- In this video i make 3 mallets in white oak recycled step treads. The first one was made to give away at the in store demo i did at the Filson shop in NYC on May 18 2017. The second one was made mostly at that Demo. The third one was completed at the new shop in the upstate NY!
Very big Thank You!! to Filson and the Friends, old & new that came out to a wonderful evening!! www.filson.com

I thought that it was really badass of Jimmy to offer to hangout with the guys afterwards, and didn't just pack up and leave immediately... I've noticed that Jimmy seems to always have time to chat and get to know the people he meets. That's why he has so many friends that have wonderful stories, because he's taken the time to listen to each of them. In this day-in-age when so many people are in a rush and there are very few people that would give up their time to talk to someone they don't yet know. For Jimmy to be willing to do that... it's really admirable.
Jason V. That was the best comment on UA-cam.
Thanks jimmy for being a great man and I love your videos because you make it look great job. Thanks jimmy see you later. Bye God bless you and your family and friends.
Mr. Diresta, I've just recently started out in this woodworking journey. I'm a 57 year old newbie and have watched and read countless videos and mags on woodworking in the past year. I'm a native New Yorker living in too hot Florida. Watching you work has been such a joy for me and more importantly a great learning experience. I want to thank you for sharing your great talent. If I have a quarter of that talent, I know I'll go far in this woodworking adventure.
Thank you.
I trust you left a sufficient amount of sawdust on the clothing so the hipsters will wear them like a badge of honor. Thanks for another fun video.
Virginia Hoffman: If the store management was smart, they would have swept it up and sprinkled it on the flannel shirts, adding a 200% markup for having "Eau du Diresta"
Legend says... he does not speed up his videos
Man, I need to visit New York. Stores here would not do that.
Hand Tool Rescue You're not going to the right stores. in particular ones that have $50 tee shirts, and $500 tin coats/pants. Just kidding. Ya it's a New York thing. Also, you see he just had to walk across the street to go from his shop to the Filson shop.
Hand Tool Rescue where are you?
Nice mallets! I can just imagine the shop owner "awww the dust its EVERYWHERE" and jimmy says something to the effect of it'll add the vintage look you've wanted
Jimmy has the only channel where I could enjoy it with my eyes closed because the sounds are that good.
Perfect timing !
Waiting for KC to get home.....Oh, nice build blah blah blah ;-)
Dude your videos never fail to cure my hangovers, thank you.
Someday I will get to see this man in person... That will be a good day
he is awesome to meet - and it will be a great day
Thanks for letting us watch over your shoulder! Nice work!
Loved the camera shot through the pipe of brass getting cut.
Here I am watching DiResta videos when I should be doing other things. And I told myself "only one".... Damn you Jimmy.
Jimmy Diresta for President 2020!
Michael Morris might even let him do a little dictating we would all be poor but everything would be handcrafted out of love
Amerika will just die..... now Trump and than just a guy good in woodworking have to govern a full Country? Just Sad
Hopefully you can forgive that >60 million people had a very different opinion of Trump from you.
i see you didnt understood what i mean... the question is... how can he vote for a woodworker as a politican.. even when diresta is a great woodworker and i love his work. i dont belive he will ever be good in being a president...
That *WOOD* be great.
I don't think I've ever seen something more hipster than the woodworking in a clothing store :D
Awesome work Bro !! That guy who won the mallet must have been so happy. Thanks
I loved the Circular Saw Cam! Great video Jimmy! :D
Nice project.I watcv your videos over 2 years.
I just started working with the lathe and turning wood, I made a truncheon yesterday. And watching him mill the mallet with the hole in it, actually terrified me. I'd never try that, ever. But the fact you, Diresta, did it without any real fuss was cool nonetheless
this is one of the things I like about you jimmy. You don't bullshit you're people when you go to a public demo, etc. What they see is what they get and it's all you. work on brother.
My daughter says another one of that guys videos. She is 3. She doesn't like the high pitch sounds.. I have to say.. thanks for doing what you do. Keep up the hard work,I have learned from you and I appreciate it.
Kiowa Garage Works Best sounds is when he uses styrene. He made some cases out of it a few years ago. Really nice sound.
I keep saying this, but a mallet is in my short list. I need one for leatherwork. You make it look easy.
it's a real pleasure to see you working. very nice
so happy i get to watch a new video of yours as i get ready to call it a night, love the videos!
I love the method used to set out the handle template for bandsawing. Brilliant. Damo
Jimmy is the GOAT! Awesome result as always
Sweet mallet I love watching you work it seems very fluid very natural. Awesome video as always.
Camera inside the pipe was a brilliant shot.
Very nice job! How cool to see you at an event.
Always glad to see a new one posted.
Jim
Never can figure out who thumbs down Jimmy's videos!
was kann ich sagen, was andere nicht bereits -zigfach gesagt haben? Es macht einfach Spaß, einem Könner bei der Arbeit zuzuschauen!
Am I the only one that thinks these videos are satisfying
@5:25. that sandpaper holder for the 5" discs is genius!
I like how they came out! Makes me want to try some barrel coopering.
You know, I always forget how loud most of these operations are when I watch one of these videos... Went to seat something with a hammer the other day and was startled by the noise I made... It wasn't anything like the rapid tapping sound of a DiResta sped-up hammering!
How can he take something as simple as a mallet and make it look like such a masterpiece? My mallets have nothing on those! I also don't have a lathe... Another superb production!
Great workmanship with a stunning result.
I'm woke at 3AM and can't sleep so I'm watching your vids. So relaxing
Those are some sweet mallards!
Jason Hughes I hope you did that on purpose. it's a mallet not a mallard
kristian woodhouse It's a call back to Episode 065 of Making It Podcast with Jimmy, David, & Bob
Congrats on one million subs again!! Awesome mallets!
The brass pipe shot was really cool and creative brother
I love the design of these. Its gnawing at me though that you would get better utility from them by adding some mass with lead filled pockets.
What a magnificent work! I love watching his videos. What happiness. A hello from Belgium. . .
magic moments .... on Diresta ...!
Great tool Jimy! I love it
Nice quick build with recycled materials. lucky bugger to get one also.
love the video and the your pod cast MOVING IT cant wait to see the set up in the new shop
Ali Cetin *making it, but close enough : )
1 hour of DiResta in the shop working and 5 hours dusting all the clothes :)
Nice work Jimmy
hey, jimmy
I have been following you since you had only 20k subs .I remember first time watching your videos and how I freaked out whenever your fingers are so close to the cutter , now i'm like hell yeaaah 😂🙌
it makes me really happy seeing your channel grow. your work is a piece of art and you deserve more and more !
God bless you ❤
I had a chicken nugget add before this, today is a good day
Did you also not have to use your AK?
I used mine.
His and Hers mallets? Cool easy straightforward design, love it!
The only thing I ever got for free was the clap. Nice job Jimmy, as always. Just kidding about the clap.
Nice work as always! It's awesome watching you work. You're a true artist and craftsman.
So cool!!!! I want to go build one now!!!
I have to say as a tinker/maker I really enjoy your video. Not sure why you get so much hate, though I guess people that have not much skill just can't appreciate what other do.
Great job Jimmy!
Awesome work again Jimster
really nice mallets! i like the brass ends...but bro.u should make a face shield or get one for when ur woodturning ..it wood suck if one of those mallet heads blew up in ur face or came flying off..had to mention that cuz that happened a few times to me b4 and i was glad i had a shield over my face. keep inspiring
Loving the saw go pro shots
I like the new shop man
I love that table lathe.
I just pulled my lathe back out this week. I think a big fat barrel mallet in white oak is gonna have to happen now. 👍🏽
I love Filson gear. I have been in that Manhattan store a few times already.
Love to watch you work, only thing I will never be able to hammer that fast !
Awesome. My brother used to work in that firehouse. Engine 33 Ladder 9 FDNY.
One of your best yet keep up the great work.
CrashOveride It's hard to rank them.
my wife asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up. I said Jimmy diresta. I'm 40ish so ..... you doing you, Is what I'm Striving for. I hope to be tommy holdaway. The true version of my self not a half truth to make others happy. thanks for everything. seriously.
Beautiful... excellent work!
Felicitaciones Jimmy, muy lindo tu trabajo, Tenes que venir a la la Argentina.
Is it not easy to get the tool caught in the handle pocket when turning?
Max Maker spinning fast !
Real nice! Joan, my wife, says hi.
That was beautiful Jimmy, thanks.
Wow man that is cool
Ein echt Tolles Video da möchte man gleich Drechseln super Daumen hoch
Looking awesome Jimmy! That's actually a project I want to try this summer!
I think you served the 1 million you always do good thank you for inspiring me how to make other things too :)
Love me some white oak. Nice mallets Jimmy!
Great work, and nice new watch ⌚😁
Jimmy Diresta number one 👍
A Little disappointed that you didnt reverse carve the handles out on the bandsaw, Jimmy. You get all these fancy-schmancy tools and its like you forget where you came from ;)
Great pleasure from watching this video!
Glad to see you used Tong oil for the personal ones and not wipe-on poly.
The Metal Butcher I never got to try wipe on poly but it seems so easy to use!
Can't screw up an oil finish though! Super easy! The resson I say that, is because I hate tool handles with "plasticky" finishes. They don't feel nice and make for wicked fast blisters.
very cool brand pre roll integration. I have never seen a advertiser create channel specific content. congrats on fending off Admageddon
Awesome event... Wish I could have gone!
i don't think DIRESTA deserves 1M SUBSCRIBERS I THINK HE DESERVES AT LEAST 3M SUBSCRIBERS BECAUSE HIS WORK IS SO GREAT EVENTUALLY HE WILL GET MORE MAYBE MORE THAN 3M SUBSCRIBERS .... LOVE YOU MAN KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND I WILL SEE MORE OF YOUR VIDEOS IN MY NOTIFICATIONS
Greetings from Argentina, I'm your fan.

wow Jimmy great work great wood am fan the your videos tank
Great video, as always!!!
Awesome work Jimmy! I really want to make a version that's like 2 inches big
Nicely done sir!
Beautiful work!
Really cool Jimmy!
Hey Jimmy. Do the brass rings serve a functional purpose or are they just for show? They're such a great look, but I've always wondered if they were originally used for more than just decoration
Usually there to contain the splitting, except each end should protrude beyond the rings so it splits over. These mallets aren't made for use, they're made.for decoration
beautiful
beautiful mallet Jimmy I see you're still getting a lot of use out of that stripper pole lol great job my friend.
Awesome work as always
playing on the new lathe like a pro.. awesome
Sweet man, I was lucky enough to catch that IG Live giveaway! Keep killin it Yo!!
