I don't even play DOTA and have 5 total hours on Steam but am loving your videos. I know you specialize in hero stories but it would be interesting to see "Best Games of all time" or "Best series' of all time" talking about the narratives leading up to those games/series and analyzing the gameplay, picks/bans within those games. Keep up the great work!
I'd love to see the story of Lina the Slayer! She's been a support, and a mid, and a carry throughout her life time. And I think it's heroes like that that have the most interesting stories.
Man I remember TI 2015 one of the craziest stories of all time and leshrac was right in tbe middle of it. A testament to straight forward caster design and power over complexity. Another fantastic video!
i remember getting my friend into Dota around this time. He had League experience and would feed badly in pretty much every game which is understandable being new to Dota. However he played 2 games as Leshrac and was beyond godlike against players with hundreds or thousands of hours
Can’t believe you didn’t mention the base defense of PSG LGD vs Secret when NTS Lesh would spam aghs shard Split Earth on his highground, making it nearly impossible to siege against
I have watched nearly all of these videos in the span of a week, fantastic channel. I don’t even play Dota 2 but you put together a story so well anyone can follow.
Man, I played Dota 2 since 2016 and stopped at certain point and on and off until 2023. Watching your videos recently makes me want to play seriously again. I wish my favorite hero will be featured. Terrorblade. Thanks more power to you
Leshrac was a hero I did not know when I watched professional matches. I just knew him as the one everyone banned, and I did see him played a few times, but ended up dying rather fast.
Yo, this baumi. The casual dota2 video maker. This dude was such a great dota2 representative. Man was an axtual normal person in the dota2 community. None of the salty sweatlord desperation to be as high MMR and high skill that most streamers and videomakers. This man paved the way for the dota2 meme channels.
Man, just found your channel here. And I'm stunned with how complete they are. It's very good if you had done a time skip, for example I played in 2015 and then coming back now in 2024. It's good to see aaaaall the updates.
man not banning leshrac in the grand finals so the enemy, who you know aren't used to playing leshrac, are forced to pick it to deny you from having it, is a real evil genius maneuver. true to their name
if they ban leshrac, the enemy gets naga and they can't play aggressive or win late. and they always have to ban techies, otherwise they can't play aggressively, the playstyle they've put all their time into perfecting and training for. yet if they don't ban or pick leshrac, it's like a guaranteed loss. no matter what they do, they lose. not banning leshrac was a checkmate.
I like this long-form stories about dota heroes. your dota content is dope. the fact that your voice reminds me of Internet Historian, makes me hooked. keep it up, man.
Gotta say I really love this series! At first I thought I would lose interest at some point but these videos are so insightful while being super fun and obviously nostalgic. Keep it up!
Love the videos just a thought for future videos. When you show the patch version maybe put the date. Dota always reminds us when we started and these videos remind me of all changes but I wonder what patch changes affected me and which ones were before my time. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!
Just stumbled upon this video randomly and I immediately got familiarized with the narration to realize it was Baumi! I used to binge watch your old Dota 2 vids when I was in college :D learned a lot from them as well! Nice to see you doing well, subscribed. :D
I’m loving this show, some of the best dota content out there. Just a suggestion, if you wanted to mix it up from focusing on heroes, I think episodes on players would be really interesting, like an episode on the history of puppey, fy, zai, kuroky etc
Those videos are fantastic. I love them so much. The work you put it shows at every level. Once I watched one of your videos, it become lore to sleep in my ears. Cheers!
57:52 This is easily the most important part of the video and anyone who says otherwise is lying to themselves. I was a position 4 support among my friend groups (though I honestly should have been 5 with how/who I played), and I remember giving Leshrac a few attempts in public games but could never get a hang of his long windup animations for his spells. Seeing how polarizing he was in the Internationals was definitely interesting, he never would have lived up to his potential at the level I was playing at.
Leshrac is such an amazing hero by virtue of it detracting from how conventional cores work. Unbelievable amount of pressure without the dependence to items and always impactful in the right hands. Such a cool hero. Sumail made the hero shine. Undisputed Lesh goat imo.
Leshrac was probably strong enough to be a consistent core pick during TI4, but the years of being a bad stun or push-centric support kept him down. And so he kept getting those little bitty buffs until he was dominant. The hilarious thing about his rise in 2015 was that he was tried out as a joke--in the wacky era of 2015-2017 when lots of new items, new crazy aghs abilities and then talents were introduced, players of all stripes spent lots of time brainstorming the wildest things you could do with the new content (ah, the good old joke of Aghs Lifestealer eating an ally then infesting another to make a 3-player stack, then relocating pretty much a whole team in by tethering the infested hero). So after Octarine Core was released, the brainstormers looked at that and said, 'You know, with Nova running on 5 heroes you were getting insane health regen from this new spell lifesteal", so they started trying it out...and quickly realized that, Octarine Core or no, Leshrac was the most busted hero of the era. A hero so good he had to be banned in almost 90% of the games and, in a weird way, was pretty much responsible for deciding the TI winner that year, I don't know we'll ever see such a dominant hero again.
@@lukaslonauer1391 Sadly I don't remember any pro games where Assimilate Agh's power was ever used, it was a hilarious brainstorming idea rather than a viable strat, but here's a couple example videos of people showing off the potential: ua-cam.com/video/IJ_O5GGvnOo/v-deo.htmlsi=BsyrMqvX1JkaumSu Four-man team inside an enigma thanks to Aghs Lifestealer and Aghs Morphling (his new 6.84 Aghs gave Hybrid which was the original prototype of the Modern Morph; he could turn into a copy of a hero and use all non-ultimate abilities, and Aghs abilities didn't count as ultimate) This one throws an Io in to move 5 heroes in one go: ua-cam.com/video/x1RF8Bu8shs/v-deo.htmlsi=Z0QSfKAw_A1SOnFl (The Morphling/Naix combo was actually killed in an undocumented stealth patch shortly after 6.84 dropped, with the Hybrid no longer able to use Aghs abilities of copied heroes, so it never had a chance to be used in officials) Oh, but here is one Pro Game I found where the Aghs Lifestealer was actually used, with Lifestealer Assimilating a Pudge with Rot on: ua-cam.com/video/2u2wiweppDU/v-deo.htmlsi=gq6EHjT9hWBqxv4R

cant believe bottle ferrying was a thing until TI5, it feels like forever since it was removed from the game, here in the Philippines, we call it the "bote crow" technique. haha
That’s really good note, CDEC can’t play Leshrac mid. Could be the mid laner hero pool. It was a gamble by PPD. Only puppey and him would be daring to do during that time.
I think the values in Leshrac's abilities are there to signify imperfection or impurity.
No it's even simpler than that. It's more 'oMg chAOs!!😧😧'
Baumi is now canonically an adult mud golem
We just watch him for his gf
Busty wench 😊

Crack him, to double video output.

It's so great revisiting these old TI games. LD and Lumi casting together..... it was a joyful time
Those two alongside alliance and navi made TI3 an unbelievable experience.
I enjoy watching lumi's old dota 1 videos still
They were so big
The production value and information leeps betting better with each successive video! Keep it up!
I'd love to see the story of Lina the Slayer! She's been a support, and a mid, and a carry throughout her life time. And I think it's heroes like that that have the most interesting stories.
Good idea. Lina is one of the OG heroes from all the way back in the first DotA Allstars map in 2004. Lots of history to cover for this one.
Lina Inverse was a great champion
Totally! One of my oldest heroes. I love her.

Though I do miss the part where a pro/experienced player speaks about the situation too
Baumi tried but was too hard
Yeah I always look forward to the guest spots!
I've watched every single one of these and I've been so excited for the episode on Leshrauc, because he's been talked about in every other episode.
