Lemmy was the greatest. RIP legend.
RIP to Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor also
"The lead singer sounds like Triple H"
Interesting that you should mention that, Jojo
Motorhead actually did a couple of songs that Triple H used as his Entrance Music for WWE event, specifically "The Game" and "King Of Kings"
I was gonna mention the same thing.
They actually performed for one of his entrances at a wrestlemania
@@samuraishogun8395 i was there
Called “the game”
They did the entrance music for Evolution as well
Just as I said before: Motorhead didn't fuck around. They hit you fast, hit you hard. I bullshit, just rock n roll.
Everything louder than everything else.
Lemmy's bass tone is incredible. He truly sounds like no one else.
Les Claypool plays well as well
Thats because he played a Rickenbacker with a pick like it was a guitar and he played it through a guitar amp. Two Marshall's turned all the way to 11. I mean no disrespect though. I love his tone but that's why he sounded like no other.
The best bass tones are lemmy, cliff, and Les claypool
@@patmcdonald548 Les is not of this planet
People refer to the Rickenbacker bass sound as “clanking “ but there was only Lemmy and Chris Squire who could really make it work
Stood 5 feet from lemmy, eddie, and animal and watched them do it in one take....many times! 35 years later and it's still a killer song.
He was a roadie for Jimi Hendrix in the 60's. What a legend
Never knew that! Cool fact. Thanks bro!
When Lemmy had friends over to drink. He handed you a full bottle of Jack Daniels. Not the small one the big one. You didn't pass the bottle you were expected to drink the whole thing yourself.
"37 Stiches" Drowning Pool
Legendary st
@@harryjames3202 I would have been his best drinking mate. And probably dead by now.
Saw them in '82 opening for AC⚡DC. I was 16. They were so loud I got nauseous from the sheer volume alone but damn they tore it up! To be a kid again, especially during that time!
"Bro, you gotta walk me I to this. "
Lemmy: "Nope"
This IS bringing you into Motorhead gently! 4:08 That joke you were about to make is the case. To say these guys were 'party animals' is the equivalent to saying, 'The sun is a wee bit warm.'. Nor is it only the drummer on those things.
Saw this live. Was even faster. RIP Lemmy
Saw 'em live many times. They sounded . . . exactly . . . the same as the studio recording. RIP Lemmy.
No dude! They really do not need more than one take!! This band and the singer Lemmy Kilmister (RIP) are the OG and GOATs of metal!
“We are Motörhead and we play rock n' roll"
RIP Lenny miss that dude
Lemmy! A unique bass playing style. He plays a bass like a guitar.
Motorhead ♥️♥️♥️
day 9 of asking jojo to listen to “them bones” by alice in chains
u mind if i join u?
@@yannmelo9292 i don’t mind at all :)
Haha, they were all on speed, Lemmy for most of his life. In fact, he said he was sacked from his previous band "Hawkwind" due to drugtistic differences, He was into Speed and the rest of them were into Acid!
Up next on your list should be White Zombie. Start off with Thunder Kiss.
To quote Lemmy as they walk on stage... We are Motorhead, we play rock and roll, they hit you in the face with speed and power and played like that all show long...
They played this way live, JoJo... Just an awesome band!
LISTEN TO THE DOORS LIGHT MY FIRE
Saw them live in 1980, told my parents I was going to a school disco but went to a Motorhead gig, my ears were ringing for 3 days afterwards.
This is my most favorite song from any heavy metal band
Lemmy, Philthy and Fast Eddie - maybe the best line up, although i love the Welsh Wanker era as well 😅
I saw Motorhead years ago and they still sound and play just like the video but louder than any concert I have ever been to.
The song Motorhead was originally done by Hawkwind, written by Lemmy. Lemmy covered Enter Sandman
Funny that you bring up Triple H. They did his entrance music. Motorhead - The Game
That and the King of Kings
Remember this from Tony Hawk pro skater?
I was introduced to Motörhead with a cassette tape that was intended to be passed around to get people interested in their bands. A hard rock/ metal compilation. They did that back in the day because there was no internet. Lol. Song that was on it was “Cradle to the Grave”. I was hooked. Great song by the way! Lemmy basically gets his sound by playing bass chords and just turning his amp all the way up for real natural distortion! All the way up! You should check out some live footage from his best lineup which was his last lineup!
Motorhead was awesome! 🤘 Triple H's theme song was The Game by Motorhead! You should have seen them in Concert 99 times out of 100 they sounded this good! As Lemmy (lead singer) use to say when he was alive RIP Lemmy! "Who needs a lot of fans, Motorhead's will die for us!" Yes we would! Great job on noticing things on this song! Love your channel! ✌
Lemmy is one of the only rock musicians who, throughout his entire career never stopped using drugs or drinking, never went sober. Ever. It eventually killed him, but he never stopped. It's well documented that he just kept going and going with the drugs and alcohol. Wild guy.
Like... If you look at the wild stories of a lot of other rock bands, take GnR as an example, they did tons of drugs and drank pools of alcohol daily, but they're basically ALL sober now and don't do any of that anymore. Eric Clapton went to rehab for alcohol addiction too. Lots of rock musicians have stories of going sober when they realized it was killing them. Not Lemmy. Lemmy just kept going until the day he died.
yeah ... the funniest thing was ...
At a certain time you saw him in interviews always drinking Vodka with Orange because 40 years of daily consumption of Jack-Coke gave him diabetes... "Because its healthier - but im still the most drunk diabetic in the world". Will never forget that
Lemmy once said "We are so loud,if we moved in next door to you your lawn would die".
@@FreaKzero
And here was me thinking his only concession to age was starting to buy Jack in bulk as it was cheaper.………bulk buying, the classic older person move
Actualy, it is impresive with his lifestyle he died when he was 70, normal guy would die like 40 years old.
He died of prostate cancer. He just didn't go to doctors enough. Until it was point of no return. RIP Lemmy
I recommend Dead Horse and Bad Obsession, both by Guns N Roses.
As a rap fan he should review GnR the garden eden. Axl is faster than some rapper in that song
And note, you can hear every word he sings. Cool.
Love your reactions videos, waiting patiently for the rest of the ACDC reactions you said are being edited.
Loved you reaction! Im signed on.
Triple H was a big Motorhead fan and they wrote a song for his intro.
Saw Motörhead back in early nineties! Was about 10 feet away from Lemmy! Loudest concert I’ve been to! Lemmy said he would never come back here because our sound system sucked! He wanted everything louder and more bass! They couldn’t give it to him! My friend was screaming in my ear and I couldn’t understand anything he was trying to tell me! Amazing live! Couldn’t hear for a couple days but it was great! Lol!
It's me again. Another band you might like - In This Moment. And a track - Big Bad Wolf. I hope you don't mind an old guy like me dropping by. I'm bald as a rock but I still bang my head to the right track. And I still appreciate the music that burns my soul - whatever its genre. I like your channel and I appreciate the sense of the power of music that you display. Keep doing what you are doing.
Yet another brilliant British band
They were Motörhead,
they played rock‘n‘roll.
R.I.P.
You should listen to “Alive” by Pearl Jam. Has a sort of a sad meaning behind it. But it’s a great song
That. Whole. Album. One if the best if all time!!
Motörhead was a band that both Punks and Metal Heads loved !
Motörhead brings people together
🤘🏼
We’re Motörhead ! We play rock& roll!
Great reaction. He was partial to amphetamines, bands like this could perform like this every night. They would tour every little town in the country living out of a van. This was the most played track on a juke box in a pub I worked in years ago, it gets some people in the mood for mayhem.
Lenny place guitar in Hawkwind and wrote the song Motorhead before the band Motorhead was formed.
WOW!!! I like that You listened to Motorhead. Lemmy, the lead Singer passed away quite a few years ago. He was interesting and weird all rolled into one. He loved African American Women and had quite a few photos of Himself and the Beautiful African American Women He was involved in relationships with throughout his life.
He also, weirdly, collected Nazi memorabilia?!🤔
If I remember correctly from a friend of his documentary about Lemmy; said Lemmy in many photos wore a Nazi jacket too!
Well, Yes, he did have a deep and gravely voice. Anyway, I like how open- minded You always are JOJO. Thank You for doing this listening and commenting on Motörhead. You are a very cool Young Man. 😊👍🏼❤️👋🏼
Would it blow your mind that Lemmy (lead singer) was in a band called Hawkwind that played at Woodstock and was a roadie for Jimi Hendrix?
4:00 To answer your question what pi(ll)s he's been taking ... he's on "Speed" .
Motorhead is named after someone who takes speed - a speed head
1980. I was in my early 20s when this came out. With Motörhead, there is no easing into a song. It's balls to the wall from the first note.
Also all of Triple HHH entrance music is done by Motörhead. The Game, King Of Kings, Evolutions theme song.
Nirvana - Breed
You have to watch the Live at Paramount its the best Nirvana Song!!
Love the reactions. Good for you
Please check out Motörhead, “Ain’t No Nice Guy”.
Listen and react to Overkill by Motorhead or Orgasmatron.
or metallica
This where my first Motorhead number, fell in love right away still love the music ❤️
The band consists of only 3 band members, Lemmy” (bass and vocals) Phil (drummer) can’t remember name of guitar player
Guitarist was "Fast" Eddie Clarke
@@vinniedixon1140 thanks 👍🏻
seen them live 5 times !! thank God!! its so amazing dude!!
Motorhead - Overkill. Saw these guys multiple times. Met Lemme out back. Badass highlight of my life. RIP
I saw fastway in the early eighties in Biloxi Mississippi they had Metallica's League guitar player with him and the Bay City rollers came out with them did a heavy metal version of Saturday night. It was on f****** believable.
The song Motorhead was a song by Lemmy's previous band Hawkwind. When Lemmy formed his own band, he used the name of that song. So the song wasn't named after the band, the band was named after the song.
I saw them live MANY times - they were INTENSE! Jumping into the mosh pit during this one was a requirement.
Love the drummer-- dude is just kicking ass.
I'm banned from the old Musicland stores for life for trying to shoplift this tape. Haha!!!
True story!!!
In the late 80's my brother and I served a year in the Army. It was mandatory in my country back then and we were drafted six months apart. In those six months my brother bought freshly released Bon Jovi's "Slippery when wet" cassette. As soon as I got home, I traded it for an old "No sleep till Hammersmith" cassette that had a damage on "B" side from lots of usage. Never regretted.
Early into your dad's channel he reacted to this for me. And loved it. Welcome to the club
If you want bass tone, King’s X. dUG Pinnick. The song, “Dogman”. You’re welcome. 🤘🏽
I love your reactions during guitar solos
Glad to see that you've figured ou the difference between music and (c)rap.
Lemmy was a speed freak. Not just with music, with the drug. He was open about his long term use of amphetamines. He refused to give it up. He also had no filter. Younger bands used to idolize him, but if he didn't like their album, he would say "your music is shit."
MY BROTHER N I WERE AT THE VARIETY THEATRE IN CLEVELAND WHEN THEY BROUGHT THE CIELIING DOWN !
"We are MOTÖRHEAD and we play rock n roll"
Omg my fav motorhead song!! Good pick!
Ok I haven't gotten to scroll through all you've listened to yet so forgive me if you've done these
1. Sweet Child o Mine, guns & roses
2. The Dance, Garth Brooks
3. At Last, Etta James
Also, how are you with classic rap?
I'm guessing you've seen some, but I'm wondering about Sugar Hill Gang or some of the other cool stuff from when I was a kid...like...
1. Tricky, Run DMC
2. Bust a Move, Young MC
3. It Takes Two, Rob Bass
Motörhead was a huge inspiration for Lars (drummer), Kirk (lead guitar) and James (lead singer and rhythm guitar) of Metallica. I read that Lars said he was able to meet Motörhead as a teen and 6 months earlier he had met James, but nothing came of it. After meeting Motörhead, he called James up and said they needed to form a band, and the rest is history!
Just as there is music for calmer times, there must be music for exciting times. This is that music.
Lemmy, (lead singer) was friends with HHH and sang his into song
Jo jo I enjoy your channel I’m an old white lady but like all kinds of music. Of course I love the old rock and roll! Since you like the eagles I thought you might like Joe Walsh (the lead guitar player). Before he joined the Eagles he had his own band and I thought you should hear Rocky.Mountain High live version. Not too crazy about Motor Head a little too head banging for me! Thanks love all the memories I get!
Dream theater. Pull me under. Drummer is crazy
Metal doesn't ease you in, it attacks you and takes no prisoners !
Actually, Motörhead has played a song called Motorhead. Lemmy (the singer and bassist of Motörhead) wrote it when he was in a band called Hawkwind. He later named his own band after it.
And yes, Phil was an animal on the drums. Hence his nickname.
For your next Motörhead song, I suggest “You better swim”
Fun fact: It’s from Spongebob
I love that Motorhead, and even Dee Snider, did songs for spongebob. Cartoons just don't do that anymore.
@@hokutoshinken-chrisarmstro131 Yeah, they don't make them like they used to
The Triple H "The Game" intro in WWE is by Motorhead
Legends, all of them
Thats Motorhead and they played fucking Rock and Roll!
I don't know if you noticed but Lemmy sings head up into the mic almost to prove he doesn't have to look at his guitar to play the song. And Lemmy has a raspy voice even when not singing.
Enter Sandman is a Metallica song, the drummer Phil "filthy animal" Taylor was on methamphetamines (speed) like the rest of the band, also HHH is a huge Motorhead fan & got them to write his entrance music
Lemmy's cover of Sandman is epic
Lemmy looked like a terrifying Englishman who lived hard and died hard but interviews showed he was a gentle soul.
Day 2 of good mourning/Black Friday last rites…loved to deth
Man, Lemmy left us WAY too soon. Such a bad ass vocalist & bassist.
Yeah, this is a song that jumps out of the gate, full throttle from go! It was used in a movie called "Shoot 'em Up", with Clive Owen and Paul Giamati (spelling). Plot synopsis: random dude tries to stop a murder because he didn't want to feel like he just stood by and let it happen, and ends up stopping a government conspiracy. This song was used in an absolutely insane gunfight scene. The whole movie is a love letter to action movies. Paper thin plot, over the top violence, and just enough story to keep it interesting. Highly recommend it. And if you watch it, listen for these words, for they are usually followed by something awesome: "You know what I *hate?"*
One take. One band. That's British Metal my friend.
lol "gotta relax" ..the name of the band is Motorhead.
Motörhead is what happens when you take
Punk, Metal, a full bottle of whiskey a pack of smokes and some speed and a cup of gasoline
Mix in blender.
Do a reaction to "Nile - Papyrus containing the spell to preserve it´s possessor against attacks from he who is in the water", please. This blasts away anything!
Any Nile would be awesome. George on drums is the best!!
@@snakeli8880 Absolutely! But I do not think this will happen, I think it is way to extreme.
@@lordturbomose4982 Unfortunately. I would love to see a reaction to the change up in the song Those Whom the Gods Detest.
Motorhead was a song Lemmy recorded with his previous band Hawkwind. Hawkwind kicked Lemmy out and went for a more progrock rather than speed rock direction- so Lemmy took his name and concept along to the new band, "Motorhead" was a street name for a speed freak, the band was fueled on amphetemine and Jack Daniels. Check out The Pirates live at Dingwalls if you like this type of rock. ua-cam.com/video/4kWR5p4T4gA/v-deo.html
Total classic. He don't mess around.
Hey, remember this was groundbreaking in the late seventies early 80's
I once read this described as "three minutes of being beaten about the head and neck with a blunt instrument...In a good way"...
I can assure you, I worked with Hobsie (the engineer) and the band. They. Do. This.
You nailed it with that HHH comment. Lemmy did HHH's intro song.
FYI, Motorhead is a British slang term for a meth (speed) head so it kind of makes sense that the music is so fast.
All done in one take Jojo. I saw this band play live dozens of times during the early to mid 80's, and they were "LOUD" man. By the end of a gig you felt like you'd been caught up in an Air Raid. No wonder they have a track called 'Bomber'.........The singers voice comes from booze, cigarettes, and shall we say, a 'heavy' lifestyle! RIP Lemmy. (BTW, his dad was a 'clergyman' - so god only knows what he thought of it all?)
