Although it seems a bit odd at first, almost everything on the control screen can be done by voice command. No need to find the controls on the screen.
That is true, i didn't have long enough to start playing around with VC but i do use it a lot on my Apple and Alexia, so i think i would like it
I owned a model 3 for 2 years and Tish is spot on with her review. If you are a car enthusiast, this might bore you but it’s still a fantastic daily driver. Tish, you are awesome!!
9:00 looks like the future stations we will start to see very soon. Very impressive
It's a really cool place!
I won't lie, I had low expectations for this video as a Model 3 Performance owner myself but... You were spot on. Well done, very good video. I also found the car to be soul less but I've added all of the missing things myself. Displays behind the steering wheel, upgraded Ohlins suspension, better wheels, custom Steering wheel, larger rear spoiler, sequential rear lights etc etc. All in I've spent an additional 8K but it's transformed the overall experience and added back the soul. As a car guy myself it's amazing having so many accessories available on AliExpress. You can really go crazy. More than any other car. Do I love it? I'm getting there.
Thank you, that is really interesting.... I would love to see that?
Plus with the performance you also get track mode which allows you to give the drive train a bit more personality too :)
Do you think "soul" maybe comes from the experience of building cars for a hundred years or so? I have a friend who let me drive her i3, and I must admit, I believe it was the nicest driving experience I've ever had.
Great review, funny and fantastic to see your Mum and Dad's reactions as well.
Thank you for watching!
Great video Tish. I love how your dad was egging you on to accelerate all the time!
He absolutely loves it. Him and the Tesla is currently his display picture on Facebook now 😂😂😂😂😂
@@AutoSocialUK haha that’s awesome! I can see where you get your love of cars from!
My model 3 delivery is this Saturday. I'm so excited. We are taking a beach trip immediately.
Good point about 'when the gimmicks run out'. I do like a few dials and the easy interaction they provide.
Even just the speed ahead so you don't have to look to the left would have been nice!
@@AutoSocialUK I have had a couple of cars that have the speed to the side. It's something u quickly get used to. Same as the interface. Voice commands or just knowing shortcuts to items become seco d nature. I liken teslas to the move from blackberry's to iPhones.
Loved this review. Refreshingly honest!
Thank you, I am really glad you enjoyed it!
This was by far one of your best reviews to date. Seems like your alot better at giving your opinion when you haven't scripted the content. I'd like to see more reviews in this format, its alot more natural and you really gel with the audience..
And your 100% right the door handles are fiddely to use, the white leather is nice but as its not real leather I think it will tarnish easily and the wheels definitely let them down 🙂🙂
I totally get your comment 🙈 I will try more of these videos, I guess from a ‘building a career’ point of view - that is why is stick to the formatted reviews. I will try and move more out of my comfort zone though, glad you agreed with my points.
Found your video randomly lol I will be getting mine soon. Glad to hear your opinion about the vehicle
Best video yet. Have a great day :)
Love the happy smiles on acceleration
That is a brilliant review. I had similar thoughts after a test drive.
This was a great watch! Waiting for my delivery day! Great video! Your parents seem awesome :)
Thank you so much for watching! Congratulations on your new car!
Great video 👍you have done a brilliant job, love the Tesla
Thank you Malcolm…. I really miss the Tesla already!
Nice, honest video.
We’re two years on now with our SR+. It’s a beguiling beast…like a great album, it gets better each time. Fast, comfortable, roomy, fun, cheap to run and efficient…etc.
I see where you’re coming from regarding dials ‘n’ buttons, but after 50 years driving, I’m glad to be rid of them. ;) This is a ‘real’ car, with amazing tech and engineering, and drives like a banshee.
Thank you for sharing your experience
Loved this review
Glad you enjoyed it!
I can understand why people think it may be too simple or minimalistic but when u drive something else you'll realize why is everything all over the place and buttons everywhere. Then u go bk in a Tesla and you're like ok this makes sense. There's a big learning curve to Teslas but after you get it it's addicting and hard to go bk to anything else imo.
Enjoy the car, I have one myself and love driving it, it’s so easy to charge up and no messing around with apps and stuff.
I am so glad you enjoy it. Thank you for watching!
Great review, like the honesty and the charging station looks cool. I could live with that, stopping and charging for 45 mins, if it all helps in saving the environment 👍
Lovely video Tish. As always, it's a joy to watch your car reviews. Had a bit of a chuckle over your wonderful Essex accent. 1:19 "This is a Model Free" OK! I'll have two then! :D If you can twist someone's arm at a local Audi dealership, try out the new Q4 e-tron. I had a test drive in it yesterday. And for an SUV it's really a fun drive.
Hahaha a couple of people mentioned the 'model free' and I didn't understand! I should be able to text one in July at the Audi test day!
Another great video
Thank you!
Never heard of the Grid Serve feature but it looks swish! Great video. Thank you. X
They’re starting to pop a few up, the next one will be in Norwich. It’s the future ☺️
Feature? They have just bought out the Electric Highway entirely which is great news as EH has failed us EV owners for the last fews years. Chargers are being replaced asap to faster more reliable models.
Wonderful review ❤️👸🏼
Thank you for watching!! ☺️☺️
Really loved this review - thank you so much. Would maybe like to know a bit more about the comfort of it when you are driving, particularly motorway driving (of course I am interested in that cos that is what I do!).
great video. very genuine. nice work.
Thank you very much for your kind comment and I am glad you enjoyed it!
Test drove one in April - it was like going from a Horse & cart into a Ferrari - absolute mind blowing experience. So much so we ordered one & should be driving it in November. Love it
How exciting! bet you're counting down the days!
Great video. I love the more personal, opinion/vlog style. Also great seeing you in some great new EV's (not that the Model 3 is new, but you know what I mean)
I totally agree with your take on the Tesla, it ticks so many boxes, but just seems to be missing some passion. Glad they're pushing the whole industry forward in terms of performance, efficiency and software though, just look how far we've come in the last 5 years alone.
Thank you, I really love filming videos like this and they’re much easier to edit! Just unfortunately I don’t always have the time to do them like this. I’ll try and mix them up from time-to-time ☺️
Yer absolutely, even though it’s not for me. I can see why it’s great for other people and they’ve really set that bar in terms of technology for other companies!
It’s gorgeous!
Even at old petrol prices , my old car (just ordered a new car) used to cost 25 to 30 quid to get just over 220 miles off driving.. so the most impressive thing about this video is the price of charging.. (although 0-60 in 4.2 is very impressive too)
The simplicity with no dials and buttons is what I love about it actually.
It is very clean and neat!
Good review,
On one note It’s not leather, it’s a vegan friendly material, also very highly stain resistant, more so then the black seats actually. You can also do a voice control so open then charge port by saying open butt hole!! Just a useful tip for you there.
Performance wheels are much much better, put that in drift mode and you wouldn’t be saying it’s soulless gadgets don’t wear thin, try charging a Etron or Taycan bored with no Netflix, them cars are also not as safe or practical, and if you have the full self driving pack and when we get the new version 9 and the car drives itself well no more to say really.
It's really interesting getting your initial first impressions on the Model 3! I share a lot of your conclusions, which are just completely baffling to Tesla owners who don't understand why anybody doesn't want one.
I know…. I’m a little bit scared of Tesla owners although, after driving one I can see how easy it would be to fall in love with one
@@AutoSocialUK I just bought a Tesla (waiting for delivery) and have done my research, there is so much more to the Tesla then you have shown I think, but I bought it for the power, the handling and the benefit to the environment. I bought the white with black as I didn't want to have to constantly worry about the seats being marked and the white does look too clinical. The more you delve into the Tesla world, the more you realise what it can do
Yet they’re one of the biggest selling cars in the UK...
i like the tesla too tish very posh white seats wow ,great video as always ,,keep safe
Thank you Craig!
@@AutoSocialUK every thing you said about this car i beleave nice see your mum and dad
I agree with you tish that controlling everything via the screen is just to fiddly for the driver and can be distracting.
They have a little virtual road that sits to the right of the screen and it stays there the whole time (apparently it was even made larger in the last update) and I kept getting distracted and watching that instead!
Thanks for summarizing very nicely: Teslas are missing "something", but would you pay double the price to get some buttons? No. But many keep on waiting if they can still tolerate the combustion engine with its lags, issues, and other gimmics.
Loved your review I can never aford a car like that
loved your mum and dad reaction to the car.
your mum and dad are very nice people.
can you do a review on the mii seat electric
and any used evs eg mk1 30kwh leaf or e vw golf.
I will definitely try and get hold of a Mii, thank you for watching ☺️
Excellent and well balanced review. I own a Model 3 -- bought late last year. I love the car, and I love driving it, but your reservations are legit. I would have liked a heads up display on the windshield. I agree that the upgraded wheels really don't look great, but the base wheels did not suit me.
Thank you very much. It has blown my mind that you can pull the plastic wheel trims off the base alloys and there is a pretty nice set underneath!
@@AutoSocialUK Yes, Indeed. 18 inch wheels. The upgrade has 19 inchers.
It's not a car, it's more like a gadget. I like that
The thing is: the gimmicks don't run out - because they aren't gimmicks. Been driving mine for 2.5 years now, and it never gets old.
Yer I completely get that, I guess it takes a really long time to learn everything too!
Great video tish, I agree with you about the lack of buttons, its not car like, this is the sort of simple setups for an autonomous car. I don't know how you managed with the lack of dash clocks. They are wicked powerful though and the ranges are great and that interior, the seats especially look stunning. Why no handle for the glove box though 😂
I guess that was always what the TELSA was built to do though and you do have to admire them for being different. I think I don’t mind no buttons (I love being minimalist) but I really do wish it had a digi drivers display.
@@AutoSocialUK they are different and unique in a good way. All down to preference with many isn't it, some like the super minimalist some want more and some just won't like it. I'd prefer some buttons and knobs and dials.
Liking the vlog review style by the way, your mum and dads reactions were good too.
I love the white interior. Not sure it’s practical with two kids and a Labrador though. Great review Tish. 👍
Apparently the woman in the shop when I dropped it back said extremely easy to wipe clean….. next time I have one, I might need to test it!
I have had a Tesla Model X for four years and just got a model 3 performance as well so I really do like the Teslas but I still think you have got it spot on. You did a really great job with this review and approached in in the right way (apart maybe from not noticing that the in car navigation system is in fact google maps).
The model 3 is a fantastic car but it IS clinical and souless, you are right. I love both these cars (not as fond of the S) but I absolutely get what you felt and am disappointed that they are all gradually starting to look the same too. The X and the S have a little more soul in my view, at least the current ones do so maybe you should try one of those for a few days too. Great video and thanks.
The car nav isn’t Google maps. It uses the Google map for graphics but the nav system is Tesla’s own + Mapbox
The future of electric station. Nice.
It’s so awesome isn’t it! The next one is going up in Norwich!
I found your site by accident as it came up when I was watching one of the many car UA-camrs, but you are so refreshing in your approach.
Have to say what a great video style you've got , and I fully agree with the conclusion. A friend has just got the same car in red and as a true die hard petrol head it's just tooooooo clinical. Can't deny the great technology though, just a few years too early for me....😎
Keep up the great work, you deserve to be a huge success on here.... 😁👍
Thank you so much for sharing your comment Tony, that is so kind. A couple of negative comments recently (the minority) but a nice comment makes up for it completely.
I agree, a couple of years too early for me too. If I knew I could get to a GRIDSERVE everywhere I went I would feel happy but atm I’m not up for that risk. In a couple of years as a second car though, I think I would be more than happy. As long as I had a nice noisy toy in the garage!! 😁😁
Thank you, that’s the plan and I’m going to keep going until I get there!
such a pretty car
Good review, I have a question can you start the car from the app or preheat it.
Yes you can do both
Sooo jealous!!
I’m very lucky.
That is a BRILLIANT video so so truthful, honest thoughts. But a truly Quality Car. Perhaps lacking abit of Car Stuff🥲
Thank you for watching ☺️
what did you think of the build quality.. the trim and things? For £47K how would it compare to a Audi or BMW build quality? Is it you pay for the tech, more than the way it's put together?
I only had it for a weekend and it just wasn’t long enough to find any issues with build quality
You got a new sub
thank you so much!
Love you 😻
Your Mum and Dad are quite fun, lovely people.
Nice
Looks a very nice looking car too, hopefully more people will start to choose these types of electric cars.
I think that they will start to buy more and more of them!
late to the party but there is aftermarket parts you can buy to get buttons and drivers screen etc.
I watch many videos from England, I have noticed that you guys park your cars in any direction on the streets, at your Dads house some cars are heading one way and others are heading the other way! We cant do that here in the U.S as people have pulled out and head-onned the cars coming the other way, is there a reason you can park in either direction? Even down town, 8 cars heading north, 6 heading south, what's up with that? All on the same side of the street, Thanks.
It happened many times: why after we reach to our destination, rain stops ??? lol
I enjoyed watching the Video. A very popular Electric Car In the UK 🇬🇧
They’re definitely getting more and more popular and I can see why!
The Taycan is a beautiful car for sure🤙🏽
Definitely agree!
Pretty good review. It can take some time to get used to the reasoning behind some of the design decisions with Tesla vehicles. One of the most common things I see as a negative in reviews is the glovebox only able to be opened from within the display. Yes this is true for most drivers, however I use mine as a security device. There is a USB port in the glovebox that is used to plug in a USB drive for your security camera footage. Since you can only open the box via the app/voice control/display, someone that breaks into the car doesn't have immediate access without breaking the glovebox open. You can lock it with a pin code, so only you can access it. Same thing with the front trunk (frunk). Just my thoughts as a Tesla owner. =)
In old cars they had a key for the glove box.
I was meant to be picking up Tesla Model 3 long range tomorrow, but I’ve got covid so I have to wait till next week 🙁I am still apprehensive about making the switch, I like gadgets and tech though so I’m hoping I like it
Another excellent review Tish! I really enjoy these type of VLOGS that you record too! Well Done again! 👏🏻👍🏻
Thank you, less fact dumping is nice sometimes. I’ll try to mix them in from time to time!
White seats are easy to clean btw. Just use non alcohol based baby wipes and you should be good. Use them for ur hands and ur seats!!
Tesla has the range, handling, acceleration, sunroof, sound system, entertainment, mobile phone App, ultra low running costs and depreciation. It’s one of the safest cars ever tested, gets over the air updates to improve the car over time and has the supercharger network to make longer journeys a breeze. Your right about the wheels though, I’d power coat the dark grey or black for a sharper look. It’s not a cheap car but over time with reduces servicing, maintenance and fuel costs it’s minimal running costs including £0 VED. The tyres will be your greatest expense. Look out for the up coming Tesla Model Y due for release later this year or early next year. Tesla’s Crossover family 7 seater will be a game changer.👍
Completely agree with everything you’re saying. I do miss the car a lot.
@@AutoSocialUK Indeed, it’s a fantastic car. My wife prefers her Mini Cooper works to the Tesla, she says it’s just more like a car than the Tesla. Anyhoo, a great review, I look forward to more car content👍
Hi Tish, nice one! I'd love to drive one of these Teslas. But I could never own one. It's just too gimmicky and plain looking for my taste.
Also loved to see your parents and their reactions to the acceleration! Do it again Tish! So vintage dad. LMAO 😂👍
Hahaha thank you for watching. My dad was loving it!
If you like the bare look inside then great, white leather just not practical for most but great range, lack of android auto / apple car play is very bizarre and a deal breaker for many i am sure. What was Tesla thinking? Would be nice to see it with the 18’’ Aero Wheels.Great video.Thanks.
Lots have pointed out that the maps is run by google anyway so maybe they think no need for carplay?
I agree with you 100% it a lovely car but just not my cup of tea. Does it have a seat warmer
Yes it did have heated seats and steering wheel 🤗 usually something I would mention but luckily it has been lovely weather!
Love your accent… congrats from the US
Thank you very much!
Really enjoyed this, I love your presentation style!
I agree about the wheels, very boring, needs a touch of chrome around the edges at least.
it looks better with the license plate on it, here in the U.S people don't put on the front one,
so the nose looks like a piggy with not even a hint of a grille of any sort, love your accent,
you are a sweetheart, keep up the great reviews, from Southern Ca.
It's a bit too gimmicky. As you say, once the novelty wears off, it's just another car.
I don't like the fact that everything had to be controlled by the screen, even the glove box.
My nieces and nephews would no doubt get a laugh out of the sound effect gimmicks, though.
But, Teslas in general just don't do it for me. For the price of one, I'd be going for something a bit more sensible.
The center-mounted touch screen controls are a big fail, in my mind. I really like buttons, switches, and knobs that I can operate entirely by feel, without deflecting my gaze from the road ahead -- much too distracting.
Nice review and personality and don't you get free charges when you send a code or something
Any issues with the car? Does battery range drop after time ?
I don’t personally know but there is lots of owners commenting on this video - you could maybe ask them ☺️
Love your honest opinion. As for the white seats, it's so easy to clean! All it needs are some wipes. Simple.
Also, you could have used the voice command for navigation/glove box/etc. I too would have prefer some essential physical knobs/buttons in the model 3. That's why I prefer the Model S/X instead.
I found out how easy the seats were to clean when I dropped the car back - I would be keen to try that out. Yes unfortunately I saw a video about the voice command towards the end of the weekend (I’ll be honest, I hadn’t found the button) I was keen to try ‘open but hole’ 😂 (I really hope you know what that is)
Love your accent! Now that it’s gone, do you miss it?
Lovely young lady and lovely parents, your videos are very enjoyable thank you
Thank you so much for watching
Love the car - what are the monthly payments like on it?
Hi, I am really sorry. I am not clued up on Tesla monthly payments. I can imagine they are very competitive to lease.
I don't know why everyone is complaining about the glove box entry. First of all, I can count the amount of times I open my glove box a year on one hand. Secondly, the USB stick that stores sentry mode video is located there. If there was a simple button, all the thief would have to do is open your glove box and pull out the USB stick. Gone is all the video proof you have of someone breaking into your car.
What is Hannah’s link
Do tis exist fully autopiolt mode like as model x and y??
If you pay extra for it , yes
I think u would have got more out of it with a bit of research first. Just about to order a standard range plus. I have been a tesla fan since the roadster though. I would love the cybertruck too to replace our other vehicle.
Teslas are the best cars for your money. You get the charging network, tech (AP/FSD), performance, efficiency, safety (safest cars on the road) and fun. There are loads of good options out there besides Teslas and some have better options but as a whole Teslas IMO win. No other company is actually building out the infrastructure for their EVs and Tesla is doing it at an alarming pace. Plus with new software updates especially with the one coming in a few weeks itll make your Tesla feel like a new car. No other company can compete with Teslas software. Yes I am a fanboy.
I completely see why as well. It must be quite exciting actually, owning a car and thinking…. ‘Oooo I’ve got an update soon, I wonder what I’m going to get’
There is always something "great coming real soon now" with Tesla though and most, though not all, upgrades are not worth it or make things worse.
I actually don’t mind the wheels but I agree with the rest of your summary although for me if you keep looking at it there is something not quite right about the proportions. A bit like the Mazda RX8 it just looks wrong from some angles
Yer I get what you mean. I do prefer the looks of the Polestar 2 although I did like the Tesla more in person!
Wish I could "head over to Hannah's channel", but I have no idea who that is, and there are lots of Hannahs on UA-cam, none of which seem to feature "the second part of this video". :( Would've been nice to simply link to the channel (or better, directly to the video).
Sorry Patrick, I finished uploading this last night late and forgot to pop some links to Hannah’s channel. It’s ‘Hannah’s car torque’ video will be going live over the next couple of days. I’ll add the links it now ☺️
Can't lie, you do look good in a Tesla
Any time you want to get back to the map view just press the music icon. It removed any windows that are showing. :)
Also, when heading to a DC fast charger it helps to tell the navigation that you are going there. It’ll warm the battery up which speeds up the charging rate.
Wow really interesting! Thank you for sharing!
Essex girl does car review. Luv it
The boot does have a normal opening button on the lid fyi. :)
Hahahaha oh does it? I couldn't find it!
Why charge at the CCS chargers and not at the bank of Superchargers specifically put there for Teslas?
The Tesla chargers aren’t in action yet 😁 A Tesla issue not Gridserve
@@AutoSocialUK Thank you. I didn't know that. Tesla losing their edge in the UK.
To be honest Tish I prefer my new 2021 Citroën C4 Shine Plus. This is too minimalist to be honest, the power mind I bet it’s amazing.
I would care to agree with you. I love the Ec4!
You need to test the PLAID version now! Call ELON.
😍
Get a pro to powder coat on those wheels in black they look 🔥🔥✌️
So glad you reversed the thumbnail. It completely defeated reading the number plate. :)
I am not sure if this was sarcastic but the other way my head would have been cut off!
You can do voice command for the glove box
Thank you, that would be easier!
Still more tedious than just reaching over and pressing a button like you can on the Model S and X
I like the interior but a full glass roof here in Oz converts it into a literal oven. Subjective but I think the wheels are the best looking part.
Yer I bet although with the smart phone app you can pre-condition the car. So if you got it right, you’d always be getting into a cool car 😎
@@AutoSocialUK By the end of a 45°C day it would have used the entire battey just keeping cool!
@@CathodeRayNipplez You don't keep it cool all day, just turn climate on for 5-10 minutes before you're getting back into the car
@@kyledavis5908 You are obviously from the UK and are completely clueless to the issues of living in a glasshouse in the Sahara desert. Mate, unlike where you live our sun actually MELTS THINGS! Living under glass here is suicide.
I'm in Perth and I took one out the other day with a 36°C max. Hardly noticed the heat through the roof.
You don’t need to push any buttons.. you can use voice commands for everything. I think you actually need to know all the ins and outs of a car before making judgment. Saying that I really enjoyed the content good vid!👍🏻
Yes I do agree, this is why these are my 'first impressions' who knows.... one day I might be doing a 'Telsa owners video'
Hi Tish, lovely video.. My wife & I watched it together & really like it.. Is it possible to share how you were able to rent the car & how much it cost ? Many Thanks
Hello, thank you so much for working. I am very fortunate that because I have this channel they leant me it for the weekend to create some content. I can imagine there are places to rent them, I will have a look into it for you :)
Check out UFOdrive. I have rented a model 3 standard range for four days with optional insurance excess reduction for £106/day.
@@Mark-Stone Nice 1, thanks !! Will definitely give it a try..
@@AutoSocialUK Thanks for the update
Lovely car, not sure about the white interior though, no way would that stay clean with our little dog :-) good video, shame someone told your dad though, would of been nice to see his reaction :-) x x
