I ordered my Higgins sbf heads directly from them. Stand up people and excellent products. Zach Smith at ZSR engines in Missouri is now a dealer. He only does Ford engines though. He’s also a good dude. Ordered a lot of parts from him and when the time comes he at least do the machining and possibly the assembly.

I was looking at putting a set of the afr 227cc eliminator race ready racing heads on my sbc 406. Looking to put a big solid roller cam in the engine to go with the heads. Looking to have my compression ratio at the 11:1 or so and looking to make 500 to 600hp. This is just gonna be a play toy for the street and maybe track time. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion but the guys at engine Masters have done some really good test on the Pro Comp heads that you say are completely junk and they only made 20 less horsepower than a head that cost three times as much Richard holder also did some procomp and Speedmaster head comparisons at Westech performance and found that for the price you could not come close so I would say China junk is probably just an opinion and I would rather base my information on actual numbers from a Dyno session such as engine Masters or Westech performance. One of my friends bought some of those, I think they were Pro maxx? He didn't have them checked out before installation, just bolted me on...send it.
They began goin tits up before the engine was even fully broken in. Same thing happened to me with some brand new S/R Torquers I put on a Chevy 383. After that I went to the wrecking yard and picked up some decent Vortec heads. Had them freshened up and bolted em on. They were way better than the aftermarket ones. Just subscribed and have been looking through your library but can't seem to find anything on the AFR V2 Heads. Purchased a set of 335 for a twin turbo race motor. I was told the AFR had .250 more meat on the deck so works best on turbo applications. AFR were super supportive even going as far as swapping out springs due to the lighter rates on the as sold Heads. AFR are really great to work with IMO. Originally had a set of Dart Pro One of the same size that needed work. Tried to get them refreshed at Dart (World Mach.) And couldn't even get them to answer. I would appreciate any ideas you may have. Mark Samford in Abilene massaged em lightly. (Guides/chambers)

Ran 9.80 na and 8.90 with the spray in a foxbody notch. Those old school pro Topline heads were sweet. Can’t find them anywhere now. It’d be like finding gold. Pretty sure when this motor was running in the mid 00’s those heads were already out of production and bought out 10 years earlier. Now it’s the known RHS pro action stuff but I’m not 100% sure if the heads are as good as they were when the New Zealand company was making them back in the 90’s, and I don’t think they even make an iron head anymore. Great video Eric. Some really good information and opinions based on your experience. One head that I keep looking at for the Cleveland is the Scott Cook SCM heads. Another Australian head, but developed to look externally identical to the original Ford head, but in aluminium, and with a number of different port and combustion chamber options. Thanks again. Regards Greg

Oh wow I never heard of the 3 Australian brands also the 3 brands you mention Dart, World Products, and EQ they are circle track heads for sure I know quite a few people use 1 of those 3 and I use World Products for my wingless sprint car I am getting into. They are 220 runners and 208 intake and 160 exhaust I don't know the flow numbers but I tried to look them up I guess they flow 290cfm peak but I don't know I never found good proof of them.

Good review! I need to do the heads on my C6Z/LS7, I'm strongly considering the PRC 285 Texas Speed heads. Thoughts? They seem like one of the better values with decent flow numbers.

I'm in the same boat, I just got a deal on a set of PRC 285s I couldn't pass up. A guy bought them and then decided to go a completely different route, brand new in box, never even set on the block. Shipped to my door for $2500. I can't wait to put this thing together and see how it does.
I do think the PRC 265 would probably be better for a street car though, not 100% sure.

@@ssoffshore5111 I will say this, I ran PRC 225s on my Camaro with a somewhat outdated cam (Torquer V2) Fast 102, 4" exhaust, and I definitely hurt some feelings with that setup. I beat up on a couple cammed LS3 C6s and a C5 with a 416 and LS3 heads.
Ran that setup for 12k hard miles until I was rear ended.

Some of those LS china heads that are popular! I don’t think 🤔 is made of very good material! I have seen numerous, fairly popular heads produced by the company that was made popular by a guy on UA-cam, with blowtorched holes 🕳 through them, with fairly low boost 🙄🙄🙄🙄! I know most morons can burn 🔥 up anything, but I’ve seen & heard of many engine builders that won’t use them, because they know they move & almost always cause issues 🙄🙄🙄🙄! The Dart stuff Has always been really good! Dick Maskin put a lot of effort into his stuff! Especially in the last 8 or so years! Most of Darts heads are now made of 357, which is about the highest quality of material in any cast aluminum heads! But no one ever thinks about the material 🙄🙄🙄🙄! Which should be pretty important on any power adder engine! Darts newer stuff out of the box makes more power, than the older heads! Just swapping out 20 yr old set of BBC Heads with a new updated set picked up over 25 hp! With the same parts put into the new castings! Either way their stuff always ran well & lasted along time! My boss tried to order some more engine blocks, I think he was told 40 to 50 weeks, before they would ship! WTF 🤬🤬🤬🤬 So if you destroy your block, you might not race until this time next year 🙄🙄🙄🙄! It’s really sad, because there are tons of foundries sitting doing nothing 🙄🙄🙄🙄!Most people cannot afford to go racing anymore anyways! We have people who were in a big hurry to get going, & they have their shit. But haven’t been out once! Edelbrock makes some of the most hi quality street heads! But they still really only have street stuff! We do have a few really old sets of the BV3 heads, on a few engines! They really do make power, they last & they made everyone step up there games 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻! Higgens builds some of the best heads going 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻! There SB2 & SBF Heads are awesome 😎! You can deal with them directly! I’m surprised you haven’t talked with them! They are really proud of there stuff! You could even get better deals than most as your a cylinder head guy only! Brodix makes awesome stuff, normally! Sometimes stuff gets shipped, that 100% shouldn’t! Also it also depends who you get on the phone! You could get a decent person who gives a shit! Or you could get someone who doesn’t give AF who you are, or how much you have spent with them over the years, & basically a big FY! It’s not a good thing!

Hey Eric! First of all, love the videos, I have learned a lot from them. Question, I have a sbc (327) and I'd like to beef it up a bit. It's a street application so I'm looking for power gains throughout the power range. From what I have read/researched, folks are upgrading to the AFR 195 heads with an applicable cam (comp XE274). In this video you mentioned that Profiler makes the best sbc head in your opinion; is that for street or race applications? Or both? Thanks in advance! Would you stay with the AFR/comp combo, or maybe the Profiler/comp combo?

Hello Eric..I’m a new subscriber to your channel and I find your videos very informative…I would like to know what set of heads you would recommend to me for my stock Chevy 350 as an upgrade..it is stock bore and the factory heads are boat anchors as far as I’m concerned…I want a decent set of heads for around $1200 assembled..,I will of course replace the camshaft to match the heads…any suggestions? I trust your judgement so that’s why I’m reaching out to you…
