2 handing twin blade has a unique playstyle where you can push hard into the enemy and alternate between blocking and light attack and just kind of.... roll around the enemy in a way that looks like you are dancing... I don't know how to describe it better than that, but it's really a unique feel to the in close combat movement
I think I get what you try to say. I really like twinblade moveset both 2 hands and dual wield. @@Corion2121 yeah bleed is almost always the strongest option, slap seppuku on an occult infused weapon and you have yourselves a boss melter, but bleed is kinda boring and gets old when everyone uses it, and can sometimes be a little too strong for my liking.

Dual Godskin Peelers (if you have a friend drop you one or NG+) would get you even higher Bleed Build-up, but frankly, Eleonora's fire damage makes it extremely versatile in buffing its raw damage (fire scorpion, flame, grant me strength, golden vow, flame cracked tear) plus the Blood dance Ash does so much stance damage to enemies.

I really think we should get a Quarterstaff "Twinblade" as another naturally Dexterity scaling Strike weapon. Natural scaling of a certain type matters if you want to, for example, make a weapon have Cold affinity without heavy investment into Intelligence.
Speaking of Eleonora's Poleblade, you can keep your Dex and Str stats just to meet the weapon requirements (21 & 12) and use all your points in Arcane. Instead of 50/50 dex/arc, with 21/79 you get almost the same AR but the Blood Loss buildup is much higher.
How is seppuku godskin peeler vs Eleonoras poleblade? I'm in NG+ and just collected a second of all these twin blades. I wanna know which twin set would be worth upgrading. I'm at 50 Arc 40 faith 21 dex
My first playthrough I was doing mostly a strength build and I used the Gargoyle's Twinblade with Seppuku paired with Twinned Knight Swords with cold affinity. Even in my NG+ playthroughs, if I'm having trouble using a new setup on a boss, my goto is dual-wielding twinblades and trying to land as many jump attacks as I can.

I'm currently powerstancing twinblades, with the standard Twinblade with Ice Spear ash in my right hand and Eleonora's Pole Blade in my off hand, and I find it very fun. This lets me build both Frost and Bleed effects, while the flame of the Pole Blade resets the Frost so I can proc it again. Besides the jumping L1, I also really like the running L1 attack.

Gargoyle's Twinblades has GREAT Strength scaling while blood infused, at 40str/40 arc it gets over 500 AR and 125 bleed buildup, bleeds higher than Eleonara's and the damage isnt split AND it can use Sepukku. I've been using it on a guard counter build and it wrecks, changing to 2 hand for enemies I can't/don't wanna block gives a nice changeup in moveset. I ran Eleanora in one hand and an ice knights twinblade in the other. The jump attack talisman and armor turned me into a Cuisinart - while the fire, ice, and blood procs proved to be a blast.
You can get the Knights Twin Blade early in the game. Just grab the two dectus medallions, and you can access Atlas Plateau without having to fight anything. You'll have to dodge some tough enemies but the twin blade is just lying next to a fire in the middle of a small windmill village. You can also /try/ to grab the godskin peeler if you really wanna try fighting that guy at low level.
Eleonora's poleblade is the most satisfying weapon to use for me. The ash of war feels so good to use, regular and heavy attacks feel very nice, and the aow does enough poise damage that it is easy to use against bleed resistant enemies too.
I use a Vigor, Strength and Endurance build with any strength scaling weapon I can find. I recently started using the Gargoyle Twin Blades so this was very helpful.
Eleonora's Twinblade can actually be accessed very quickly since you only need to defeat one boss (the two Iron Maiden Virgins OR the Magma Wyrm in the tunnel) depending which way you go and Yura's quest is on the path anyways. Same applies to Twinned Knight Swords since it's also in Altus. Either take the normal path up to Altus without the Dectus, or use the Iron Maiden in Raya Lucaria to end up in Volcano Manor. Both put you very close. You can use the Dectus Medallion to skip fighting a boss, but it would take some more time since you need to take a detour for the keys.

Power standing Gargoyle twinblade w/ a cold infusion on a str/int build. Has been working great through NG+ at level 175. Never realized it had the shortest range though!
@@calebhightower7485 mmm I’ve watched his videos. They’re very detailed but way too difficult to follow. I’ve seen maybe 8 videos and every one I had to rewind multiple times just to get/see the points he was making. He needs to learn how to up his presentation. But otherwise very smart videos.
If u can get someone to drop u a 2nd godskeen peeler with one ice and the other bleed the damage is absolutely crazy. Especially with all the talismans.
What talismans are you running. (Im new to the souls series) I've been dualing the same but BOTH with bleed. Are both bleed redundant? Also running Mask with feathered cape. Claw, rot wing, blood ex and a rotating 4th.
Im really hoping the next vid in this series is for straight swords. They are my main and I would like to have the most specific info for them, like what the best infusions are for them.
The poleblade is the only twin blade I have been unable to find, other than that it’s lookin pretty good. I use godskin peeler with blood loss buildup, the fully upgraded version can stagger most enemies in the game even into the late game. It’s nice and versatile
Used the Dragon Burnt Twinblades from pretty early on until if managed to kill Eleanora for her weapon. Dual weild is great and for some magic I put the phalanx Ash of War on the normal Twinblade. It's the best experience I've had playing a Soulsborne game.
Hey Fextralife great videos, your team is amazing and I hope you're having much fun creating these. Just wanted to mention the gargoyles twinblade portion has an editing error where it shows the map for the godskin peeler location when mentioning the ashes it can be infused with. Just wanted to let you know since I didn't seemed to see a comment mentioning it, my bad if that wasn't the case.
Eleanore's Poleblade (main) + Twinned Knight Swords (Blood Infusion w/ Seppuku AoW, off-hand) is easy mode for all bosses on NG+2. Jump+L1 is a BLEED/Stagger machine. With all the Bleed-boosting talismans and White Mask, it's super-easy to drain bosses' bars under a minute.
I like twin blades, I played all my playthrough with a single one handed sword, then I realized that I could be playing with two blades in one hand With Eleonora's poleblade I also feel like Darth Maul. Great video!
For me, personally, a twinblade is designed to be dual wielded. I'm not a huge fan of the moveset while single wielding it (both visual and performance wise). I won't deny the appeal of turning your character into a Kaman Kmax while using one in both hands but even that is not enough to change my view on the matter. I like my twinblade to be twinblading (just my opinion. If you disagree with me, that's obviously fine). Also, I concur about Eleonora's poleblade being very strong and, in fact, I would go as far as advising to keep an eye on it in the future since River of blood had now been nerfed. Its ash of war requires a bit of getting used to, its behaviour feeling a bit chaotic at first, but once you understand how it works and how to space out to get the best out of it, it melts enemies and bosses' health bars like snow under a scorching sun (especially if you combine it with the usual, white mask, exultation, winged swords and other jar bro talisman...).
Thanks a lot for the detailed builds videos! I've been binging a bunch of them, along with the "Best Weapon" videos like this one hehe Did the changes from 1.0.7 affect the dual-wielding for twinblades as well? If so, would it be better to use the two-hand wielding mode for them?
Thanks for the video on twin blades they really are an amazing weapon it's a shame we don't have more. Maby in the DLC they will get the respect they deserve. Loved your video as always keep up the great work!
Cold infusion with Ice spear weapon on Godskin Peeler with Eleonora. Spam jump attack and weapon art for Eleonora. Bleed will proc, then ice. Backup is a small dagger or even fist weapon with fire infusion to debuff the freeze status and bloodhound step. Had trouble with Elden Beast and final Draconic Tree Sentinel and Crucible Knight. The shield means it has to be timed to counter and makes it hard to poise break.
I want a twin blade that’s just a Bo. Strike damage. Give it a unique parry too. Staff fighting is really cool and can be effective against swords because of the attack variation and joint manipulation.
If I'm confusing you with another UA-camr, I apologise. Do you think you could update this video with an Excel chart like you've done for other weapon types? (Best for Keen, Best for Blood, etc.) Interesting fact from my recent playthrough: a +20 Twinned Knight Swords has almost double the bleed build up as a +9 Eleanora's Poleblade. (103 instead of 62).
I absolutely loved duel wielding twin blades. Loved the attack speed in general, but especially jump attacks. For a fair portion of my first playthrough, that was my set up with EPB as my main weapon. My character is currently wielding the Guts Greatsword as primarily a STR build for a complete change of pace, but I intend to switch to Godskin Peeler down the road.
2 роки тому+2
When you are on str build, you really need to try the absolute fun and glory of heavy thrusting swords, esp. godskin stitcher... These weapons are so fun and universal, its perfect mix between fast weapons as they have very fast R1s and heavy weapons, because its R2s are phenomenal at counterpoking and staggering, and all R2 variants(running and jumping R2) have poise damage of "great weapons"). Also they have the best running R2 in history. Did I meantion they also have full damage shield poke and biggest guard counter modifier of all? Truly jack of all trades of weapons.
@ I'll definitely keep that in mind. Plenty of weapons I need to try. At the moment, had the urge to duel wield colossal weapons, and it turned out to be more fun than I expected. :)
You missed the main pro on elanoras poleblade, the fire damage that it deals resets the cooldown on blood loss buildup after it takes effect, meaning you can hit fast, build bleed, then when the enemy takes the percentage damage from bleed buildup the fire damage resets the debuff that stops it from happening again too quickly on normal bleed weapons, as taking fire damage is the only way to make the debuff dissapear without waiting for it to go, i think its like 30 seconds before another bleed damage buildup can take effect normally, but with this twinbade you can do it indefinately.
I used twinblade as my main weapon in Dark Souls 2 and luckily found the twinblade in Elden Ring quite early, but currently using the bloodhound fang +4 early game. Will definitely switch to twinblade later on
@Fextralife Can you also make a video showcasing all 165 bosses briefly? Almost as a list. I am trying to figure out if I have missed any, but the only way to do that is to sit through someone's 3+ hour video or go through the list on Fextralife. Both of which are quite lengthy and I lose track.
I thought the title meant that liking a weapon made it the best weapon in Elden Ring for you specifically. Actually, it still means that. Because I say so!
Something I just discovered that I don't think the video mentions: twinblades have a unique R2 and charged R2 on horseback. Some kind of spinning attack. I haven't tried it in combat yet, but if it hits multiple times you might be able to proc status effects pretty quickly.
I've recently been running an int/dex build. I swap between a few different aspects of the build using either the dark moon great sword, moonveil katana, helphels steeple, and wing of astel. However, no matter what weapon I use as my main weapon, I always have the cold twin blade with ice spear. It's fully upgraded and does about 636 damage but the ice spear ash of war does a ton of damage and, combined with Shard of Alexander, practically one shots most regular enemies and procs frostbite very quickly against the tanky enemies. I also will sometimes dial wield it with the godskin peeler with hoarfrost stomp and that's an awesome combo as well.
You can actually get the twinned knight blades super early game, like within an hour and a half. Just go straight for the dectus medallion halves first then you can actually go around stormveil castle by going straight off the pathway when it curves to the left, a little after the shack Rodrieka is in. There's a broken bridge, but if you go up to where it's broken, you can go to the left and there's a hidden path you can take to pass the castle.
You can also just speedrun fort haight and the other fort in caelid i forgot the name of to get the dectus medaljong parts. With them, just steal the glintstone key for Raya lucaria with or without killing smarag, then get to Raya lucaria, go through the entrance, go to the next glinstone key place and then go to the grand lift of dectus and there you go now you're at Atlus Plateau. it will be hard to get a lot of the twinblades unfortunately still, but it is possible If you are dedicated.
Ive noticed with Eleonoras Poleblade that the moveset can throw off some enemies AI (Blackknifes for example). Thats a consideration. With these types of aggressive and nimble opponents its gotten me out of some bad situations. Also the leap forward closes distance and the leap back can get you out of harms way. Doing my best Darth Maul impression against Alecto really shut her down.
Currently rocking the Godskin Peeler, because I wanted an elemental dex build and it seems to be the most powerful for my setup, the running R2 is great, the charged R2 is great as well, though I feel that the weapon's asymmetry is causing it to miss some attacks in the chain that should be hits... it's honest to god the best setup I had when trying Malenia (before I get bored and frustrated) out of all the builds I've done (holy/lightning with Winged Scythe, pure magic/caster with night comet, etc., shield strength build (this was the worst, because she just heals through blocking and doesn't rebuff off of even the Fingerprint Shield)). Got her to less than half health in Phase 2. However, it's weird how it sometimes staggers enemies and sometimes not at all. I feel Twinblades are an inconsistent weapon. But overall it's fun to use with Cold and just melt through most enemies, even the beefy knights.
I use the dragon seal with my poleblade and the R2 attack is just as effective if its one handed. I usually switch between the two depending on the fight itself

These are the best weapon guides!
Power standing Gargoyle twinblade w/ a cold infusion on a str/int build. Has been working great through NG+ at level 175. Never realized it had the shortest range though!
Thank you for the breakdown.
These are the best full breakdown videos.

@@billgreene6662 you can use 2 bleed weapons the more the better
@@billgreene6662 You can breeze through the entire game with this build, except for maybe the last couple of bosses
In the thumbnail how the hell you get the picture of twinblade euporia before the dlc were announce
It was originally cut content, you could find it in the game files
Im really hoping the next vid in this series is for straight swords. They are my main and I would like to have the most specific info for them, like what the best infusions are for them.
The ash of war on the godskin peeler black flame tornado is actually really good for racking up damage if you charge it
helped me beat Elden Beast.
Yeah I was surprised that this wasn’t mentioned. It basically trivializes any enemy that takes hit stun since it locks them in the attack
The poleblade is the only twin blade I have been unable to find, other than that it’s lookin pretty good. I use godskin peeler with blood loss buildup, the fully upgraded version can stagger most enemies in the game even into the late game. It’s nice and versatile
upgrades don’t make it deal more poise damage
Not sure if you're still looking but IIRC she's at the second Marika church at night
Used the Dragon Burnt Twinblades from pretty early on until if managed to kill Eleanora for her weapon. Dual weild is great and for some magic I put the phalanx Ash of War on the normal Twinblade. It's the best experience I've had playing a Soulsborne game.
Keen as for the torch video
Damn the outro hit hard bro, crazy music
Hey Fextralife great videos, your team is amazing and I hope you're having much fun creating these. Just wanted to mention the gargoyles twinblade portion has an editing error where it shows the map for the godskin peeler location when mentioning the ashes it can be infused with. Just wanted to let you know since I didn't seemed to see a comment mentioning it, my bad if that wasn't the case.
Also in the generic twinblade around 9:30 the > is swapped.
Eleanore's Poleblade (main) + Twinned Knight Swords (Blood Infusion w/ Seppuku AoW, off-hand) is easy mode for all bosses on NG+2. Jump+L1 is a BLEED/Stagger machine. With all the Bleed-boosting talismans and White Mask, it's super-easy to drain bosses' bars under a minute.
what's the jagged blade weapon in the middle of the thumbnail, none of the twinblades have that blade.. or is it just used for clickbait?
Maybe you could try making a dual Twinblades build that use cold and bleed effects
I like twin blades, I played all my playthrough with a single one handed sword, then I realized that I could be playing with two blades in one hand
With Eleonora's poleblade I also feel like Darth Maul. Great video!
I love this series, can’t wait for daggers
Regardless of the subject this guys video format is great. The information set up and execution is spot on.
Thank you for this! I really want to use a twin blade but i couldn't figure out the best set up for them! Great vid!!!
Very cool, I had thought about playing around with these as well, but have not as of yet. Thanks as usual, you madlad.
I haven’t played as much as I’d like but I started out as the wretch and been using twin blades.
right now i’m doing a dragon communion build, and i’m gonna try out eleonoras pole blade. it seems really good, and plus you look like darth maul
Godskin Peeler for the Win!
I'm so happy they brought these back, one of the best weapons from DS2
Lol I appreciate the title satire lol I was about to call you out on it lol
Thanks a lot for the detailed builds videos! I've been binging a bunch of them, along with the "Best Weapon" videos like this one hehe
Did the changes from 1.0.7 affect the dual-wielding for twinblades as well?
If so, would it be better to use the two-hand wielding mode for them?
X, L1, X, L1, X, L1, X, L1, X- Accidentally jumps off a cliff.
After Endgame I really love the idea of Twinblades
I love twin blades ! Specially looks and feels very cool when double handed
I wonder if these weapons pair well with the Thorny Cracked Tear 🤔
Can't wait till you guys do Bows!
First playthru was twinblade with ice spear skill. Gave it some range too. Super op
Yey im waiting for the Scythe video
Thanks for the video on twin blades they really are an amazing weapon it's a shame we don't have more. Maby in the DLC they will get the respect they deserve. Loved your video as always keep up the great work!
@Man of the Wasps I agree with the scythes but flails are just bad in general so many instead of more they could get reworked or buffed
What ash of war are you using at 09:37 to shoot the twinblade?
Yup... This video series is still awesome. Great companion to the builds series.
Can't wait for the collosals episodes! Woot!
There’s a euphoria in the thumbnail but this video was 2 years ago….
Fr I’m so confused
If I'm confusing you with another UA-camr, I apologise.
Do you think you could update this video with an Excel chart like you've done for other weapon types? (Best for Keen, Best for Blood, etc.)
Interesting fact from my recent playthrough: a +20 Twinned Knight Swords has almost double the bleed build up as a +9 Eleanora's Poleblade.
Can't wait for "daggers are op" video
I thought the title meant that liking a weapon made it the best weapon in Elden Ring for you specifically. Actually, it still means that. Because I say so!
Something I just discovered that I don't think the video mentions: twinblades have a unique R2 and charged R2 on horseback. Some kind of spinning attack. I haven't tried it in combat yet, but if it hits multiple times you might be able to proc status effects pretty quickly.
Eleanora’s poleblade 👌👌perfection
Thank you for this great video, wish war ash do you preffer for a twinblade? Thank you and greetings from Germany, wish you all best Fextralife
That would then break the natural progression system.
I used Twinned Knight Swords with bleed in combination with godskin peeler with ice to do jump attack strats, in one of my playthroughs. 👍
I am using the twin blade that is found early in the game. It's 10 lbs. I am using it with cold affinity and the ash of war Hoarfrost stomp. Thx!
