Reminds me of the 2000 gallon. 4 pot truck I drove for amoco uk in England when I first started with them in 1973, brought back a lot of memories, thanks
With the price of fuel smart smart move buy in bulk get better prices but I would not expect nothing less but great ideas and knowledge coming from you I know you’re busy but really miss your videos good to see you back👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I’ve been enjoying your videos for quite some time now in hopes of restoring a truck myself for part time work. It wasn’t until recently I noticed your ND tags. I’m from the Rugby, ND area. It’s good to see someone who is “somewhat local” putting out some great DIY videos for truck maintenance.
I drove one just like it for several years in the late 80's early 90's delivering gas and diesel out to the farmers tanks in the country. Fun times. Gasoline was .80¢ a gallon, and farm diesel was about the same at that time. It was a nice driving truck 366 gasser 5 speed with a 2 speed rear end. Ours hauled 2400 gallon when full.
Got yourself a good truck there Ezra, can you get a discount on buying your fuel in bulk, its amazing on something as old as this truck how everything is working, obviously made in the era of good American engineering, like we used to have here in the UK, always look forward to your videos.
looking through the new purchases is my wifes favorite part of it. learning its history and the life it had is always interesting. we have been considering a fuel truck for delivers...not much available around here.
I'd probably want something a bit newer If I was planning to use it for delivery's. But then again I'm sure you have a nice single axle truck or two that tank and equipment could go on.
You won't be disappointed with that purchase. I'm saving close to 1 dollar per gallon buying bulk. It sucks dropping 21k to fill two trucks. It definitely saves money and the convenience of having fuel at your location. If it's mobile, no permit needed. Good score!!!!
Congrats on the truck! That this is just awesome, and the fact that it still works is amazing. Glad to see you back! You know this is coming though right? YOU NEED to restore that gem. Thats a pretty truck, and could be New Red hehe. Just be careful with those rims. They can be a bear!
Back in the day they used to have the 305V6 or the 351 V6 both detriot gas engines those things ran for every that 366 is dependable just exhaust leaks and plug wires are constantly going on
Glad to see that you put out a new video. You might want to hookup that fuel truck to a ground when you are fueling it up so static electricity won't set it off and make a big boom. Nice truck to have for sure.
Ole truck looks solid Ezra! 😀 I think you got a great buy! You're brave for holding your phone over the top! I would be the guy that accidentally dropped it in! 🤣 Glad to see you're doing well my friend. Take care 🔧
Nice old truck few of my friends have some of those old trucks and they come to the yard and fill them the trucks never move if u order enough fuel they will deliver fill the hole truck up and get rid of the gas side nice score
Nice truck Ezra. We had a couple of straight vans on GM chassis like yours. The difference was that ours had 4-53 Detroit Diesels. I think that they contributed to some of my hearing loss.
Oldest fuel truck I worked on was a 1990 international that had a double frame that was basically completely rotted from rust jacking. But this is way cooler. Looks very solid. And has the old Neptune registers. See those once in a while on some newer stuff.
Great thing with this set-up is, you can buy bulk quantities when the price is down 👍( that is, if there’s enough operating capital) saves a lot of money in the end.
Kinda like playing the stock market but your already ahead to start with as bulk fuel is already cheaper than at the pump. I wish I could have bought a couple years worth of fuel back when crude hit negitive numbers...lol
Have watched every one of your vids and gave thumbs up on all. Enjoy the content and have learned a lot. Was wondering if you have finished hookups on both air filter on big red.
Worked on many C65 Chevy's in my day. Not a bad truck, I see someone removed the 4 barrel Holley carb. and replaced it with a 2 barrel. Design of the brake adjusters is poor and difficult to get to. Each wheel has 2 wheel cylinders and the vacuum booster is behind the drivers side step. Blue and white tag in the glove box will tell you all the options that were installed from the factory. The cab and chassis are newer than 1972. Trick to clutch replacement if you ever need to do one. No need to remove the bell housing after you remove the transmission. Just depress each of the 3 levers on the pressure plate and place a 3/8 nut between the pressure plate housing and the lever. This will hold the lever down and give enough room for the pressure plate to clear the bell housing and cross member. Oh and when replacing spark plugs, watch that squared piece of sheet metal on the passenger side firewall. I got a scar from it on my left hand from it.
Carb has been changed to some kind of electronic controlled carb or maybe a throttle body EFI I honestly really haven't even pulled off the air cleaner to look but it's got a control box for it mounted in the passenger side foot well and a number of wires coming out from under the air cleaner. The guy told me that it had a "new style carb" on it one of there employees installed.
@@Ezrider359 Yeah the carb looked different from any I've seen, you can also make out the adapter plate used under it. Hope it give you good service. Problem with the Holley 4 barrel is it's a governed carb and people would push on the little eyelet that the spring goes through to rev it up from under the hood. That would unlatch the throttle plates. You'd wear a hole in the bottom of your shoe trying to push the gas pedal unless you knew how to reset the latch .
Times have changed since everything on my fuel truck is all computerized so the pump will not turn unless you select a customer it's a bit of a pain in the ass sometimes lol but still can gravity dope a load and it's side load not top load and a lot of fuel plants let you top load anymore cool truck
what fuel do you Buy straight Diesel or a Mix? my Boss buys Jet fuel mixed with diesel and something that's called "Spindle Gear grease" I think, althogh it ain't a grease, it's more like an oil, we run it in EGR and DPF Trucks never had issues and because I fuel up at our Pump, I got it to.
I remember watching a video about filling tankers from top that way its very dangerous because of fumes and not ground most certainly with gas not sure of diesel might wont to look into it just dont want to see you hurt
Not sure what you paid for the truck, but since the truck runs, and especially the tank plumbing is free-flowing, you got a good deal, for sure. Good luck with it EZ.
Ezra, may I post a link to one of my videos about my late father's 1958 Plymouth Suburban about my journey of getting it back on the road? Car is in my profile picture.

Cool retro old fuel tanker that actually runs and works well by the looks. Good score and should save you a few dollars on fuel👍
Great to have you back posting Ezrider

Awesome find Ezra you bought that at the right time LOL I'm sure it's going to get plenty of use been really cared for too that is pretty awesome
Nice auction score, Ezra! That old fuel truck is a good looking old girl.
I think that the old Amoco emblems are cool. We haven’t seen Amoco branded products here since probably the 90s
I believe amoco was absorbed by BP in the late 90's 🤷 I haven't seen a amoco station in a long time
Cool...that's Welker Farms over in MT on the cover, they have a youtube channel too, you should mail them that : ).
I'll have to take a second look at it and see if it is them
Ezra! We've missed ya!!!👍🚛
Take us on a road trip. Love your videos. Learn a lot
G’day Ezra nice to see you again I know that it can be difficult to get good input and film. Stay safe and Keep well John
Nice score 👍
Hey Ezra nice video and great explanation! I'd guess that your truck pump meter is pretty accurate, since a little bit of fuel stays in the hose.
Nice to see you back, I always enjoyed the videos you put out very knowledgeable.

Nice to see that on Power Tour 2023
Hi buddy on the 359 truck drivers side air cleaner doesn’t have the rubber around the air cleaner clamps
Cool video and a great find.
Clean the old girl up. Get a new bench and you’re good to go!
You have to watch for the hoses feeding the meters if they burst they will unload the compartments
Nice summer haircut😁 Good to see you back

366 great motor! They put thin a lot of school buses
