    I like how Spartacus is disarmed of one of his practice swords while defeating two Roman soldiers, but he still elects to fight the next three without picking it back up.

    I love how Spartacus, when he is standing from water, looks at Glaber for a moment (and Batiatus notes that), then he turns left to keep fighting, and before the last punch to the gladiator, he looks at Glaber again (and I also get the impression that he continues to keep his gaze with him after finishing) . Great actor, and great director.

    Absolutely *LOVED* this scene (Practically the best out of the entire Series, IMHO).
    When we were being taught CQC, it started off 1v1, but then we began facing multiple opponents, because that's how the real world/war and combat is. HUGE difference between fighting a highly skilled (And VERY motivated) person, and your average everyday peasant/citizen, and Spartacus taught them all a very valuable lesson.
    The only reason Rome defeated Spartacus and his assembly, was due to Rome's much greater military and their supply lines. Had Spartacus managed to get out of Italy, world history would be very different, today.

    Throughout the series whenever Spartacus is fighting with two swords, if he drops one he never picks it up again during the fight. He will fight on with one sword or use an opponent's weapon against him.

      Some gladiators were showmen, they wanted to entertain the masses, others were trying to survive. Maybe Spartacus had no time to pick up the sword he dropped, maybe he didn't want to get distracted. Distractions can kill you.

    • @blucolife
      @blucolife 10 місяців тому

      @@saul2491 Who betrayed who first? Spartacus agreed to join the Auxiliary, then he broke his oath and convinced his brothers to go home. That's not how soldiering works, once you sign the terms of enlistment, they own you. Also, the idea that the Auxilia fights and the Roman legionnaires pick up the pieces is absurd. The Auxilia aids in the fighting, they might be slingers, archers, etc, but they're not the main force.

      @@saul2491 Watch the first episode again. They didn't want to join until Spartacus convinced them. The deal was that Spartacus and his people would fight for Rome, and Rome would fight the Getta. I admit that the Romans broke that deal, but that happens. Military recruiters are also famous for lying, they promise you a certain job, but if your math scores are low or some other reason, you won't get it.
