Amazing!! My dryer was making the loudest noise ever and approx 4 yrs old. I watched your video and my husband agreed to try before we called someone to look at it. So glad we did and we’re able to fix it!! The amount of lint is insane and felt amazing to get rid of it! Thank you thank you! I can finally dry clothes while staying home or being inside without the noise getting to everyone!!

I was amazed how easy our dryer was to disassemble and clean, thanks to your tutorial! Like others, before calling the repair shop, gave it a shot to check the blower....30m later, amassed a basketball of lint and hair from the assembly. Yikes! Runs good as new again! Thank you!!

Thank you very much. You saved me a service call. I had already taken the back off when I found your video so I put my arm up the metal lint vent from the back and was able to reach the blower fan that way. There was a ton of lint just sitting under the fan. I then could even spin the fan with my fingers and wipe the lint off each blade. Now my dryer is quiet again. Thank you!

It works thanks! Some suggestion's you can remove the cover over the fan, @6:30 mins. It’s easy 3 screws, much easier to clean the fan blade. Also use wd40 to lube the suppporting wheels bearing

This! Thank you so much for the video! We have a 3 year old dryer making the same noise and not drying our clothes completely. Your instructions were very easy to follow. We had a lot of lint (no baby socks to my surprise haha!). After cleaning and reassembly, it is fully drying our clothes and the noise is gone. I was able to do this by myself in about 1.5 hours (I had a toddler to entertain as well). Thank you!

I have the same dryer, making the same noise, I watched your video, thanks, and surmised it was likely the same issue, (less the sock). Looked closely at the front of the disassembled machine on your video and due to the semi built in nature of my laundry room I decided there had to be another way, ie not taking it all apart. So I removed the plastic lint assembly, (4 screws), you can then see the blower with the aid of a flashlight, so I bent a piece of wire to fish the lint out of each individual vien, (about 2 cups worth), with the help of a custom made skinny vacuum cleaner hose, (paper towel cardboard tube). Worked like a charm, 30 minutes later, it was all back together, running quiet as new!

Thank you for the video tutorial! I was dreading having to do this but it turned out easier than expected and ended up with a melon sized ball of lint and dryer has quieted back down. I will say getting the bulkhead and drum back together was a little bit of a challenge and required some help.
I "upgraded" the lint filter to the new clamshell design a few years back but seems lint still sneaks by and loads up the blower just not nearly as quickly as the old flat design.
    Thanks again!

I was able to pull out the lint trap/filter and see the blower fins. I could see lint in the bottom of the fins. Anyone with this style washer - try this fix! I thought for sure the awful noise my dryer was making was something super serious towards the back of the machine. Decided to clean out this blower fan since there wasn't anything to lose. Running perfectly after removing about 4 cups of lint. I chose not to remove all the panels and instead used a long, flexible little grabber tool and patiently removed the lint between each blade.

I got the new model and it looks like they solved the lint screen issues. So far so good. They are a real pain to take apart just to clean the blower. Scott,
I have a 16 year old Electrolux Frigidaire unit I have done multible repairs on watching your videos. I am having an issue I can not seem to diagnose. After unit is running and fires up(gas), after about 90 seconds it starts to make a faint rumbling sound which progressively gets louder until it is real loud. Drum spins and make no noise after I shut unit off. Heats and dries the clothes no problem. I checked the blower and it was free and clear/clean. When unit is off the drum spins and no noise. Any suggestions?

I’ve seen that when the gas coils are starting to fail.
      They’re pretty cheap👍

Hi -- updating my former comment. I never was able to get the top to fully come off (when I pushed up on the tab of the blue wire thingy -- it snapped off) so I kept it connected and placed it ontop of the dryer as best I could. Long story short (needing to order vampliers in order to release some REALLY tight screws in order to take the bulkhead off) I got it off and removed lots of lint as you said. NOW - I am having LOTS of trouble putting it back -- I think this is a 2 person rather than 1 person job. The barrel is collapsing on me and I can't get the bulkhead in alignment to screw it back together. Any advice? Thanks.

Any suggestions as to why after putting the dryer back together why the light won't work and the the drum wont turn. Double checked that all the connectors were locked in place and the display panel is working.

We have an electrolux dryer and it has the spring style door latch. We have to lift the door then push it to latch. Do you think it could be the hinge or the door latch causing this issue?

Thank you for your Great question.
I think it’s the hinge but,

Any advice on how to easily remove the blower wheel on these? it says REMOVE --> turn clockwise, but the whole motor axle spins with it....what's a good way to stop that and be able to get the wheel out to replace it with the newer wheel model? I know I'm probably missing something, so any help is appreciated!

Great question. I grab the motor pulley with a pair of locking vice grips and as I turn the blower wheel the vice grips push against the cabinet and keep the motor shaft from turning.

Thank you so damn much. This was my exact dryer and my exact problem. Turns out there were ROCKS in the blower. That’s what you get with toddlers. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel This is the fourth or fifth time I’ve had to vacuum lint out of my blower (and rocks, ugh) and therefore needed to rewatch this video. I’m so tired of this machine. I wish there were a permanent fix.

THANK YOU!!! My dryer was super loud. So loud I could hear it upstairs in the bed room. Took me forever to get the thing back together but it’s quiet and normal again :)

Scottthefixitguy do you know anything about the washers and how to make them not smell?

Hi I was just watching this video and came across your comment, my wife says to make sure the washer door is left cracked open when not in use. You can run an empty cycle with bleach or they even make washing machine cleaner. Most importantly leave the door cracked after it’s cleaned. It seems like if it’s closed when not in use, it will begin to mildew because it’s all sealed up. Hope this helps, have a great day.

Louis Ievolello thank you! I will try leaving the door open. I’ve tried the cleaner alone, but it doesn’t seem to work that well.

My dryer started making a rumbling noise after i changed the dryer belt for some reason any suggestions on what it could be?

Scott, I think we're dealing with this now. It is also squeaking while running in addition to the loud rumbling noise. Did you notice any squeaking?

Hey I saw this video as my airdryer was doing the same we opened it up but when we got to the blower there was no lint and after putting it back hoping that it would fix back it still made the noise I was wondering if you knew if anything else could be wrong with it I really don't want to have to spend money I mean all that hard work I feel like we can fix it ourselves.

I’d say it’s the back two support rollers are worn out.

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Ok thank you I'd also like to mention how before this happened the lint holder inside the dryer how came off which caused a few socks to go inside the blower housing I'm pretty sure one was accidentally left in but as I mentioned we opened it up I was expected it to be there but it was no where to be found we tried looking into the vent hose it was no where to be found and we tried that as it was spinning to open it and it did stop we we'd assume it was that so we were confused no lint was found it was clean but if you have any videos on his to replace the dryer support rollers that would be great and thank you for the video we had a hastle but at least we tried 😅
