I used to replay this game as a grade schooler on my gameboy, then in an emulator from high school till now that I'm working.. This game is timeless to me. I just have this on bg while I work, and it still brings me all of the good vibes just listening to the bgm and sound effects.

I play apex legends, call of duty, Bioshock, new Pokémon games, i can’t think of other games i play aha. i just wish today, they’d make older games/devices make a come back.

If they can do all that, I’m sure they can port this game. Also, there’s a lot more people who’d be willing to buy a collection of older games on the Switch than you think

I would play this game from sun up to sundown as a tween. It engaged me so much I barely ate. It was one of the first games I was genuinely addicted to. After that it was Dragon Age: Origins, Black Ops II, and Grand Theft Auto V.

I overtrained my starter Torchic in the emulator of this game, and I used BURNKICK (Torchic's nickname) at level 13 while fighting May's level 5 Mudkip.🤣
It's not an opinion when it's true. Objectively speaking what made the gen 1-3 games stood out more are their grounded storyline where every part of their narrative is logical and not have anything too wacky. Gen 1&2 red and gold were basically simple kids testing out their strength to be the best trainer while facing up against a threatening team of criminals along the way of the journey with the help of some friends and rivals. Gen 3 was basically just the same thing only the thugs motivations were reasonably ideal for themselves though it was out of pure greed, the leaders of the organizations accidentally steal the wrong orbs and almost destroyed the world because their self recklessness. Although I prefer the original storyline on Ruby & Sapphire because there were things that made more sense it fitted better like an example the trainer battling Kyogre and Groudon him/her self cuz there was no reasonable explanation why Rayquaza has to essentially show up when the two are in conflict. On emerald the player has to wake Rayquaza up just for the sake of it due to him being in the game's cover art. Steven was a lot better to battle as champion because fighting two water types in the Elite Four was pretty nerve-wracking and it also made sense for him to be champion cuz when you first met him; he could tell that you are going to be a strong trainer like he is which is exactly why he allowed you to fight the legendary all on your own.

There are already Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby games in the DS platforms. Those are probably the versions they'll port to the Switch.
