I loved that part where the big trout followed the little hooked one in. Some guys in another boat on a recent trip had a huge trout hit a hooked trout right off the boat, no hookup of course but an awesome predatory attempt and experience.
When we river fish for striper up here, every time someone catches a smaller one (3-8 lbs) we take our time getting it to the boat while everyone else throws a bait out on that side of the boat. Many times you'll catch a big one (15-20lbs) that follow the smaller ones in.
Crazy how many fish you got in that spot! Every now and then I find a spot like that and limit out with some fattys! I’m going out tomorrow for 3 day trip hope to limit out each day! Fish on 🎣
Thanks Nathan those hood wink I ordered 1 of each color were the bomb. Would love to go to meet and greet but I live in SouthTexas by Corpus Cristi. So I'll keep watching your videos and supporting your channels. If you find yourself down south let me know and hook up some large southern red fish and trout.
Just ordered a few cajun pepper hoodwinked lures gonna take em to the hole when they come and and let ya know how they did. Wanted to try that minnow of death out at bert maxwell along the pilings but i still got a few white worms plus moneys tight. Not gonna lie thought yall was at my hole when i seen the lay out . But im out here in jacksonville fl. Awesome video man
Man, that was an awesome video. Looked like a blast. Can you describe how you worked the lure? Like bouncing on the bottom with pauses or constant movement?
How much of your content is around Dauphin Island going down in August and want to catch a mess of specks. Just ordered some Hoodwinks locals really didnt give me to much info last time down
Hi do you have a video where you recommend spinning rods setup for the kayak? Looking for length, action, etc. Really im trying to secide between 6'6" or 7'. I find the handle of the 7' st croix sometimes gets in my way, wondering if 6'6" would be better. I don't use casting rods. Thanks.
Lifetime bass fisherman here just got started into fishing fowl river and other brackish systems. I generally throw a 1/2 oz jig head with a variety of different color and size soft plastics on about 15-17lb flouro…is this too heavy or light and do lipless crankbaits and square bills work for trout, flounder, and redfish or is it pretty much jigheads and spoons??? Thx for the vids bud.
In the marsh, typically a 1/4 or 1/8 oz jig head is the general rule of thumb. 20lb braid attached to a 20lb leader is the happy medium to catch any fish in the marsh system from small specks to big redfish. I have caught many specks on lipless cranks in Fowl and the redfish love the wakebaits. Happy fishing!
Just now realized watching this video you use left handed reels don't see many people use them. I'm one of the few that uses left handed reels but I'm right hand dominat. Do you have problems finding left handed reels? BTW nice catches with the flounder and that red to complete the slam.
Thanks brother! I always order my reels online or through a shop and can get what I need. I’m like you right hand dominate but like to control the fish with my strong arm.
@@southernsalt im going to have to order mine online then local shops don't carry left handed reels much. Love the vids imma have to also check out those lures. I'm from south Texas wanna see what they do in these waters

1/2 oz jig head is a little too heavy for me. I stay between 1/8 - 1/4 oz jigs. Crank baits work amazingly well. Lines size seems to be perfect.
Exactly what he said!
Was this in GA?
Gulf Coast
What are the bait you using
Southern Salt Hoodwink
