Thanks for sharing, I also like the possibility to use a screen that is part of the printer itself.

Great Video thanks for sharing! I have a CR10S Pro , and also bought a Creality Sonic Pad. Do you know if is possible to make the Sonic Pad work with CR10S Pro V1?? Thanks again

i have bltouch mount on my cr-10s pro, the rimwar support this?I'm completely inexperienced with the firmware, but I have a practically unused CR 10 S Pro. Have you noticed any improvements with this update?

Thanks for this very interesting video!
I've upgrade my CR10s Pro and bought the same screen, but what ever is the power supply I put (wnet up to 3A), my Pi 3+ keeps crying that it hasn't enough power... As if the screen was draining too much current.
However, there is no way to power the screen seperetly... I was wondering if you had the same issue?

i ran both pi 3b+ and pi4 using the same method with the lm2596 set to 5.1 volts and they all ran fine.
maybe try a different cable from the lm2596 to the pi, one with a thicker wire.

I have a V2 with a 2.4 mainboard from 2018-8-13 but klipper is never able to communicate with the board. I have re flashed it 4 times and recompiled always the klipper firmware but no success. Looks like you have the silent mainboard but my was the modell before. Does anyone has install it successfull with the old version?

Oh man ive been looking to do this upgrade to my CR10 for ages now and scared to do it because i couldnt figure out what to do for the cr10s peo since it seemed no one had this printer.
Based on the comment section here you kept the original MCB ( I'm runing a 10s pro v1 so i might do that just for the extra headroom ),and was wondering why you did?

the only thing i swapped out was the original screen, i kept everything else stock and added the new screen with a pi.
i was originally running them all with the pi plugged in to the usb port and the dgus_reloaded firmware for basic functionality on the stock screen but i wanted to use klipper screen so this was the way i went about it.
the reason i moved the mainboard over was just so i could have the usb plug within the printer enclosure to keep everything tidy and i dont use the microsd on the printer to load gcode i do it all through the klipper web ui so this was the logical way to set the printer up for me.

Just added the tft to my Christmas list to see if this is my Christmas project or not haha. I've got an old pi3B laying around as well as a pi4 and some bucky boards as I wanted to also swap the fans for noctua fans so the printer runs quieter. This will make for a great project and way to update and get some more life out of my cr10!
Thanks for the video and the files for the mounting board!

Have you tried desuuuu clipper firmware for cr-10s pro/max? it is possible to leave the stock lcd...

yes i was running the dgus variant before i decided to upgrade to klipperscreen, i even updated the klipper version used with the dgus but it was still fairly primitive compared to klipperscreen.
we tried to get the klipper developers to add dgus support to klipper but they seemed uninterested.

Is your Klipper setup running on a CR10s Pro V1 or V2? I have a V1 with a Creality 3D V2.4 mainboard. I can't find a printer.cfg file for the CR10s Pro V1. Will the V2 .cfg files work? I have an inductive sensor, and would rather keep it instead of switching to a BLTouch.

    • @DnG-Crafts
      @DnG-Crafts  7 місяців тому +1

      mines a v2
i dont know if the v2 config will work for the v1 but you could use it as a base to build a custom cfg for your specific hardware.
the pins and settings for the steppers are probably all the same but you would need to look into how to setup the config for the inductive sensor.

Thank you. If anyone out there has a CR10s Pro V1 printer.cfg file that deals with an inductive sensor they can share, it would be much appreciated.

Hey, I got some more questions :)
    1) Can you please share printer.cfg?
    2) Did you have to flash something onto the main board? (using make and make flash in ~/klipper) ?

    • @ramisamuelson6941

Update about #2: I had a problem where I could not connect to the MCU from klipper (and could not flash either).
The solution was to download the hex file from rpi to my PC, connect the USB cable of the mainboard to my PC, then flashing it manually using XLoader.
After flashing was successful, connecting the mainboard USB cable to rpi made all work.
I'm writing this just in case it might help someone :)

@@ramisamuelson6941 yes i have had that with some mcu's where the first flash required me to use a laptop and directly flash the compiled file, after that i could update the mcu from the pi.

so just by plugging into the mainboard with usb, the pi takes over? im looking at doing klipper with my old laptop i have here on my cr-x

    • @DnG-Crafts
      @DnG-Crafts  8 місяців тому

once you flash a small firmware file to the cr-x mainboard the pi takes over with klipper on it.
there are lots of guides on how to setup klipper that should get you up and running.
my stock cr-x printer.cfg file for klipper is here

if you have never used a metal build plate you will need to make sure you select the option for the magnetic base to be included.
