Finally someone who sands between coats!!! This is the only way to get a high end look using a roller. Just one suggestion u might consider… add another coat (or two) of clear for protection. U can use wax or any water based products. Gr8 job. Cheers !!😊

Great tip! The Sherwin William paint I used is meant to be used without a top coat. Its been almost 18 months since I painted and the cabinets are still looking great - no scratches or dents.

Use a sprayer, but if you use a roller or paint, add Floetrol.

Getting things like doors and hinges and door pulls aligned looks easy until you try doing it, then you realize how many challenges there are. Lots of great tips here on tackling those alignment issues.
She didn’t patch the original screw holes she wouldn’t have had alignment problems

excellent video, great techniques, very helpful. just one observation concerning hanging the kitchen doors as I have struggled with this, keeping the door supported while securing it to the cabinet. Another video I saw the guy actually installed the hinges to the cabinet first, before hanging the doors onto the fixed hinges.. it looked like it might be easier but I guess either way is good as long as it works!

I love your cabinets.
I had old ugly flat laminate doors. I had painted them white 5 years ago but used the wrong roller brush so they were bumpy. Recently I sanded them smooth and glued 2 1/4 wide mdf to all sides at the edges. I painted them flat and now have shaker doors 🤗👍🥳
I am not finding 2 1/4 inch molding at Home Depot or Lowes. Where did you get it?
@@brookec5188 The moulding comes in panels 2 ft. X 4 ft. And I cut the slats to the narrow strips.

Some very intelligent and professional tips here. Thank you. I am thinking of redoing our kitchen cabinets. They are solid wood so no need to replace them. Just need wood filler, paint, new hinges. What do you think of the hinges you installed? We had them in our old house and they always getting out of square and needing adjustments. I'm tempted to just go with something as basic as possible, whatever that is. Thoughts?

Great Video Anika. Youve just given me hope for my old style kitchen cabinets. May I ask how much the doors and door fronts costed you in $$? I know this video is about a year old. And you also partnered with them. Also on the Nieu website, the cabinets seem to come painted. Did you have to paint them again once they arrived to match the paint color of the boxes?

Yes, this changes the game. We were preparing to paint over our outdated cathedral cabinets, but this is an affordable alternative to get a new door style too!
