4:12 The cloning glitch in the Battle Tower can be tweaked to make it easier for item duplication. Instead of cloning the Pokémon along with the item, you can just duplicate the item. All you have to do is essentially the same thing with the item as you do with the Pokémon. Just give the Pokémon in the PC the items you want to clone, exit and save, withdraw the items, then speak to the lady. Reset and there you go, duplicated items without duplicating the Pokémon itself. It’ll save a lot of time when you decide to release the Pokémon you cloned. You’ll be able to just clone the items without cloning Pokémon.
The game isn't set up to handle negative HP, so when it goes to -1, it wraps around to 65535. When you take damage it slooooooowly drops back to your actual maximum. The reason for the wraparound requires some understanding of computer science, but the gist of it is that negative numbers and very large positive numbers look the same in binary and it's up to the program to decide whether this number is allowed to be negative or not. (The term is "integer underflow")
So with the dupe glitch you can clone entire boxes worth of items without making excess clones. The link battle lady also saves your current bag so using this, give items to your pokemon in the PC, save the game, take the items back, do the dupe, go back to the PC and take your cloned items.
Missed the mail glitch in ruby/sapphire. By using thief on your own mail-holding pokemon in a double battle you can equip more than 6 slots of mail on your party. This lets you duplicate items even in ruby/sapphire. It also causes very minor tile corruption in the overworld, but nothing gamebreaking. In firered/leafgreen and emerald you can no longer use thief to steal mail. In fact, most methods to steal mail were patched, so trick or covet won't work either. The only way in those games to do the mail glitch is to use another glitch involving knock-off + recycle to override your held mail. Sadly the move recycle is completely unavailable in pokemon emerald as only porygon and mr mime learn it. (maybe you can use the move sketch to get it from a trainer or battle frontier pokemon in emerald, but since you have glitzer popping and the dupe glitch in emerald already you don't really need the mail glitch). Anyway, in firered and leafgreen the mail glitch has a different effect compared to ruby/sapphire. In fr/lg you can also use it to duplicate items, but additionally, instead of causing minor tile corruption, it messes with the data in the boxes. This allows you to use arbitrary code execution in fr/lg. With this you can kinda do anything, if somebody bothered to write a code for it (the codes are input by using the names of your boxes). For example get ho-oh/lugia/deoxys events.
4:00 the worker probably no longer is recognized as the NPC ID thats assigned to move in the script after changing maps. I'd have to look at the script to be sure but when you enter a new map the NPCs are loaded again, and so the game can't find the NPC to move. You can still talk to the worker though because it doesn't need to reference the NPC ID, just the script attached to the NPC. My guess for the text box moving up is that the slide out animation just moves the entire canvas for UI text. I bet if you had the menu open that would slide back too. This was a well-made glitch video because you tested a lot of questions I had about what you could do while in the glitched state. You didn't just show us how to get into the glitch.
It’s worth noting that an extension of the Emerald Cloning Glitch is you can also take items from Pokemon in other boxes and these will also be duplicated, being held by the boxed Pokemon and also in your bag (meaning you can mass duplicate items such as rare candies). This is because the game saves the Pokémon in the player's party along with other data such as planted berries and Day Care Pokémon, but not those in the PC, so anything you interact with in the PC will remain. I just wanted to mention this as few videos mention this detail.

For the Dewford Gym sand animation glitch, it's probably not actually a glitch at all. The animation of footprints in sand supersedes all other visual data on a tile, so the footprints would be placed on top of the gym wall itself, not on the sand with the gym wall on top of it. Gotta ask, with the catching trainer pokemon glitch, after KO'ing the Latios, can you still encounter/capture it again (equally, being able to set the glitch up as many times as you wish) as i think Gen3 still had the rules that a KO'd legendary/roaming was dead for good but i could be wrong.
good question, no you wouldn’t be able to encounter them again. Legendaries only started respawning in gen 4 so I guess you would have to pick whether you want the latios or a trainer’s pokemon. I probably should’ve mentioned it in the video, but I forgot they don’t respawn in the older games

Turns out most of what needs to be saved is data in the pc which they learned they could cut on save times by skipping. I guess that prototype was in front of us all along.
26:36 i assume that's due to an overflow. you know of 256 being an overflow but other numbers can act like that, the one I think being used as the maximum of a 16-bit signed integer, being 32,767. unsigned it'd be 65,535 but for some reason damage must have included calcs for negative numbers?
I don't think the 256 thing is coincidental. It's also the total number of possible combinations when writing binary code. The 256th one would be the reset point, as it would be "00000000", which doesn't match up to any character.
Just for accuracy's sake: 255 is the maximum value of an 8-bit (1 byte) unsigned integer, and thus there are 256 (0 - 255) discrete values that can be represented by an 8-bit binary value. When an 8-bit value 0b11111111 (255) is increased by 1, it would require 9-bits minimum to accurately represent the new number 256. However, the value into which the devs put the value for what we're selling is likely only a single byte. Therefore, selling 256 (0b100000000) items results in the top bit not being read, and the game therefore sees 0. This is called integer overflow.

However, the value into which the devs put the value for what we're selling is likely only a single byte. Therefore, selling 256 (0b100000000) items results in the top bit not being read, and the game therefore sees 0. This is called integer overflow.
@renatatostada3318 so in my mind, after 255, it would read "00000000", which is the same as the begining value which the system would read it as.
@renatatostada3318 I know that's literally what you just said, I'm just trying to simplify it for myself. 🙂
Can the insta kill happen when in a pokemon battle with a player? With their pokemon holding focus sash?
Surprised nobody has mentioned AbsolBlogsPokemon, he used that Pomeg glitch to train a pokemon inside an egg to level 100 before hatching it lol

Can you make a video again on how to get citra on laptop as the original citra website got shut down?
honestly just gotta find an internet archive or some other website that offers it for download. Then just follow the rest of the steps. Sorry, I don't think I'll be making another video on it. Nintendo took Citra down for a reason, so I'm just glad they didn't completely take my video down (yet....)
@CWillyHD k
That footprints guy just disappeared....wtf was that

If you're interested in the battling with an egg glitch, AbsolBlogsPokemon gets a Pokemon in an egg to level 100 before it hatches!

Gen 3 we’re broken mess of games held together by glue and water
At least they aren’t as bad as the Gen 1 games
@@Mimikyu_Lov3r Gen 3 is far worse, at least Gen 1 is fun
@@trapez77genwan
So rare for gen 1 to have anything visibly bugged unless you force it, you're right they're much more buggy than gen 3 but this "gen 1 being horribly buggy" is blown so out of proportion @@Mimikyu_Lov3r
@@trapez77gen 3 are the best games alongside gen 4, you must be trolling or rage baiting
okay but the mart worker is a woman or a man
