Why would she buy her minor, angry, drug dealer son a gun? She needs to be held accountable for her part in her older son’s death.
Bc she’s a shit mother, and has zero respect for her husband.
Guns are an issue but not as much of an issue as parents like this who do not parent.
We had a gun in our house as children but from the get-go we were instructed and monitored by our dad on not handling it, it's not a toy and the responsibility of gun ownership. When we were old enough, we were taught how to safely fire a gun if the occasion ever came up that it was needed to protect a life. Had we ever exhibited this angry, irresponsible behavior, we would never had access to the gun.
@@lemoniefish Damn, copy pasting on various comments?
That just happened in Wisconsin, I think! A school shooter’s parents that bought him a gun. First case in the country. BOTH were convicted and sentenced to prison (forgot how long). Their child had been displaying signs of mental illness that they ignored, even after the boy asked them for help!
I had my son in 1980 and didn’t even allow toy guns in the house until he was 12. I would never have thought to purchase a gun for myself, much less him. Parents need to communicate with each other IMHO.
“He dealt with a lot of shady and dangerous characters”??
He forgot to mention that _he_ was one of the “shady and dangerous characters!”
Jup, he's the one knocking.
Like when families say, he got in with the wrong crowd. He is the wrong crowd WTF.
Don’t want to lose the 2nd son, Riley gets away and away and away with everything. Poor Pat, in death his parents aren’t protecting him either. I’ll never understand that.
Idk the dad seems like he’s losing his mind cuz he knows he lost both his sons cuz of his wife or probably ex wife. Kinda fell bad for the guy.
I blame Patrick himself. I was ready to leave my parents' home when I was 14 if it weren't for a high school (boarding). I could see that it wasn't a perfect place for me anymore. Some spoilt brats would put up with bullshit for the rest of their lives because they are scared of facing life! And not wanting to let go of easy money. I am sure Pat had grandparents, an uncle or even a family friend to live with away from the intoxicating family. Everybody can see when the family they were born in isn't the same.. especially when they begin to support a troublesome member! I would have left.
@@josephgomalo41Pretty shitty to blame the guy who lost his life here. Whether or not you left, doesn’t mean the next person will move the same way you did.
Well, he's gone and Riley is still alive. They'll never get their other son back, but they don't want to lose their only other son too. It makes sense to me.
Their selfish desire to have their son with them after he murdered their other son is INFURIATING.
This kid has a problem. Society is going to have to deal with him again in the future.
Agreed
His future is already decided, he is a convict, he is not going anywhere, he will either go to prison or die in the hands of the dealers. Cops are going to be on his tail for the rest of his life.

@@feliciaowens4094 Yes dear, criminals don't just pop out of nowhere. They are the influence of what their elders are. Thinking of killing somebody's life alone, takes away your soul. Where is the question of killing someone practically
No doubt this dude gets out of jail and just goes back to what he was doing before
The mother’s negligence cannot be ignored here. “Well I need to protect myself mom if I’m going to do my shady drug dealing” how about don’t be a drug dealer?
Dad wasn't any better. He was absent af and didn't know anything about what was happening in his own family and home.
Elaine was the worst kind of enabling mom. You have a 16 year who dropped out of school and is selling drugs and you buy him a gun?! Nobody stood up for Patrick, especially the crap his father was spewing. Drug dealers and drunk drivers get more prison time than this punk who murdered someone. Anyone that fell for him saying it was an accident must not have an older sibling. RIP Patrick, sorry your family failed you. You had great potential in changing the future
Exactly! At first I felt bad for the father and then I got to the end and was like wtf is he even on about? Stating all prison will do is to punish him (DURRRR) and revenge. If it were up to these two dingbat parents Riley would be out, selling weed and given guns again . They act like Riley was getting the death penalty and yet they can go visit him in prison . While poor Patrick will never see another sunrise, never get married or have children. Honestly these crap parents are the very reason why Patrick is dead. They've never held Riley accountable for anything and that's why he is the way that he is. Absolutely insufferable people.
Drunk drivers get off easy
She should have been prosecuted, too.
Oh, I know! What about charging the mother for buying her son a handgun?
He is cold as ice. I think he is a Psychopath and His acting skills did not improved, after he did time in prison. Im hypersensitive and i can sense no feelings in this Guy!

@@derekfutrell4908 And they'll continue as long as she does. An enabler can harm her child's future. Co-dependent for life.
As a once-firearms instructor (I'm now disabled and can no longer hold classes). I have seen all types of people make mistakes when handling semi-automatics. I've seen people rack the slide, remove the mag, then reinsert the mag and then put it into their range bag. When I would inquire, they told me, "Oh, there's no round in the chamber, I just ejected the round"... I would show them they did the process backward. This was with people who had used that SAME pistol dozens of times properly in my presence on the range. Sometimes people either get complacent and don't double check to make sure it's unloaded or they had "a brain fart" and simply did the unloading process backward. I've seen all sorts of mistakes - if it could be made, I've seen it done over the course of the ten years I instructed others on firearms use.
Of course, all the firearm safety rules would be repeated: Always treat the gun as if it's loaded. Never point a gun at anything or anyone you do not want to destroy. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire. Keep the barrel pointed downrange at all times, etc.
Following the rules means even if you forgot to unload the gun, not pointing it at someone, not having your finger on the trigger... those rules would keep un accidents from happening. The main point I'm getting at is I have seen people THINK they have unloaded a semi-auto pistol when in fact they reloaded the pistol just as this kid said. I'm not saying that's what happened, but I have witnessed it in person. A slight distraction and a "brain fart" and the gun is "unloaded" backwards, actually loading the gun. I've never had anyone shoot another person before, but all I am referring is the mishandling of the loading process has happened unintentionally.
Also, the fact that kid kept saying "decocking" instead of "racking" makes me believe he truly did not know how to fully operate that pistol. Decocking is a process some pistols feature, but it has nothing to do with the slide being racked.
Ultimately, the kid should not have had the gun. His MOM should not have bought him the gun. 9th grade dropout... and Mom buys him, a known drug dealer a handgun? Bad call, Mom.
I think that's exactly what Riley did. The strong circumstantial evidence that he didn't want to kill his brother was the fact he only shot once, in watching a lot of these crime videos they never shoot once because they are in a rage unless it's completely premeditated and to the head assassination style. I don't believe Riley however because he lied about how he got the guns and that he wasn't a drug dealer.
I admire your knowledge and expertise!! I was in the Canadian Armed Forces for years until I became injured and we were drilled with gun safety!! I also was taught with hand guns from the military on a short course and from another agency that I had access to!! I am super angry with this mother!! Knowing her husband's feelings, stance on guns, and rules, she completely ignored and betrayed him for her sons gratification!! Knowing her son's situation, she should have taken a more common sense approach telling son that the guns and drugs were either gone that night or she was going to report him to his father and police!! Had she done this, her other son would still be alive today!!
As for the father, one minute he is furious with hearing about the guns and drugs, but when his horrible son murders his amazing son, suddenly he defends his horrible son, forgetting why they were in court in the first place....to get justice for his amazing murdered son!! Justice was not served and the mother should have been convicted for aiding and abetting an individual for criminal purposes!!😮
Finally someone talking some common sense.
I firmly believe Riley knew in that instant he messed up. I also believe there was a strong bias to prosecute him because he was a problem child.
Way too many firearms in that country. A 16 year old felon? I mean wow.
Parents fail at life then blame the courts and judge. 🤦
Mother finds drugs, then buys him a gun 😳🥴🙄🤦♀️🤡
Yes, she's the mother of the year!
But she didn't like consultation tho!!
That boy is lying. His brother didn't like him having a gun in the house so it's highly unlikely he would be "playing" with it. He went in there to kill him and that is what he did
💯
Okay Sherlock.
@@user-ch6um1vn8xit’s obvious, a pos will do pos things
I wonder if Pats prints were even on the gun seeing as that was what Riley was claiming that they “both” played with it.
I think they were talking about how since Riley didn't get the gun out of the house that when their parents got home he was now going to tell on Riley. Riley then threatens him and Pat doesn't seem scared because who TRULY believes their brother would shoot them?! And then he did.
Why would you get a gun for your son who was known to use drugs?!
Maybe she is just special...
Exactly! I had a teenage son (all grown up now) who used to do things I disagreed with, ie caught him smoking a cigarette and once smoking pot with his friends. I went full boss mom on him. Flushed his pot cigarette, took his tobacco cigarettes, and kept him from ever hanging out with those crappy kids he called "friends." Oh, and one time he had a small pocket knife. Nope. Took that, too. No way in heaven or hell would I have ever let him have a gun! If I had found my teen with a gun, I would have confiscated it, made it a HUGE family drama/deal, called police, etc. That was a massive failure on his parent's part! Poor Pat. RIP Pat.
It sounds like he manipulated her with "I need it for safety coz gangs and shit". Clearly she'd do anything for her kids... but also as clear is that her approach to that was all wrong lol
@@MG-uz5mr but she didn’t tell her husband either. she was hiding it so on some level she knew it was wrong… he was ONLY 16. i have no idea how she stayed out of jail in this case.

The American justice system is about serving punishment for profits, because you're just a number to them. It's why wealthy and/or influential people can get away with so much. In actual 1st world countries, it's about rehabilitation more than anything.
If anything, American prisons make people more violent because they need to be to survive. So once they do get out, they're most likely to reoffend and get back into the system.
Prisons should not exist for punishment, they should exist for reform.
You may argue that some cannot be reformed. That would be quite the minority. Nobody has a good solution for those who cannot be reformed. Capital punishment is not cool. Look at the stats, it's horrific how many innocent people are unalived by the government because a jury was wrong.
Shouldn’t that woman be in jail? She’s not a mum in my books, just awful where is the justice for Pat?
Where's DAD?
If they gave that boy so much how do you think?

Yeah, she gave a weapon to a juvenile. It is illegal for him to have the weapon. Even if he didn't use it, if he just was possessing it, she STILL should have been arrested.
Half the the moms in the ghetto should be arrested in that case, but I'm not holding my breath
Mom should be charged as accessory to a murder
Those parents are why that kid turned out the way he did. Even as the kid murdered their well-behaved child, they are still defending the bad child.
The parents betrayed their dead son, SHAMEFUL!!!!
Yeah, but he's gone. And they are the most affected besides the victim. If the dad says 5 years, that's okay. Because for all we know, it was an honest mistake. The gun and weed literally have NOTHING to do with the murder. Siblings fight. And young people play with guns.

You know, the dad wasn't standing up for Patrick. However, I agree with the ultimate sentence. 2nd degree murder is tricky. Riley was reckless but I don't think there was a disregard for human life. There was a risk of death- there always is with a gun- but I don't think Riley showed extreme indifference. He called the cops, tried to stop the bleeding, was hysterical, punched a glass door with his hand in order for help to enter. Riley showed remorse and seemed honest with the police. I don't think Patrick would have wanted him in prison for that long. Riley was likely high. I think he was a stupid 16 year old who messed up. He's an intelligent person. If he shot his brother intentionally he would have covered it up. That was the first time in his life he was punished. The state has to teach him a lesson because his paren'ts never did.

That's what I was thinking too. YAH's blessings to you.
Where I'm from, a parent buying a gun to their underage child is a felony that carries jail time. Just sayin'.
Textbook case of why you dont play with guns. Its a tool, not a toy.
@evil : Stopmpkaying dumb. You heard him afmit they didnt pike ea. other. How was it an accident ? lol
@@RightToFreedomGirlwhaaattttt? I'm getting a bit dizzy attempting to read that 😬
@@auzieblo dude typed that with his fuckin elbow lmfao
It's not a 'tool', it's a weapon.
@@gigibythesea1133”Instrument” would probably better describe it in most situations.
His mom messed up on that one. She should have told his dad and reported him. If he told her that he would run away, oh, well, he would just have to go!! He's a big boy.
This!! If your son chooses to drop out and become a drug dealer, he is making grown choices and needs grown consequences! She should’ve called the cops when she found the guns and drugs.
He sounded more like he was 40 than 16.
Audio recordings can sometimes change how your voice sounds kinda like talking on the phone can I def sound a lot different on phone calls.
I was small kid in elementary school when Pat was killed. I grew up with him being the best person at the YMCA and my whole family attended his memorial at the YMCA later. So sad to hear that it was more than an accident.
He said that after the shooting, his brother died in 3 minutes. But when he's taken to the ambulance to get checked, he's suddenly histerically asking how his brother is doing?
It seems absurd to me that the person most responsible for this tragedy will not bear any legal accountability. Riley's incredibly indulgent mother, who made so many unbelievably poor choices, will have to live with her son's death for the rest of her life. Unfortunately, she will no doubt blame everyone but herself. Riley's father is a perfect example of an absent father, who knew nothing about what was going on his own home and with his own children. This is American culture today.
I've been a fan of this page basically since the very beginning (under 1K subs in Sept 2020 with my original YT acct) when it was called "FEAR FILES" and you posted a community post asking us/the subs which NEW name we liked the best out of a list of 4 new names and that's when this new name for the channel was chosen. You were already a TOP NOTCH TC channel at that time and here we are several years later and even tho the name of the channel has changed, the content is definitely one of the best TC channela on this platform. It's been really cool to watch the channel grow to what it is today and its only going to grow more. Truly one of the best TC channels out there
KEEP PUSHIN'!!!
🤘🏻🇬🇧
If Riley really want to honor his brother when he gets out dude should do something positive with his life.
This is so similar to what happened to me but thankfully I lived through it. Although, I just had brain surgery to remove a blood clot from my brain stem due to a car wreck about a year before. My hair was still very short. My ex was just as wreckless as this guy & he was playing around with a 🔫 & loaded, unloaded it, shot it a few times. Then, he held it to my head & asked if I trusted him. I said yeah and before I could get the word out he pulled the trigger. He kept on & on saying "I knew it wasn't loaded" I was so upset. A week later his best friend shot a hole through his ceiling bc he knew "it wasn't loaded" I have been beyond lucky in life. RiP Pat.
She should be prosecuted for buying him the gun. He hasn't learned anything. Speech all about him
