All these songs you are discovering were played on the radio all the time! Yeah, even on a Tuesday afternoon! It was party music so we were probably partying with our friends. You barely had to look for these songs, just turn on your radio. There were entire stations dedicated to just Hard Rock. My city had a good one. The Programer/DJ was famous here in South TEXAS. He was really good at finding new bands and playing them before anyone had heard them. Even industry insiders didn’t know about some of them. He was one of the very first people in North America to play RUSH, JUDAS PREIST and a bunch of other bands. The bands noticed this and never forgot it. They toured here from day one and San Antonio got a reputation as a HUGE Rock city. RUSH loved us and said so. We are one of their favorite cities. Same with the other bands. That’s why I’ve seen an ungodly amount of concerts. It’s basically all I did in the 80’s. ✌️ By the way, I apologize for being a dick. ok? You’re a good guy.

I keep telling these reactors JUDAS PREIST: Riding On The Wind! One of their best songs by anyone’s standard! I think my first PREIST concert tour was Stained Class. Yeah, I go way the back with this band. Live 18 times over decades. I know a song or two. Ha Ha! I can sing most of their catalog! Not like ROB, I just know most of the lyrics. Had to clarify that. If I could do what ROB does, I wouldn’t be here commenting! I would be blasting in a bar somewhere!
Party song; YESSS Radio song, YESSS. This is the most commercial JP album ever IMO, but in 1980 when it was released, it was fantastic! I remember exactly where I was the first time I heard it, in a car with my buddies just cruising along listening to the album
It starts at 0 because it's metal AF. To answer the "what were you doing when listening?" Driving down the interstate, going way too dang fast. Also, generally just thrashing about and head banging. 🤣
When this album came out I was 16, there was no digital, there were no cell phones, there were 5 tv channels, mtv was a baby, no microwaves, no personal computers, no " i " anything, no cameras in everyone's pockets, no vcr, no dvd, But we had the birth of Metal, and it was good.
This is the perfect song to listen to in the car when speeding! Yes, I've broken laws, most of them traffic ones. LOL Most of them while listening to lit music too, no cap! You would LOVE the song You Got Another Thing Coming, you MUST check it out, OMG, so good!! Love this song x3 My first time listening to this I was looking at my dad's cassette tapes I thought it was blank so I just played it to see if there was anything on it. I fell in love with it and just took it.
Another one you can learn to play and sound good playing is "Living After Midnight" and I love that song!!! I was married and living on a dairy farm when I first started listening to Judas Priest, lol! But you can blame Beavis and Buttcrack from MTV because they loved "Breaking the Law"! And I loved to watch Beavis and Butthead! (It's really Butthead, not Buttcrack, but my friends dad recently called some guys Beavis and Buttcrack and it was funny :o)
You deserve the 100k subs. Good luck! Try "between the hammer and the anvil" by Judas Priest. Iced Earth is also an awesome metal band for future reference. Idc how many cans of bear spray jon schaffer showed up to the capitol with his band rocks!
Breaking the Law was the announcement of a new era for the heavy metal. Literally, because the song came in 1980. Judas Priest always breaking the rules
That’s what Hard Rock is. You aren’t the only reactor who says this. Get used to it. Rock doesn’t ease you into it, it blasts from the starting line like a Top Fuel Dragster. That’s what it is. There are even harsher, blasting songs that make this look tame.
What were we doing when this song was playing? In the car, skipping school, driving fast, on the way to the lake with a cooler of beer and maybe a joint. I was 15 when this came out.
Hey man, you've heard three out of four of the Big Four: Metallica, Megadeth, & Slayer! Now try the fourth - Anthrax! I'd start with Time off of The Persistence of Time album. It has a syncopated rhythm with a very crunchy riff. After that, I would try Bring the Noise; a song that was recorded with Public Enemy! After that, check out the classics!

The songs that established the artist! That’s the real band! And usually it’s their best music. Nobody fucking listens to me though. I’m just one guy. I’m a been there, done that guy! You guys keep saying how lit this stuff is and how you want to go to a good show. I’m THE GUY! I went to ALL this stuff and have listened to it for 45 years! Like I always say, I KNOW THIS SHIT! My opinion on this is valid! If I say a song is good, count on it! I fucking guarantee MY picks! I don’t fuck around when it comes to good music. Again, I know this stuff! I’ve even invited reactors to say whatever they want to about me on camera, on their channels and just slam me if what I say doesn’t hold up! I guarantee my picks! I DON’T recommend bad music EVER! Sweetie, when this ALBUM came out I had been up all night with some friends partying and we ended up at a guy friend of our house and he had just bought this album and we sat there and listened to it at about 4:00 or 5:00, 6:00 in the morning something like that. I don't need to say what we were up all night doing because it was the late '70s and I'm sure that you can use your imagination to figure it out.

Been watching your channel for some time now, and I'd like to suggest some rock/metal songs for you: Sabaton - For Whom The Bell Tolls (Original by Metallica, you've seen it before, but I think this one sounds way better) Ozzy Osborne - Not Going Away Aerosmith - Dream On Avenged Sevenfold - Shepard of Fire Rage Against The Machine - Killing in the Name Van Halen - I'm The One Korn - Coming Undone Scorpions - No One Like You Just tried to pick a somewhat diverse group of some of my favorites that I thought you'd like hearing (don't know if you've heard some of these before, sorry). And if you really wanna hear a guitar go crazy, check out Dragonforce - Through the Fire and Flames. Unless you already have lol
Jojo, check out Bring the Noise with Anthrax and Public Enemy for some serious rapping over metal. Long-haired white dudes shredding guitars and black dudes rapping (and Flava raps with Scott Ian, which is pretty awesome). The combo works as well as you think it would.
You check this band call billy talent, some of their songs like red flag, afraid of heights, reckless paradise, try honestly, devil midnight mass, reckless paradise
"Breaking The Law" was a single from Judas Priest's 1977 album, "British Steel", which coincided with the Punk Rock movement in British Rock music. If a band was going to be successful during that time period, they could not afford to be overly sophisticated or pretentious. They had to have a hard-edged sound, and "straight to the point" lyrics in their songs. Judas Priest met that criteria, with some good songwriting for that period of time in the genre of Heavy Metal music. Most Punk Rock records were not very long in duration. Any record longer than three and a half minutes was an unusually long one. Only during the 1980s did singles become 4 minutes or so in length. This was due to the decline of 45-RPM record sales, and the rise in the sale of cassette singles and CD singles.
@@RagingInsomniac I did some research, and found out that you were correct. According to Wikipedia, the "British Steel" album, and the "Breaking The Law" single both debuted in 1980. Thanks for setting me straight, the holiest sniper of them all. 🙂

Pick up yo guitar and learn this ... it's an easy track to play and so satisfying to nail it //// seriously Jojo , do it , you will surprise yourself how easy this is :) greetings from the UK ... Rock/Rap hard always bro :) Peace ☮☮☮👍👍👍
Why are we listening to this? We (metalheads) listen to songs like this because it is the genre that we enjoy. The "special occasion" for listening to music like this is that it is what we want to hear at that time ( whether if it is the main focus or just background music), and many of us find it relaxing to hear.
@LFR Jojo ..... another watcher... @Nigerian Prince419 .... made this suggestion, and I second his opinion.... if you want to learn an easy, but fun and not boring, Rock/Metal song as your first song....this is the one! You have a guitar.....but do you have an amplifier yet? How about a distortion pedal? Time to head over to Silver Spring, Md. and hit Chuck Levin's Washington music center. They'll hook you up with some decent beginner's gear for not a lot of coin. My suggestions? A small Line 6 practice amp, that has built in distortion, preferably one that has two channels...a clean and a "Dirty" one. A couple of guitar cables, some picks, and a couple of extra packs of strings...( Ernie Ball Super Slinky set, .042-.009 are nice and thin, not too hard on the fingers, and work great in standard tuning 440hz ) and a chromatic style tuner to ensure that you're in proper tune. For a couple of hundred bucks, it looks like you'd be all set to really start trying to learn how to play that thang! LOL. Also keep in mind...ANY song that you want to learn...there's most likely a full song tutorial right here on UA-cam...so you won't be jumping in blind. There's even tutorials on how to tune your guitar correctly. My suggestion for your next Judas Priest tune??? You can't go wrong with "You've Got Another Thing Coming"....it's a certified BANGER!!! And while you're at it.....( uh-oh..here comes my shameless channel self-plug..lol ) after you listen to the original, head over to my channel and check out my lead guitar cover of the same song...for comparative purposes of course, lol. As always...Peace and love from Baltimore, Md. U.S.A.

The shoes in the back tho and the essentials shirt my boy got drip on bro 🔥🔥🔥
Now you’re getting into it! I keep trying to tell reactors that listen to the one mainstream hit or power ballad that it isn’t the real band and to go back in their catalog to find out what made them popular in the first place! Not when it comes to Rock.
do slither by velvet revolver or wicked garden by stone temple Pilots!!!
He should do some soundgarden
@@017aqpqgqika9 Face Pollution, or Rusty Cage :)

You got another thing coming and Turbo Lover. Judas Priest.
Lol I love you!!!
LFR JOJO rockin' hard! Be careful listening to this while driving. #speedingticket
"U got another thing coming!" #1
WE HAD FUN BOY
SCREAMING FOR VENGEANCE and DEFENDERS OF THE FAITH are both bangers
British sssssteel was a great album., I got a Niji the year I could from Jacksonville fla to Athens Ga in 5hrs and 43 minutes
Awesome year, play the whole album
you should try listening to testament, they’re so underrated! try souls of black or practice what you preach by them
INTO THE PIT!!!!! ¡¡!!!
@@upi7485 DEFINITELY it’s one of my favorites!!!!
Can you recommend me some Testament's songs? :)
@@contrerasramirezemiliano3844 of course! practice what you preach, souls of black, into the pit, confusion fusion (if you like instrumentals) alone in the dark, trial by fire, and if you need more just let me know :)
Over the Wall
Jojo you should really do Vinnie Vincent Invasion Love Kills!!! You won’t regret it I promise!!!
You asked what I did back in the day listening to this song. I was driving way too fast in a Plymouth Roadrunner as a teenager, often times with the police trying to catch me. They never did. P.S. don't try that now. Their cars are faster now than back in the late '80s.
Been watching your channel for some time now, and I'd like to suggest some rock/metal songs for you:
Sabaton - For Whom The Bell Tolls (Original by Metallica, you've seen it before, but I think this one sounds way better)
Ozzy Osborne - Not Going Away
Aerosmith - Dream On
Avenged Sevenfold - Shepard of Fire
Rage Against The Machine - Killing in the Name
Van Halen - I'm The One
Korn - Coming Undone
Scorpions - No One Like You
Just tried to pick a somewhat diverse group of some of my favorites that I thought you'd like hearing (don't know if you've heard some of these before, sorry). And if you really wanna hear a guitar go crazy, check out Dragonforce - Through the Fire and Flames. Unless you already have lol
Oh yeah
This is also good riff for beginner guitarists
The Hellion/Electric Eye is a must listen.
Thought it was released in 1980 but alright
@@RagingInsomniac I did some research, and found out that you were correct. According to Wikipedia, the "British Steel" album, and the "Breaking The Law" single both debuted in 1980. Thanks for setting me straight, the holiest sniper of them all. 🙂
I started watching your vids because of your awesome and hilarious reactions to "Hearing songs for the first time" ~ Feels more like a review instead. ~ you can tell when someone is hearing or seeing something for the first time.. Please man! For the love of all that is great! Please stay on point, and actually show us some vids of you actually hearing them for the first time. Sincerely. (new subscriber and liker)
3cords & the truth! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I've seen them live. He comes on stage on a massive motorbike. X
Harley Davidson. I’ve seen him bullwhip that thing and kick it over more than once, seen em live 18 times!! Rob’s a NUT! Ha ha!
You are so funny. It was really popular, it got too much airplay. What was I doing when this came out? Probably listening to the radio...
You should listen to cut the cord by shinedown and ain’t no rest for the wicked by cage the elephant. I think you’ll like them.
Rest In Peace king von I listen to him
The first time I heard this song I was preparing to go to school in the morning while watching VH1 playing their music video
You don't want to know what I was doing when this came out.😄
Imagine hearing Public Enemy and Anthrax getting together to Bring tha Noize or Run DMC getting together with Aerosmith to Walk this Way oh wait....
Why are we listening to this? We (metalheads) listen to songs like this because it is the genre that we enjoy. The "special occasion" for listening to music like this is that it is what we want to hear at that time ( whether if it is the main focus or just background music), and many of us find it relaxing to hear.
Måneskin-Zitti E Buoni. By this song Måneskin won Eurovision 2021. I hope you will enjoy it 😁
@LFR Jojo ..... another watcher...
