    You forgot to mention that the Panasonic DMW-XLR1 audio interface does not fit! on this cage. I think 8Sinn peeps are working on a fix for this problem.

      On that picture they cut off the cable holder attached to the bottom of the xlr1. I emailed them and they said they are sending me the fix for it. Also the bottom of the XLR1 is hitting the NATO piece and also the Handle bar is too low.

      +Edstreme thanks for mentioning. I've pinned your comment. Since I don't have the interface I never thought about that.

      @Edstreme Any updates on this? I was planning on rigging my GH5 the same way. Thanks!!

      emailed 8sinn and they came out with a handle extender so that all their handles will work with the audio unit. it's on their website in the handles & accessories section

    I ordered my 8Sinn Cage (Scorpio handle rod system for GH5) about 3 weeks ago. I am still waiting for it to arrive here in the US. I was told there was more interest in the product than product available at the time I placed my order. It looks promising.

    • @CinecomCrew

      +VMGIN got the same issue. Waited about 3 weeks too. But they kept me updated through mail pretty well.

    I was looking for a battery solution for both monitor and camera, you have solved my problem! Thank you!

    How do you trigger the camera start/stop? Take your hand off the handle, grab the camera, press the button, then put your hand back on the handle, stabilize, then you're rolling?? Seems like you loose a couple seconds every shot. You'd miss a lot in candid situations.

    Digging that cage. Been thinking of picking one up for my GH5.
    But I did have a good laugh at the fact they partially covered up the On/Off switch.

      @CinecomCrew  7 років тому

      +Todd's Nerd Cave they must have measured the cage when the camera was off :p but it's really a minor issue.

    What is that v-mount plate? Its not the Lanparte one you list on your site.

    what screw did you use to connect your smallhd monitor to that SmallRig arm? I got the focus and similar parts.

    Since the link to the dummy battery doesn't work on your website, what dummy battery would you suggest? The one I got has some oddball connector that doesn't fit anything.

    The rig looks so professionally. The GH5 looks like a camera for ten thousands of Dollar with it rigged! What is the price of the main cage?

    • @CinecomCrew
      @CinecomCrew  7 років тому +4

      Cage with this top handle is around $350 I believe. The rod system was $250. It's definitely on the more expensive side, but since I had bad experience with my previous cage, I rather be sure of good support in case something happens and a quality cage.

    • @vegardpedersen
      @vegardpedersen 7 років тому +1

      Yes, it's worth a little more money for something that is much better quality. I'm considering buying the cage, but I think I'll look at something slightly cheaper rod system. It's a bit expensive for me :-)

    great review..thanks! I would like to mount a side handle on the left side as well as on the top. Which of the three handles would work on the side? I want to make sure it's protecting th eHDMI cable out to my monitor and not banging into it.

    Hi, why the battery plate you are showing in this video looks not like Lanparte VBP-01?

  • @VisualAnthony
    @VisualAnthony 7 років тому

    curious as to what V-mount plate & dummy battery you are using here. the links on your website don't work and the one shown doesnt look like the lanparte brand.

    • @CinecomCrew
      @CinecomCrew  7 років тому +1

      It's a cheap one from Ebay, no brand. I currently do have the one from Lanparte. It has the most power outputs. Same for the dummy battery.

      +hermanmern the actual bars? Not really, alluminum is cheaper but heavier and carbon is lighter but more expensive. Both materials are strong.

    The real question is, how does your sigma lens work with the metabones speedbooster and the GH5 IBIS?

    • @CinecomCrew
      @CinecomCrew  7 років тому +1

      Works great! It's a Nikon mount though, so it doesn't have contacts. Aperture and all works manual.

      Awesome!!! so glad to hear that - been seeing everyone with an XL getting vignetting, so was wondering if yours was the the Ultra as I know that doesnt cause a vignette .
      Thanks for the reply team

      It eats batteries. Like 1 hour or something. That's why I use the dummy battery.

  • @Bobster986

    Another issue with this rig is that it does not allow you to use an XLP adapter. You need to buy an extension adapter which still does not allow the top handle to go all the way back. Bad design in general.

      The Panasonic Lumix GH5 IS a video camera, and one of the best in the game right now. Maybe not much use on a TV Production of Beauty and The Beast or something, but nonetheless a quality piece of equipment capable of much more than you think.
