Thanks for your excellent guide. I finally decided to get a GoXLR Mini, after running my MV7 over USB for the past 2 years. Out of the box, the sound was awful with the GoXLR, and I was baffled by the software settings (I'm not an audio guy). Thankfully, I found your guide, and it's all running great now. So many thanks for the settings and helpful explanation throughout.
I have been waiting for this exact set up video for months and you blessed me on the day I start my new work from home job. These are game changing and I also can't wait to stream with them.
Thank you! This is my first time using an XLR. I decided to switch from the micro USB because it broke. I was annoyed, but now I'm happy it did. The recording is so much better; I can't wait to record my next video this weekend.
@@Snerra01 if your connecting through a xlr to usb cable it's not gonna sound good cuz u have nothing to convert the analogue input in the mic to digital (what a mixer or interface would do)
I really like the style and tone of your explanation of the product~ It makes me feel more cordial~ Please keep it up~ I will continue to pay attention and support!!
Nice, it's an awesome setup. That being said, at this point, I think you'll be happier with the MV7 & Streamdeck Plus. Worth checking out! currentprice.io/streamdeckplus
Hey man, which mixer do you recommend more for the MV7 between this one and the Yamaha MG10XU? I plan to do streaming and individual podcasting, so the number of entries is quite irrelevant.
Def, Doing this when I get home, streamed last night with the new go xlr and I feel I was not sounding prefect on the recorded video. Thanks for the tips
Theres a hiss in the background the entire video and I can hear your jacket. Please explain how these are the best settings? Edit: NVM thats the Lavalier
I hope you see my comment and respond to me because I really need some assistance from someone who has had experience with the Shure MV7. So my question is, when the Shure MV7 is in XLR mode, can you use the slider thats on the mic? Or is the slider functions only for usb mode? Thx!
Where do you have the mic fader set when doing this setup? I'm wondering how to get good sound from the same setup. I feel like I'm constantly messing with the fader which is then throwing off how I sound.
Hello, I don't know much about audio, someone help me configure my Shure Motiv (MV7-K) with a GoXLR Mini in obs to get the most out of my microphone and my interface
Problem for me is I can’t even get into the good area of the meter on mic setup unless I max out the gain in xlr and even if I add a cloudlifter then I sit at about 50 gain still but can no longer use dynamic cause it only gets sound off condenser settings. This is with it close to me probly closer than in this video. And it enhances the natural whistle sounds on s syllables if I have the gain up to where it’s a good range. Really dunno with this mic anymore I think my voice may not be a good fit or something. Tried following this video to a T but I barely get 1-2 bars of volume showing if I set the gain and only have it plugged into the mini like you had done in the video. Any recommendations or ideas? Volume is turned up in windows as well it’s set to 100 I know I had that issue once with an old mic that would default to 50% for some reason
Hey, i connected my Headset to the GoXLR and then connected my mic with an xlr cable to the goXLR mini. But my ShureMV7 wont light up or power on. What am i doing wrong?
It won't light up or "power on" because it doesn't need lights/power if you're in XLR mode. All of that gets bypassed and it functions like a regular non-usb microphone.
Here after seeing “ rode podmic & go xlr best settings “ from your channel as well and… … NOW I CAN’T MAKE UP MY MIND if I should go with rode podmic or the shure mv7 + go xlr ? ! 🤦🏻♂️😐🤷🏻♂️ Help please ! Thanks brother! 🙏🏻
Great tutorial thank you! I just purchased a Rode PSA1, MV7 and a GOXLR Mini, so will be putting these all together, I am hoping there's an XLR cable included with the MV7? Also I have seen some suggestions that the SM7B filter is a good swap in replacement, but it appears to be slightly too narrow and looks odd, is that the solution you'd suggest or is there another way to go? Oh finally, how high is the main gain set on the GOXLR for this? All the way to 72DB or slightly lower?
@@kettnercreative Thanks. Wasn’t sure if you were monitoring from the PC or the mixer. Safe to say they can remain plugged into the mixer while gaming or streaming?
Amazing Video! I love the way you explain Things. I just have a big question now : after watching Ur Video with the 250 ohm Headset with the mv7, is there any way to hear yourself with the mv7 (plugging my headphones to the mv7 Headset connection) yet still having my headset somehow plugged in, in a AMP for better Sound? Main thing behind this is : i wanna hear myself talking, which is why i plugged my Headset into the mv7, yet i want to plug my Headset into an AMP for better Sound quality. Is there a way for both? Thanks so much, Ur tutorials are amazing, please continue!! ❤️ PS: Im using the mv7 with USB.

How did he power the mic ?
Hiii Jordan, quick question its driving me insane!!!! do you know how to remove completely at 0 % the mic monitoring on the goxlr mini app?
you go to routing and check off the headphones. I think you might have to do it every time you start up the comp
