Looking at the recipe from the book @ 3:45 I think she meant to say a teaspoon of ground coriander not cumin
The sound of a gently simmering soup is music to my ears! What a comforting and pretty meal. Thanks for the recipe!
This is my must make recipe, my kind of food, thank you for the inspiration, you make it so simple to follow,
Hello Chetna- your page came up for me two days ago, and I will say, its the BEST surprise thus far!! I love how humble you are and how you bubble with excitement with your cooking and recipes. You now have a new follower!!
Thanks for the inspiration! I followed along to the extent I could and made deviations when necessary. Still was super delicious. Thank you!!

This looks absolutely scrumptious! Can’t wait to try it
Just had this for dinner and it was so yum! I added a little chaat masala on top and that added a little more edge to the dish.
Chetna, you’re really expanding my vegetarian repertoire! Nothing I make tastes like my mom’s Indian dishes, but with your recipes, I’m creating my own type of Indian cooking.
For anyone who doesn’t cook in a British kitchen with scales to measure the lentils I used 11/4 cups and it worked out great. Delicious recipe.
Cold weather has arrived, so this is a must try.
I finally tried this today and I have to say it was absolutely DELICIOUS! 😋
Another delicious soup - the coriander/cilantro dressing is great on it too - thank you:!
That looks absolutely lovely I’m gonna try that next week
Hi Chetna I love the comforting way you cook. But I am not one who colors inside the lines so I am riffing on this recipe with kale for spinach, medium cut bulgar for chickpeas, and yellow dal for pink lentils. But I am gonna hit that coriander tahini goodness exactly the way you showed. You're a blessing, keep the lovely food coming!!
Looks delicious Chetna Thankyou I love soup!
Love, love love your recipes and wondering if your recipe books are available in stores in USA?
Just watching you comforts me,thank you 👍👍😘
Very tasty recipe ❤️
Aaaa beautiful Chetna x Thankyou so so much ( beautiful) brilliant for diabetic patients 😗😗
Fun fact : I love when you plate your dishes 😂 and this soup looks 🤤🤤🤤
Love Chetna’s videos! I always want to be there to pass her a bigger chopping board 😆 She fits so much into that small one!
Made this last night and it was divine!! So delicious. Perfect comfort food during our lockdown (France).
Wonderful!
I loooooove this recipe ! Thank you 🙏
Yes Chetna!
Ich liebe deine art und weise ,wie du kochst das ganze rüberbringst ,einfach alles ist super 👍wäre schön wenn es auch in deutsch ist
Lovely recipe 👌🏻 Greetings from Scotland ♥️
Does sound delicious will try it
i use oat cream instead and its amazing
Very similar to your recipe for red lentil, chickpea and spinach soup that I make all the time and fabulous!
@maroxa101 No I do not have any and not so easy to get.
I love your recipes, thank you
I love the explosion of oil that accompanies the addition of the curry leaves in the beginning, in so many of your dishes. It’s funny, as I learn more about Indian cooking I’m getting that this is normal but any times that’s happened to me I’ve been so squeamish 😂.
Looks so yummy, I just made your chickpea curry x
oh my this ooks amazing
Thank you for sharing this lovely recipe. I enjoy watching your videos and appreciate your positivity. I have been looking for more gut healthy recipes that use pulses and yours have been great. have tried your other recipes like aloo gohbi and coconut chickpeas with spinach curry. I will try this one for sure.
hope you will enjoy it
Been meaning to say"thank you" and so happy to find your channel a few months back. I enjoyed your appearance on British Baking Show and found your creativity and art of cooking there very refreshing. So am happy to subscribe and check in throughout the weeks for new ideas and to see that all is well with you. Keep up the good work and I especially enjoyed seeing you cooking with your Mum and your camera person - daughter. Sweet. Thanks again. Marjorie from Georgia US.
Tell us about your pink pot. It looks like a combination of a wok and a sauté pan
The cookware is available on www.haufson.com or search keyword "haufson" on Amazon or eBay
Love your cooking Chetna…so glad I found your channel..I’m working my way through all your videos😄…
One question please..would you ever use frozen vegetables eg spinach or cauliflower ? Thank you so much.
Other than peas I don’t really use frozen veg
Do you always use a wok for your Indian cooking?
So great to see your video today!
Inspired now to put a pot of soup on, shortly.
I can't easily find fresh curry leaves in my community at this time. Just how much flavor do they actually add, if I may ask?
Thanks in advance
They add quite a bit of flavor but it's fine in dal when you dont add it. It's not necessary.
Dried curry leaves can be bought online through Amazon and various other companies. Dried leaves are said to impart more flavour than fresh ones. I always keep some in stock because they last a long time and add a deliciousness to many dhalls(lentils) & curry dshes.
Can we use any other lentil like tuvar or moong
Can we use curry powder instead of curry leaves? I can't find curry leaves at my local supermarkets.
Can we use any other lentils than red ?
Amazing recipe, as usual, but could you please tell me if the lentil is cooked when you add? and do they have skin?, because they seem as if don't have skin.
Red lentils only need to be rinsed before cooking - these were raw when added, and were cooked after 10min. They are sold in packages after a process which removes the husk and skin. Canned chickpeas also have the skin removed.
How long should the lentils be soaked in water before cooking?
Hi Chetna, we're looking to get a set of new nonstick pans and we are wondering whether you could share what kind you use as they look great. Thank you!
Check out this weeks recipe, all details then
The cookware is available on www.haufson.com or search keyword "haufson" on Amazon or eBay
@@haufsoncookware9625 Do you sell via retail in the US anywhere? Want to buy some pans but the shipping was so much to the states.
Can I add more garlic
🌹😋
waaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh !!!
Are the red lentils precooked when you add them or are they uncooked?
Uncooked. But red lentils cook the fastest.
Looks delicious but I would not use coconut milk/fat/yogurt as coconut is high in saturated fat.
Could you just please tell me how many grams of lentils you used? Thank you ❣
200g
Chetna, I think [ 1:26 ] the handle of your much-envied skillet might be coming a bit loose and need some screwdriver TLC.
A tin of chickpeas is total contents weight 400g but only around 250g drained-about what you get by cooking 135g dried chickpeas (if anyone, like me, likes using dried). Recipe looks great, must try.
I haven't been able to find a curry plant anywhere! I wonder if it's difficult to grow them from seed.
@maroxa101 I asked at my local farmers' market and apparently they did have some curry plants for sale in the spring! So I'll keep my eyes open for them next year (I'm in Canada)!
I was wondering has anyone tried freezing this soup and how did it turn out?
You can always try freezing a small amount
"natural" yogurt 😉 . I'm sure unsweetened almond or soy or cashew or oat yogurt would be delicious, too. I love the idea of the dressing.
Anyone know the brand of the pan she’s making it in?
The cookware is available on www.haufson.com or search keyword "haufson" on Amazon or eBay
@@haufsoncookware9625 wish shipping to the USA wasn't so much 😢
Gorgeous mmmm
😋
What do you bloody nice if you could just put the recipe down so I have to keep on Rewatching it to get all the ingredients. Have you been going on your bloody website and I can’t find the damn recipe. Crap
