That loader is in good shape for its age-clearly not abused-good buy !!
Another quality, no nonsense video. Looking forward to seeing the work you do on it 👍🏴
Coming soon!
I guess our state’s DOT was having a “safety drive “ last week. Poor truckers were pulled over everywhere getting inspected.
Unfortunately with all the imported third world trash driving trucks, more inspections are necessary.
It is a bleeping mess. All normal truck drivers need to do something else. Let them have it all. Haul everything for nothing. Let’s go Brandon. Truckin sucks. Most Load brokers are garbage.
Thank goodness you can fix the seal there was no breaking on that drum with all that grees on the shoes🙂
A great find there on the tire. I’m not a trucker but even I could see how important it is to do a good pre trip inspection. Your loader looks to be in really good shape.
That's awesome video👍👍👍
I have a customer that has two of those machines, they have Allison transmissions in them and Ford tractor engines, I have worked on hundreds of Ford tractor engines. They are absolutely one of the toughest engines out there, there is a start a button on the injection pump, push the button that is located on the throttle shaft then climbing the cab push the throttle to the floor and start, also there is a fuel heater on the intake, I used to manage a large shop where we took care of 30 Ford tractors and they were never plugged in ,in the winter, and always started, our winters are 10 to 15° most of the time, most loaders are very helpless in slick weather. Get yourself a set a chains for the front drive axle, these are pretty good loaders, but they’re starting to get hard to get some of the parts, I recently did gaskets and seals on the converter housing of one of them. Fortunately, seals were still available.
Thanks for sharing all of the Detail and I am glad to made it safe and I think it is wise to get a good nights rest before unloading! Take car and be safe!
Really good find EZ. No doubt with your mechanical abilities this loader will be in tip top shape before too long. Thank you for sharing.
13:00 you and the tin man getting acquainted. Antiseize is the best isnt it lol
Thank you for sharing Ezra. Awesome video brother.👍👍👍
The doors looks good.
Coffees on brother ,,,, here we go!! Cheers!;-)!!
Good video anything with old red in it is a plus
Those old Ford tractors had engines with a precombustion chamber which made them hard to start in cold weather but they are excellent engines otherwise. It may have a "thermo start" that heats the intake.
You poor guys been getting hard with snow in central ND too. Hopefully that Ford payloder works good for you. Great video as usual 👍
Congratulations on the new purchase. Keep on truckin! God bless!
Congrats! This is the time to expand!
Nice machine man, looks well worth bringing back up to grade.
Glad you had a safe trip and back to the shop with a great piece of equipment and I like it, I'll catch ya on the next one.
Hi I used to operate a a64 back in the 1980's 4 cylinder turbo it was good machine 👍
That would be a a62. A64 was a normally aspirated 6cyl 666ci the a 66 was the same engine as the 64 but with a turbo. Turbo 4cyl would be a a62
@@Ezrider359 yes your correct I remember now it was a a62
You’re truck looks beautiful pulling that flat bed step deck trailer bro. I’m a kid of the seventies I’ve always loved trucks. Especially pulling tandem axle flat beds. Just looks so right. I never did become a trucker. I’m a south London bricklayer of 40 years now. I still love trucks especially Pete’s and kenworth. The old school ones. Nice watching a man that knows he’s stuff. Good luck Ezra god speed. Regards from south London England 🏴
Nice machine. If you had tire chains on it. Would be great. Take care. Great show.
Seems like a very good find there, Ezra! I´m happy on your behalf 👍
awesome vid as always Ezra👍🏻🇺🇸
I grooved the tires on my skid steer and definitely noticed an improvement in snow traction
GPS Jimmy on the ride…👅🐾🐾
Really nice straight old girl!I hope she gives you many hours of service.
That ford is the skies deer on steroids lol. Your fleet is growing. Thanks for another video
Great video driv,ah hope all is well EZ RIDER
Nice machine it work good for what u need it fo
Nice loader Ezra she sounds like she runs well.
Keep On Truckin
Good looking old Ford loader! Not a rust bucket, looks well taken care of most of it's life! Great buy!
Nice. Loaders can be pretty handy to have in your lot to move this over to that and out of one and into another. Good Score Ezra :-) Nice!
Every loader I have ever ran needed to at full throttle. My Dad had John Deere 644’s and I started running them at 12 years old in our gravel bank. That is a nice machine for its age. Great buy Ezra.
Those old fords are good loaders , it will serve you well 👍🏽
Yes sir cool video 👍
Wow that machines in great condition. We had a A62 and beat the crap out of it. When we auctioned it off we got good money..
I worked for a company in Oklahoma City in the late 70s that had 2 Ford front end loaders one was an a62 and the other was an a66 both were very fine loaders the a 62 even had hydraulic connectors at the rear where we would pull a large root disc
Ezra at @13:33 it looks like you been eating anti seize brother 😂😂😂
Hey Ezra, Jamie from Australia, another great video and it's good seeing how you guys do things over in the good old USA.
I did notice it's a bit chilly there Sir, just for comparison today here was 38c HOT, about 90 odd I think in your measure, and it's great to see old red out on the road. Keep up the good work, I enjoy your videos a lot, Regards from Newcastle Australia 🇺🇸🇭🇲🤝
Last company I worked for had one of these for a yard loader.. actually a very robust loader, and lifts more than you would think... definitely pre-dates safety lol..
Extremely cold blooded! We had to leave it parked in the shop during the winter or running outside, or it would not start at all without a snort of the Cosby sauce...
My old company might sell ya parts if needed, they're even in north Dakota lol
Another good find Ezra, old red is looking tough as woodpecker lips
O-H-I-O Porter greetings.🇺🇸 I sure like the way you clean the trailer off. It pays to always check your tires before a trip & to know how old they are as well. Huh? Tis a good thing that you changed them when you did! Might need to brush & repaint those wheels by Spring. Couldn’t get your wife to go with you as well? Hey, even your dog gave you some company. Nice long trip. I haven’t driven a front end loader in years! They are fun though. A great tool to have! Impressive my friend. The loader needs a little TLC but otherwise looks quite nice. Looks like some more learning is in order for us. Bring it ON! Good stuff, my friend! 🥰😎✌️
I know you will have all the bugs worked out of that machine in no time.😊👌🏾
Thanks man more good viewing 👍🏼👍🏼
Leaf blower works great for removing the snow
Skid steer works better that snow was pretty wet as well you would have been there all day with a leaf blower. Light dry snow they work pretty good. A buddy of mine who has a car dealership uses a leaf blower to clean the snow off the cars on his lot a lot of the time
Good buy! We toss chains on the tires here. You'll most of the bush machined fully chained sometimes year round. That was a nice highway drive! I like those drives. Don't get them often.
Awesome video thanks Ezra will make a great machine 🚛🚜🚛🚜🚛🚜
That thing looks good for it's age, looking forward to you fixing it up Ezra, have fun be safe ,Joe from N J.
Am not always in to what you put out. But I always give you thumbs up since you are a hard worker. Regards from Norway.
He puts out semi truck and mechanic vids, what's not to like?
Nice job on the pre-trip on the tires and lights Ezra. You are so thoroughly prepared in your videos and how you present them. Keep up the safe operations.I thought of something, how rough the roads are,and you leaving at night.A couple of 2 inch ratchet straps "X"pattern on your loading ramps on the very back ,help secure the one securement just over the top.
those ramps are not going anywhere.
Mr Ezra That looked like a good find. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
I think so. Thanks for watching Mr Hal. Stay safe out there 👍
You’re absolutely correct, no later than 10 year tire carcass 👍
Nice! I like the new loader Ezra! 😁👍 Pretty neat you found one with a diesel engine too. Glad to see the trip went well my friend. That's gunna work wonders on moving snow in the parking lot. Take care and be safe 🔧🔩
yeah im not completely sold on it being a great snow plowing machine yet. maybe with a big plow or pusher on it and some more traction, but with the same size bucket i think im actually faster in the skid steer. still has 10x the lift capacity of the skid steer and will be a very usefull tool. already used it for one job that the skid steer really would have struggled to do that your see in after a couple video's thanks for watching zane be safe.
Tyre pressures have a big effect on the amount of traction grip and the comfort ride on those type of tyres. More weight on the rear and / or water ballast in the tyres would also improve grip.
@@Hard_Right depends what country you are from as to if it's spelt tire or tyre my man.... bit like aluminum or aluminium or Anartica or Antarctica etc.
Here in the states it is illegal to run ballast in tires unless it's a small bag of steel shot for tire balancing.
@@TheRoadhammer379 not in equipment
Ford loader it’s my first time to see that
Good buy EZ. That step deck doesn't seem to have a problem earning its keep. Ol'Red is one fine machine, she still excites me sexaully 😂
Alllrighty then...lol
Love ur videos, well done, keepem coming, also me thinks we are almost neighbours, from Stony Plain AB., Independent owner op step deck operation. Cheers from Invictus Trucking Ltd
Only 850 miles away 😜
Small potatoes for longhaul LOL
what a great purchase! nice clean machine. those picot pin on the loader look barely used! i can see a lifting boom attachment in your future!
Yeah a boom and probably a big set of forks. I want to look at some loader quick attachments and see if there is one I like to copy to add a quick attach.
@@Ezrider359 the jrb style seem to be real popular. Our old case has an acs and finding attachments to fit is hard
Very nice
Hey Ezrider. Can you put chains on the tires? I was just wondering. I enjoy your vlogs.
I have a W 14 B Case that was owned by the State of Montana. Had just a hair over 4K hours on it when I bought in March of 2019. Run tire chains on the 2 rear tires in rhe Winter months. Makes a tank out of that machine
Without the chains your always sliding or spinning on ice/snow. Makes for a near zero getting stuck winter unless you get stupid. I have never had it stuck yet, but don't get into a situation that looks overly complicated. Prefer the chains on the front tires to keep an eye on them better but the W 14 has hydraulic cylinders right next to the front tires. To little clearance for my comfort so I run them on the rear tires. Good luck with your recent A 64 Ford. That's way more loader than a Skid. I have 3 Skids but the W 14 B is the heavy lifter in the winter we have this year
Would have loved to see your eyes. When you notice that tire was about to explode. You'd better go to church twice on sunday and sacrifice a chicken to the Tire gods. Another great video and find. Surprise you don't have somebody to help you film and work on the equipment. Drive safe, my friend.
A builder I know has a loader just like that to plow snow in his subdivision that he had never personally used till a few days ago and he said the same thing as you sure seems like you have to rev that thing up real high to get it working
i love that truck
The more axles and bigger the trailer more maintenance that is required just be glade you can do your own tires and maintenance saves a bundle of money
Yes more axles more maintenance but you also have more flexibility and able to haul more weight. I would have been just fine with a tandem step deck but I ended up with a tridem
@@Ezrider359 its a awsome trailer you can haul just about anything u want with it i wish i could mount tires as fast as you do i struggle with 3/4 ton truck tires 😂
Yes truck tires are much easier to manually mount and dismount than car and light truck tires. That's why I got a tire machine for the light tires and still manually mount the big stuff.
Tractor crack...... That was funny. Never heard that.
👍🏼🍻
You need some chains on those tires if You don't those tires are not gonna last long.
So thats what you were doing last week when you said you were in SD headed north on 29
Cool loader.
Lol summer air in a can!
👍👍
The tier you replace is 18 years the same age as me
May I use the tractor crack word for ether? That had me rolling on the floor 🤣
Go for it!
May I suggest to remove snow of your truck , trailer is a good leaf blower
Hope its not stolen ezra lol
Omg dude!😢😮
i like the tractor to
Your right not much to see all flat no trees hills nothing
Eastern ND and sd isn't much to look at especially in the winter
i have seen crakes in dump truck tires where you could slide a nickel into.
Transmission might perform better with a new/ clean filter.
Have seen so many that were fluid starved due to filter issues
Just a thought…
Linkage might be worn somewhere?
you just about described the video that will be up next...lol 👍👍
I thought I was the only one that cleaned off a trailer like that
Well, I guess between you, me and Ezra, we found three of a dying breed
easier than a shovel.
I wouldn't brush the snow off when you're doing 70 mi an hour it's going to come off
A light dusting sure but not that much snow
👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
😎👌
Sure looks cool at night with the lights on. Do you balance the truck tires? Thanks St. Paul.
Change all 12 tires and clean up and paint the rims
Make a day longer than 24 hours mabye I'll get to it soon.

Good find! Some chajns next? What engine’s in that? Ford 6.6l I6?
6.6l Ford👍
@@Ezrider359 It’s a classic. Tractors, small trucks, you name it. Called the “Dover” engine over here.
⭐⭐⭐
what about when they were 3 digit date codes 😂😂😂
3 digit date code is pre 2000
Allison transmission probably needs a service
I believe that will be the next video to go up
Little, fixing should be a good loader.
Is it possible to turn a 2 axle step deck into a 3 axle ?
That's awesome FORD wheel loader . What engine is in it?
I forget the exact engine model but it's very similar and based off the Ford 401
@@Ezrider359 I almost said a Perkins diesel but not sure if Ford used them in equipment
FB marketplace is a dangerous place.....
Typical Ford gotta drive it with anger, lol.
So tomorrow morning or just going to hop in and go what about your pretrip
You would still do a quick walk around but going threw equipment the night before especially a trailer you don't use every day will help avoid delays if problems are found.
@@Ezrider359 I've been driving 40 years semis if you drive the same truck and use the same you get to know that truck and trailer like with the truck you know if it uses a lot of oil or antifreeze the only thing I can consistently every day is the tires
Drive it like a rental.....
What ratio do you have in Ol Red?
According to the data tag on the axles they should be 3.70 but with 11r22.5 tires od ratio of .73 in the Eaton 18918b and a observed 75mph@1620 rpm calculates to a 3.55 so the ratio was probably changed at some point to 3.55 prior to when. I bought the axles.
@@Ezrider359 Thanks alot !! Was thinking on changing my air leaf out to a flex air suspension. How much difference would there be using my tall 24.5?
Its a deal
You are doing the loading bucket all wrong. When you get into the pile don’t pickup just curl your bucket back then pickup a few inches. No need to spin the tires at all
Tell me you have never run a front end loader without telling me you have never run a front end loader.
