Wow Shane, I have never seen anything quite like that. Looks cool. We still need to get out there together at some point. Congrats on all the success you've had. Well deserved sir.
i just ordered one, im excited... not sure how long the wait is... I have 3 100ah 12v lifepo4 just like you. I hope I dont get a lemon like other reviewers. Im happy you are having success. This is going on a 16ft scanoe. :) :)
I am sure it will be fine. The review from Tiny boat nations was flawed they didn’t really test the motor nor read the manual which I recommend you do. I will be putting a video out soon where I run my motor two straight hours and go almost 12 miles and have 38% of my batteries left.
Have you encountered aquatic weeds with this motor, and how well did it do? Some of the best fishing is where there is pretty thick growth, so it is good to know if the motor just cut through them, or started to excessively vibrate or quite when fouled?
Thanks for the review! Can I ask what AMP HOUR your setup is? Newport was nice enough to upgrade me to the 50AH battery since the 30AH was out of stock. I will be putting this motor to the test this weekend on my Old Town Sportsman 154 (120lbs empty). Hoping to hit 6mph but the range will be the big test for sure.
I have three 100 Amp Hour 12 volt lithium batteries set up in series for 36volts. There is another Kayak review out there where he gets 6MPH on his Kayak fully loaded with the NT300. I would guess you could get close to 7-8 miles in range depending on conditions.
@@ShaneFlintOutdoors thanks again, I realized after watching the video again your setup was 100ah. I will be testing the motor with a Newport 50ah battery tomorrow and can't wait to see what it can do. Just based on simple math, I'm hoping I can get 10-15 miles out of one charge at 50-75% throttle... Will follow up and possibly do my own review.
Can the motor be transported in the stowed position? Or do you leave it down or remove it from the boat when heading to/from the lake? I just bought a long shaft and it’s uncomfortably close to the road when trailered.
I talked to Newport. They said that the motor cannot be transported on the boat. That it needs to be removed between uses. I’ve never heard of an outboard or trolling motor that couldn’t be left mounted on the boat.
What is your transom measurement from top to bottom of the boat? Mine is 24” Can’t figure out why Newport charges more for the long shaft when the other companies do not
My transom height is 19 inches and the standard model works great on my boat. Not sure why they charge more but in my opinion the motor is worth the price. The competitors are three times the cost and are not as powerful nor run as long.
My transom has been built up and measures 24” you think I need the long shaft? Been trying to get in touch with them thru email and calls but no response yet
@@tannernorton4265 There is a plug with a connector to the motor the other end is just to standard connectors you see on your standard trolling motor. Very Easy to setup.
Pushing a boat the last 0.5 mph without getting on plane just wastes power by making waves. If you pull back just a little your range will increase a lot. This has nothing to do with electric, it’s just physics. Same with gas motors. Notice that a boat on plane makes less wake the faster it goes.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS MOTOR!!! I waited months to receive mine. After a handful of uses the throttle went crazy and couldn't be reset. It would go from trolling speed to 100% all by itself. Sometimes 100% in reverse! Actually ran over a buddy in a kayak from this. Luckily, he wasn't hurt. Filled out the warranty claim and sent it back and they replaced it. The new motor lasted less than 10 trips out and completely died. No power, no nothing. They state that the warranty only covers 1 claim. Will not fix the issue. Still within the 2 year warranty window, even if you go off of the first motor. Garbage motor and company! The only reason to purchase this motor would be to find out how far you can row back to the dock! Trash 🗑
I'm running a 30 lb. thrust trolling motor, a Minnkota and would love to get these into the market in buffalo, n.y. lake Erie region. Anybody know who distributes these in my area
increase the bang for the buck by getting a lithium battery with more bang ( better price , lighter weight ) than the other lithium sellers. seaquestbattery thats who.
That’s awesome you saved a bunch of money and you are happy with it! Great video Shane👍

Thanks Titus, we got to get out to HR together, would like to see you pull a 7,8, or 9lber out of there.
@@ShaneFlintOutdoors Me too my friend. Me too
Great review shane. Good luck with the new motor. Looks solid!
Great review. Sounds like a great motor for the money. Hope it lasts you a very long time.
Its been a great motor so far. They make a version for the Yak as well.

Nice review! Thanks so much for sharing and the information was great. #ShaneFlintOutdoors rocks!
Thank You!!
Very interesting Shane! That thing was pushing you good. great overview on this!
Thanks
great review and advice on the motor Shane. Hope it helps someone on making a decision.
Thanks

I have not had any issues in the weeds with the motor at all does pretty well cutting through them.
Great review
Great review Shane
Thanks James!
That looks like a solid entry level deal. Some of those all electric outboard motors get crazy pricy.
Its been a solid motor so far!
Nice review, Shane.
Thank You
I'm running 2 OLDTOWN 106 fishing kayaks connected together to make a fishing catamaran and the NEWPORT NT300 would be the perfect answer
Great overview, thanks for the info
Thanks its been a great motor so far.

gód speed range
3 36v or 3 12v lithiums? (I just saw your buddies video. 3 12v lithium he says. I think this is awesome. Especially if I already have a 12v 100ah. )
36volt motor with 3 100Ah Lithium batteries and it runs forever.
For your test you were running 3 batteries so 300 amp hours of capacity?
Yes I was running 3, 100 Amp hour Lithium batteries in series. which equals 100AH of capacity at 36 Volts.
Are you able to lock this motor straight to where you could steer with the front trolling motor
Yes you can
What is your transom measurement from top to bottom of the boat? Mine is 24”
Can’t figure out why Newport charges more for the long shaft when the other companies do not

Yes you will need the long shaft. I have a 19 inch transom and the standard shaft just fits.
So you think you can run 20 miles on one charge at full throttle? Thanks....Also, are you using their battery?
I am confident I can run 20 miles on one full charge. No I am not using there battery, I am using three 100ah Lithium batteries in series.
How did u connect to your batteries, did they send u the plug to wire up?
@@tannernorton4265 There is a plug with a connector to the motor the other end is just to standard connectors you see on your standard trolling motor. Very Easy to setup.
What is the max voltage these can take?
I am not sure what the max voltage is. Its rated for 36 volts, but I will tell you my batteries put out a bit more than 36V.
@@ShaneFlintOutdoors The web site says 36v minimum? Thanks

Lithium batteries and water don’t mix. This is a fire waiting to happen.
