- In this video I show you how to set up your GOXLR routing table and then add the different sources to OBS. This will work for dual (streamer pc) and single pc setup. I have watched a lot of videos on YT and none of them show how to set it up like this. I’m hoping this will help solve some problems and get rid of the limitations that the generic setup has.

hey i bought a pc and didnt look this far ahead but, it has no optical port for anxlr cable, single pc... is there a way to still hook up goxlr to my pc without ruining audio quality?

Hey man by any chance would you be able to help me? When I’m recording you can hear my pc audio fine but it’s also playing in my microphone if that makes sense , so I have 2 audios playing , I have a sm7b and goxlr

This is the best video I've found to help me with this. I originally set my dual-pc streaming setup with my GOXLR going through my Gaming PC but it was such a nightmare to do and actually made it so much more difficult. I found this video, routed it through my streaming PC how I originally wanted but couldn't figure out the correct routing. This video helped with that so much. Thank you!

I spent a long time focusing on a different channel when I was streaming. This was always a side project that I was never consistent with. However since I stopped streaming I’m about to launch a video podcast on here starting this weekend. Since recording the video I've realised that the goxlr mute button for my discord chat doesn't mute on stream. I instead just have this set to mute for headphones. If you do want this option you could just set a hot key in OBS to mute the specific sound channel for the discord chat.

DUDE YOU ARE A GENIUS!! Sounds like exactly what i need , i was looking for a way to seperate my game audio and mic but i have always had my goxlr connected to my gaming pc, i do have one question, if i record a video then input the video into my editing software will the tracks automatically be seperated or do i have to also set this up in obs audio settings for the inputs and outputs to be recorded to seperate tracks?
You need to set this up as separate audio tracks but this is easy with this setup. You just have to change recording settings to advance, then select how many audio tracks you want and then tick these by clicking on sound input advance settings.
Thank you! My sound problems have been driving me crazy both before and during my stream until now. Do you know if its possible to have a wireless headset, or since everything goes through the Go XLR, the only way to use headphones are wired?

Thank you for this awesome video which allowed me to solve the main issue I had with GoXLR! Everything seems to work fine so far, but I'm still facing a little inconvenience: do you think there is a way to route samples to discord, too? I mean, when I set my discord input as Sample, people can hear me on discord but they can't hear the samples I have on my GoXLR. Basically, I wish both my viewers (they do thanks to the Sampler output on OBS) and people on Discord could hear it. Thanks
I've had a think about this and I don't think it's possible on a dual pc without a compromise. If you do what the other comment says you can achieve this but then you need to route the game audio on a different channel.

Question, do you run Discord on your gaming or streaming PC? It seems when I do everything on the routing tab that you did, people in my discord can hear whatever I am playing if I have discord open on my streaming PC, but if I run discord on my Gaming PC, then they can't hear my FX and Samples and all the fun stuff I want them to.

Awesome video it definitely helped a lot! I had a few questions though as a single PC user with Blue Yeti X mic (connects to XLR by 3.5mm), Astro A50 w/ base station (connects to XLR by 3.5mm then to PC by micro USB to USB), stream deck XL and stream deck pedal (connects to PC by USB)..
1. The sampler cannot be heard from people in my game chat but other things like the voice changer can. Is there a way to include the sampler?
2. I set mine up the way you did but for some reason the voice chat slider does not go up and down when people in game chat are talking, is there any fix for these issues?
3. Should I be unchecking Line In on go XLR for all?

I would double check that your specific in game sound settings for input and output have been changed to sampler and voice chat. Also make sure that your windows sound input is set to sampler.

Hey! Is there anyway I can change my headphones from 3d audio/surround sound back to left to right, more simple audio? I hate playing competitive games with this feature.
Very good video. I do have one problem. Lol. My GoXLR is plugged into my gaming PC and I have all audio “line out” into my streaming PC. I’m not sure why I did it this way, it’s probably because I use an Elgato HD60S capture card so all audio runs through there.
I simply want to stop my music from being recorded in my VODS when I’m playing and listening to Spotify for copyright protection. What else can I do to accomplish this? Or am I screwed? Lol
so you sent the usb of go xlr to stream pc? what about line in and out? what goes to game pc?
I have followed this guide to the letter and the only thing I can get to come thru on the stream in my Mic and the music ... What do i set the audio in the OBS settings to? and if i click broadcast on the other things like game in routing table im not sure that its mixing right because now ive got 1 slider in the audio that shows the game and music pushing that slider into the red.
Is there something I am missing?

Great tutorial! One question, The only part you don't show is what you have in the "Global Audio Devices" in the OBS audio settings?
I personally have all of these disabled. All having these enabled does is when you create a new scene it auto adds these audio channels. I just copy and paste my audio channels when I create new scenes.

Excellent ! I use it since 4 days and it works perfectly. I just noticed something disturbing. Sampler record is only using my microphone. I would like it use my gaming computer too (Line in)
With this setup only mic is captured; but its fine ! Multi track is worth than that

How do you make it so whenever you join a vc on discord people can hear your goxlr fx? for example there are streamer's out there who join discord calls and use their voice fx from the goxlr or their samples and the other people who are in that call can hear it! but I'm having a hard time understanding what settings the goxlr are needs to be on discord in order for people to hear my fx and samples. Hey man I really love the video and the time you put into it, but my question is can I still have a goxlr even if I don’t stream? I wonna be able to use it when I am gaming to adjust the volume or mute discord and other stuff like that.
Yeah 100%. I use mine all time when I’m not streaming. I couldn’t live with out it. I would recommend looking at the GOXLR mini or there is a new brand that has recently released a device called the Beacn Mix. This has had some very good reviews.

hey man! your video is THE video that helped me after looking through hundreds for the right setup, so cheers! Quick question after using this setup for a few months. One thing i didnt realize is that while OBS starts picking up Discord audio using that chat volume, the goxlr volume slider only effects the chat (discord) volume for my headphones and doesnt actually adjust the volume in OBS for what viewers are hearing. Any ideas?
Hey, yeah this is a mistake in the video I made. This is not possible with my setup. Best off just setting up limiters and compressors for the audio channel is obs to stop it being too loud. I have another video on UA-cam I posted recently about that.

I ended up using my stream deck to control incoming chat audio from discord for OBS instead so the problem is fixed I just wanted to be sure I couldn’t fix it with GoXLR. Thanks!

If you've copied the routing table exactly like it is in the video then the windows sound input setting should put set to sample. I forgot to go over this in the video but you can see it at 7.26min.
@@BenKaluza Sorry for my poor English but I was talking more about the microphone settings in the goXLR software (gate, equalizer, ...). I tried several combinations but I can't find anything of quality... 😅
@@eleaurbain6879 no worries. Ok so I won’t list out all of the different setting names within each but if you open up the gate, equaliser, compressor and de-esser these are my values. Gain: 50. Gate: -55, 100%, 10, 250. EQ: 2,2,2-2,-1-1-1,0,0,0. Compressor: -10, 3.2:1, 2, 45, 0. De-esser: 50.

Hi, I have a question, I have done everything to the point where i can hear my gaming pc audio through my goxrl, aswell as my streaming pc audio without any issues! But as im trying to add the ''audio inputs'' into OBS on my streaming pc, using ''Chat mic'' for my ''game'' audio for instance, it won't show it being picked up on OBS. Do you know what i'm doing wrong?
1st thing I would ask is if the line-in to chat mic is ticked on the routing table? If you say you can hear your gaming pc through the goxlr then that should mean the line out to line in is setup and working. So just need to make sure the line-in is mapped to the chat mic output, then add this as an audio input in obs. You may have already done all of that but just wanted to double check.
Great video thanks. Can I ask you something. I use the goxlr mini and all audio come through one line in on obs but when someone reacts to my stream I can't hear it and stream can. Any ideas to what I can do to fix this?

hello brother new sub here and i just got the goxlr mini (same general configuration) my question with this is , do you hear all your audio in your headphones with alerts and all??
Yoo, yeah all audio comes through headphones including alerts and also plays on stream. These sounds will go through desktop audio channel in obs and in your headphones through the system sound. Occasionally my alerts don’t play but I think that is a streamelements/obs issue and not to do with the GOXLR.
The audio disappears in the middle of the livestream, how can I fix . I m using forcusrite
Hey brother , i have the same exact set up as you and i love it. Question , what if i want to play a sample sound so that ppl in my warzone game can hear it , how do i do that ? what routing do i turn on ? or is it even posible.. 🤔
You could maybe use voicemeeter to do this. Route both your mic and sample sound into voicemeeter and then output them into one virtual audio output. Then change this to your mic in game settings.

@@PreciseAimm yeah I just checked and you can def do it. So add both audio inputs into voicemeeter, make sure b1 is selected for both, then this will output both sounds to the virtual output that is created when you download the program.
ohh ok, hey is there anyway i can use my astro a40 mic on both gaming and streamin pc instead of my shure mic? …. i tryed and i get signal from my mic on the gaming pc but not on the streaming pc . any idea? Thanks

Thank you for the video! Regarding this setup. Does it allow you to still listen and watch videos on your gaming PC while being able to adjust them with faders? Or does your streaming PC become the one that you do everything on apart from gaming? I ask because I'd rather be able to watch videos on my gaming monitor.
Yeah you don’t need your streaming pc turned on for the GOXLR to still work with gaming. You can adjust volume with headphone slider.

The USB on the GoXLR is plugged into my streaming PC.
Line out of GOXLR into line in of gaming PC
Line out of gaming PC into Line In of GoXLR
Everything is routed the same in the GoXLR app of the streaming PC, and OBS has the correct inputs. The only thing that works is music and mic on the streaming PC, but that much should be a given. I really just want to be able to hear audio of whatever I'm doing on my gaming pc, be it youtube or my game and it's been rather elusive.
@@eddie7441 this will be related to the output selected on your gaming pc. I had similar issues before. On mine it’s set to Realtek speakers. I would have a play around with all your audio outputs on your gaming pc.

@@BenKaluza Hey, I'm stuck on one last part of this setup, which is setting up the desktop audio capture in OBS. I notice that you have the Desktop and Game as separate controllable sources within OBS. However they seem intertwined for me, as in both my browser and game audio are captured on the same source.
How does assigning desktop as System separate it from the audio coming in from the gaming PC since any audio comes in from the Line In?

question. I’m trying to control the level of my music on my stream through my goxlr using the mixer knob. however it only increases/decreases sound in my headphone but not in stream. how do I go about fixing this issue
Go into Control settings then audio then underneath global audio devices set mic/auxiliary audio to broadcast steam mix. Then in sourses make your music broadcast stream mix.
Can you explain where to plug in the aux cords from the go xlr? Does it go from GoXlr to streaming or gaming pc?
Yeah sure sorry I missed this. Line out of GOXLR into line in of gaming (this for the mic).
Line out of gaming pc into line in of GOXLR (this is gaming audio). Then plug GOXLR usb into streaming. On my gaming pc windows sound settings are Realtek audio output and line-in go input.

One question though i am using a wireless headphones and acc to you my line in and line out both will be full wirh the cables going into the go xlr (acc to tc helicon i have to put an aux cable from headphone jack on goxlr to line in on my pc and listen to that device for my headphones to work) so now how will i hear my wireless headphones?

So I have a single pc and I stream mostly cod. the discord audio on obs doesn’t volume down when I turn it down on my goxlr, it only volumes down for my headphones and the game sound and the voice chat go into that same channel. My music works to be turned down with my goxlr for me and stream and so does my mic. I’m only having trouble with my voice chat and system audio.
So I figured out the game sound but now I just need help on the voice chat. My goxlr only puts down the volume for me on my headset but not on the obs

You press the mute button on the GOXLR

The reason I prefer this method over using the mute button on the GOXLR is because I use a foot pedal instead so I don’t have to take my hand off the controller.

hello, i'm still having audio echo while testing the sound for my stream, what could be causing it? Using single pc and the GoXLR mini. I'm thinking it might be something wrong in obs settings itself or in sound control panel?
Does the echo occur when you watch back a recording? Double check you haven’t got something else also capturing audio in obs. This once happened to me as my camera was also picking up audio as well as my mic.

If you have everything on the gaming PC, you can't separate audio sources in OBS
I’m still so confused on how to seperate my audios? I have my mic on streaming pc as if I ever want a gaming pc mic I’ll buy the astro one since I have headset. But i don’t get how to make each route like game music and chat different? I run music on my streaming pc but wanna hear it on gaming as well

When I try it shows the channel but the audio slider doesn't affect OBS Audio unless I route it to broadcast Stream Mix.
OH and i use Singel PC
In order to affect the volume of obs the sound on the slider has to be under an audio output in the GOXLR routing table.
I would recommend following exactly how I have done it in the video.
Does the colour in the fader moving up and down when you talking or playing a song?
Mine doesn't personally but I believe this is possible as I have seen others on stream doing this.

@@s2kmattshorts there should just be an on/off option for the browser source line? This plays the audio in your headphones that comes from that source. If this doesn’t work I’ll have a look tomorrow for you and try work it out.

The issue I'm having is when I go to my streaming PC and try to add these channels separately in OBS, I'm unable to do that because all of the audio from the GOXLR is coming over the 3.5mm cable to the line in of the streaming pc. I'm not able to select any other options...
You need to plug the usb into the streaming pc

So I followed everything to a tee and I am having one issue. I cannot adjust the slider for system audio. It adjusts the volume for me in my headphones, but doesn't adjust it in OBS and therefore not on stream. Anyone knows how to fix this? I'm going crazy trying to figure it out. I have my output audio set to System GoXLR as well.
You’re not alone. I also had this issue. Couldn’t work out why it wasn’t working despite system audio being set to my output. I gave up and didn’t ever find needing to use it.
I keep getting a white noise on my stream using this set up (haven't tried your settings), when streaming. I can't figure out what it is for the life of me. Any advice? I've tried just about everything, and support just suggested to buy a better sound card. Also, is this all set up through your streaming pc and routed to your gaming pc? or is it gaming pc to streaming pc?
Everything going into my streaming PC. Only thing going into gaming is the GOXLR out to gaming pc in. Difficult for me to work out the problem for you but I would try removing every cable one by one to see what is the cause of the noise. Then go from there. Often if you have an XLR mic the cable makes some static noise. Is the noise actually playing on stream or is it just though your headphones?
@@BenKaluza It's playing on stream when routing my stream to my streaming PC. When using only my gaming PC when streaming, World of Warcraft, everything works fine, no background noise or white noise when live. But. when I want to stream COD (Warzone), and use my streaming pc, I have all the audio issues. I haven't tried to set it up on my streaming pc to gaming pc yet, would rather not but if I have to I will. Also, Nvidia Broadcast doesn't work when I have it set up on my gaming PC routed through the line out to my streaming pc, it picks up all noises on my stream. Not sure if that is causing it, by just running that program. Hopefully I'm explaining that correctly. I bought a higher end 3.5 mm cable so I will try that when I get a chance.
It's just funny to me. I went back to my Elgato Wave 3, and running the audio through the Elgato Sound program to my streaming PC and everything works fine including the Nvidia Broadcast.

@@kylejenkins3963 are you routing your gaming audio into the the GOXLR via the pc line out to GOXLR line in? Your windows audio output should be set to Realtek speakers or Realtek output. There is no need for another program.
@@BenKaluza the GoXLR is hooked up to my gaming pc via the usb. Audio setup on gaming PC is all done through the GoXLR, chat mic, system, etc. I uninstalled the Elgato software when it is connected. Unless it is overriding it and I missed it, but before the default was the system setting for the GoXLR. The mic is set to Nvidia Broadcast for my gaming PC, but like I said it does not work when routed to my streaming pc.
The line out is going to my streaming pc via 3.5mm. On my streaming PC, on streamlabs, it is set to the Realtek audio. It picks up the audio just fine, it's just the white noise when streaming that comes up.
I'm abit late to this convo but have you tried a ground loop isolator connect it to your output AUX. Tbh never read all the reply in depth but I had the same issue and this help big time
Been using this setup now for months and it's been great. Strange issue though that's popped up. For some reason, when using NVIDIA Shadowplay to record video and audio on my gaming pc, none of the discord audio is being sent over to the streaming PC for that software to receive it. Not sure when this started. I was going through some videos from the past week and none of the audio from my discord on my streaming pc is making its way to the gaming pc. I am able to hear Discord and speak with friends in the channel, it's just that the audio isn't being sent over to the line in to my gaming pc. Any suggestions?
I’m not sure if it’s possible to send audio from the streaming pc to the gaming pc. The line in takes the audio from the mic but that’s it i believe. Unless you’ve had it working before?
@@BenKaluza I believe that's how it's been working in the past. I could be mistaken. I have Nvidia shadowplay recordings where it is picking up my game/mic/and discord chat on my gaming pc when discord is running on my streaming pc.
How are you getting your mic to work for in game on your gaming pc? Or is this not possible with this set up?

Dual pc set up with streaming computer del xps with nevida 2060 and gaming laptop alienware m15 r7... When i plug in the goxlr line out into the laptop line in then it recognizes it as a microphone usb audio device under the sound recording tab.... and i use the line out on the gaming laptop into the goxlr and it plays the game sound properly.... I dont understand why no sound is coming in through the line out of the goxlr when i have mirrored your routing table? Everything works in discord properly but just not in game. any advise? Thanks in advance.. your video was one out of 1,000 that actually worked for me 99% of the way... just this in game chat (both ways) dont work for me.

GOXLR doesn’t have an off switch and doesn’t need the streaming pc on to be able to hear gaming one. Trust me

@@GhostvOne software has to be loaded and GOXLR configured. Once that has been done you can turn your streaming pc off and it works. If you then want to just turn your gaming pc next day, you don’t need to turn streaming pc to work. You can also control volume by the headphone slider. If you unplug GOXLR you will have to repeat step 1.

And finaly, I can still hear my gaming computer if my streaming computer is OFF.

Hey man, happy to try help, sounds like you have everything setup correct. First thing I’d say is are you sure the cable from the GOXLR to mic in on the gaming pc works? Has it been tested / used before? When you open up windows sound setting does the mic meter move when you talk or nothing?
You know the cable from gaming pc to GOXLR is working otherwise you wouldn’t hear game sound. Try swapping the cables and see what happens.
I had a discord update the other day and when I got on discord today I have no chat sound coming from output divide "chat". But yet if I switch my output to "music" "game" "system" or "sample" I have chat coming though?
Double check your routing table in GOXLR app has chat ticked for headphones

@@Defect_VR that’s very strange I’ve never seen that problem before. You could maybe test the chat output for Spotify to confirm if it’s the output that’s causing the issue. If so then maybe update / reinstall the GOXLR app
@@BenKaluza changing Spotify to the chat channel, I have music playing through it I'll try reinstalling the app.
@@Defect_VR yeah that’s weird, sounds like it might be discord. You should be able to test discord by testing your mic in the settings and seeing if it plays through the audio channel in obs. I show me doing this in the video.
I've been fighting with mine for a week now lol I have the logitech wireless pro x headset and it's a nightmare to set this up. I've gotten the audios working for the most part but can't get sound alerts through headset any clue on how to do this?
For what specific sound alerts?
@@BenKaluza Soundalerts from like chat redeeming channel points or using bits. Its a browser source in obs. But I can only figure out how to get it to either play on stream or just my headset
@@peteharris8680 have you tried turning on audio monitoring when you right click the audio channel under advance audio properties ? This will playback the audio in your headphones that is played on stream.

How can you mute game chat and while talking to stream?
You need to download voicemeter and use it to split your mic input to two virtual inputs. You then send one to OBS and one to game. You can then use voicemeter to mute game mic but not stream. This video shows how to do this: ua-cam.com/video/R9dQIiFDVOk/v-deo.html
