these heads flow enough already and the roughness is for street use so unless your only using your car for hardcore racing, getting the ports polished and ported bigger is completely useless. You'll get plenty of airflow into the cylinders thanks to their design you can go with a little bit bigger cam to let more air in if needed.
hi. how did u like the trick flow kit with the stage 1 cam? do u recommend it? . will the track heat manifold fit with the stock hood?.thanks from las vegas
You stole those heads at a proce of 850, I just had to spend 1650 on a set of the new 190 twisted wedge 11r street ports... Cant wait to see a video of the combo.
before you have the ports finished, make SURE the machine shop checks for valve guide run -out, some heads are so bad you can see daylight between the valve and seat, also stay away from China valves they break off at the stem once the have been heat cycled
Installed these heads years and years ago and have had no problems with them at all. If and when I do install a new motor I will port them more and have upgraded valves installed.. Thanks for the heads-up
I've got the same heads stage 2 trick flow cam 1.72 trick flow roller rockes 75mm throtle body trick flow r series upper and lower 30 lb trick flow injectors 255 lph trick flow fuel pump bbk lond tube headers bbk under drive pulleys and some other godies I'm putting on a 5.0 in a 00 mustang with a 5 speed
Your heads do not have double beehive springs because they don't exist. I wouldn't smooth the intake too much. Intakes that are a little rough will help atomize the fuel better than smooth ones. Good Luck.
Around the 300rwhp range give or take. I soon after installed a vortech supercharger and now make over 500rwhp on stock bottom end. As long as the tune is dialed and you don't beat on it 24/7 it will be okay until I install new block. Thanks
Never looked in to it much but thus guy is talking about porting it. how much of a gain do you get from a port and polish ? And would the cost of getting this done be worth it ?
supershark 9k it already comes ported.. but if you want to port them or someone else do it. It's probably around $200 to $300. But yeah these heads are one of the best out there. Depending on the cam and setup. But you can gain 50 to 30 hp with these heads. Depending on the cam you get and heads. If you want high hp from N/A go with the 58cc chamber for a higher compression 61cc and higher are good for power adders like super chargers. Now when I say depending on the cam. You must look at the clearances of the trick flow. Don't want it valves hitting the piston... but I would suggest the trick flow stage 1 cam hydraulic one. Don't get the damn flat tappet one like I did... had to return it. And made my car run like absolute shit.
@@ericbarr6812 the F cam sounds great and works well in a 5 speed car. The E cam is good and so is the B cam ive never ran them with a automatic cause i have manual transmission in all my cars except two newer mustangs . 4r70w's. Those are stock cam cars. Had a neighbor who ran the x cam for years.
stage 1 cam... but ur porting it, i just order trick flow heads but i'm running comp's thumpr retrofit fucking 283/303 lift, beautiful overlap, if the studs the correct measurement and its 1.6 ratio why does the rocker really matter.... no money for a throttle body tho. lemmy know how it runs
Before porting those heads, I would consult with David Vizard. He's the MAN!
Getting ready to get a new set of Trick Flow Twisted Wedge 190 11R street ports for a turbo 331 build.. I hope the 190's will do well.
GIT-ER-DONE... exactly what i wanna do... when i get a 5.0 of old it would be my first mustang
Dude ur setup is baller
