Man i honestly prefer your videos over ALOT of guitar lesson videos here on youtube! Very well done plus your personality makes it enjoyable! Keep up the good work!
God man. I keep coming back to this video because it's so cool to see actual recognisable songs in reviews. I don't mind a bit of pedal noodling, but you get much more of a sense of the pedal's strengths in context with this kind of review.
thanks mate, much appreciated! I generally review stuff based on my experience of buying a pedal and then thinking errr no what should i play with it :-) Glad you enjoyed this one, lots more planned!
You've become like my favorite teacher on youtube, any time I try to learn a song you have the best lessons with play along tabs its great! Keep up the good stuff you're one of the real ones out here
You are by far the best teacher in youtube !! You always have the best bands selection and You focus on the tones and sounds of the best alternative bands which no other youtube teacher does. I love your content ! Amazing work
Thank you so much for this video, I love radiohead so much, and I taught myself to play guitar because of them. I haven’t entered the world of pedals and such yet since they’re expensive and daunting, but videos like this one really give me the motivation to practice and become better, and hopefully eventually buy and learn to use pedals! These riffs all sound amazing, just like jonny! :)
Ah thanks so much, really pleased you enjoyed the vid! Also worth noting that whilst this is a demo for a boss product you can get a lot of similar delay tones from more inexpensive ones if you’re just starting out 😊🤘
@Lili Martin With effects, I would say the best and cheapest way to start right now is through a DAW (garageband, ableton). Start with reverb and delay effects. But just play around with all the different ones and see if what you hear clicks with any music you listen to. You don't even need to buy the pedals to play around these days 🙂. My first pedal was a cheap multieffect box. That's another cost effective way to get into them. Have fun!
Beautiful demonstration. Im looking at getting a tape echo effect, so naturally im tempted to get one of these for the collection. Unfortunately most the demonstrations i have seen are just showboating solos with it, its nice to actually see how the effect works in terms of context of a song, especially with a band as ace as Radiohead!.
of course the one song I knew you had to try is the last one, Subterranean homesick alien is one of my favorite radiohead riffs, and I'm pretty sure the boss terra delay does that sound too
Dude I randomly came across your channel. I'm eager to learn the songs that you have posted as lessons because they are songs from when I began to really become a guitar player but never bothered to learn them at the time. So without watching more than 2 minutes of the 1st video I need to pay spending quite sometime with your lessons and on your channel. Thank you for your work. Here we go rock on brother!..-Corky aka "CORKELECTRIC music and more!"
Thanks Andy! I got the pedal for free with this one, but tbh I feel pretty honoured to work with Boss and the other companies in any capacity, it helps keep the lessons free for everyone. I do have a couple of rules tho, you'll only see anything on here that I'd buy myself and I always try to make the content interesting first, promo second. Hopefully I'm getting the balance right, so thanks for your kind words mate!
Fun video. Like the split shots of the two guitars. Would love a space echo pedal after stupidly selling my original re20 when it needed a little work in the 90s. Still... For the money, it's tough to beat to the Carbon Copy Deluxe.
I haven’t played the new GT series but they’re digital multi effects so you’d get a bunch of effects with those, however the Re2 is a very specific tape delay/reverb based on a classic studio effect that they’ve stuffed into a compact pedal so depends what you’re after 😀
Can you dial this effect on a ME80? Or how can one emulate this effect with other pedals… I have the me80 and other stomps but need direction to make it Happen
Awesome, I have a song request. You should teach how to play it’s only sex live by car seat headrest. They’ve been playing this song live and the main riff is so good, I wanna learn it so bad.
Wait a minute... the riff you play after the intro to planet telex, you call it "the main riff" suggesting it is the main riff of planet telex, but it is from bodysnatchers
The Re-2 is great for live stuff but I was sad to see they went the "clean and sterile" BBD route, unlike the EP-3 clone MXR did that allowed for dirt, wear and grit (which sounds killer in the studio). The RE-20 self oscillation is spot on though, love that! I made a quick video about theem here if interested: ua-cam.com/video/RFNa6cqx5ps/v-deo.html
I don't understand your comment. 1) This pedal doesn't contain a BBD, neither does the tape echo it's emulating. 2) BBD delays are anything but clean and sterile.
I just wanted this pedal for my synths. Now I learn Radiohead used similar devices for tons of songs. Granted I don't play guitar so it still doesn't affect me but I want it more now! ;)

Wow, thanks Davis, that's lovely of you to say! Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated!
100% fully agreed 👍

Radiohead is one of my top5 bands of all time. Great job mate!
Thanks Sergio! Hope you're well buddy!

Best explainer on this pedal I've seen so far. Cheers
Thanks so much!
Seriously one of the best UA-cam channels out there! Love this. Radiohead for life.
Ah you’re too kind brother! 😊🤘

The body snatchers riff is killer 🔥
Such a great track, need to do a lesson on that one 🤘
You have presented very nice pedals throughout your videos, and this is not an exception. Love it. :^)
Glad you enjoyed it mate!
No paro de decir que este definitivamente es el canal de música más increíble de YT 👌

Love radiohead, Love Pedals, Love Lamp, and Love the old Vision Street Wear logo homage. Just subscribed.
Hahaha I love lamp too! Great spot on the Vision Street Wear nod too, thanks for the sub 😀🤘
This pedal is an insane feat of engineering.
You make it look so effortless. 👍👍
Thanks mate, you didn't see me butcher 2+2=5 then 😂
@@LetsPlayAll 🤣🤣 butchering is something you don’t do…
Mate seriously my blooper reel would be massive haha
Brilliant video Matt
Thanks guys!
Love it. Good work.
Thanks mate!
So very good! Excellent work.
Thanks mate!
That was great with the coin. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Ugh it sounds so good I just wish pedals weren’t so expensive 😩 😭

This is great. Radiohead is my favorite band. First video I’ve seen of yours, but you got another subscriber.
Ah thanks so much mate and welcome! 😀🤘
Brilliant

I gotta know how you were tapping in dotted eighths with this? Cannot wrap my head around this lmao
brilliant! thanks for the great video
thanks Yaron, you're welcome!
One of the few channels where I could care less if it’s a paid promotion. Tops as always.

Ya know, I was skeptical of Planet Telex until you played it... now I shall be dialing that one in tonight
Have fun man!
Great demo ... kudos
Good video sounds great song playing guitar 🔥
Thanks a lot Peter!
Love this. Straight back in 1997 by the end.
Great lesson, thanks so much🤛👍👍
You’re welcome!
RH and space echo is OK with me.
Good to hear mate!
I see what you did there
spot on this, impressed :-)
Thanks mate that means a lot! 😀🤘
that blue nashvile tele may be the coolest guitar ive ever seen
thanks! had this sucker for years, great guitar
Sounds great
You tube got the best suggestion algorithm. 😆 👏 👏
haha enjoy mate!
I only saw the silent preview and knew it was airbag. ❤
😀🤘
what overdrive did you use for 1:53? it sounds killer!
Thanks mate, Boss Fz1W fuzz!
3:42 but what song is it?!?
Oh right, it's Identikit.
IT'S IDENTIKIT EVERYONE.
haha :-)
Tell me about that pink tele. I love the pickup sounds
Seth Baccus Shoreline T with Bare Knuckle Pickups Flat 50s mate 😀🤘
Sound lovely. I noticed Space Echo from Radiohead. So for me space echo = radiohead.
Very nice thanks 🙏
Subscribed. What is the blue Nashville Tele you used for 2+2=5? Its gorgeous!
Thanks Michael! It's a Fender US Tele Plus i've had since college :-)
Can you do a blind melon lesson?
Yes! This! No Rain - I cannot hear it enough. Please dress as a bumblebee for authenticity.
awesom,e video! what else did you use to get that lead guitar tone for the opening airbag riff?
thanks mate, just the Boss Blues Driver
Fun video. Like the split shots of the two guitars. Would love a space echo pedal after stupidly selling my original re20 when it needed a little work in the 90s.
Still... For the money, it's tough to beat to the Carbon Copy Deluxe.
Thanks mate!
Please tell me what type of tele’s you’re using in the intro! Beautiful colors
thanks! The Pink one is a Seth Baccus Shoreline T and the blue one is my oldest guitar, a US Tele Plus from the late 90s
Very cool runthrough of RH tunes! Do I get this pedal or keep considering the Boss GT series...
I haven’t played the new GT series but they’re digital multi effects so you’d get a bunch of effects with those, however the Re2 is a very specific tape delay/reverb based on a classic studio effect that they’ve stuffed into a compact pedal so depends what you’re after 😀
Merci j'adore !!!
Pas de probleme Erik 😀🤘
Very cool! How do you like this one compared to the new bigger pedal? I like that this is compact
Cheers, I haven’t tried the larger pedal format mate but both look cool haha 😊🤘
Excelent !!!!
Thanks!
Great review - where is the best place to put this on a pedal board (newbie question)
I’d always put reverb last so at the end of my chain, no wrong answer really but generally I put it last 🤘😊
@@LetsPlayAll thanks!
2:55 is this the same way David Gilmour played Echoes?
Do you mean the seagull noises? That was a happy accident with the guitar input going into the output of the wah and input out to the amp
@@LetsPlayAll no. If you listen to Echoes live at pompea, at the beginning of the music. Gilmour made a sound like I talked about.
Hi! What kind of distortion are you using for airbag please?
Hiya! Pretty sure I used the boss blues driver for that one 😀🤘
Could the space echo replace my delay and verb pedals in one
depends what features you like out of your delay and reverbs tbh mate
Can you dial this effect on a ME80? Or how can one emulate this effect with other pedals… I have the me80 and other stomps but need direction to make it Happen
Not familiar with that FX unit I’m afraid mate
Thanks the sender is nope but got myself a RV500 and it has space echo so I’m set! Cheers
isn’t planet telex
Emaj Amaj E7 Am
I shall double check!
what's the song at 1:57?
Bodysnatchers :-)
@@LetsPlayAll thanks! i'll be deleting the comment. love your approach to teaching btw. waiting for ukulele tutorials. have a nice day!
@@epluracas_orega fine to leave the comment mate it’s all good engagement 😊🤘Oo yes need to do a Uke lesson soon
It appears you’ve been blessed by the UA-cam algo to be trending out and around. Well done-what fuzz are you using for Bodysnatchers?
Haha glad you found the vid! Fuzz used is the Boss FZ1w 😀🤘
The in planet telex the 3rd chord should have been a major chord. You played a minor chord there.
I’ll double check it sounded minor to me 🤘
Quite a few Radiohead guitar tutorials on YT don’t nail the tone properly, but you’re just about there my man 😉👍 long live Radiohead 🤗
Thanks very much!
What amp are you using?
Victory V40 tube amp
@@LetsPlayAll thanks!
@@the5chord you’re welcome!
Is that an NHC t shirt? so rad
Certainly is mate, I bought one a while back ❤️🤘
Awesome, I have a song request. You should teach how to play it’s only sex live by car seat headrest. They’ve been playing this song live and the main riff is so good, I wanna learn it so bad.
Lovely to see Taylor Hawkins band t shirt
Thanks mate, great band. Love this tee, still saddens me but serves as inspiration. NHC lesson coming next month too!
Nu-X Tape core!!
👍🏿🤘
Wait a minute... the riff you play after the intro to planet telex, you call it "the main riff" suggesting it is the main riff of planet telex, but it is from bodysnatchers
If you wind back a bit from the riff I do state body snatchers uses a slap back type delay before saying the main riff 😊🤘
The Re-2 is great for live stuff but I was sad to see they went the "clean and sterile" BBD route, unlike the EP-3 clone MXR did that allowed for dirt, wear and grit (which sounds killer in the studio). Cool
sleeping in the first time 🤣🤣
I just wanted this pedal for my synths. Now I learn Radiohead used similar devices for tons of songs. Granted I don't play guitar so it still doesn't affect me but I want it more now! ;)
Haha yea they used it on a bunch of instruments which is pretty cool!
I think its time for a new Radiohead lesson!
I think you're right mate!
@@LetsPlayAll House of Cards it is, then! ;-)
not a great fan of his style tbh i still enjoyed this video though, as a player, i think it's healthy to study everything! cheers!
You never want to get a pedeal just to play someone else's music.
Horses for courses, but sometimes that's exactly what I like to do :-)
why cant anybody play these songs properly lol
It’s hard to replicate the work of a god
