Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am a senior citizen that is under quarantine with a 13 year old dryer with a bad bearing. The noise was horrible. I watched your video to diagnose the problem. Then I ordered the part which arrived in a few days. It took me two (2) hours from start to finish, including time to watch the video again before I started. The hardest part was treading the new plate. I actually cornered a worker in the neighborhood to help. He used a drill with a square bit on it and threaded the new plate with the old screw. I also used painters tape to hold the plate on the back when I attached the new bearing assembly; my arms aren't long enough to reach the back of the dryer while inserting the screw to the inside of the drum. All fixed and very quiet.
How the hell did the common man fix stuff before youtube?
Thanks for this helpful video. It saved me time and money. 👍
Just finished installing mine and it was easier than expected. Follow the steps and everything will work out perfectly. Thank you very much for sharing this How To video, I appreciate it a lot
You are welcome! Glad you were able to fix your issue! If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
Thank you for this video!! I have a stackable front loading dryer that I had to replace the glide on. We could not for the life of us figure out how to remove the 2-part front panel, the bottom section was mystifying us for hours. You are a life saver!!
Thank you so much! This clip was Exactly what I needed. The directions were amazing. Step by step, it was all as you described it would be. No surprises. You saved me hundreds of dollars in repair fees and taught me some new skills! Thanks again.
Seriously. What a great video. I was getting crazy grinding metal sounds from my Frigidaire dryer. Ordered the kit from amazon for about $23 ( before I saw their video otherwise I would have ordered it from them ), followed their video and viola, my dryer is working perfectly and QUIETLY... An easy fix and it also made me realize how simple dryers are. Thank you so much AppliancePartsPros.
Isnt the point to order the parts from them not amazon lol?!
@@scottttttttttttttttttt I honestly would have, but I’d already ordered the kit and had it in my possession. Oh, and 7 months in and it still works perfectly...😊
Excellent! It's like I had a coach by my side. Thank you!
Best repair video I’ve seen on UA-cam! Just replaced my dryers bearings and this was super helpful. Thanks!!!
You're welcome!
Excellent, clear and easy to follow. Husband and I (both total noobies) fixed our squeaky dryer in a couple of hours, without killing each other at all! Thank you for taking the time to make this video!
Leah Marchesani oh wow LOL! I’m so glad to hear your experience was good because I am about to tackle the same problem with my boyfriend ha ha ha ha.!
This is great. I watched the video, ordered the kit and it showed up the next morning. The repair went pretty smoothly and now I have a quiet dryer. Thanks!
Glad the video helped you get the dryer fixed!
Very helpful video! It may be 7 yrs old, but my Frigidaire had the exact same drum kit. My bearing lube dries up recently and the drum's ball shaft ate away into the plastic housing, eventually grinding into the metal bracket. Now she's good as new! Saved me $800!
One of the best repair vids I have seen. Well done!
You can’t find too much helpful videos like this one on the Internet!
Watching the video made replacement straight forward. Took about an hour and a half. Thank you for fast delivery of parts and great video
Glad the video helped you get the dryer fixed!
Awesome video! A lifesaver. Describes the exact sequence to dismantle and repair the rear drum bearing. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks so much.
You helped me tremendously! Thank you for a clear understanding of this job.
Thank you for the instructional video! Was able to fix my dryer by following step by step!
I found this to be a very helpful demonstration for all intended purposes. Extremely simplified and informative. Great Job. Thanks
+kevin harlan Thansk, glad the video helped you get the dryer fixed!
The new big bearing plate I installed today, 12/16/2017, came with machine threaded screws and the plate was pre-threaded. Things have changed a little and any new viewer should look at their new parts. Don’t ruin the new plate by trying to use the old screws or by making new threads. The advice given in the video was great advice when it was made but the new parts are different. Look at the new parts and be careful to use the new machine threaded screws and the pre-threaded holes in the plate. Many thanks for this wonderful video.
You're welcome! I'm glad to hear our video helped you out. Thanks for that tip!
My wife and I just used your page to fix our dryer. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!!!!!!
Awesome, glad the video helped you get the dryer fixed!
Great instructional video! Straightforward step by step repair guidance! THANK YOU!
Finally, I found a video that worked on my dryer. Outstanding!
Glad we could help!
This video helped get the squeak out of the dryer. Of the few I sampled this was the best. I will say it helps to have 2 people, the guy in the video is a Gerfalcon of Dryer Repair!
Thanks, glad the video helped you get the dryer fixed!
Straight ahead instructions. Clear, simple and effective. Thank you!
Glad the video helped you get the dryer up and running!
Great video! Thanks for sharing. I was able to replace the bearing myself. You saved me an expensive call to the repairman.
Thanks! We're glad we could help you with your repair.
I did it! Ran into a couple of problems because I have a stacked washer and dryer. I rewatched the video about 25 times and figured everything out.
Forgot to put that front guide part on and was trying to figure out why the drum was sagging and making a thumping sound each rotation, thanks
Thank you, great video. Cutting the new threads was no joke. Be careful not to strip the screws.
Bruce Coy It looks like you Referred to this video recently… It says four days ago. I see you some other comments that say the kit was now pre-threaded and not to use old screws. We have the stackable laundry center. It sounds like for you that it was not pre-threaded. I guess we will find out when we get the kit later today...fingers crossed.
thank you so much ..this video help me get it done and that is my first time dealing with dryers ...thanks
You're welcome!
Thanks! Great video, you presented everything so clear and the best - when you attached your camera to the drum showing how ti install the ball :) Impressive.
Glad the video helped you out!
Best video about dryer's bearing so far
Thanks for the straight forward, easy to follow video.
You're welcome.
Don't know if you guys will see this but thanks for the video. I didn't learn much from my father in terms of being a handy man so this video is really dumbed down for people like me and it makes life so much easier. I've come back to this video several times to fix my dryer 👍
Glad to hear you were able to fix your dryer. If we can help you with anything in the future please let us know and we will be more than happy to help you out.
Exactly what I needed for my Frigidaire EuroDesign BCEQ2152ES0. Thanks a lot.
GREAT VIDEO! I like that you are detailed and logical in your presentation. I especially like that you added the tips of pre-threading the ball-hitch unit and lubing the grounding-ball-bearing to hold it in place...(I am sure i would have spent 12 minutes looking for the ball on the floor or in the unit....THANKS!)
You're welcome! Happy to help.

Great video. Thanks for the clear instructions. Exactly my problem, and this video saved me
Glad the video helped you get the dryer fixed!
Excellent video thank you. The only thing I did different having short arms I taped the ball in place. Made it easy to put the three screws in
You are welcome! Glad you were able to complete your repair. If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.

Excellent job of explaining how to do this tark
Wow Dude..., what a Gr8 Video. Fantastic Job. Thx a Ton for the Post.
THANKS for posting this!
Glad the video helped you out!
Thanks!👍
I’ve got to order the kit and want to go ahead and replace the belt while I have it apart.
As a Preventive Maintenance job, should I lube drum roller axles and also the belt pulley axles/bearings?
Should I use the lubricant included or white lithium grease?
Thank you, great instructional!
Glad the video helped you out!
Great video, thank you!
Thanks so much for this great guide!!!!
You're welcome!
Simple to do really. The video will help you get it done
Thank you! This was AWESOME.
Thanks so much. Helped me and my question right away
Matt, I have a Frigidaire Gas Dryer FSG747GES1, with a drum belt with duel/two idler (pulleys) spring loaded. How do I safely/easily unload these two pulleys to remove and install a new brum belt? Thanks you so much for your indepth instructional videos.
Another question. Righ now I can't afford a repair kit so Can I use Red "N" Tacky Grease to lube the drum rear bearing after a major clean up?
Thanks for your video. It helped me fix my dryer
Thank you for your help , you did a great job and you did not sound like a slow motion tape !!
Glad the video helped you get the dryer fixed!
👍
Thanks! I do have a question.
I have an older FDE216RES1. Not quite the same but you got me through it!
At 4:32 you took off the bracket support. The support on mine does NOT have a lip on it so the bracket doesn’t actually support the drum.
The front panel slides into the drum for support. I looked on your website but don’t see anything like it.
Can your people let me know the correct part for this model?
Thanks again!
Excellent video!
+VIInSTL Glad the video helped you out!
At 11:55 on the video you are screwing in the front support or bracket? What is the part number for that or proper name? Thanks,
No more squeaky dryer!!!! Great video. Thanks!!!
You're welcome!
I'm having trouble with my dryer! And I have assembled most of it but I can't seem to put the guide back on! How can I get this fixed?
Great video, thanks
is it pretty common for the front tub guide to basically not tighten back up because the screw is not big enough or maybe stripped out or something?
Do you have the part number for the drum support? Roughly at 11:30
Awesome Video , Very helpful .Thanks
Hi, thank you for sharing this.
best video ever. no surprises. thank you very much.
Ty made the job easy
Excellent video. Thank you.
You're welcome! Glad we could help!
Hello sir, thanks for the video. I have question, do you think this cause that the clothes gets trap in the front of the drum?
Was easy ! Thank you !
You're welcome! Glad to help.
My dryer squeaks no more! Thanks for the video...
Thanks for making this video
Hi there! Our dryer is squeeling and the drum will not turn, leading me to believe it's the drum bearing. How do I know if it is the rear one?

I know I got bad front bearings I am just wondering if I should do rear drum at same time?
Thank you so much it was very easy
Glad the video helped you get the dryer fixed up!
thank you so much your video was amazing and worked awesome 👌
What type of grease goes in the support bearing? I am replacing heating element on stackable dryer and my bearing is ok ,just want to lube it up while drum is off ! Thanks
I have a Frigidaire dryer that makes a rumbling noise after it runs for about 10 minutes. I bought a new bearing replacement kit but the bearing has a protrusion coming out of the end where it would come in contact with the ball bearing. My old bearing had an indent where the ball would rest. Is this a defective part?
Thank you very much, this video helped a lot to replace the bearing of the fridgedaire dryer. One quick question, at the end of it I noticed that small ball bearing seems to little out & to the side, may be because I have tightened those screws hard. Dryer works fine, but wondering if that is going to affect the speed of drum or break down the line. Appreciate any suggestions on it.
Untighten it,even out the assembly
My dryer is a Frigidaire of a slightly different model than this. After taking the drum out, I find there are two different kinds/colors of grease in the main bearing: a light grayish around the entire outside of the base of the shaft, and black on the big ball itself. Is that just degradation after years of runtime, or should I be concerned that I'm going to need to lubricate these two different places with two different greases?
Great instruction video. Thank you very much.
You're welcome!
Well done.....very interesting.
Kind regard
Thanks so much....
Thank you!
GREAT VIDEO!!! Should the belt be replaced while you have the dryer all apart? I would think if the bearing is worn out, the belt would be worn out as well.
+Hersh Johnson I do not think it would hurt to change it!
We decided to replace the belt for that exact reason. The old one didn't seem too worn, but for $10 for a new belt especially while the whole thing was torn apart we figured it was worth putting a new one in so we didn't need to take it apart again just for a belt.
Thanks guys that BB I forgot about wear to place it.
I have fixed my stackable washer dryer and replaced this part twice. Once because the ball joint assembly was gone and the second time was just for precaution since I had to disassemble it to clean it and to tighten up some screws. Anyhow, my question is, what in the hell is that small little bearing for! Does it have a purpose at all? I mean, it is not a grease hole so what does it do???? Great video by the way!
+Jaime Venegas Glad the video helped you get the dryer fixed! The bearing is like a spacer, it keeps the drum from sliding front to back while it is running.
Ah!!! Ok!!! Thanks! You know, I have a stackable washer/dryer and the dryer hangs a little from the front so the pads on the bottom don't actually touch the support frame located on the door. The washer works fine but I just noticed this now that I replaced the rear bearing kit and put it back together again. Should it be a concern? Thanks!
If the front support glides are worn it will cause the front of the drum to drop and you may have a gap that clothes can get pinched in.
AppliancePartsPros Is there any way I can replace that? Do they sell those parts or what? It is working fine but I know it should not be like that.
Yes you can there are a few versions of these so please go to our website and enter your appliance model number to view the parts breakdowns to be sure you get the correct part for your model.
After replacing all these parts I can not get the belt to re-align with the wear marks on the drum. It's off by 1/4-1/2 inch. When I ran a cycle it sounds like there are shoes in the dryer. Please help
If the drum is bouncing around I would check to make sure the ball is seated in the bearing properly.
Good video
Should I replace the belt and idle pulley at the same time as the drum bearing? Since I already have it apart?
You can replace the belt and pulley while it's apart if you want and if it looks worn. If you have any questions or if you need additional help with the repair outside of what's demonstrated in the video, you can give us a call at 1-877-477-7278 or you can chat us at our website: www.appliancepartspros.com/. When someone has specific questions, we direct them to call us because a single part can be compatible with hundreds of different appliances. We film the part on a single appliance model to serve as an example of the repair, but not all information will apply uniformly to all the models that this part may fit. We’re here to help 7 days a week.
AppliancePartsPros 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 💯
The number on the outside of the technician envelope inside the dryer is not listed in your parts list for this video although I use this video to remove everything. 134682100 is what is printed on the envelope, is that not the dryer model maybe it's something else.
my Kenmore laundry center had some tremendous squeezing, just today it made a big thud and the drum locked, now I can't spin the drum by hand or electrically. do you think the bearing count still be the issue, thanks:)
Assuming it is the style like the video. If it was squeaking for a long time the ball may have been cut off, without being supported the back half of the drum fell.
my dryer drum hangs a little downward causing a gap between the drum and front panel at bottom and sometimes getting clothes stuck in gap. Will this bearing kit straighten out the drum and fix the gap?
I'm not a professional repairman, but I would assume that a worn rear bearing would widen the gap at the top, in the front of your dryer. That nylon guide in the front top would be my best guess. Hope this helps.
This and the front felt seals are the most common cause of that. I would check the front and the rear to be sure the tub is sitting correctly.
Is there a part number for the plastic drum support you remove at 4:35? Mine doesn't hook under the drum like that, and I can't tell if it's broken, or just different. Naturally it's not on any of the parts diagrams I can find.
I also need a replacement for this part! Diagrams and countless search term combinations have gotten me nowhere. Not having this part is the only thing keeping me from having a functioning dryer again.
It is not sold a a part, you can run without it!
It is not sold a a part, you can run without it!
Hi: Is this procedure more or less the same with the gas model?
Yes, I just replaced my squeaky drum bearing last night and I have a gas dryer. You just obviously don't detach the gas-line hose. You also have watch how far you move the dryer to get access to the back so you don't break the connection site for the gas line. Otherwise, procedure exactly the same.
where can i find the front support piece for the drum at 11:50 timestamp on your website? I replaced everything i needed to, but im just realizing that piece has snapped and needs replaced as well. thank you!!
What is your model number?
@@appliancepartspros it is FER231AS2
That white piece is actually not a part the manufacturer gives us a part number for. It's actually not required on the unit, it's something they put on at the factory for more support during shipment.
@@appliancepartspros oh ok, that actually makes sense. thank you for replying, I appreciate it so much!
very useful video. I'm getting a refund tomorrow and cancelling the delivery on monday. I'm gonna squirt some oil onto the bearing from the rear hole.
Well I bet that didn't work. The nylon cup that the bearing sits in wears down and then it is metal on metal. Properly replacing the bearing will allow it to be quiet for another 10+ years.
Well how'd that work out?
