  • In this video, I remove the front panel from my Electrolux dryer. During a drying cycle, my lint trap came out and was rolling around with the clothes. I heard some clunking and then a loud squeal. Thankfully, I was able to stop it before any damage was done. The squeal was caused by the motor being stopped by a sock! You'll see in the video that sometimes the easiest fix, is in fact the easiest fix.

Thanks, that was helpful. We ended up just taking the plastic piece off that the lint trap drops into, and didn't have to take off the top or front of the dryer. Then we were able to take a video to see what was in the fan, and pull it out. There were a couple of items in there -- a sock, and some unidentifiable fabric piece that was likely already in there. Anyways, now that they're removed, everything is back to normal.

Thank you for your video! I didn’t end up needing to disassemble. Using a kid’s broom stick to add leverage to pop out the stick sock worked. Got that tip from your video.

I use a vacuum and an old drain hose, which bends right into the fan and then vacuums it out. I use my shop vac, which is powerful. I tell my wife if you see any vibration lmk, she does. I also bought the newer lint filter; it is worse than the original. -save your money and just vacuum it out.

It's a known problem on this model of dryers. Some clothe get caught in the space between filter and body. Normally, this space is dedicated to install a rack to dry shoes. On yours, the caps are missing and your clothes can cause the filter to come out.

That vent is a fire hazard. You need to change it quickly. The damage it is causing to your dryer is not good

Hey! Yeah I thought it was weird too. Must be for things like the “wrinkle care”, must kinda steam the clothes.

i have this same dryer (gas version), there are two or three dryer cycles that include steam functionality hence the water supply.
