      @@T1_Strong Personally I often just force myself to do long penultimate by finding good spot for throwing self lob. When the spot happens to be good, I am just forced to naturally do good penultimate because the distance matches.

      Yeah that's the thing that stands out the most to me too. I'm not an expert by any stretch, but I was a state high jumper as a youngster, and national level of a sport nobody knows about that requires a lot of hops (Australian Rules Football).
      Just in terms of biomechanics, it's hard to spring upwards without YOUR springs (legs) being coiled at least somewhat.
      It's just a smaller-scale version of the amount of force a deep squat jump generates versus jumping without bending your knees.
      You're very obviously intelligent, and you know your stuff in terms of biology and training. Use the same scientific approach for technique too!
      You're gonna dunk really soon mate.
      🏀💪

      @@T1_Strong I ran a half-marathon recently because I'm a weirdo.... and I heard a bunch of people who actually know about running talking about the new running "supershoes". Surely basketball sneakers will go the same way VERY quickly, right?
      Running "Supershoes" have carbon fibre plates embedded in ultralight hyper-responsive foam, and seem to be helping most runners shatter their personal best times.
      Seems like this will be an obvious next step for basketball shoes! Or maybe it's already happened and I'm behind the times??

      @@T1_Strong try landing with straighter legs don’t squat every time you fall back down and your knees will get tougher from that. If you can’t handle your own landing force you will have less strength to jump off your penultimate because you’re supposed to basically jump and land and jump again super fast after stopping your sideways momentum with a penultimate and translating the momentum to upwards momentum.

    Aside from fixing your penultimate step, that people already talked about (it needs to be longer), you should try to add a bit more of a curve to your run up, by adding the curve you make it easier to translate horizontal movement into vertical, as you are losing some of that momentum with your current approach
    That being said, awesome improvement, and I hope you manage to dunk soon (really think you already could if you fixed your form)

    When I was in college they had these shoes called strength shoes where the toes and ball of the foot were elevated such that the heel was off the ground. Even running the heel never touches the ground. I did my normal plyometric workouts with these. I would say I gained about 3-4” of vertical from those workouts. Not sure if those shoes still exist but I highly recommend them.

    You’re not exploding it enough, the way you swing your arms start from top to bottom then top. You need to start the swing from low then reach up. Also stop hopping into your jump, on the last step you hop for some reason

  • @safequeenking2884
    @safequeenking2884 5 місяців тому +1

    The last thrust forward to jump should be a longer distance. Your killing your momentum with the short step and bend your knees a little bit more when you jump. Thats what the other guy was saying about the penultimate step suggestion.

      @T1_Strong do it at jogging speed and then go a tad fast each time. You need to jump a quarter step further in distance. Focus on jumping from further. I bet that solves the issue 1st attempt. I'm 5'9 and used to be able to dunk here and there but hang time is mainly what I had. You achieve hangtime by sorta double pumping your reach as your approaching peek height. It gives you a boost of momentum upward.

    lots of input on your jumping technique in the comments. I want to help with your painful (sorry) script reading. and that's really the problem-- you're ether actively reading or reciting a few lines you memorized right before speaking them.
    I work behind the camera and have found I get much better results from people in front of the camera when we use scripts more like guides or prompts. what this looks like in practice: try having a conversation with the filmer. they ask questions that lead you to responses that align with the points you cover in your script. the goal is the only glance at the script to remind yourself of the points to cover, absolutely no reading.
    there will be an adjustment period where filming will take longer bc you'll need to do multiple takes to get things right. but after awhile you won't need the questions anymore, you'll film talking heads faster than you do now, and your camera presence will be lightyears better.
    hope you don't take my comment the wrong way. I'm writing from a place of positivity. I think your channel has a lot of potential

    • @T1_Strong
      @T1_Strong  26 днів тому

      For me I was consistently jumping slightly higher. If you’re super serious about jumping higher and you have the money I think you should give them a try. They might work they might not, but if they don’t for you then you can always return them within 90 days. I would only buy them if 1-2 inches added to your vertical would make you super happy, and realize some people actually jump lower in them. If you choose to buy them you can use my link in the description to get 20% off, but literally no pressure! Good luck with your grind either way bro!
