I love how boss's will fight each other. I randomly experienced that last night when playing. Seeing the flashy skills display by both bosses from the shadows, I waited for one to be down first before I strategically planned to assassinate the survivor. With about 35% hp each, they saw and turned to me, spamming their skills which alerted me to dodge out into the moonlight. And just like that, I was in a FFA match. Granted, they were weakened already, but at the same time, I was only doing 3-6 damage and was heavily out leveled. Regardless, I survived in the FFA and rewarded with two new skills to use while I meant to track another boss all together. What a cool experience.
Here's a useful tip: Any weapon can harvest ALL resources of it's corresponding level. Copper Swords for example can also break down Sulphur Stones. You don't need a mace (it only is 25% faster, that is all), so if you are strapped for reesources, craft the weapon you enjoy, there is no reason to upgrade your entire arsenal.
Instead of traveling crazy distances with items, set Teleport Bound Items to false. It's basically an inverted option with a bad naming. It allows you to teleport with items. Saves a lot of trips, though of course you could leave it on if you like not being able to teleport with items. I found it hideously annoying to not be able to teleport with items.
I always do the same on my SP games. The purpose of the item restriction is obvious from a gameplay perspective, but if you stop and think about it, it makes absolutely no sense from an in-lore perspective: a magical, blood-powered teleporter platform can teleport you and your equipment, but not the stuff your equipment is made from. What?

very late to the party here, but don't ignore fishing for a few more reasons... 1) fish oil can be gained from feeding fish to the devourer (hungry recycle bin chest) and is used later in the game to make pristine leather, which you will need a fair bit of especially if playing with friends. 2) fishing is a good way to get recipes when you're trying to find those floors to reduce material costs or the upgraded armor and weapon plans 3) a few fish (goby, rainbow trout, and sage) are fed to prisoners. why do you care about prisoners? well let me explain, you get the jail cell recipe shortly into the Dunley Farmlands, they cost 12 iron to make but it is quite the worthwhile investment as you can store npcs in them, say npcs with high blood qualities... it can be a challenge to get them in however, requiring you to walk a dominated npc all the way home to a cell, but in doing so this allows you to turn 1 npc into a fountain of blood. you feed prisoners the 3 aforementioned fish to increase their health and decrease their misery. misery making prisoners take more damage when you (and this is the kicker) bottle their blood... yes I said bottle their blood. doing so will take a chunk of their health and increase their misery BUT allow you to turn 1 npc with say 100% quality rogue blood into a theoretically infinite amount of 100% rouge blooded vampires IF the prisoners are taken care of. If you couldn't tell I HIGHLY recommend taking prisoners as soon as you can. I typically grab 1 of each type of blood and keep track of their qualities until I get 100% of each blood type but I also feel I may be in the minority there as it is quite a lot of work and sometimes high quality blood comes at very inopportune times.
Copper spear while really good for damage is not good for bossing: You will be locked in one place against bosses that are barely ever stationary. The damage you end up being exposed to far outweighs the potential damage you might get in. The sword - unsurprisingly - is an amazing balanced weapon with its special attack allowing you to get multi hits, while remaining mobile. Against harder bosses *_BE PATIENT, AND TAKE IT SLOW_* Don’t fall for the trap of “I’ve done a quarter of his health and he’s only done 1/5th of mine, so I’m good”. Bosses have different phases, which become exponentially more difficult than the start of the fight. Basically, progress throughout the fight isn’t linear.
Great tips, I'd already figured out most of them but the ones about the Iron mine bosses and the book cases might come in handy when I'm trying to do solo plays or speed runs without having a group of friends to help me build a large castle with lots of space or to help take down those bosses which can be very difficult to fight solo.
Big tip I would give if you start specially on PVE servers, look for decaying castles, on PVE servers it is often just a single door to the hearth and destroying them gives you the ability to loot all of the stored loot as it drops. This can give you a huge leg up and save you a lot of farming time. Personally doing this my issue is more so of a castle full of chest than lacking resources.

Addition: Fastest way to farm all kinds of rock deposits seems to be the scyth. You first do the whirly thing on the deposit and let it do half of the work while hitting it with standard attacks. Also n1 to farm spider cocoons because they melt the creatures spawning out on destruction sometimes. Saves me a utility slot because I like to use the scyth in fights anyway (especialy but not exclusive against undeads)

Great video on V rising what timezone are you playing on your public server I just bought the game today and is waiting to get home from work to start playing it
Do you have any tips for someone that is likely going to try and play this solo on a PvP server, please? Really would like to play the game, but not sure if I'll have anyone to build a guild with.
Using the appropriate weapon for the resource does not seem to grant additional resource yield per hit on rocks, trees, etc. It will however deal more damage- seems to destroy the resources faster, thus gaining the total resource item's yield in less time. This reveals to us the nature of the mechanics at work. It means that enemies and resources are all *entities* with a health pool, a loot table, and damage multipliers based on damage source. - Could be handy information. It's why enemies can damage opposing factions or environment resource nodes to cause loot drops. You can lure opposing groups together or enemies to resource nodes for early game resource accrual. Perhaps there are other ways this info will prove useful down the road?
An afterthought I have is whether spell or spell type affects certain enemies differently compared to physical or melee damage, indeed if melee and physical are considered different as well.
Yep! But you gotta wait for the larger splash, there's one that happens that's quieter and then you'll get a much more prominent louder one, and that's when to click!
No right answer to this really! Completely personal preference. I suppose the ideal way might be to have each clan member build a castle in a different region for easy travelling.
The more castles definitely the better. Each castle has their own servant limit. So even if there's a 1 castle heart per player limit, that's 5 servants even at level 2 castle heart for each player. 7 servants per player at level 3 castle hearts. Each castle can also have their own waygate, making it easier to travel around. The only downside to this is the extra resources it costs to build extra castles. Also the extra resources it costs to gear up the extra servants.
A little late to the video as I've been having so much fun playing the game. But do the caves show up on the maps as markers or is it hunt them down and remember where they are?
Just started playin this beauty... I don't understand placing your castle heart. It has a giant red square around it that won't fit anywhere... how do I start building my castle??
You place the heart first, then build around it. If you're placing it after constructing stuff, you need to remove the border of the tile you're trying to place it on :)
I've tried that too... I've torn the square back down, placed a border. It said the border was in the way. So I had to tear the border down to be able to place the coffin... and if you read this the way I'm thinkin it, you can tell the coffin is on the actual ground.
I'm struggling mid game if got to Dunley and killed the tailor, but I have all the best gear, and i need to get iron stuff, but everything is kicking my ass... im lvl41 (gear score)
Ah, so you're trying to kill Quincy for the iron gear? He's the one you want. Unlocks iron crafting. If it's the iron mine you're struggling with, you can run past most of the mobs outside to get to the mine. Just be careful of the roaming bosses inside the mine itself! There's also some ore around the edges of the mine on the outside of the mountains if you don't want to risk it.
Do we HAVE to play with other players at one point or can we play solo throughout the game? Does it have a storyline or is it just about gathering resources and building your own castle?
I have a private game that I play solo(pirate) and I only have to beat 6 more bosses to finish the game, so yes you can solo it, the bosses scalate with the amount of people in your clan so if you're only 1 it will have low life and sht but if you're 4 people in your clan the fight will be harder because the boss' health and damage(I think?) will escalate with the amount of people fighting it
Your castle can get attacked and destroyed while you are OFFLINE. Found out the hard way, everything was taken. Would be nice if the game made you aware of this feature. Also, the game allows for characters to be made in a server beyond the 50 player limit. This means that there could be 75 players in one server and if 50 players are on at the same time the other 25 cannot logging. This obviously makes the previous problem even worse, since even if I friend calls you to help defend your castle and the server it's full, you can't do shit.
Honestly, I feel like that's pretty standard with games like this, no? I'd sort of expect base raiding to be possible whilst I was offline. In fact, it's the main reason I don't go anywhere near PvP in games like this. Just not to my taste.
@@MrAtomicDuck Is only standard if you have played or know about "games like this". Every game needs to inform the players of what the "rules" are and should never assume that this game plays like X game so you should know, as there is a chance that X% of your player base has not played the game you are referencing. Something as simple as a Warning Box with the "rules" popping up after you select a server/play style should suffice.
@@MrAtomicDuck I feel like a Pvp Server would be best served, the server is on at a certain time of day, so people don't just show up when people are not on.
My problem was not understanding that people can scale cliffs. I blocked all the entrances to a base area with double air locks (castle walls w/ floors) and left the middle open. Some people somehow jumped up the cliffs and stole everything. So yeah, learned the hard way to make sure you enclose your castle. Btw, server was only up for 15 hours when this happened. It was a brand new server when I joined and I was one of the first to level 30 and building castles. Was only offline for 3 hours and I'm still not sure how the hell you jump up cliffs. Lol
Questions: When you create a character and progress through... are you able to take that character and join a different server (say with your friends), like you can in Valheim? Or do you have to start all over, fresh from the start?
Kinda been that way for a while man. Beta, alpha, early access, they're all just names with no meaning now, really. Just gotta do your research and judge based on the amount of available content :) A game is "Out" to me when the general populace can purchase it.
@@MrAtomicDuck Makes sense. As a youtuber you need to follow this principle. But for people like me, any game released these days will be playable by next year or so.
Fair enough! V Rising isn't one of those games for me. I've already sank in 50 hours during the betas and 15 hours at full release without barely blinking 😂 It's already got more than some AAA titles. Much like other games I like, like Project Zomboid!
Depends when they “release” the game, and how good it is. A good early access like this might as well be release. A bad early access with extended release date? Good lucky getting most people to play again.
@@gwolf9642 Yep, true! I think a lot of it comes down to maybe keeping interest in games like this, knowing that it's still being developed rather than "Finished"?

Have fun! What boss are you up to now?
@@MrAtomicDuck ugh I've only killed two so far! Once the weekend hits I'll get a few more down. I've been primarily working on my castle and quests.
@@symphony2372 Our castle is looking magnificent, so I vibe with that. I could spend hours decorating.
Some nice little tips and what not, liking the new games coming onto your channel, hopefully you can branch out into more games!
Thanks man! Always wanted to do more than just one game, Zomboid isn't going anywhere though :D
@@MrAtomicDuck Oh of course, Zomboid is still awesome, I’m looking forwards to the bigger content updates like the npcs and the hunting stuff, looking real interesting
The “compulsively count” button is a cool nod to the tendencies of vampires
Addition: Fastest way to farm all kinds of rock deposits seems to be the scyth. You first do the whirly thing on the deposit and let it do half of the work while hitting it with standard attacks. Also n1 to farm spider cocoons because they melt the creatures spawning out on destruction sometimes. Saves me a utility slot because I like to use the scyth in fights anyway (especialy but not exclusive against undeads)
Another excellent video as always! Thanks!
My pleasure!
Big thanks bro!
Happy to help!
Bear form can break the gate to captain and damage large resources
True!
Thank u for the vid really helpful. As a new player ive been looking for iron like a lunatic ..now i know .. ty :)
No problem 👍
A tip I think a lot of people know, but I still will say is that the higher rarity or level a weapon is the more special powers it has
oh damn, good tips for sure. Some of this info will come handy in my run!
Glad it was useful man!
Listen everyone: Start the game (prefer without video reviews) and experience this amazing game for yourself. This such a beautiful and well balanced game to make you feel the need of gathering, exploring, and battle.
If you don’t like pvp I understand but I highly recommend to trying it especially with friends. The pvp in this game is like having multiple rooming mini boss that you can avoid or fight. It’s truest fun.
Enjoy!
It's such a good game! Everyone that's into RPG Survivals needs to give it a go :D
Is it possible to play this game solo? I'm more of a PvE person tbh.
@@lotus4186 You can, just start a private server and set it online solo only
@@lotus4186 yes there’s even a pve mode just for that
@@MrAtomicDuck RIGHT! And also great video! Forgot to put that in the first message! 😅
Great tips - not enough ducks.
More ducks, you got it. Will do better.
One of the best games which has came out. Its super enjoyable and good. I love it
It really is!
That stone golem tip, for anyone that played Valheim before this, are similar to trolls there.

Sweeeeet! Getting this game in the future!

This dev team made battlerite and Battlerite Royale IIRC, I like the gameplay aspect.
They did!
When you use crossbow you can quickly press E skill after Q skill. In that case you will have AOE E skill. Ofcourse have to aim E in place where bolts will be raining 🙂
Not really a fan of this type of game but still enjoy watching ur content
Appreciate the support all the same 😊 Zomboid isn't going anywhere, rest assured.
i actually used a stone golem to destroy a guy's stone gate but it took a long time and a lot of healing
Man this game got so much cool stuff!!
RIP RL
Big mood lmao
Great video on V rising what timezone are you playing on your public server I just bought the game today and is waiting to get home from work to start playing it
Our public server is NA, and our Patreon one is EU :)
Ok thanks i am from Denmark but I might join the public server and see how it goes thanks
that lift up hit then follow attack, was it removed from the recent patch??? i cant seem to do it
after hearing about the werewolf makes me wonder if the next game they make will be W rising where its the vampire you can use as a distraction.
Mr.duck your gonna fucking drain my pockets now I gotta buy this game 💀💀. Fantastic vid as always tho
Excellent. MONEY BEGONE!
scrolled down to like the video, then realized I had already liked it
Why thank you!
@@MrAtomicDuck no problem dude
Dude thanks for this video.
No problem! Happy to help :)
do you already have the fishing rod blueprint? or do you gotta do a quest or something to get it?
You learn it after one of the first bosses I believe!
Yeah it’s the same one that nets you the woodworking bench and the crossbow
Does fishing in different lands give different rewards?
Yes! Some are more common in other areas. For example, The Cursed Forest drops a higher-grade fish that is often only found there.
Do you have any tips for someone that is likely going to try and play this solo on a PvP server, please? Really would like to play the game, but not sure if I'll have anyone to build a guild with.
How did you get the 3 tails wolf upgrade ?
So iff the water splashes you press left button to reel it in?
Yep! But you gotta wait for the larger splash, there's one that happens that's quieter and then you'll get a much more prominent louder one, and that's when to click!
@@MrAtomicDuck Thanks it helped !
Great Video but i have one question left. Should you share one stronghold with your clan or should everyone build his own?
No right answer to this really! Completely personal preference. I suppose the ideal way might be to have each clan member build a castle in a different region for easy travelling.
Thank your :)
They show up on the map as markers after you find them for the first time.
Sorry... I got the heart... now I'm tryin to place my wooden coffin on my floor, and I keep gettin the message that my floor is in the way
Can you move your castle heart around?
Use a stone golem as a gaurd for your castle
I've seen people do this in PvP servers!
Can you zoom in on your character more during gameplay?
No story but you can play solo
You can solo the entire game if you'd like!
I have a private game that I play solo(pirate) and I only have to beat 6 more bosses to finish the game, so yes you can solo it, the bosses scalate with the amount of people in your clan so if you're only 1 it will have low life and sht but if you're 4 people in your clan the fight will be harder because the boss' health and damage(I think?) will escalate with the amount of people fighting it
Make many notes my friend. Particularly liked your cameo in rat form.
No need for game to tell you that, use common sense, eather you play on pvp or pve server.
Lol
You don’t all have to get the v blood at the same time, as long as your close if someone in your clan gets the v blood you will to
Really! We'd never tried this just because we'd all jumped on it. This is good to know.
Actually you cant share the V Blood, just found this out last night...
Questions: When you create a character and progress through... are you able to take that character and join a different server (say with your friends), like you can in Valheim? Or do you have to start all over, fresh from the start?
far as i know you cannot. if there is then i havent seen it. i have two different characters on two different servers due to this.
Negative, progression is per-server.
its just funny to me when you said both betas then release. I guess were calling early access released games now
Kinda been that way for a while man.
I have travelled a lot of map yesterday, and get a lot of resources and stuff in my bag, but i need to turn into Wolf and run back to my castle whole map again, because cant use tp with respurces right? Or im doing something wrong? Is there any tip for fast Travel back to Your place? Without dying of course? 😉
You can use cave passages whilst you're carrying loot! Find the exit closest to your base, then you need to find out which one connects to it!
@@MrAtomicDuck Thanks Duck! Now im gonna go for my horse!
One more question, if i start playing on random server, my progress will be lost if i try on a new one?
