You made it all so clear! In the past I did simple conversion in my head with out a real understanding of how to write it out in a algebraic form. Now i can plainly see on paper what I was doing in my head! Plus now, I can do much more complex problems. Thank you!

Khan academy gave me one quick video on this before giving an entire test. Only did 2 problems, and did not explain it thoroughly enough. I’m so grateful for people like you, because you may have thought “who would want to look up this video and actually watch it into heir free time” and it’s easy to discard ideas that way. But you did it anyway, and it’s helping tremendously. Thankyou.

Excellent video! However, I do have a question. For the last problem (converting 64 fl oz into gallons) cannot be easily derived unless one knows that 1 gal is equal to 128 fl oz. I am almost certain that most people know that 4 qts equals 1 gallon rather than 128 oz equaling 1 gallon. If I am taking a test and I do not know that I gal equals 128 fl oz, how can I convert what I do know, (4 qts equals 1 gallon) to 64 fl oz? I like to start off with what I do know for problems like this. It's a luck in the draw with some standardized tests. They will not offer a key as you've done. Thank you very much for creating this video; it has helped tremendously!
That's a great question. The short answer is that there is some base knowledge that you must have. Just what that is, is unknown to me. The person designing the test can do a poor job and be testing your knowledge of base knowledge or the person can do a better job designing the test by giving to you some base knowledge facts that you will have to recognize when you see it. You might have noticed that often times you are given more information than is needed to solve the "Problem." Sometimes you are given two pieces of information that you use to find the third fact that is needed to solve the "Problem." I know that when I am working on something that really matters, I double check formulas and measurements. In the real world, screwing up and costing others means that the second chance that you get is your first chance somewhere else. Exams should be given in the library when you have access to all of the facts that are needed to get the right answer. This is the way that it is in the real world. If I did not answer your question, please let me know. Allenmorris@yahoo.com
But you are not good at anything until you practice a bit. Stay with it and you will master anything that you want to accomplish. Let me know how I can help!
thank you!
The abbreviation for mile is "mi". The abbreviation for meter is "m". Don't know what the abbreviation for puppy is.

Answer this question for me, please, is a head scratcher:
1.0 cubic centimetre (cm^3) of a solution contains 0.010g of salt. What is the mass of salt contained in 1 cubic decimetre (dm^3) of the same solution?
Textbook says 10g but I disagree, my answer is 0.1g
Which answer is correct and Why???
A decimeter is 100 times more than a cc. It will contain 100 times more salt.
@@AllenMorrisColonel Cheers
I have a question! Hmmm how do you know what is putting in numerator and denominator?☺️😊thanks
oops. I just saw your question. please let me know if I still need to address this for you...
Any way you could teach how to convert between metric units?
Ex: Km → metres, Cm³ → ml, ml → Litres, km² → hectares, etc.
Thanks Robert! Keep-a-learning!
Well going from kilometer to meter is quite easy. Multiply the amount of km by 1000
You have to know the basic unit. Watch the video again tomorrow. Sometimes I have to read something a few times and then it becomes clear. After you have watched the video again tomorrow or watched some other conversion lessons, let me know how I can help. You can write directly to me at Allenmorris@yahoo.com
Thank you so much for this! For the last question, can the answer also be 0.5 gal?
I'll have to check when I'm at a computer.
+Allen Morris yes! keep-a- learning!

I'm still lost. How do you convert miles to yards or yards to miles?
I found this really difficult cause we don't use some of these units to measure
Ava and Alice I even look up that material. it's just too much to memorize... but knowing what to do with the information is what's most important.
Okay thanks
I have a test tomorrow :x Wish me luck
Ava and Alice I wish you good luck. Look at each answer that you come up with and ask yourself, "Does my answer make sense?"
what about converting from hectares to
1 hectare = 100m X 100m =10,000m²
1 km² = 1,000m X 1,000m = 1,000,000m² = 100(10,000m²) = 100 hectares
1km² = 100 hectares
Ex. 1: 2 km² = 200 hectares,
Ex.2: 5.1 km² = 510 hectares,
Ex.3: 21,540.0m² = 2.1540(10,000m²) = 2.1540 hectares ≈ 2.2 hectares
thank you so much sir , :0 so its more on memorizing the units? urrrrg-_- (as I said sir im not good at this and i hate it ) :'3
Today is our exam
Look at the exam as an opponent; one that you can beat. Know that each question will have enough information to solve it. There will also most likely be more information than you need. Work out the ones that you know you can do and then go back to the ones that you are less certain that you can do. That is, spend your time on doing the ones that you know then finish by working on the ones that you might miss anyway. Let me know how you did please. Keep-a-Learning!
When you have a metric system, all based in multiples of 10, which make
calculations so intuitive and easy, you rarely need pen and paper,
what's the point of using these complicated non-intuitive proportions of
the "imperial system"?
In physics, when you're calculating speeds and accelerations, as far as i
know, both brits and yanks use the same formulas as the rest of us,
V=Vo+at, right? using metres and kilometres instead of feet and miles,
right? I don't think there's formulas for this using feet, inches or
yards, are there? So, if you're using the metric system for the more
complex calculus, why not use it for everything, I think it would
simplify things for you.
What's the point of bringing this useles complication to the table?
Is this a trap, to keep the more advanced knowledge secret and out of
reach from the less educated people?
Really, what's the point? Can anyone explain?
Antonio Ferrer That's a good point, but not everything is metric. Pi is not metric, time is not metric, e is not metric, half-life is not metric so it is a good thing to know how to convert rates.
Short video? its 25 minutes long!
..hectares to perches
I sent a message to your inbox. Let me know if you still need help....
just oneeee hahahhhahhahahahah
also feel like it was over complicated? o.o
Ava and Alice how can I make it easier or less complicated? I'm still learning too...
imperial roman system
Yup, the French system is better, but for some reason we in the USA do not want to move forward... Ugh...
omg >.< im not good at this
I don't understand anything😤😤😤😤😤
There was a time when I felt the same way. Just keep plugging away at it. Take a break when you get frustrated. If you have a direct question, ask me. I'll do my best to help you.
@@AllenMorrisColonel I mean I don't even know what I need to know to solve the problems. For example my teacher give us an example which is "A car has a mass of 1.920 kg. How many tons is that?
The question is telling me to conver kg to tons. But in the other I don't know what I need to conver.
" a horse is galloping at 60 feet per second and a dog is running at 40 miles per hour. Which animal is running faster? " here is where I don't know if I need to conver feet's into miles of seconds into hour or what.
