@@krioni86sano that’s not why at all. It’s because Solo was caught up in a match fixing gambling scandal a while ago where he was deliberately throwing a game. But it definitely stems from one of those things of just $322 in value. Anyway, since then 322 became a symbol for deliberately throwing a match
What an absolute gem. Not just this video, but the entire channel. I haven't actively played dota since 2019 but I still watched every single one of these videos. And while I'm saddened that the journey is already over, I think this is a great point to conclude this archive. I wish you the very best for your future endeavours.
Yo bro same, I haven't touched this game since 2019, but watching the stories of Dota is a great treat and I miss this game, definitely will miss this channel too
Sad to see this series go. I really wanted a "Story of Anti-Mage" especially after being informed how incredibly oppressive he was in the very first International.
man i remember looking the dota 2 beta key song back in the day but not remembering the damn title when i wanted to show my friends and then randomly 10 years later it gets dropped here. lol
This channel is the whole reason I started playing dota. Now I'm addicted to dota and Sad that no more videos will be coming out... Thanks for all the hard work!
As a Dota player since 2004/2005. I really love this game. Unfortunately, most of the Dota 2 players in my generation moved on with life. I used to be in SEA and now in NA for 7 years. Unfortunately, the younger generation seems to be easily tilted and gives up easily. Also likes to blame other rather that seeing what they can improve themselves.
Can’t wait to watch the view count on this one blow up. Been long for the ride since 2013 era and lived an entire lifetime alongside the game and its community’s videos. From graduating high school, to joining the army and deploying numerous times, to now where I’ve started a career path and a family of my own. Thanks for the memories Baumi, and best of luck moving forward!
I played LoL for 14 years and Just started playing DotA, 3 weeks ago (i played first in 2012) but only casual. I really like dota and this Channel is so good for new people to get into DotA! Ty ❤
the thing in my opinion that made the choices for universal heroes make sense was that most of them were heroes that bought items that didn't align with their stats. Mostly it was heroes who built caster items while being strength or agility, like Dark Seer, Sand King, and Nyx, but it was also heroes who were traditionally supports that would occasionally be played as a attack-based carry, like Winter Wyvern and Vengeful Spirit. Looking at the current list of universal heroes, its mostly heroes that played position 4 at the time when universal was created, who would buy lots of utility items which don't really synergize with any attribute, often provide all attributes or multiple attributes at once.
its been an absolute joy to watch all these and i know ill be coming back in the future to watch em again. thanks for all the effort lads, and best of luck in the future
Absolute Crazy Video both in quality and also Main events happening over the years. I came very late to dota 2 and started playing it in late 2021 because I always prefered League. For me its an absolute blessing to hear from all these Major stories and highlights + changes and also finally understood my brother saying dota 2 is really an amazing game (I always thought its clunky and outdated game, but playing a few hundred games completely changed my mind). Thank you a lot one more time for this Video and also for all the other people that keeping this game as it is.
I think that the game was in its prime in 2015-2019 period. So many cool personalities among the pro scene and the state of the game was great. You had several OG - EG - Secret lineups, TI7 Liquid, Virtus Pro, PSG.LGD and Wings. Great gameplay and good storylines everywhere
I'm gonna miss this series. Everytime i watched a video from this series, would make me want to play DoTA 2 more. Especially those specific heroes that i would watch at that time😭 So long Stories of DotA. I'm gonna rewatch every video as much as possible.
A great series that has come to its conclusion. It's bitter sweet, and I while I do wish for more, isn't that the best time to end it? While it's still desired and not feeling bloated. I did think it was odd you didn't talk about how the tower push meta of TI2 wasn't as broken as it seemed based on what you said in most of the other "Stories of" videos compared to what I remember you saying on your own channel. I distinctly remember you talking about how some teams did manage to counter it during the TI. Think you said in the Grand Final specifically. Always thought it was weird how strongly you came off about it in this series vs your channel. I haven't played Dota 2 much, my last time launching the game is 2017, but I have much more fond memories of Dota Allstars and it's interesting to watch these to see how a game I once played has changed over the years, also you are very good at setting up an interesting story board so that helps too. It assisted in me transitioning to LoL when some friends asked me to and I've made life long friends from both games, so Dota will always hold a special place in my heart, much like Wc3 in general. This series has made me think of some old times, some old friends and reminisce on it all, so your goal of helping the community not forget the past of Dota, has also assisted me in remembering some old times and I can only say thank you for that.
This has been a wonderful journey, thank you for all the Dota you've shared in the 11 years since I found your channel. These Stories of Dota are a really fascinating way to look back on TI and Dota 2 as a whole.
Sad to see this go. But have you ever considered doing a game design comparison between different games, like dota vs LoL or MTG vs Hearthstone? You've got such a great analytical mind, and I've learnt so much fro watching your videos through the years that really made me appreciate what different games brings to the same genre Also, did you know that you sound really similar to Baumi, the creator of Boosted Survivors?
I don't even play Dota 2, but I've watched every one of your "History of..." videos. Really well done! Appreciate the effort and love you put into these.
It could be that they were testing another valve game inside that, If you look at the date, it is not that far from when deadlock, Valve's newest game, started to get more and more rumored about as the testers couldnt speak about it. I would not be surprised if to hide one of the builds since they had already leaked one into the databases, It was hidden under the umbrella of artifact
wonderful series. thorughout the hero history videos i kept wondering about the history of the game game's meta itself like trilanes or general strategy and such and this video delivered on that aspect and far more. perfect ending spot to the series. good luck on whatever you set out on next.
Pal, i was in the closed beta disaster, i was there when you could build a sange and yasha made you a top tier player all the way until dota became tcomplicated for the sake of being complicated and then i even couldnt catch up with the changes. This video is really a very good way of saying goodbye, and dont worry I'll be there when you start the mtg channel, good luck have fun🤘
First of all. Thanks for this video. Probably one of my favorites among of all UA-cam. Second. I thought you would cover the last TI and how the resources made it almost quad core line up. A thing which in the beginning would be crazy. Third. Thanks again. Godspeed.
Thank you Baumi, this channel has been such a gem, you brought back so many memories that are really important to me. I look forward to rewatching every video! ❤
Thank you Baumi for doing these series. I've played Dota 2 ever since the beta was released and I still remember back when you have to reach level 13 before being able to play ranked matches. All these are very nostalgic to me as Dota has changed tremendously over the years. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Dota for all the joy that you've brought into my life over all these years. The saddest thing for me is the last game me and my friends played together as a 5 man party and we didn't even realize that it was the last time we would play together. But everything good will eventually come to an end, and that is just a part of life. Thank you Baumi for all these memories, thank you.
Some heroes don't wear capes. Others make Dota2 videos. Great videos no other channel gives this much effort to our beloved game not even valve anymore.
Thank you for this series i have only played dota for 3 years and after watching true sights i wanted to learn more. This video series is perfect to learn the histot
Out of all random patch changes one can remember, I remember that 6.79 was the one where Nyx's Impale stopped being a clone of Lion's ability and could only be ground targeted. Damn I miss the era of dota music parodies. They were cringy but they were fun cringe
I JUST found this channel, a shame to see it go by I understand not everyone can keep this quality of content going sometimes. Best of luck in your future endeavors
Thank you Baumi for everything!!! You really have helped me and I'm sure many others remember Dota throughout the years. May your future endeavors be full of fun, excitement and continued success!!

Pacing was great, didn't feel like 3 hours at least coming from someone who started playing following EG's TI win. A nice refresher of the chronology of minor and major changes.
oo I miss Dota in 2012, 2013. I remember that you could buy game or some one send you invite ticket if he got some. So i get it from my friend and we were one of first players of dota2 in my city. Unbalanced with players, but very interensting and exicting. Good old days
Really great work! Was fun to relive a lot of that history I got to experience in person. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on the Workshop, how impactful do you think the art community around the game has affected the development and longevity of Dota 2? At least until 2018 or so it seemed like the Workshop was a big contributing factor to engagement with the game. I know my music pack was incredibly impactful for me, really helped jump start my career. Not sure how much impact it had on players and the community though.
Didn't realize the 2024 main event was going on until Liquid vs GG was just about to start, was hoping for a short recap for some reason even though I'm sure this was all written ages ago
This made me cry. I miss the old days. It goes to show that valve has truly abandoned this game. Dota is a shadow of its past. I will never forgive them for giving us false hopes.
Idk why people didn't like dragons blood show as much, it is massively underrated, I think it's on the same level arcane is, the main difference is the money that went into making it, but the show is definitely amazing and it's worth rewatching
That's why when they put up the Navi was great argument, I laugh. They didn't experience the bottleneck unlike the other teams. Once more combinations were tried and more interest was shone in the game, they started to fall off. Just imagine if those later TI winners got free access and took interest the same time Navi did.
