By far your best video to date. All the comparisons between gear you produce are OK but this DIY is most appreciated and practical. Thanks
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the feedback!
Cool setup and results!
Have a good week!
Thanks, you too! Enjoy your shoots!
49 cents? Now let's see how I buy a close focusing lens, a slider, a piece of wood, tripod mounts for that price. 😄 But it surely looks great!
The question is, do you already own a lot of those things. That is when this makes sense.
@@TheSlantedLens Agreed
Hi Jay, smart device. I will add it to my arsenal. Thank´s a lot!
Enjoy working with it. It's a lot of fun!
Love it! Great solution
Thank you! Cheers! Have a great week!
Nice video, looks amazing. 😊
Thank you. Appreciate you support!
fantastic idea! thanks for sharing!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
Cool idea, thanks!
Glad you like it! Have fun applying it!
Interesting tips. Thanks for sharing
No problem! Thanks for watching!
Great idea, I love it! I might try this with my tiny DJI Pocket 2!
You should! Let us know how it goes!
Thanks so much I don't have a motorized rig but I think I can do this with what I have! This is great!
Yes you can! Let us know how it goes!
Great video and tip!
Glad you liked it! Appreciate your comment!
Great idea! Probably using a smaller camera like an Insta 360 or similar would allow to fit into tight places like the Laowa does
That was a great solution. Even if you had to hire a slider, it's still very budget friendly in comparison. I think that more of this 'problem solving on a budget' content would be extremely helpful. Really appreciated this one, thank you
You are welcome. Glad you found it valuable!
Genius Thnxs For making One.
My pleasure! Glad you liked it!
This is an awesome video. I love the little Mexican horn clips between takes. Kitschy and hilarious. 🇲🇽
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for your comment!
This is a great little idea. THANK YOU for sharing. I've built a few of my own little DIY things. This is perfect. For me, I think I'll try it on a piece of aluminum square tubing.
The square tubing is a great idea!
@@TheSlantedLens Much appreciated for the reply.
fantastic idea - ive seen some taking advantage of camera body stabilisation and lens stabilisatioin and doing it hand held at 60+ fps and slowing down for even smoother - loving also your set styling with the food ingrediants that looks like a good few hours of work alone
Appreciate that. Thanks for your comment!
There are a ton of DIY slider videos out there, but I'd be interested to see what you can come up with for one.
That's a great idea. We will brainstorm on that one!
Nice video, another good option is the Moza sly pod.
That is an interesting thought. We will check that out.
I'd love to see videos on styling your sets! Like in this one it'd be fun to see your process on where to put things, what you sprayed everything with to get the water drops, the surface you chose and where you placed your lighting.
Great suggestion. We will see what we can do!
🤯🔥🔥👍🏿 would love to see your take on a diy 360 camera rig...!
That's an interesting thought. We will brainstorm on that one!
@@TheSlantedLens 🤞🏿🤞🏿🤞🏿
I really love the idea and I’ll give it a try but I’ll use other slider instead of my motorized cause I feel that slider is suffering a lot 😅
Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment!
Scale that up and use it to go over and around people, cars, and more. Scale it down for Macro. Very creative presentation. Thanks!
Those would be fun to try as well. Thanks for your comment!
Yum! 'Looks like it's going to be Mexican food for lunch today. 🌮🌯
Sounds great to me! Enjoy your salsa!
All that gear for 49 cents? Wow!
LOL, that would be great, wouldn't it!
You, sir, are a genius. I'm going to try this. Maybe I, too can romance into some salsa! Arrrriba!
Go for it! It was fun to do!
The thing interesthing about probe lense is the compact size, it can get inside small place where normal camera wouldn’t be able to get. Not a slider😅
Small places and unique angles. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
@TheSlantedLens To heck with sliding a camera around- screw a serving tray onto the board, and instead of "pass the potatoes" guests can have their phone tell the tray to slide it over to them!
Thanks for watching and keep on clickin!
l9ve it!!
Thank you. Have fun experimenting!
hahaha great!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
Did you really say "acrossed"? 🤔😂
Nice work though. 😁
Very possible. Thanks for watching!
I would utilize the spine AND counterweight regardless.
It's always better to have a balance in life.
yin-yang.
Totally agree. Thanks for watching!
I hate to be critical so I hope this feedback is taken in the constructive spirit it is given but I think a DIY slider video would have been more useful to more people. To achieve this (great) result there is a pretty steep barrier to entry. I feel like people who've sprung for expensive sliders would probably sooner rent a probe lens than jerry rigging something.
Maybe, maybe not. Every person will have their own approach.
Sorry, it's not a DIY probe lens. It's just a slider solution but the tamron zoom won't replicate a real probe lens.
It solves the same need. Keep on clickin!
@@TheSlantedLens completely different lens and results, but if it's good enough for you
I am underwhelmingly impressed ... 49ct for a piece of wood ... but it doesn't take into account that I have to have a slider and assembly material ready for a few extra dollars. is this diy project comparable to a probe lens ... not in the least ... i can't get into narrow cavities or any macro photo situations. All in all, it is a slider extension ... a construction that would save the expensive slider, a mirror or lens construction that is macro-compatible and does something similar to a probe lens, that would be great, this is not it.
The concept is simple and you can put a macro lens on it. It is not perfect, but also not $1800.
Or you can just get a slypod!
That is another great tool!
Why are probe lenses so expensive in the first place?! It's like manufacturers make them so expensive solely to profit off them... You are paying over 1,000 EUR or over 5,000 EUR for extremely premium ones, all for a lens that cost less than 200, MAYBE up to 400 EUR to manufacture... That's over 640% profit margin or over 2,000% for the ''premium'' ones - Let that sink in! TWO THOUSAND PERCENT increase in cost over the manufacturing cost! TWO THOUSAND PERCENT of PURE SHAMELESS PROFIT! Usually manufacturers, regardless of the market, whether it's technology, food, materials or even cooking utensils, whatever it is, manufacturers always have the 40%-80% business rule for profit gain. Nobody ever boosts the price of their product more than 80% profit margin! The only exceptions on the top of my head would be shameless, hipster companies like Apple, Leica, Supreme, Rolex and other similar ''Look at me!'' brands, who can socially afford to boost their prices exclusively and solely focusing on profit gain before all. I mean, I have over 60,000 EUR worth of camera equipment in my house at the moment and I am pretty well off financially, I am a large used car business owner... Money is really not an issue but there is just no way I am paying 2,000 to 5,000 EUR for something that cost 200-300 EUR to make. For 4-5,000 EUR, I could probably have one of the manufacturers make a custom made probe lens just for me and my cameras... People nowadays spend money mindlessly and that supports shameless consumer grade product companies like Apple or Leica grow at an unreal rate...
Some good things to think about.
hi, while this is creative, is not just cents, you got a 900$ equipment, not easy to get by today.
Easier for someone who already has many of the gear items listed.
@@TheSlantedLens Allright, is all good. Video dint encourage me that's all.
Rent the loooooooooooong lens…..
