I Did What?! I swatched for The Weekender

I have a couple of things finished, the Turkish delight Shawl by Helen Stewart and Another One for the Road by Corrine Walcher. I tend to avoid swatching for most things but for a garment, it's important. I'm planning to make The Weekender by Andrea Mowry from my own yarn, Bede Sisters' Columbia Worsted in "Red Velvet Cake".
I also talk about reading books set in places I travel. Any suggestions for Argentina?

I'm reading Starling House. It was a Reece's book club pick and is based in KY which is close to where I live. a little scary but not too much

I ordered yarn yesterday from your shop for the MKAL. I chose colors for the Sandpiper, simce i live so near to Lake .Michigan
How will i know what color to start with?

The short (but not very helpful) answer is to start with whichever color you want. This is a mystery knit along so there’s limited guidance for which yarn to use as Color A. I haven’t seen the finished shawl either.
According to the Ravelry thread about this pattern, Color D is the featured or “pop” color so maybe pick which you would like for that and mix up the rest as it suits you.
If it were me, I’d probably use the red in the Sandpiper set as my featured color.
