This poor guy looked and acted badass but my god his death was awful. Didn’t last 5 minutes and achieved nothing. They didn’t even give him armour or a helmet or shield, poor guy. Still a very cool troll adaptation.
I like the troll in this series. I think it's creepy how he laughs mockingly at the elves who just mortally wounded him...haw haw hawing at his own death. It's well done, in my opinion. I'm thinking that Gil Galad's spear Aeglos also hastened the troll's death.

The problem with the RoP is that while the Hobbit is a trilogy that has too much bloat surrounding greatness, this one has too little greatness to carry itself. It is not terrible but people compare it to some of the best movies ever made and as a result, it is just not enough to be okish most of the time with some moments of awe in the mix. Aka: you can fix the hobbit with edits. You can not cut RoP into shape, not yet anyways. Still has a lot of good scenes, a shame they didn't turn it into a movie and did something different with their production, hard to tell exactly what but here's to hoping that they will eventually find their pace because believe it or not, if this show fails the lord of the rings property will get a LOT less interesting to many executives because they won't bother with the nuances and again, this show has many great moments, it just needs to be more consistent about them ( along with other stuff but a lack of consistency is arguably more important ).
I think I may have one. The trolls we see in the Jackson trilogy are mindless slaves under Sauron's influence, whereas this troll seems intelligent. Sauron wants to use them as war beasts, whereas Adar gives them free will, so I understand why Damrod is working with Adar.
1:19: This scene is not well understood, nor if seen on the platform of Amazon Prime. It seems that the blow of the orc ram’s war piece pierced the troll’s belly, although this is impossible considering the shape of the object that hit him. Perhaps he got a bruise not only from the blow but also from the burning caused by the flames surrounding the instrument. Anyway, the troll got hurt. Since you do not understand the slow of the wound, I think that a basin of Adar on the belly of the Troll is sufficient to make him pass his malaise....2:40... No, excuse me now you don’t need a kiss.
Haven't seen this series yet but just a reminder to everyone crying - Jackson turned half the fellowship into comic relief characters and the other half into a teenage boys idea of a badass and it was heavily criticized by Tolkien's children as well as online. But people forget and now it's one of the greatest trilogies of all time. People are over the top on this series because there's so much more exposure on the internet now and people just follow the bandwagon...
if only he was on their side. As for the battle. It served zero purpose as the orcs broke through anyway leaving the ELF's decimated. All those Elf's and horses killed and still the orcs get through.
I don't know man, there kind of was this cave troll some 20 years ago that looked just as good and had more personality and wit to it than this piece of fan fiction
For those who need the scene broken down even further: Damrod was slaughtering elves and orcs on his way to the wall. Then Damrod sweeps Elrond aside but gets his rib cage broken with the machine sprung and hit him hard He batters the wall, weakening it further and nearly breaks it. Gil Galad damaged Damrods leg with a hook Arondir runs and uses momentum, and throws him off balance enough that he falls over, taking advantage of the injured leg Arondir then pins one of his hands while Elrond stabs Damrod and Gil Galad delivers the killing blow It’s not complicated to follow, it makes sense, and Damrod DID do a lot of damage to the fighters and the wall
