Not for me, I use the Quest 2 at night and don't want audio leaking out keeping people awake. This seems poorly thought out, I don't see any reason they couldn't have used a 3.5mm cable.
I don't mind having to use VD/Air Link, but not being able to use the Chorus with a battery strap plugged in is a huge deal-breaker. So you're absolutely getting under 2 hours for sure when using the Chorus, which will pass by very quickly because of VR.
This right here was the dealbreaker for me. I’ve been waiting for a hovering pair of headphones, but limiting my use time to under two hours makes this a pretty much useless product for me.
IMO I think this was a missed opportunity for Meta and Logitech. It only fits OG Quest 2 straps, battery doesn’t last long, no data and the pass thru issue. I think it’s too much for what it doesn’t do! Thanks for an honest review!
Thank you for watching! Tbh I'm not surprised it doesn't work with any third party straps - they want you to use their official products. I do think that 3rd party companies will catch up soon. BOBOVR already tweeted about working on a similar audio solution ;)
@@DiscoVRTetiana you’re very welcome! Love your channel! It doesn’t surprise me either but I would have thought they would have made accessories for other headstraps so they could sell more! I can’t wait to see what Bobovr comes up with!
@@DiscoVRTetiana That makes sense but what doesn't is making a product that does not work with your own product aka elite battery strap as you said you can't charge and use headphones at same time
Hopefully they can do an update to allow charging and using the speakers. As the product documentation lists that the USB-C is always available and you can watch movies all day with the power cable attached. While that is technically true it would be seriously deceptive and false information.
Thank you very much for a great review. Unfortunately, not being able to use an external battery or have pass through data, is a game breaker for me. What a shame.
i just bought a Bluetooth USB C transmitter so i can try and use ear Buds with no latency. hopefully it works well. I have a kiwi strap now and regular headphones are uncomfortable now.
Thanks as usual for that great review. Its too expensive for me and for something that I would not use if i’d nolonger use the Quest2. Too bad i was looking for that kind of thing because the sound quality isn’t good on quest 2
Wow, so glad you did this review. The headphones look good at first, and I have been considering adding headphones to my headset, but there are some issues with the design that wouldn’t work for me. For instance, I use an Anker charging dock and would have to remove them every time I put my headset into the charger. I have a Kiwi design strap, and not sure if they would fit onto it? And I also don’t want the sound of the headset in the room to be that loud. So sadly these won’t work for me. Otherwise the design does seem great, small and powerful and easy to use. I’m sure these would be a literal game changer for a lot of Quest users.
If you charge it from the wall instead of a PC connection does that allow the audio to come from the Chorus speakers instead of the built in speakers? The other option would be to use a USB C splitter cable.
Pass for me with that usb c only being charge only cause I use the BoboVR M2 headset with the battery pack on the back, not worth it for $100. Thanks for the review.
Haha amazing that they chose to use the USB port in such a ridiculous way when the unused aux port is right there next to it… even if it required a very short cable to be connected to the aux instead, I can imagine it would barely change the design while fixing almost all of the issues here
This seems to be a solution meant for users with the original elastic strap or the elite strap (wihtout the battery) and anybody who may feel that the built in battery is enough. Who is this for???
I already have the G Pro headphones, is the sound better or on par with this? The G Pro is harder to wear and it bothers me that the cup is not flushed to my ear because of the Elite Strap.
to be honest there wasn't any noticeable difference other than the fact that you can still hear the outside with Chorus, but the sound itself is very clear and loud. It's definitely much more convenient than G Pro for VR. But then again... G Pro can be used with anything, not just vR, . It's really a touch choice
I connected it to power, and as soon as I did I stopped hearing the audio coming from the headphones and it started coming from the Quest 2 speakers instead 👿
quest 2 is android based so using an otg adapter will let you use any pc audio headset - you can get an usb to usb-type c for like 3 bucks plug in your headset usb adapter
I can almost forgive no data and link, but not working when plugged in? That invalidates so many setups and limits you to the quests small battery. It even nullifies Meta's pro battery strap.
I wonder why they didn't use the headphone jack instead of usb-c. They must be drawing some power from the usb jack, so this probably is shortening your battery life a bit. I'm still a fan of the Dexluxe Audio Headstrap solution, it's got a good rigid headstrap and also gives you great sound.
You never used a Valve Index oder HP Reverb G2, right? The same Audio solution and it is really great. Yeah, it is too expensive. At that price I would expect it would work with the Link cable. The Idea is definitely nice, but that way it has some limitation that let it look overpriced.
I did enjoy the form factor and the audio quality, but knowing that I primarily use bobovr as my go-to head strap I don't think I'll be using it very often. Those who do use the official elite strap might really enjoy it, but doe $100 they definitely could add the data transfer solution
I was excited for these headphones, but not anymore. They should've been no more than $65, drain way too much battery, and others have called the sound a bit muddy. There has to be a better option than the Logitech earbuds that I have. A secure fitting bud or off-ear option would be ideal for me. Maybe they're will be something just in time for the Quest 3.
I heard that Project Cambria's controller will be compatible with the Quest 2 in/on another video over Project Cambria. I hope to god that that's true. Because I wand better controllers, and I won't be able to afford the full headset.
Great, informative review as always. For me with the BoboVR M2 it's a non-starter of course...but if it was compatible I don't think I'd get it becauseof the passthrough issues and I don't see much advantage over the built-in speakers which to me are perfectly fine...my preference to eliminate sounds for others is for quality earbuds straight into the audio port.
its a pass from me , good solution for those who dont have dedicated heaphones and the stock strap , i have the Logitech Pro Headphones same as you Tetiana, but im rocking the BoboVR M2 plus strap now after upgrading from my M2 PRo , BoboVR have said they are working on a Audio solution for their Headstraps so cant wait for that
I bought 10 euros in-ear with a tiny cable quest only earphones and it was around the time resident evil 7 vr mod came out its crystal clear and I remember hearing knocks and footsteps way above me and I thought it was someone in real life knocking my sealing. Great video if I didn't collect money for psvr 2 I would consider to order them
Woww what a deal breacker so glad i watched before buying, what was logitech even thinking dont they realise 99% of us are playing with a external power bank plugged in via usbc? I use the 10 hour powervr quest 2 battery when playing, was going to buy the logiteh chorus headphones but now i am not! Great vid 👍
Solid review. I like them, but other people hearing the audio is a deal breaker. I actually have some cheap over the ear headphones that do this too. 😳
Only works on meta elite headstrap! Didn't know logitech worked with facebook on this ehhh piece of plastic. No wonder we got no update on the bluetooth headphone connection bahahaha. Come on let us connect to the device with every bluetooth headphone. So we can decide ourself wich headphone (cheap, expensive) we could use. Come on facebook, even 10 years old android phones can do it, it's not rocketscience. So now we got a device wich if you would have it as comfy as possible with good audio cost as much a plain pcvr headset. Quest from 300 bucks to 400. If you buy 256 gb it's 500 bucks you need another facecover 50 bucks, you need an elitestrap with battery 150 bucks and now 100 bucks for sound. So you got the cheapest vr headset for 800 bucks bahahaha. Marketing is king these days. Bring a cheap 300 bucks vr device on the market to destroy the vr market. When the competition is dead rise the price 100 bucks and come with needed accessoires update to earn money on plastic parts bahahaha.
Now that you know everything there is to know about Logitech Chorus, do you think you will buy it when it becomes available?
Wait, will the chorus audio work with elite battery strap as its charging the HMD via Chorus’ USB passthrough?
Not for me, I use the Quest 2 at night and don't want audio leaking out keeping people awake. This seems poorly thought out, I don't see any reason they couldn't have used a 3.5mm cable.

Agreed! I can use Airlink, but to not have battery pass through power while using the headphones is completely inexcusable. Shame on you Logitech.
Making that USB-C port charge-only is a huge misstep, I think, especially for a $100 piece of kit.

I like that lava lamp on left :)
The biggest issue for me is you can't charge it whilst using those headphones since it cuts off the sound.
