Something we noticed in high school was that people tended to max out at the rim because that became a visual target that seemed to limit us. Use a ladder and put a piece of tape a few inches up from the rim on the backboard and train until you can touch it consistently and then try to dunk.

Forget to dunk!!! if u dont have very long arms and a skill for jumping, say longjump, highjump and sprint 100 m for example, u will never ever dunk if u are so short, please !! leave it, do something else!!!!!
i was half-dreaming about it before but seeing what kind of gym training having even a shot at it takes, yea no. jump trainings and some exercises are cool but even 1 set of gym training bores me out of my mind. still, good science
@@kallemetsahalme5701 agree....i love basketball and good at it. I used to dunk in my prime relatively easily (5 9) but I could never randomly go out of my way to get in the weight room to train my legs or do specific jumps for hours. Id get way too bored. All the improves i made were from just playing tbh. Never understood people that could do full sessions of this.
The fact you're grabbing rim with improper form is impressive already. Fixing your form and developing a penultimate would most definitely help you get your first dunk in.

People can say what they want to, but when I was finally able to dunk in my junior year of high school, it changed the game for me . There is no shot that you can make that is more satisfying than a DUNK.
This video brought back great memories of my road to dunking. 39" at 5'6" is very impressive! I'm 5'10" and peaked at 36" vertical. Took me over a year of work to get there and dunk at 10" so your progress in only 60 days is amazing. Technique wise, I would suggest you bend your knees a bit more before the jump to drop your body lower. That will give your leg muscles more pushing time against the floor and give your more power off the ground.

I’ve very proud of it! 💯😂🙏👍✌️ it took me about 90 days of extreme diet and a fitness routine!
Dude, thy was AWESOME. I’m 6’3” and after doing plyometrics for a while, can sometimes make a dunk. Your video really proved to me that I really can work to win this game. The game of vert.
watching someone as your high, my goal was the same at the end of my senior year 09’ I told myself at least to touch the rim. Hope to see another video you have done it.
Good work man, I was a volleyball/ beach volleyball player as well as a basketball player. I was very comfortable jumping off 2 feet due to volleyball but when it comes to maximum height jumping off one foot gave me a few more inches. Once you learn to jump off one foot you will definitely raise your ceiling! You’ll get there! You may have to drop some of your muscle mass in order to get the hight you want. 5 pounds can make a huge difference. Respect. Keep it up!
Thanks for making this video, i'm 5'7" played in high school, and at my "prime" i could dunk (not in a real game though). Now that i'm "retired" i tell all my friend i used to be able to dunk but nobody believes me. you are going to be the living/recorded proof avg people like us can do it. We were old school, no new tech, our coach use to get us to do a lot of weighted squats and bunny hops up and down our school stairs, i trained hard one summer and was so happy the first time i could grab and hold on to the rim.
Even though you weren't able to do it, it's still impressive that you went from touching the backboard to hanging on the rim in two fucking months. Hope you're able to do it in the next few months. Well made vid and thanks for the inspiration (5'9 casual hooper), earned my sub.
Much respect to you for laying out your journey and showing your progress. I would recommend dunking on lower rims to get used to finishing the dunk. Start with 9’ then 9’6” then finish at 10. You got this man!
Yeah man I would definitely watch more jumping content. You've inspired me, I play basketball for fun but never care to work on my vertical. At 6'1 your first attempt would've smoked me 😂
damn!! I feel very inspired by you, not even just about dunking but about getting in shape and comeback to play ball again. Keep the good work dude, great video!
Bro I've been training my vertical and my goal is literally what you started at, since 30 inches is what I supposedly need to dunk. Starting at 30 inches is crazy, that's literally elite level.
Good work. I coached high school team for a while. We usually don't train everyone to jump higher, but for some natural jumpers, we do special training program for people really want to try. The biggest deal in all the jumping training is that you could try all your trainings with your heels lifted not touching the ground. Train to the level that your calves about to hurt or cramp for a 3 day session, if you get the cramp too early, ease it down a bit and vise versa, then rest for 1-2 days with just playing the game, no weights so that you can recover, if not recovering fast enough, take more rest during the 1-2 days, but don't extend the resting period, repeat the cycle for 5-6 rounds, and note each rounds might need adjust training intensity, this will significantly grow your muscle strength and explosiveness as the rapid reaching the limit and muscle rebuild works. In addition, you need to train for single foot jump, even though you get higher vertical with double foot jump with both feet, training single foot jump gives you the entire body muscle training during air time, upper body muscle utilization improves your air time and in air maneuverability, you might find that after a couple weeks of single foot jump training, you could jump the same height as double foot, in theory two legs doubles the power but same body weight should always win, but reality is that the rest of the body muscles matter so much, you'll be able to utilize the sprint motion potential energy into mechanical energy with single foot much better.
It has certainly been a pleasure to watch this video and see all the progress that you have made! Thinking back on my good old college days, I remember when you were having trouble touching the rim at all. To be able to watch the growth of your form, jump height, and passion has been amazing. I know that you will find creativity and curiosity for more things like this in the future, and I am excited to see what you come up with! Way to see this challenge to the end, and keep up the amazing work my good man!
Just discovered your channel, I am absolutely sure you‘ll get this. The motivation you got is fire and that’s pretty important to reach your goals. I‘m 5‘9“ and would also like to dunk, but for me it‘s not that important as for you. I focus on becoming better in dribbling and I can see a huge progress already, started from nearly 0 at the beginning to a level where I‘m just as good as the dudes playin basketball since they were in kindergarten. However, What I wanna tell you with this is that the key to success is consistency. Doing the same stuff over and over and over again without expecting too much, but seeing the progress you made when you took a look back. Keep on pushing 🔥
this was an awesome video, even giving me inspiration to go hoop, I’m 13 years old but I still have hope by 14 I can get dunk, hope to see more videos like this!- definitely earned a sub ❤️🔥
Thanks bro I appreciate it!!! This was my first video and I put a ton of effort and research into it, I’m going to start making more challenge videos very soon that will hopefully match this one :)
Finally, someone has approached the matter thoroughly, you are definitely cool. I want to reach 40 inches in a year, now I’m somewhere around 30, in short, huge respect to you, keep up the good work, your example inspired me
This was an incredibly fun watch! I once claimed around my friends that I can dunk based solely off the fact that I'm 6'3, but I'm unathletic af, so I doubt I could actually do it lmao. I'd love to see more from your Jumping Journey!
It's bullshit too. I have a friend who paid for it and consultation and everything and he never reached his goal. however, he did improve a bit. but you could easily improve that by just doing normal ass jumping 5 minutes a day trying to dunk (his words).
@@fockyutuub5193i did the ATG program for like 2-3 months and it brought my approach jump from 29” to 34”. I think it really depends how imbalanced you are going into it as I see it as more of a joint protection program than a vertical one
He couldn't have forgotten to watch kneesovertoes. He walked backwards on a treadmill. He'd just better hope Dr. Mike never sees all this limited range stuff, or he's gonna get roasted.
I'm vested now. I want to see that dunk. Anxiously awaiting the video where you finally get it. Great job on this video as well. Learned quite a bit about how I could improve myself
In the world of increasing your vertical 60 days is a blink of an eye. You enjoyed a better than average initial gain which most people experience to some degree. The rate of gain slows down for everyone but can continue with continued hard work. As well known UA-cam dunker Isaiah Rivera said “Increasing your vertical is like slowly adding individual sheets of paper to a stack of paper.” As you jump higher it takes longer and more workouts to add the next sheet of paper to the stack. Stick with it and see how high your stack can get. Then make another video.
I am in love with this channel already. And just at the right time. I am 5.6 . I came home crying thinking I will never be able to achieve anything in sport. Be it basketball or volleyball. I really want to jump higher and get better. I really do. I will start this training this summer. as soon as I can. Thank you for making this. You had my subscription from the title.

Very well done but you’re about 3-4 inches short of dunking, another month and you’ll have it. 60 days is a pretty insane timeline- 6 months would be impressive.
we have a same height and I'm a natural high jumper, even my peers tellin me that I'm such a waste if i don't use my skill in full potential! Thanks for this content it motivates me🎉
What you did wrong was starting at 10ft instead of developing your jumping to dunk on lower rims. You should start at 8ft then go to 9ft and keep moving up to 10
amazing gains! 20+ years ago i had the same goal, I'm just under 6 ft and at the end of it barely managed to grab the rim on a good day. You're doing way better!
Because my only real goal was dunking, I didn’t wanna waste any potential dunks since I was so close. If I would’ve gotten one I definitely would’ve checked my vert afterwards!

watching someone as your high, my goal was the same at the end of my senior year 09’ I told myself at least to touch the rim.
Respect. Keep it up!
Thanks for the feedback!!!
You saying you’re not quitting earned me as a subscriber! Let’s go brother!
Thank you 🦾🦾🦾
Thanks for making this video, i'm 5'7" played in high school, and at my "prime" i could dunk (not in a real game though).
That’s so cool man!!!
some of the best transformation videos I've watched. Keep up the good work dude, waiting for more content. Huge inspiration.
Thanks bro! I’m definitely gonna keep making videos :)
Even though you weren't able to do it, it's still impressive that you went from touching the backboard to hanging on the rim in two fucking months. Hope you're able to do it in the next few months. Well made vid and thanks for the inspiration (5'9 casual hooper), earned my sub.
I really appreciate it, I’m definitely gonna keep grinding and hopefully get it soon. Thank you for the support 🦾
Much respect to you for laying out your journey and showing your progress. I would recommend dunking on lower rims to get used to finishing the dunk. Start with 9’ then 9’6” then finish at 10.
You got this man!
Thank you so much bro!
Yeah man I would definitely watch more jumping content. You've inspired me, I play basketball for fun but never care to work on my vertical. At 6'1 your first attempt would've smoked me 😂
That’s so awesome!! You should totally work for it!
damn!! I feel very inspired by you, not even just about dunking but about getting in shape and comeback to play ball again. Keep the good work dude, great video!
Good luck with your journey bro!! Keep that motivation high 🦾🦾🦾
Bro I've been training my vertical and my goal is literally what you started at, since 30 inches is what I supposedly need to dunk. Starting at 30 inches is crazy, that's literally elite level.
Thank you so much!! Keep working at it bro 🦾
Thank you bro, that’s a very interesting concept and I may start incorporating some of the heels off the ground stuff at some point!
Thank you bro, I’ve always really appreciated all of your support. I’m glad you enjoyed the video :)
Thank you so much man, that’s awesome and I hope you keep improving! I really appreciate the motivation, stay with it bro 🦾🦾🦾
Great job man! Keep working hard. Self discipline is key.. but most importantly have fun!
Very true, if I wasn’t having fun I wouldn’t have gotten nearly as much progress!
this was an awesome video, even giving me inspiration to go hoop, I’m 13 years old but I still have hope by 14 I can get dunk, hope to see more videos like this!- definitely earned a sub ❤️🔥
You could definitely do it!! Keep me updated bro 🦾
@@T1_Strong yessir 🦾
I saw the video and thought youll have like 12 or 13 million and sat that you had only 12k, Insane quality KEEP GRINDING!!!!!
Thanks bro I appreciate it!!! This was my first video and I put a ton of effort and research into it, I’m going to start making more challenge videos very soon that will hopefully match this one :)
Great video, you improved a lot. I thought you were a viral UA-camr because your editing was so good. Keep making these videos!
Thank you, that is such a huge compliment, I definitely intend on making more videos!
amazing quality content 🔥
and the insparation is crazy too, keep it up man!
Thank you! Will do!
Finally, someone has approached the matter thoroughly, you are definitely cool. I want to reach 40 inches in a year, now I’m somewhere around 30, in short, huge respect to you, keep up the good work, your example inspired me
Thank you bro!!! I really appreciate it! Good luck with your journey man 🦾
Forget the 40 !!!! its very very long way to that!!!! one of 100 can jump so high
This was an incredibly fun watch! I once claimed around my friends that I can dunk based solely off the fact that I'm 6'3, but I'm unathletic af, so I doubt I could actually do it lmao. I'd love to see more from your Jumping Journey!
Thank you so much! I’ll be making more videos soon :)
Fun to watch, keep it up and I know you’ll get to that goal soon.
Thank you!
UA-cam recommended this to me. Algorithm is your best friend. Channel name should be jump man idk.
That’s awesome lol, and coming up with a name is probably the hardest part 😂
Got me inspired! I'm 6ft and haven't been able to dunk yet. Will definitely start incorporating same exercises. Meet you above the rim one day ;)
That’s awesome, I hope to see you there!!
Your improvement was absolutely insane man, way to push yourself to your limits 💪🏻💪🏻 absolute legend
Thank you so much, grind don’t stop 🦾
I thought I saw had seen u at 4:10 lmao.
why do i feel like bro is gonna get some help from the top atheles like isaiah. keep it up man this vid is really good
Lol that would be awesome, thank you for the support :)
You doing what you did in 60 days, in addition to the high quality video ... has got me back in the gym more regularly. Thanks.
That’s awesome to hear! 😁
keep pushing man. insane content
Will do for sure, thanks man!
He forgot to watch kneesovertoes
It's bullshit too. I have a friend who paid for it and consultation and everything and he never reached his goal. however, he did improve a bit. but you could easily improve that by just doing normal ass jumping 5 minutes a day trying to dunk (his words).
@@fockyutuub5193i did the ATG program for like 2-3 months and it brought my approach jump from 29” to 34”. I think it really depends how imbalanced you are going into it as I see it as more of a joint protection program than a vertical one
@@fockyutuub5193only bs is your comment😂 fake profile much???
@@fockyutuub5193You can get 95% of kneesovertoes info for free on their UA-cam…
He couldn't have forgotten to watch kneesovertoes. He walked backwards on a treadmill.
He'd just better hope Dr. Mike never sees all this limited range stuff, or he's gonna get roasted.
I'm vested now. I want to see that dunk. Anxiously awaiting the video where you finally get it.
Great job on this video as well. Learned quite a bit about how I could improve myself
Thank you so much, I’m glad you enjoyed it :)
Thanks so much, I’m definitely gonna keep working at it!
Keep going! The attempt at 15:48 was so freaking close
Thank you!!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed! I will be making more content for you to follow soon! Keep me updated on your training progress bro :)
@@T1_Strong My jump currently has a reach of about 290 cm. It is still very low. I hope I can get it to 3 meters.
IM FROM BOSTON,MASS...U DID A GREAT JOB JUMPING AND GRABBING THE RIM....THAT TAKES ALOT OF WORK.....STILL PROUD OF U FOR STEPPING IT UP...AND SHOWING US THAT U R STRONG....DONT GIVE UP....WHEN U RUN.....JUMP STRAIGHT UP AND PUSH THE BALL INSIDE.......KILLAAA......BOSTON/MASS
THANK YOU!
Great video g, subscribed 🔥 you’re up next. Bro please keep us updated on your dunking journey 🙏🏼
I will for sure!!! Thank you 🔥
Bro I was rooting for you… it looks like you got it
Meg is a real one for throwing lobs for over 3 hours
That’s facts!
If you started with a 28" vertical then you had a huge head start
Keep going! I can't wait for the video where you finally get it!
Hopefully that’ll be soon!!!
Great video man keep it up this is awesome
Thank you! I will for sure!
Very well done but you’re about 3-4 inches short of dunking, another month and you’ll have it. 60 days is a pretty insane timeline- 6 months would be impressive.
Thank you bro!
I’ll show this to my son. You are an inspiration. I like your technical and scientific approach to achieving you goal.
Thank you so much! I hope he enjoys 😁
According to my EXTENSIVE RESEARCH, I'm going to need a 38 inch verticle
0:17 idk man, half an inch is a LOT if you ask me
😂
we have a same height and I'm a natural high jumper, even my peers tellin me that I'm such a waste if i don't use my skill in full potential! Thanks for this content it motivates me🎉
That’s awesome bro, I’m glad you enjoyed!!
What you did wrong was starting at 10ft instead of developing your jumping to dunk on lower rims. You should start at 8ft then go to 9ft and keep moving up to 10
I know, if I had access to shorter rims this would’ve been the case for sure but sadly I didn’t
Nah bruh if this is 60 days… give it another month and you’ll be NUTS
Man I sure hope so, thanks for the support bro!!
amazing gains! 20+ years ago i had the same goal, I'm just under 6 ft and at the end of it barely managed to grab the rim on a good day. You're doing way better!
That’s so awesome! Thank you
16:59 what is that attached to his lower right ab?
I’m diabetic, it is my insulin pump!
@@T1_Strongrespect for having diabetes and still being physically active 🔥🔥
Imagine if he bought victory insoles 💀
As a short king, mad respect brotha - keep fighting the good fight
Thanks bro! Will do 🦾
Bro I'm 5'6" and my vert is 24". This makes me feel weak
😂 no that’s not weak at all bro!
Aww thanks😁 I'm 15 and also have a friend who is 14 with a 32" vert and can dunk
I think one thing may help you... training with lower rim. It will help you learn the dunk mechanics.
Yes you are very correct! I want to do that so badly but I don’t know how to lower the rims here
This was the most entertaining video I've seen in a long time. Rooted for you the entire way. 1M views is still not enough.
Thank you so much bro, you have no idea how much that means to me!!
Never ever jump with heavy weights out of a squat or deadlift. Ever.
bro is saying hes bad when with no training he has a 31 inch vert
Thank you I was actually very impressed with myself for that. The thing that was bad was my form lol I had no idea what I was doing.
You didn’t fail, you made so much progress 💪🏾
Thanks bro!!
imagine if he had proper form 💀💀💀
Factsss
He Has Enough Leaping Ability, But He Doesn't Know How To Jump Yet 🤷🏿♂️. He'll Dunk Easily Soon Enough 👍🏿.
You don't know what proper form is
Why didn't you measure your vert again
Because my only real goal was dunking, I didn’t wanna waste any potential dunks since I was so close. If I would’ve gotten one I definitely would’ve checked my vert afterwards!
@@T1_Strong you should definitely do it though, it'll definitely motivate you too
Great video. My 12 year old wants to dunk by the time he's a sophomore. I told him we better get to work now. These exercises look great for him. Thanks!
That’s so cool!! I’m sure he can do it!
Why do you have so many baddies
😂
@@HashemHoops24 For real. Every time the tosser was on video, I was just looking at her butt lol.
Who else be looking at his butt the whole video
That was awesome. I am very impressed not only by how ambitious & confident you were, but also your training approach. I think you met your goal whether you dunked or not.
I’m surely happy with the progress, but I am still training hard to start dunking! Thank you!!
Try 1 foot
I used to jump with 1 foot but ever since I switched to 2 I’ve jumped way higher personally
