Thank you!!! This is so timely for me, as we're finally getting (by January) a big garage and a separate shed that will act as a studio/ guest room. ❤❤❤
Woohoo, glad it came at the right time! Your garage and shed sound really nice! Are you having it build by a contractor, or are you going the pre-fab route, too?
@@ThriftDiving Prefab for the shed. We are having a slab poured for the 30×30 metal garage. It's not fancy, but it's very durable and suitable for here. We can build it ourselves or they will do it for us. For an extra cost, of course. We'd love to do it ourselves, but our time off isn't at the same time these days, so I'll probably pay the extra just to get it done in a timely fashion. 😄
That's awesome to hear! I really wanted to try to put it in a spreadsheet, since the last vinyl video I did for my basement flooring, people were commenting that the math sounded confusing!
I love this! You did a wonderful job and made it look so easy and light. 👏👍😊 Just watching and learning how to use power tools and how different projects from easy to difficult happen and how they are finished it's just really essential for everyone to learn. I rent so I don't own my own home but I always enjoy watching projects like this because it's just learning skills that may come handy at some point and if you are speaking to someone who is into construction you can sound like you know what you're talking about. Lol. 😅
Good luck! The most important thing is to make sure that you do the measurement to make sure that you don't get left with a really small piece at the very end. My other video on vinyl flooring will walk you through the calculation. ua-cam.com/video/DooZka5tgpc/v-deo.htmlsi=m848BEM5pAnrWMPY
Yoooooo Serena!! They said not to lay a floor... Crazy not too. The flooring & trim tied it all in awesomely!! Very well done!! Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!
Hey, my main man, Mike! I know, right--I think Tuff Shed was just trying to cover their butt, you know? In case someone lays a floor and it ends up not being installed properly, they don't want to make any recommendations. Even when I asked their installer on the day they were installing my shed, "Hey, what kind of flooring do you recommend?" he told me that he's technically not allowed to. They tell him not to make recommendations. Isn't that crazy?? Hope I don't have any moisture problems. I do have a dehumidifier that I run in there on "auto" just in case!
Love the floor and love your hair! I wish I could have send this video to my landlord when he came to redo the floor in my kitchen last year... he installed vinyl planks very similar to yours but did a horrible jobs and ALL the seams are sticking out. 😑 Such an eyesore and so inconvenient, whenever I sweep all the dust keeps catching onto the raised edges of the planks. I might try to take a mallet to the seams and see if I can't even them out a bit, but since all the flooring is in I don't think there's a lot of room for it to budge. :(
That's horrible, Anne! That's what happens with the seams when you rush while installing vinyl flooring. Your landlord was just trying to get it done quickly and didn't care, it sounds like. You could definitely try a mallet on the end-to-end seams to see if you can get them to lay better. If there are any gaps, though, you're right--you wouldn't be able to do anything about those because the floor is already installed.
I am about to lay down flooring in my Tuffshed converted into a studio. I am having the vinyl vs. laminate debate (Tuffshed recommended against vinyl). I am curious if you had any issues with moisture since installing the vinyl. I appreciate any input you have and really enjoy your videos! Nice job on the build!!
Good luck! Our flooring after 2 years is peeling, bowing, and seperating. We will never buy it again. It all has to be replaced with hardwood flooring now. We got ours from Menards. Every room in the whole house has these issues. I have to put rugs over all the areas. Horrible!! Good luck!
Awesome flooring and trim video. You installed the flooring like a boss. I would like to see how you make use of wall or vertical storage. The gender neutral shed looks fantastic. More please!
Good directions on how to measure to avoid getting small pieces at the end of a row. Love your floor.
Glad I was able to simplify it for you! :)
