Just wanted to drop a note letting you know that I love your channel. I especially enjoyed the 359 build, but enjoy all of your videos. Have a Great Day!
Holy crap! I would have shit my pants when that thing popped up like that! I felt your frustration not being able to get a solid lift. Thought you might toss that piece clear across the yard. LOL That slider is slick. Now that you can use it. Great episode!
Hi Ezra, Jamie here watching from Australia, you were at 4c temperature, it was 35c here today, summer time. I really enjoy your videos and work on your trucks, your channel has certainly given me plenty of tips and tricks for my truck repairs, so thanks for the great content, and thanks for sharing your knowledge it's very much appreciated🇺🇸🇭🇲🤝
Lol I was thinking the same thing as I watched! Good job. I like the new mounting ideas, I might used that method on my flat bed when I build it! You tube @ NF Project Shop.
Man I'm glad I live in Australia, I couldn't put up with that cold, snow and everything freezing all the time. A cold start for my truck would be like 5C at the very worst lol.
couple pieces of box tube to slip your forks into and help keep the bed closest to the skidsteer down? figured you locking system would incorporate horizontal pins and sleeves that went male to female form the add on section to the original trailer sections. i guess i over think things. love this trailer and having the ability to shorten when not needed.
O-H-I-O Porter greetings.🇺🇸 It took me some time to watch this episode, but it was quite worth it! Having that little bobcat sure helped! I thought adding the brackets before removing the section was the right way to do it. If nothing else, maybe you can add some safety latches on each corner, if needed. Those bolts should do the job though! I’m just thinking a bit more. Safety comes FIRST when hauling anything! You never want anything floor section to shift or break. Don’t forget to check the lights on your trailer since you have shortened it. Glad that the floor didn’t move too much after you cut those 2 welds. You seemed ready for anything. Now you can put that section aside for when you need it or set it up as a ramp to that up deck, but that adds more weight. I read that you’re gonna add slots to it later. That’s good. Good stuff! Thanks for sharing it! Blessings! 🥰🤩✌️
Wow Ez ! That was close my friend. As you were cutting those last few welds off i was thinking Man that's going to POP ! because it wasn't stable on the skid steer. Glad you didn't get hurt bloke. Cheers from Sydney Australia MATE and STAY SAFE! 🇭🇲👍🚛🇭🇲🇺🇸🇭🇲👍🇭🇲
It didn't pop because it was unstable. It popped because I had a lot of tension on it by having it picked up. I was positioned relatively out of harms way
A advise for convinience to putting the deeck on and off, cut 2 Square holes in each side of the deck so the forks fit right into it and weld square tubing or braces on the other (the inside) of the Deck so ye can lift it up and set it down like a Pallete without the fidling around, of it falling down or strapping it.
Yeah, the lack of grease I see on 5th wheels when guys are dropping trailers in truckstops is disturbing. But you know... it's not their equipment, they don't have a dime invested.
I had a thought when you mentioned what you were going to do. I thought dining room table and the leaf you put in it. There are pins and holes that hold the leaf in. I realize that this is a trailer that travels down the road so it might not work. You might need to cut some holes in the side channels for the forks to fit in so it wouldn't tip forward and it would be easier to lift the deck up, another thought .
DAMN Brother You sure got Lucky and didn't get Hurt when You cut that final weld. What was you thinking about you know better than that lol. Would have been easier to have run a couple of chains across the deck to the skid steer. Then lift off of the trailer keeped it from bouncing all over the place.
Quick thought I think how you did your mounts is good. The class 8 mechanic in me is thinking that a bolt or 1 in pin in the four corners with the mag drill keeps the dot man happy. Plus if you hauled steel coils or so keep the deck from moving side to side. Looking good
@@McRocket, the infrastructure for electric semi trucks is many years away. There has been no real long term testing, Tesla is a joke based on the tests they have performed. Those trucks have no long term testing in extreme heat such as the Mojave desert, and no testing performed in arctic climates. Think about it, your cell phone battery loses charge capacity, your phone functions poorly if overheated or in extreme cold, those EV trucks will be subjected to harsh heat and cold that you can't even fathom. 130+ degrees in Bakersfield during the summer, negative 15 or colder in Wyoming, with wind chills reaching - 30, EV is not anywhere near a viable option for trucking. Batteries, sensors and other components are going to be a challenge from a supply chain standpoint. The amount of parts and cost of repair after an accident is going to be detrimental to the EV market. Lastly, don't get too excited about EV going forward, it's not realistic, Toyota has recently announced that their goal of 60% EV sales by 2035 is far fetched and unattainable, they now cite their goal is a modest 15% of their sales to be EV by 2035. Do you know that lithium is a finite resource? Geological estimates put global lithium supply at 25 million tons across the globe, China, Russia and Venezuela own a combined 19 million tons, and they are not our friends. The United States has ZERO lithium, and once we deplete it across the world, that's it. It's a dirty resource, mining of lithium is 100 times more toxic to the environment than drilling for oil. Lithium mining also contributes to slave labor and human rights violations. I think EV trucks will have a place for local trucking applications, and will work well in urban areas.
@@Ezrider359, you're obviously smarter than my buddies and I, 😂. The 6 of us split the cost of an 60x80x20, and all the tools and equipment inside. I said we should go 100x80 but noooo, no one listened. Now everyone bitches when the guy with the 300" wb and 53 spreadaxle reefer pulls in and there's no room to get between the door and the hood, and absolutely no room to open the hood. Then he uses 1.5 bays for the truck and trailer, not impressed. 100 long would have been a lot better.
So your Trailer is a Trombone stepdeck that's a Canadian name reference Next time you lift the deck sling a chain to the Drings accross the lifting deck to Bobcat and no wobble
Well. After this video I can see another “well guys today we have a new project” and it’s some bigger machine because this one was slightly small for lifting the deck piece lol 😂
Lol very possible. But the bobcat is plenty big enough to lift it forks just are not long enough. A couple fork pockets in the side would fix that issue. But seems like a good enough excuse to me to consider buying a payloader....lol
Thank you for taking the time to make these videos to share with us. I really enjoy seeing how people do their work and I learn from every video.

You should cut two holes in the side of the deck section for the forks to run through. Loved it when you cut the one inch welds, made me jump!

Howdy it’s pretty cool that Ezra can reach around the world. Hope you are enjoying your summer it’s cold over here in Oklahoma
How about cutting two slots in the trailer spacer for your forks to take it on and off?
Yes. I'm going to put some fork pockets in it. Just didn't get it done yet.
👍

It is always a pleasure to watch you work. I have followed you since you started Big Red. In my opinion you are second to none. God Bless.
OSHA had a stroke watching him cut the last welds on the deck. LMAO
Mr Ezra 2 in 1 trailer. I like that. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
thanks mr hal, its a very versatile trailer for sure.
Great Video👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it

That would have been a great idea if I would have thought of it. I plan to put some fork pockets in the side to make it easier to handle.
I was thinking the exact same thing
Ezra Great Video. Glad the weather was a little better for your job. Now you have 2 trailer's in one. Have a good day. Stay Safe & Be Careful.
Yeah I was waiting for a nicer day for that project

Great idea making it bolt together Ezra! 🙂👍 Glad you could make progress with the warm weather. Take care 🔧🔩
thanks for watching zane, was nice to get a break from the weather and be able to get a few things done.

Thanks for sharing and another great project you have shared.

I'll bet that was exciting when you cut that second weld loose and the deck snapped up, EZ.
Ez being a "bull in a china shop!" Glad you didn't hurt yourself.
Hi Ezra been watching for a long time from here in the South West UK just loving your stuff, except the tempertures ! keep em coming.
You would love out temps today -25f/-35c
I could use a wagon like that lol looking good to see others with grease on 5th wheels, it’s needed lol.

I'll never haul steel coils on this trailer.
@@Ezrider359 rereading my comment should of said awkward load. Sorry
At least it slid once you got the deck out. My luck it wouldn’t have moved. Like a 5th wheel you don’t move for a couple months
Thanks for the video sir!
Thanks for sharing.
Gotta admit I jumped a little when she popped loose. 🤣
He could weld pockets on top of the section and captured bolts/nuts and use common chain over the forks for lifting
Cool video man 👍
That was definitely the sketchiest video you have done! I like the fastening system you came up with. It should work out pretty well.
i think iv done worse...lol
Now I know why you were looking for a loader.
One thing u could do is put a couple of rectangle holes in the side then u can pick it up easily just a thought
Did you but the trailer as a extendable?
Question?
What do you think about all-electric trucks (like the Tesla Semi)?
Apologies if you already answered this question.
☮
Tesla truck wouldn't work for the freight I haul. I don't see it being a widely viable option for a long time to come.
@@Ezrider359 Thanks.

Electric vehicles suck, all about gas and diesel
@@MadMax-yq9ix Wow...EV's 'suck'.
That's about as emotional-based and unspecific as one can get, I suppose.
Good thing I wasn't asking you.
Bye now.
