Well, as painful as it is, OP finding out about her sister and her ex did her a favour and as it helped her cut two toxic weeds out of her life before they sucked the life out of her, and now she has no unnecessary baggage keeping her from living a happier life. As for the sister and the ex, they are a self-destructive match made in hell and they deserve each other. They've destroyed any and all supportive relationships around them leaving them only with each other in their own misery. I'm glad it spurred the OP to get therapy. It was sad hearing about how the OP was sacrificing everything in her life for their sakes. She needs to spend time just appreciating herself for once and not vying for someone's love and pampering other people to avoid her grief. And she dodged a major bullet. I've talked about my own experiences with my sister and what I'd tell this OP is to get that even though she betrayed me she's still my sister stuff out of her head. Familiar ties like any other can and should be cut off when their actions dictate doing so.

I've been low. When you're already low getting other bad stuff isn't too bad. You're already at rock bottom so more bad stuff can't hurt you any more. So it's easier to come through it. You still need therapy and help to process but overall there is less to process than if you dealt with it separately.

For those who don't live in Canada or have never visited, Canadian Tire is a bit of a misnomer, although they do sell and install tires. Depending on the location, you can get small appliances, kitchen ware, barbecues, patio furniture, plants, paint, light fixtures, bikes, sporting equipment, tools, automotive supplies and in some cases, even party supplies. Need a charging cable or other random item, look there because you might just find it. Oh and snacks too, most of them have chips, nuts and candy at the front of the store. Their stock is seasonal so lawn mowers and gardening stuff for summer turns rakes and leaf blowers in fall then to snow blowers and snow shovels in winter along with Christmas decorations etc.

Mental health wise, this is the realest post ever.. this post needs to be case studied because this explains genuinely what happens and how you feel.. not the why or anything.. just the Trauma part. Also if u don't like clinical support, look into peer support. I strongly dislike clinical therapy but there are other resources that I find therapeutic.. I value speaking with someone who has Lived experience to speaking with a person with a degree but that's my preference. I support all forms of mental health and self care

Soulless people do not get hit with karma, since they are not capable of self-reflection, unlike souled people, which is what karma is about - learning lessons. So glad she kicked them out, redecorated and they’re spiralling, and went through therapy which really helped her see what was really happening in her life and truly see the terrible people her ex and sister actually are, misery truly does love company!

I've been low. When you're already low getting other bad stuff isn't too bad. You're already at rock bottom so more bad stuff can't hurt you any more.
So it's easier to come through it. You still need therapy and help to process but overall there is less to process than if you dealt with it separately.

The mom might have been all " But family ! " if she didn't know doing so would cause serious problems with her husband. I think the dad did instigate the process of disowning the sister among the immediate family but the foolishly self destructive sister completed the process when she started stealing from her extended family.

Story 1: I would not only go NC with the sister, but I would never help her again, even if she was living on the streets or in need of life saving medical treatment. She would be dead to me and I would never forgive her nor allow her back into my life. I would also inform the parents and tell them that any attempt at forced reconciliation would lead to permanent severance of my relationship with them. I would also do likewise with the ex.
For those who don't live in Canada or have never visited, Canadian Tire is a bit of a misnomer, although they do sell and install tires. Depending on the location, you can get small appliances, kitchen ware, barbecues, patio furniture, plants, paint, light fixtures, bikes, sporting equipment, tools, automotive supplies and in some cases, even party supplies. Need a charging cable or other random item, look there because you might just find it. Oh and snacks too, most of them have chips, nuts and candy at the front of the store. Their stock is seasonal so lawn mowers and gardening stuff for summer turns rakes and leaf blowers in fall then to snow blowers and snow shovels in winter along with Christmas decorations etc.

1) cheated on before the wedding
2) betrayed by a close family member (op's own SISTER)

Mental health wise, this is the realest post ever.. this post needs to be case studied because this explains genuinely what happens and how you feel.. not the why or anything.. just the Trauma part. Also if u don't like clinical support, look into peer support. I strongly dislike clinical therapy but there are other resources that I find therapeutic.. I value speaking with someone who has Lived experience to speaking with a person with a degree but that's my preference. I support all forms of mental health and self care

That last ones seems like a lie lol. Ive had tons of recalled tools you have to get a refund from the manufacturer in pretty much every case. The exception being if the tool is a brand from the store. But even then they usually make you send it in and they never just give cash back.

I really enjoy listening to these stories, so thank you! Just one thing - you say at the end that the ex and the sister will get their karma, but I doubt whether these people have a soul. Soulless people do not get hit with karma, since they are not capable of self-reflection, unlike souled people, which is what karma is about - learning lessons.
