you lost 😢 my does also like to lean on the lip of the nest box to check on their babies 🥰
@tealstonehomestead what do you have hanging above all the cages? 😊
My bunny had a surprise litter! I woke up today and she had four, three passed away because they were scattered and got too cold before I noticed she had them. One is still alive but I’m worried about him being too cold during the night without any siblings :/
Hi. I like your set up it's v neat and clean. What size are the cages u use and wat size are ur breeding boxes. Thank you
One video in, and one bit of advise don't change a thing i love your videos
Also handling newborn bunnies to while they grow is good because they get socialised sooner, I think. People still use old wives tale that rabbit will eat/abandon babies . It's meant to keep small children from babies not to hurt them when handling
Greeting from Trinidad love ur videos in the Caribbean it is rainy and sunny so my doe and buck are always happy
Wish I could get a pair of ur silverfox kits but the shipping is VERYYYYYY cost so I jus love watching them here lol
My rabbit Smokey is 8months and is breed her 2 weeks ago for the first time wish me luck!
Thank you so much for your videos. You have taught me alot.
Awes your bunny's are so so so cute aww
