I really like the simple, yet elegant design of this station, especially compared to some that are, imo, WAY overbuilt. lol Don't get me wrong, those are nice, too, and would serve just as well...but this is all I need, for mine. The only thing I may do differently is to add a cut-out hole centered over the trash can. That way I can just throw (or slide, even) all my small cut-off waste right into the trash without having to open the door. Great job!
I like the vids. Gives me some ideas for after i have built my new mancave. Am going to get back into woodworking after about 15 yrs while i have been restoring old motorcycles
Looks great. If I had to change one thing, it would be the garbage can insert. I would probably have the can sit on a pullout base much closer to the floor, maybe even have the can simply sit on the floor. I imagine it can get pretty heavy once it's full, especially if you're going to use it to discard offcuts. Anyhow... your shop, your choice. Great video 👍
Sure thing, I considered making the slide out tray underneath but figured this would put a lot of strain when pulling out the handle at the top. The door would need some reinforcements behind, but that could work too. I've never had my garbage be that heavy, as I trow my large offcuts in a box outside the shop. Nevertheless, this is how I did it but other options work too!
Very nice design. Because I have a bad back, I would have placed the garbage holder a little lower so I could get it out without lifting it as high. I love the storage wall.
Nice. Great video. I like the addition of these nice drawers and slides to a simple 2x4 structure. Great idea. I have to revamp my mitre station right from scratch. I'll use the old one as a feed table for my planer. Thanks for the ideas.
Very nice work -- I love the vertical pullout panel for handheld power tools storage. I appreciate the way you address needs/solve problems -- smart, attractive and not overly complicated.
Good miter saw dust suppression is so difficult to achieve. That is a great idea you have had with your miter saw dust cover. I like the way it slides in and out of position to allow for compound cuts.
I'm really enjoying your channel ! I've going down the rabbit hole watching many of your videos. Your awesome router table build is what brought me here.. I have one just like it now! Thank you so much!
Probably 5-6 years ago I made the Ana White miter station. It’s very much like yours as far as the openness underneath. I like the height of yours better. I think I could modify mine to be lower. And I would LOVE to make some storage pieces for underneath. Thanks for sharing.
I modeled my miter station after yours altho I'm a long ways off from finishing it. It's also cool seeing someone other than me using Worx tooling, I own 12 different Worx tools some for gardening others for woodworking
You would love the brushless impact driver... lightweight feel for such a solid driver. They will be releasing a cordless 18g pin driver soon and then I wont need my air compressor anymore, cant wait! lol
Wow! My daughter will be going away to school next year. Her room will become my permanent shop. I am so inspired by the ideas in this video. The next year can't pass fast enough! 😆 Got this video marked as a favorite and I'll definitely be referring back to it by this time next year. Thanks Marie for another awesome, inspirational video!
This is really great and I think I'll use your design as a model for my own. You are my new favourite woodworker on youTube (or anywhere else for that matter). Love the simplicity of your design. And we share floors that have no idea what "flat" means. Thanks for your work.
Local dude here, when this whole pandemic thing is over you should have workshops. (unless I'm unaware and there are some already? I used to go to helios but it's closed now) I'd be very interested in learning.
What a great use of space, Marie. Absolutely love it. Admittedly, your miter saw station may not be the Taj Majal of miter saw stations, relative to some of the other well-known ones out there, but the functionality you have built in to yours has very few equals. Function over form.
Door hinges and overall sizing are kind trick, the jig @1:05 has the grey adjust knob under your left thumb, to set the hinge cup distance from the door's edge. Need to check the height of the part that is fixed on the cabinet and do some math. Luck was on your side, the problem is when there is a giant gap between the doors.
Yep, I realized too late that I should have adjusted the jig to make the hinges furthest from the edge as possible. That would have avoided the need to cut down the door!
I'm a fan of your channel so please don't take this as a troll...I predict you're not going to love the trash holder in the shop as much as the kitchen version because it will be a hassle to lift a large heavy can out of the cabinet when you need to empty it. I built something similar for my scrap bin, but made it a bottom trolley on casters that rolls straight in and out between guides on the floor... but it can also roll all the way out and over to wherever else I need it, or to where I empty it. I had to mount the door on the side which is not ideal, but it's usually just wide open during work sessions.
Brilliant build Marie love how much space you have given yourself for tool storage etc, but the best bit has to be the bin what a cracking idea, love it. Stay Safe, Barry (ENG)
I love this video, a must-see for anyone interested in cabinetry, especially if facing an unconventional installation. Your solutions are creative, practical, and best of all: thoroughly, yet concisely, explained. Brava!
Great builds and thanks for the DIY. Regarding the trash holder and the drawer slides, have you noticed any issue when the trash starts to get full? Not sure what kind of weight the drawer slides are rated for.
I just purchased your Miter Station plans and see that they don’t include your additions in storage that you made? Are their plans to modify these plans to include these additions? What size drawer slides did you use for the trash can pullout? Thanks, David.
@@DIYMontreal Good deal. If it was me I might add casters to the can so the slides were more of a guide and not carrying the weight but that's pretty nice that it can anyway.

That pull out drawer is an awesome idea, why didnt i think of that?

Really fantastic work, Marie! 😃
Everything works as it should and looks beautiful! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you! You too!
Outstanding Video...You videos are really great. Very motivating. Thanks for sharing your tips.
Very nice design. Because I have a bad back, I would have placed the garbage holder a little lower so I could get it out without lifting it as high. I love the storage wall.
Absolutely, the slides could have been put lower, but the door would have required more support up front. Either way works!
Nice, great job. Always delighted to see your videos☺
Stay safe.😷
Thanks, you too!
Well done video.
Awesome 💯
Great video! I'm using your videos as a guide. Great job!
Really like the vertical drawer. Excellent work.

Very well done. Some great ideas for workshop storage upgrades. Merci!

the vertical draw seem incidental but ended up as the best feature
Great storage solutions, Marie!

The pull-out wall drawer is such a great idea! Thank you for all the links from your shop tour video too!

Great ideas!
Great, I liked the pull out garbage idea, I will try that for my miter station.
I love the idea of a hidden trash can. Can't wait to hear a follow up on how well it works when filled!
Thanks Marie, some great ideas there that I might put to good use. G'day from Qld, Australia.
Wonderful! Thanks :-)
What a great video on how you finished your space. Loved your creativity. Thanks!!

I think I’ve seen some woodworkers use hot melt glue to temporarily hold drawer and cabinet fronts in place for positioning.
Great tip! Should have thought of that.
congrats. geat ideas, great execution. will use several of them soon.
Awesome, thank you!
Not onboard with the pull out garbage though. If that gets heavy it will be a pain to lift out.
Great builds and thanks for the DIY. Regarding the trash holder and the drawer slides, have you noticed any issue when the trash starts to get full? Not sure what kind of weight the drawer slides are rated for.
Did you do a video to show how you made the mitre saw dust collection?
Absolutely, here's the dust collection video: ua-cam.com/video/Fhwxqn532tg/v-deo.html
I just purchased your Miter Station plans and see that they don’t include your additions in storage that you made? Are their plans to modify these plans to include these additions? What size drawer slides did you use for the trash can pullout? Thanks, David.
Супер , умница!!!!!
I don’t see the hinges listed. Do you remember which ones?
I'm curious if you've found the single slide on each side is enough to prevent torquing when the trash can is semi-full.
I've filled it up a few times and the slides are plenty enough to hold the weight.
@@DIYMontreal Good deal. If it was me I might add casters to the can so the slides were more of a guide and not carrying the weight but that's pretty nice that it can anyway.
Check the pumps on that girl. Okay, to be serious, I really appreciate this.
I was checking this video out when I remembered it was trash day. So I started cleaning the shop😳🤦🏻♂️
