Best part about the hoodwink is that it doesn’t just drop straight down when you let it fall. It sort of wanders or swims down towards the bottom, which I think makes a huge difference, especially with a smaller jig head

I agree, brother. I took a long break due to the winter weather (cold, wind, rain) but now that im back it seems the easiest species worth getting out of the house and chasing is speckled trout. Everything else is too scattered or simply gone to much deeper water.

Great trout lure, but I also caught several upper slot redfish today on the haymaker. And one day late last summer I caught keeper flounder on three straight casts with the white one. Great lure!

For a great recipe, check out redfish courtbouillion . That is, as you might guess, a New Orleans area recipe. It doesn't have to be redfish. Small black drum work great, and it has been adapted to other fish, such as flathead catfish.

Awesome content. Smoke some of those trout. You can eat em straight up or throw them in a seafood dip. You put that stuff on your head and your tongue will beat your brains out trying to get to it. 😂

I have a Long John Silver copy cat recipe that the wife’s family just loves. Even those who say they don’t like fish will eat that. Never any leftovers. Add some coleslaw and French fries, good to go.

I think a nice fish chowder is delicious. You can add clams or shrimp or smoked salmon. Make sure there is cream corn in the recipe.
Some people up here will marinate salmon in zesty Italian dressing for about 30 minutes. Then grill. Delicious!
There’s a recipe called halibut Olympia. I bet it would be delicious with most types of fish.
Love a day of hoodwinking speckled trout!
